@@okk2776 There's a million better ways of expressing his feelings towards the product than saying "I hate it". The definition of hate is: "Intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury. He could've simply said "I'd rather not invest because..." and then list up the reasons he said after saying he hated them. Point gets across without getting emotional/hurting the entrepreneur's feelings. Oh well, he only made himself look bad, at least the other guy reacted well and with maturity to it..
Touker: "How dare you distribute American products and undercut the beloved products on our own English market?" Also Touker: "How can I take your locally made product, and manufacture it in China?"
He's obviously not upset about where something he likes is made. He's upset that it isn't something he likes. 12:05 He mentions Germans having the same English style stuff he likes. And the entrepreneur pointlessly mentions the Germans could've produced it. That makes no difference. It's about the product itself appealing to him.

Nah they’re right. I wouldn’t start a business while working full time that’s just crazy. Maybe a hobby business like it was at that point but not a serious, investable business. In his position I’d work another 5-10 years saving every penny then launch a business full time.
The point they are making is that its fine if you're still in the transition stage but that's not a stage that they can invest and get really involved in because the entrepreneur just isn't available
To be fair, Jeff Bezos left his job to start Amazon and Gates, Musk, Zuckerberg and Ek(Founder of Spotify) all dropped out of college to start/build their respective companies(or at least a company that built up towards their bigger product).
I started my own business while still having another job. Now that things are taking off I have to stop my old job as you need the time and focus to really make it work.
I truly believe that if this guy promised to quit his teaching job, he would most likely have gotten any investment if he promised to put 100% of himself behind the business. But on the other hand, it would have been a great shame if he did quit his Job, as he seems to come across as a great teacher. I really hope he can prove them all wrong and pursue both jobs and is very successful at it, as he seems very capable to me, so the best of luck with everything mate. I really hope you make it.
Lmfao... damn he had a good answer for everything. Esp at the end. Then the walk aways; "thanks for the constructive criticism" , clearly polite sarcasm
Touker was a dick to the teacher and the teacher honestly was so level headed and didn’t bat an eye or get combative. You can just tell that he’s a great gentleman.
Awwww he's a pain in the arse for that, thinks speaking very quickly equates to him seeming smart. My names nick ffs lol why cant we all be poifect like meeeee
If he wants investment, he needs to get himself to a point where he can put 100% of his time into the business. That might mean saving up a fund to live off, or it might mean developing the business to a degree of profitability where it can support him before seeking investment.
@@remchaill9898 Most people aren't in a position to save up a fund to live off of, that's the problem. Either your side hustle starts to make enough money to become your full-time job, or you leave your job and hope for the best. Being able to take extended breaks from work is a very privileged position to be in.
sam 방탄 That’s true but if your single and working it’s definitely possible just live in the cheapest accommodation you can find and live like you have nothing and save everything you can/ work ridiculously hard to make as much as you can a side hustle will help to let u save even more and if your wanting to start a business you can probably buy and sell things to double your money/ investment so yes it’s double for most it just takes sacrifice and massive financial personal risk.
@@jamesk8891 Most people barely make enough to support rent and bills though, so saving isn't an option unless you've got another source of income like a business or side hustle that's profitable. Even saving enough to live on for a month takes people a year or more, so being able to save enough to live on for several months to start a business is almost impossible.
Isn't it bit rich coming from Touker where manufacturing of his brand is offshore? And do I sense professional jealousy from Touker as his brand was in the process of developing similar grooming products (as mentioned by him in Mo bro's episode?)
yes but he has control over the whole operation and can make decisions when he likes based on the economics and regulations of the country in which his products are based or manufactured. Thats the difference, that plus he has a full time job as teacher, aint gonna work, especially on such small profits.
In a way I found most of the Dragons were reasonable, especially Sarah and Peter, because investment doesn't suit this business at this stage. But heck Touker felt *really* out of line here. The entrepreneur was so polite and gracious and Touker was unnecessarily rude for no reason! And I don't usually mind a bit of spiciness from the Dragons but they usually have something that set them off. 'I don't like it' is reasonable but Touker really had a go at the guy. No need! I might go try this guy's products out now to give him a bit of support. Anybody know where to find them? Are they still going? Hope he is!
Thousands of people run more than one successful business at one time. The man he most wanted to invest in his product was the only one who hated it, and how sad that must have felt for him.
Damn I don’t know how he didn’t start crying as he walked out. If the guy I looked up to just flat out said he hated my product, that’s exactly what I’d do.
The dragons want someone who has given up their job for the business before they are successful but when people come in who have sob stories about how they gave up everything for the business, ended up in debt and got their house repossessed they don't exactly jump in to invest in them so what do they want??!
Orion Yes, 💯 it is. I have tried Dollar Shave Club , and it’s excellent IMHO. Touker, Such a crazy old guy. This is not how you should be behaving with someone who looks up to you. You just demotivated that person telling him that all the work done in his free time was waste and not worthy. You and your English Brands... Maaannnnn i started reading about you online and my browser automatically switched me to Incognito mode.
I wish they would start making quitting the day job part of a conditional offer rather than asking the person to tell his employer on national TV that he wants to quit before he knows if he'll get an offer. It's basically "regardless of if I make an offer, tell your employer right now on national TV that you want to lose your job, and maybe I'll deem to make you an offer if I judge MY risk acceptable."
Seems like Touker had already invested into something similar and this guy was viewed as competition. I can think of no other reason why he was so rude to him like that. Poor guy, I feel for him.
@@inquisitionagent9052 11:25 dunno i just dont believe when he said he hated it...cause he listened attentively..to me his mind was churning on the business possibilities... then his eye flick to the product display before saying he hated it 🤷♀️ .... but hey i could be wrong lolz
i love how when people have a 2nd job.. Sometimes they admire them.. sometimes then slant them for not dropping it INSTANTLY. and now they wont invest because he has a job.
It's not so much that he had a job, it's that he clearly loves teaching as a career, and thus was never going to be fully present within the business. And I think it's totally fair to not want to invest because of that.
@@WobblesandBean you can love your main career and still be invested in your business. If the guy quit teaching he wouldn't be able to do anything. Not wanting to invest in someone because they don't hate their jobs is a horrible reason to not invest. Its also contradictory because these guys have criticized these people for not having a job and using the money from the business to support themselves. There was this one episode where Peter basically said "So you want me to invest in your company so I can support your salary?" People need to eat. I dont know what they want.
Dragons whenever anyone who pitches has another job: "Nope. Quit your job right away, work on this full time." Dragons: "Oh yeah I'm working with 5,000,000 other businesses at the moment"
Really Touker, you should have just said you're out and leave it at that. "It's not English. I hate it." You sound like a hypocrite. How could you possibly be so scathingly nationalistically discriminitive with your background?! You should be proud of multiculturalism, not trying to demean it.
Apparently Touker's factories are based in Turkey, Bulgaria, and Georgia! What a hypocrite for roasting that guy, he was only a beginner to succeeding at entrepreneurship.
Exactly, and the guy wasn't willing to go full time either, Touker was the only one being genuine, he knew it was a terrible investment and he was proven right
Damned if they do, damned if they don’t!!!! I have watched enough of these episodes now to realize that the criticism they showed to this man was unwarranted: 3/4 times someone comes in and pitches an idea/produce, and the Dragons say something along the lines of “you want me to invest to pay your salary”. This time around you have someone that actually has a side job, and all of a sudden it’s a problem. I get that going wholesale distribution is a big responsibility...but it’s not unheard of for someone to go wholesale and still have another job until the distro really picks up and they can then rely on that wholesale distro.
I think it's ridiculous when the dragons criticise someone for having a job while also starting a business & it shows just how out of touch they are. If you look at their backgrounds they all started from somewhere, yet often seem to forget that when they criticise people for working while trying to build a business. Seriously, where the hell do they expect people to start if they can't work? :|
Wow why is it so hard to understand 🤦🏽♀️His job would be his business. Why would you invest in someone who spends most of their time working for someone else? This isn't a charity. It's just common sense.
@@SiLoMixMaster in that case, the investor should quit their other investments, or the entrepreneur is entitled to only put in as much effort as the % they own. If the investor gets 20-40%, the entrepreneur only needs to put in 60-80% effort. Happy? Yeah, thought not 😏
I can t believe what said on 2:17 from Peter. Matching a tie with a pocket square is a no-no. It ruins an otherwise good outfit. Better lose the square

It's very ignorant of people to assume they know what asking for investment means and then posting to complain that they think it's ignorant to assume people have funds to give up their jobs!
He’s a rlly good teacher 🙄✋ he’s my teacher LOL
Turns out the website no longer exists, things probably didn’t go right sadly.
Lmfao... damn he had a good answer for everything.
Esp at the end.
Then the walk aways; "thanks for the constructive criticism" , clearly polite sarcasm
Right, because it clearly had the potential to be destructive

How is he supposed to survive not working? Only millionaires can say don't work and focus on the business.
Exactly!
Touker “Dream Destroyer” Suleyman
Not so magnificent
In a way I found most of the Dragons were reasonable, especially Sarah and Peter, because investment doesn't suit this business at this stage.
But heck Touker felt *really* out of line here. The entrepreneur was so polite and gracious and Touker was unnecessarily rude for no reason! And I don't usually mind a bit of spiciness from the Dragons but they usually have something that set them off. 'I don't like it' is reasonable but Touker really had a go at the guy. No need!
I might go try this guy's products out now to give him a bit of support. Anybody know where to find them? Are they still going? Hope he is!

Touker is such a goober. He always seems so confuddled and then he has a eureka moment and declares himself out or in.
Touker always has a problem with someone having a full-time job aside the business
I think this candidate demonstrated such integrity and if it wasn’t for his day job, he would be a very investable individual
Damn I don’t know how he didn’t start crying as he walked out. If the guy I looked up to just flat out said he hated my product, that’s exactly what I’d do.
The guy has taught his students best with his attitude once he left the Den. Knocks are a part of life, it's how you take them that matters!
The dragons want someone who has given up their job for the business before they are successful but when people come in who have sob stories about how they gave up everything for the business, ended up in debt and got their house repossessed they don't exactly jump in to invest in them so what do they want??!

I personally find Touker attack on the teacher as being, disrespectful, unpatriotic and an abuse of the position he holds in the DEN.

Touker sounds like a nationalist and was offended American products would enter the market..lol wtf

Seems like Touker had already invested into something similar and this guy was viewed as competition. I can think of no other reason why he was so rude to him like that. Poor guy, I feel for him.

i love how when people have a 2nd job..

Is the first time I have seen Peter amazed for someone best dressed and smart as this man.
Hate is an awful word. 👎. He dislikes it.
Really Touker, you should have just said you're out and leave it at that. "It's not English. I hate it." You sound like a hypocrite. How could you possibly be so scathingly nationalistically discriminitive with your background?! You should be proud of multiculturalism, not trying to demean it.
"But it's probably made in Germany" Ooohhhhhh out cold

3.44 - Touka’s face at the net profit numbers . Brilliant
How do they expect him to live without a job?
I said the same on mondays clip, but apparently its ok because they're investors. Go figure.
They would end up running the business for him and they wouldn't need him in anyway yet he would be majority shareholder
Exactly. Only rich people can say don't work.
Wow why is it so hard to understand 🤦🏽♀️His job would be his business. Why would you invest in someone who spends most of their time working for someone else? This isn't a charity. It's just common sense.
