OMG!! It is my 53rd birthday today and so glad I am still here as I beat Pancreatic cancer!!! I was asked what I want for a dessert and your video came right through...as if you were listening!!!!! I don't have much, but...TAKE MY MONEY!!! These look amazing and I can't wait to make them!!!!!
I’m patiently waiting on John to have his own show on Food Network!! How many of you are with me? John, you are so much easier to follow with explaining step by step as you prepare your recipes. I can closely follow you without getting off track or getting confused like I do a lot with others from other Food Network hosts. You’re so welcoming and people are drawn to your personality. You have everything it takes to have your own show and I for one would love to see it happen for you so much! Now, I’ve gotta save this recipe in my Preppy Kitchen playlist! ❤ Thanks for another great recipe!!! Much love from SC!
Many people are saying no to the idea of a network show because they don't want change. What about thinking about Jon and the major career achievement this would be for HIM? And how much more exposure he would get with his amazing gift of cooking and connecting with his recipes? I hope he does get a Network show if that is what he would like the direction his career to take.
I've made Oreo Truffles for well over 20 yrs. They are amazing. Ive used every Oreo and sandwich cookies there are. Nurtterbutters are fab, mint Oreos, and vanilla are all hits. I think it us easier to use the blender, pour in the cookies add the cream cheese and make the balls. Thanks for sharing
@@jeannettethompson3074 same exact way as oreos. Same weight (approx 19oz) of cookies, block of cream cheese, and melting chocolate. To garnish (if you're fancy), a sprinkle of nutter butter cookie crumble.
Pro tip: golden Oreos and mint Oreos make THE best Oreo balls. I make these all the time but never with regular Oreos. Regular Oreo balls are fine, but using other flavors takes it up several levels (I even made them with carrot cake Oreos and they're my husband's absolute favorite)
I've been making these for years. Add some peppermint extract 1 1/2 tsp or almond extract. Can also use crushed candy canes for the peppermint ones or colored sanding sugars to decorate them. Happy Holidays!
One of my students used Nutter Butter cookies, peanut butter (in place of frosting or cream cheese) and dipped them in milk chocolate. They were scrumptious!!! Sweet n salty - my fave!
Made these twice now, 1st for Christmas, 2 packs worth, wasn't enough; 2nd was asked to make for baby shower, made 2 packs of reg oreos and a pack of chocolate oreos, coated in white choc, milk choc, and some in pink vanilla coating and then drizzled with the 3 colors and stuck into pink styrofoam to make 2 bouquet centerpieces...everybody loved them and told me to sell them and/or open a Baking shop/website. I try out many of ur recipes.
For people who have problems with their hands or don’t have the strength to crush this or mix it by hand, I use my food processor. First I take my softened cream cheese & cut it into eight pieces, having it in pieces makes it less harder on the food processor. Next, I crush the Oreos. I put all of them in the food processor & pulse until they’re the consistency I want. Then I add the cream cheese pieces & pulse several times until it’s starting to blend, then let it run until it’s mixed well. It will begin to all come together like a dough ball. At this point you can remove the blade from the processor & leave the mixture in the bowl of the processor & begin to form the little round balls & follow the recipe just like Jeff is doing. I’m mentioning this because I have rheumatoid arthritis & fibromyalgia, but I still like to make treats for my family. So many times I need to make little changes to recipe directions, so I’m not completely miserable after I’ve made something.p
Adding the ingredients to my shopping list. I haven't to thought about these in ages. You're right. They are gloriously sinple and always delicious (especially is you leave out the potential of plastic bits!)
I love the candy wafer melts you chose because it just tastes better and they have not only white chocolate, but milk chocolate and dark chocolate as well which works great without having to temper the chocolate
Currently making these with my girls and we had a blast! We are all big fans of your channel, they always ask to watch all your new videos and shorts! Much love from a fellow 1st gen Mexican! 😊💗
*UPDATE* I made these for Christmas. My brother is hooked. He but into one and said all is right with the world.😂 Then our nieces got into it. My brother told me that I made him almost have to fight an 11 year old.😂🤣 Our youngest niece made a face when someone tried to give her a cupcake. She said no that’s NOT the one. She loves chocolate.😜 Again, thank you for ALL of your wonderful recipes.❤🤗
EVERYTIME I make these EVERYONE LOVES THEM! I get requests all the time. Great to make in summer as I do not have to use my oven when it is 115 outside. Preppy Kitchen is ALWAYS my go to for anything I want to make. John is the best!
The apron is so festive. Watching your videos makes me happy. I would love to see a farm tour one day. And I miss seeing your hubby and kiddos. I hope all is well. Happy holidays to you all.
I made these tonight and did each step as he did. They taste amazing. So delicious that I wish it wasn’t evening so I could take them to family so I don’t eat them all! My husband loves them too.
My husband requested we do activities everyday with our kids while on christmas vacation this year. He actually has it off with us and he is excited. I'm adding these to be list of things to make. Thanks!! ♡
I’ve been making these for years. I use my small chopper. Chops about 9 Oreos in 15 seconds. Get th3 family size pkg of Oreos. White bark is great but tried chocolate bark an they are great also. Throw in baggies an folks love them. I keep mine in the freezer. They do not harder and are Devine.
I tried this recipe before Christmas. I made the balls a little too big and not perfectly round but the were amazing!! I will definitely be trying again. Thanks John 😊
Made them today. They are delightful. I would recommend not crushing up the Oreos too much. We really liked the texture of chunky bits. We made a batch using Nutter Butters and using milk chocolate to dip them in. They aren't as sweet and the adults like them more.
Thx so much , I treat all my helpful & talented professional workers to a seasonal small casual get together & this by far is the best one seen yet ! Thanks so much !
Thank you, John! I've been making these for a long time. They're always good, but wasn't sure how to keep from the "pooling" mess after dipping them. And, I will be using chocolate chips to melt and drizzle on top!
I love Oreo cookies. I think I'll use white chocolate baking chips. Parchment paper a must have in my kitchen. Thank you for another easy and inexpensive dessert recipe. You're the best!🤩 Keep up the good work.
I enjoy your videos so much! Every time I watch, you always make me smile. Thank you for sharing another great recipe. Also, I've always worried about the plastic bag so this is great!
I use to make these every year through out high school and college for friends and favorite teachers. They have been affectionately dubbed 'jesus balls' by the inner circle, and I get requests for them every holiday. They're sooo good.
☃️🎄I put a large glass or stainless bowl on bottom then the heating pad and then the melting bowl on top. I start at high and as the chocolate starts to melt I turn it down to medium where it stays mostly. The best part is, it melts the chocolate without over heating and ruining the tempering. ☃️🎄
I had been thinking about looking up recipes for cake balls, feeling a craving for them. And that very same day when I got home, this video had been posted. Thank you for, I think, divine timing! I'm going to make these tomorrow with the GF oreos ^.^
There was a trick I learned to tempering chocolate and that's to not melt the whole batch at once. Take some of it, like a quarter or a third, and blitz it in a food processor until very fine and sprinkle that into melted chocolate. Since the pulverized chocolate wasn't melted, it retains the crystalline structure of the solid chocolate and allows you to seed the melted chocolate with that crystalline structure so it doesn't recrystallize randomly (chocolate has the ability to settle in 6 different crystalline forms, only one of which is the type chocolate is tempered into for bars and shells).
Rather than a "candy-melt dip" to coat, a yoghurt based dip? (7:45) Those yoghurt coated ingredients (?) in Muesli work well; Oreo Balls also have that rough texture.
I think I'm going to add a teaspoon of peppermint extract to the Oreos and cream cheese, and add tiny crumbles of soft peppermint candy on top. And I wanna try like a s'mores type with marshmallow fluff and cream cheese with graham crackers or biscoff cookies rolled in chocolate melting wafers. Wish me luck! This recipe looks amazing and ez 💕

No, please. I'm afraid networks would smother his personality. Let's just continue to enjoy him on here.
This content is free, and John gets complete control. Let's keep it this way.
The Food Network doesn't do cooking shows anymore. It's all contests now.

The red velvet Oreos were great to make these with also. It would be lovely if they'd bring those back !
