Best skate vid. So, true story here. I lived in Rome from 2002-2005. One night, went to dinner with a bunch of friends, showed up a bit late, and the only seat open was across from this blond guy. I hadn't seen his face yet, but when I sat down and looked up, holy shit. It's Owen Wilson. We had a blast that night, and then started hanging out almost every night for a couple months. He was filming The Life Aquatic at the Cinecitta studios. The narrator is right. Owen just has such a great vibe about him, and he's a ton fun to hang with. I was bummed when the film wrapped and he had to leave. Fast forward to when i moved back to the USA in 2006, and picked up a copy of Yeah, Right. I texted him when i saw this part, and he laughed his ass off. Said he had such a great time filming this segment. He told me his favorite parts were the unscripted ones. I hope this story didn't make any of you fall asleep.

I used to (and still do) film all the events and socials we go to for edits, and also have skated for the last 25 years, but the two never overlaped. None of the people i regularly hung out with were that into skating, and i didn't tend to socialise much with the local skate scene so there was never really anyone around for me to film

If you're still in your twenties and you're not overweight, you can definitely skate. You don't have to do any tricks just get confident at riding and pushing at different speeds and turning. Most of the fun is being confident in simply riding fast. I knew people who could do all sorts of tricks but could not ride like I did. If you've never skated before it's awkward but you will quickly get comfortable at it, then practice turning quickly by slightly picking up the front of the board and pivoting to either side. One fun thing to get good at is doing 180's by simply dragging one end around while riding. If you have no friends to skate with like the good old days, it's ok to skate alone with some music. I started in my driveway, learned to Ollie in my garage lol anyway I'm reminiscing now lol take care.
