🥑🍓🥦🍉🍋 INGREDIENTS 🥔🥚🍫🧁🎂🍰
For the donuts:
* 1/2 cup warm water
* 1/4 cup warm milk
* 2¼ teaspoons dry active yeast
* ⅓ cup granulated sugar + 1 tablespoon
* ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
* 1 egg
* 1 egg yolk
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (add more as needed)
* ½ teaspoon salt
* Cooking spray
For the glaze:
* 2 cups powdered sugar
* ¼ cup milk
* 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
* 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
📃📄📃📄📃INSTRUCTIONS 📃📄📃📄📃📄
1. In a large measuring cup, add 1/2 cup warm water, 1/4 cup warm milk (108 degrees Fahrenheit), 2 1/4 teaspoons dry active yeast, and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar.
2. Let the yeast mixture froth up and rise for about 5 minutes. If it doesn’t froth up, discard it and start again with new yeast.
3. Now in a stand mixer, add 1/3 cup granulated sugar, 1/4 cup unsalted melted butter, 1 egg, 1 egg yolk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled off), and ½ teaspoon salt. Then pour in the yeast mixture and pace the hook attachment on.
4. Begin mixing on low speed until the flour is incorporated into liquids. Then take the speed up to high and beat for 5 minutes. Then scrape down the sides of the beater bowl.
5. If the dough looks too sticky, add 1 tablespoon of flour at a time. Make sure to mix well and scrape down the sides of the bowl between each addition of flour. You don’t want to add too much flour or the donuts will be too dry. They should have a slightly sticky texture to them.
6. Now place the dough in a large greased bowl and cover with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap. Let the dough rise for about one hour or until it doubles in size.
7. When the dough is ready, punch it down to release air bubbles. Then transfer it to a floured surface
8. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough out to about 1/2 inch in thickness. Use a donut cutter or 2 different sized biscuit cutters to cut out as many donuts as you can. Then reshape the scraps and cut out some more donuts. Continue doing this until you have no more scraps left. My larger biscuit cutter was 4 inches in diameter and the smaller one was 1 1/4 inches in diameter.
9. Now place the cut out donuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper then cover them lightly and let them rise again for about 20-30 minutes.
10. Preheat your air fryer to 345 degrees Fahrenheit. Then spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
11. Now place a few donuts into the air fryer basket and spray them with some more cooking spray. Make sure that the donuts are not touching.
12. Air fry the donuts for about 5-6 minutes. Repeat this process with the remaining donuts and donut holes. Then transfer the donuts onto a plate lined with paper towels.
13. To make the glaze, in a large bowl combine 2 cups powdered sugar, 1/4 cup milk, 1 tablespoon light corn syrup, and 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
14. While the donuts are warm dip them in the glaze and let them set on a cooling rack. The glaze sets shinier when the donuts are hot, so you don’t want to let them cool down first.

I didn't see many comments saying how the recipe turned out so I figured I'd leave my review. It worked really well and I was kinda skeptical when the dough didn't quite rise as much after I cut them out but they baked perfectly in the air fryer. The glaze is a bit basic and you need a pretty thick coat to actually taste it but they're delicious. Took a good 4 hours but half of the time I was just waiting for it to rise or bake. I would definitely recommend doing as long as you have to time to. They also don't feel as unhealthy since they weren't deep fried.
Thank you Isabel, I'm glad you enjoyed them :)
A glaze I've done is just powdered sugar vanilla extract and melted butter
@@praiselordcthulhu2428 Oh that sounds like it would work pretty well actually. I'll try that next time, thank you
4 hours?? Jeez. Imma have to pass
@@Jan7th Well, I do have adhd so that would've taken off about 30 minutes, but half of the time you just go do something else while it rises.
As a vision impaired cook, I really found your description perfect. Thanks not many presenters are as good with descriptions.

It's 3: 15am and I'm really stoned right now. This video was ecstasy and torture all at the same time. I really wanna donut.
Well, you have the recipe now, so... ¯\_("/)_/¯
A doughnut is what i want too when I'm stoned.
Make this while stoned then see how they turn out when your sober
Yeah. Not even stoned and idk why I'm watching this at 2 am.
i sat here and wondered. why she drowned the doughnut holes but not the holes doughnut in frosting.. lmao. they should have been covered also.. i am also a baked good..haha
I tried these today and I was actually really surprised at how good they turned out. I was a bit skeptical at first, considering this was my first time working with yeast on my own. It took me much longer than average; only because something came up in the middle of proofing the bread, although they still turned out great! For proofing, since my house is slightly colder than normal (it being winter), I took a large-ish bowl of hot water and put it in the oven along with my bowl of dough, and it rose a lot. Although I put a little bit too much oil in the bowl, so after it was very oily when I had to take it out; I just dried it a bit with paper towels. While cutting out the shapes, I didn’t have either biscuit cutters nor doughnut cutters, and, me being me, I wasn’t about to go out and buy them, so I just used a glass cup and the back end of a piping tip. Last, for glaze, since I didn’t have corn syrup, I just used maple syrup, and let me tell you, it tasted really delicious. Although I think the 2 cups of powdered sugar was a bit much, I could really taste the powdered sugar in it, though putting less it would probably make the glaze more watery. Also I think it was because of the different brands of air-fryers, but my doughnuts turned out slightly more browned than hers (nothing to complain about though, they were amazing nonetheless). I was initially worried they would burn but nope! Overall, they turned out really delicious and soft. It really helped me break through my original fear of working with yeast, all the waiting and rising, but now I’m inspired to bake a lot more things with it! Thank you for the recipe! 😊
Thank you so much for all of those helpful tips and all of that feedback, this will be super helpful to others. I'm so glad you enjoyed the recipe and that it turned out good 😊
I like to rise dough in my oven set to the lowest temp(if your oven doesn't go to 100f, probably a bad idea. It makes things rise like crazay!
@@kkarall5060 Also, if it has an incandescent light bulb, leave it on and that warms the oven just a tiny bit. Enough for proofing.
Great tip thanks. My dough wasn't rising and it's a little cold here today. So popped in the oven with the proofing temperature on. Worked like a charm.
If you don't mind...What name brand is your Air Fryer? Mine is a Cosori 5.8 and I love it, but I haven't baked anything yet 😁👩🍳

Who else is watching this and do not even have an air fryer? LOL

@@SimplyHomeCooked omg! ok course, I'm trying them out today.
I've tried this recipe multiple times now and I must say I'm impressed. In the past, I've made donuts how you are supposed to make them, but they never turned out well. But these were amazing! They had the signature donut texture and they tasted delicious. It's not too complicated, and they're actually really fun to make, other than the fact that they four hours. Honestly I'd say this the best donut recipe I've ever encountered.
Priscilla, thank you for your wonderful comment and feedback. I'm so glad you enjoyed this recipe and that it worked out great 😊

Thank you so much!! You are too kind :) I hope you love these donuts!
Making these rn! Thanks so much for this recipe. I finished cooking and it is finger licking good. Glaze compliments it perfectly and not to sweet I did add 1/4 cup of melted butter to the glaze but only because I like that buttery flavor. and the donut itself has that bakery fluff to it. Definitely worth making
I am so happy to hear that, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback 😊
This was so relaxing to watch, and the music and your voice made me feel like a kid watching a fun PBS special on donuts. thanks!

Are these the same donuts they give to the sheep so they'll get the jab?
I haven’t seen many reviews on how they taste, they are amazing the glaze is amazing except the first time I cook them in my air fryer they overcooked I found that if you cook a single one at 3:45 For three minutes it turns out perfect I would really recommend if you’re looking for a good recipe I love it
Thank you for the great and honest feedback. I am so glad you enjoyed the recipe :)

That excitement in the voice is infectious. I don’t even have an air fryer, but I was riveted.
You're so sweet, thank you :)
Just made these this morning. DELICIOUS!! Not heavy or greasy or too sweet. I added about 4 extra tablespoons of flour, then turned the dough onto a floured wooden board and brought it together. Perfect texture. If I had left it in the bowl, I likely would have added another tablespoon of flour and it would not have been necessary. As per another comment, my donuts only required 4 minutes of cooking time (I have an Ultrean air fryer). I also did 2 light dips of plain glaze then drizzled them with some chocolate glaze for a pretty effect. I tried another air fryer recipe a couple of weeks ago and they were heavy and dry. This recipe is PERFECT. Key is not too much flour and not to overcook them. Thanks so much Dina for this amazing recipe! It is a keeper.
Thank you Paula for your detailed comment, I think it will be helpful to others! I'm so glad you enjoyed the donut recipe 😊

Thank you for this recipe. I made the doughnuts this morning and they are delicious. I used maple syrup instead of corn syrup in the glaze.
So glad you enjoyed them, thank you for your feedback 😊
Thank you for posting this! I have made these 3 times now. Honestly I had some trouble with the recipe but third time lucky, so a couple of notes in case it it helps anyone else.
First, my dough never came away clean from the bowl using the recommended measurements and I am not sure why. In fact it was almost a pouring consistency! I had to add a lot more flour to make the dough come semi clean from the bowl and then the doughnuts were dry. However, when I added just enough flour to get some firmness to the batter (but not to get it clean from the bowl) that worked out much much better and the end product was very light.
Second, I added some nutmeg and cinnamon to the batter to give it more flavour and that worked out well too.
Third, double dipping on the glaze is definitely recommended.
Lastly, once risen, the dough will also freeze well (just in case you don’t want to eat 10 doughnuts in one go)! Thanks again for the recipe it’s been fun trying it out.
Thank you very much for sharing all of your feedback, this will be helpful to others! Amazing that you tried the recipe 3 times!!
Cup measures are really unreliable for flour measurements, as the flour will have a different size depending on humidity, how much you pack it in, whether your cup is actually accurately graded (many commercially available ones aren't). If that makes sense. :)
This is one of the best tutorial that actually really works, results are outstanding!! My kids love donuts and it's healthy version!! Truly recommended 👍👍👍

These were great! The only thing I have to say is that if you have a different sized/brand air fryer than her, you may need to experiment with how long the cooking time should be. For me, my Ninja fried them perfectly at 3-4 minutes on 345 since 5-6 minutes was too long, over cooking them. Also if you want them sweeter, double dipping them does the trick. Great recipe! Fam loved them.
So happy you loved these air fryer donuts! Thank for your feedback :) Yes different brands/sizes may affect the bake/cook time. For mine I needed 5-6 minutes. I tried a minute less and it was under cooked. Double or even triple dipping will definitely add some sweetness :)
Thx for tip
I think for a thicker glaze you just need less liquid or more powder sugar. Double dipping might work too, but this type of glaze is better used quickly as it dries up
Hey what setting did you put your ninja air fryer at- because on mine there air crisp roast etc
@@alishbasaleem4618 it would be air crisp.

Just finished making these, and they're great. Did them in a ninja foodi grill with an air crisp feature, a full size oven with an air fry setting, and also deep fried some. All turned out great! Make sure you add the salt and let the yeast froth properly though. I messed that up and they did end up not as fluffy as I'd hoped.
Thank you for your feedback, Christopher!

I really REALLY value my viewers! You all mean everything to me :) Thanks for noticing, I really appreciate it 😉
Tried your recipe and it came out purrrfect‼️I followed the instruction to a tee, however, I allowed the yeast mixture to sit longer and there was alot of foam. As well, i allowed the dough to sit longer than recommended. The first batch of donuts to go into into airfryer, I had inadvertently didn't let it sit and rise; it still came out okay. However, for the second batch, as they had to wait on the first batch, they rise and after being airfried came out extra light and airy. I doubledipped the donuts in the glaze and added rainbow sprinkles .... the sweetness of the glaze complimented the donuts,, as they weren't overly sweet..... they were an hit... also added cocopowder to the glaze mixture. Thanks 😊
Thank you for your incredible feedback! I think this will be super helpful to others, I'm so glad you loved it! 🥰

I made it. They’re so delicioso! 10/10😻
Glad you like them, thank you for taking the time to comment 😊
These look absolutely amazing. I find most shop brought doughnuts far too oily (hate that greasy mouth afterfeel), so I will certainly be trying these in my AF
They're amazing! Circle back and let me know how it goes :)
Just made these and they're awesome!
Hi Amber :) Very happy to hear you loved these air fryer donuts! Thank you for your feedback! If you ever get a chance. I would really appreciate your feedback on my blog! Thank you! :)
Thanks they look great!!
Thank you😊
Oh boy, air fryer donuts. My waistline will never recover from this.
Made these today and they were so good! I added cinnamon sugar to the glaze after, SO DELICIOUS! My whole family loved them. I also subbed corn syrup for honey and it worked perfect :)
I love the idea of the cinnamon sugar glaze! I'm so glad the recipe worked out well for you! Thank you for your tips :)
I glad to hear of a substitute for corn syrup. Corn syrup is not good for you.
Jonis Mills but it taste delicious! I’ve never had it on its own before and had bought some for a recipe project and i tried a bit and i couldn’t believe how delicious it was (I bought the wholesome corn syrup). I think a little bit isn’t such a big deal, unless you have it all the time on everything. All sugar is bad for you to be honest as I’m learning. Aside for fruit. These donuts as delicious as they look have loads of sugar! I’ll prob try it out anyway at some point wo eggs and dairy milk. At least they are homemade and not fried i suppose. Sugar is sugar though.
@@jonismills1836 neither are doughnuts maybe you shouldn't try this recipe
We made these today. They were fantastic. Thanks!
I'm so glad you liked them! Thank you for your feedback 😊
Just got an air fryer this week so I’ll have to try these! Thanks for the recipe:)
You will love the air fryer, let me know how it goes 😊
If you use honey to replace the corn syrup it tastes even more amazing! Thanks for the tasty recipe =)
You are very welcome :) Yes, honey is one of the replacements that you can use for the glaze :)
And healthier for you. I don't even have corn syrup so thanks for sharing.
Nicely done. The last “best air fryer doughnut recipe” I saw was just premade biscuits with a hole in them.
Thank you :) Ya biscuits aren't the same. I hope you get a chance to try these donuts :)
Yah we tried them. Nope. Not donuts. LOL!
So, I made these today -- not as yummy as Krispy Kreme, but pretty darned tasty! I had to get creative to make a cutter, so finally decided on emptying out a 12.5 oz. flat can of chicken for the 4" circle, and used a pineapple corer for the holes. I got 9 donuts from the dough. They took an extra minute in my new oven air fryer (just getting acquainted with it); however, I should have removed the cookie sheet on the shelf below because some were browned, others weren't. When I removed one to sample, I at first thought it was doughy -- but then decided it was just really tender! Thanks for the recipe and directions, Dina! My hubby loved them and wondered when I'd make the next batch -- I told him anytime at all, as long as he cleaned up the kitchen afterwards.
Haha, I love the deal you made with your husband 😊 I'm so glad you enjoyed the donuts! Thank you for taking the time to comment 🥰
Thank you for sharing. I am going to try this!
Let me know how it goes 😊
I just did this today and it was amazing and so soft!! Thank you for the recipe!!🍩🍩
You are so welcome! I am so glad you loved the recipe, thank you for your feedback 😊
@@SimplyHomeCooked hi! Do you have any tips on storing it so it doesnt turn hard so fast?
@@gimjingtan4500 Once the donut glaze has set, place them in an air-tight container to retain softness and freshness.
@@SimplyHomeCooked okay thanks!!
Bought an air fryer about a year ago to do an AF version of Popeyes sandwich. Have it down pretty close. Hope to add this donut version to my go to. Thanks
I hope you love this recipe! Enjoy :)
Curious as to which recipe you used?
@@mddell58 I watched a few videos from you tube for the breading and sauce for the sandwich. Adapted the time from what I gleaned from air fryer recipes for chicken breasts. I adapted it somewhat for our likings. Must tell you, it is very messy, but they really are pretty good. Made last night and not a speck left over. Last night didn’t get the brioche buns but used Sam’s croissants. Very good alternative. Also had used chicken tenders this time and was easy to piece together the meat to fit the bread.
@@los2834 please do share.
@@El-Wifer hey look under reply’s from earlier. Somewhere in here I threw out how I came to my version. Good luck
Yummmm. Thank you. I can’t wait to try
Hope you enjoy 😊
Can't wait to make them !!!
