For the Donuts:
1 cup warm whole milk (105 to 110F)(240mL)
1 (0.25-ounce/7g) packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
¼ cup plus 1 teaspoon granulated sugar divided (62g)
6 tablespoons melted unsalted butter (85g)
1 large egg at room temperature
3 cups all-purpose flour plus additional for dusting (360g)
½ teaspoon salt
coconut or olive oil cooking spray
For the Glaze:
3 cups confectioners’ sugar (120g)
•½ cup whole milk (120mL)
2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
½ teaspoon vanilla extract

I love what you said about warm doughnuts. Their used to be a little bakery on my way to work had sold fresh warm cinnamon doughnuts in the mornings. They were not very big, so we would buy 4-5 of them at a time (not every day) and they almost never make it to the office.

Thank you for this recipe! I alerady tried it out and to be honest I didn`t believe I would be able to make them so good. They turned out amazing! Only the shape isn`t very good but I didn`t have cutters so I used a cup and a bottle cap to shape them.

I made these yesterday.. I was really nervous because I hate using yeast but they were SOOOOO GOODD!! 100% recommend. They are not like Krispy Kreme doughnuts but they are better than "fast food" doughnuts (Dunkin Doughnuts, Tim Horton's etc). They were really soft!
I have a Ninja air fryer and it seems to get "hotter," so I reduced the temp to 330deg and cooked for 8 min. When I made a slightly larger doughnut, I would increase the time a bit. But the recipe is REALLY forgiving.
I don't have a scale and I used instant yeast-- NO PROBLEMS!!! Also, I made cinnamon-sugar doughnuts as well (by coating it in butter then in cinnamon-sugar)- super yum.
