I don't understand how people can hate on Nijah for his style being 'too perfect.' He has insane skill; that is all that matters. It is so weird how they find anything to hate on him.
nah he's a sellout that's why
I’m not a fan of his style but it’s still dumb to hate the guy
People don't like the fact that he skate competition. Apparently some skaters don't like Tony Hawk either. Love em or hate them they both skate legends and household names
Who cares who doesn't like who. Hate or not, everyone knows the truth
If the jah wore baggy clothes and filmed vfx he’s be everyone’s favorite. Most people don’t base their opinion of skaters off of skill level they base it off totally subjective metrics.
The casual "Schilling NFTs" made me lol. Ive been to the need that ender rail and i was once again mind blown to see how much gnarlier it is in person
The frist one is just crazy, absolute insane! Never seen anything as crazy as that!
Yeah I literally thought it was fake as first and was like "NO FUCKING WAY?!!" 😳
It is fake watch the video lol
🤦♂️
Frankie Hill did the 1st notable drop. It's pretty much well documented. I think it's in the Powell video "8". It was mind bending at the time and still is pretty gnarly as he appears to hover a little from the grab. Frankie Hill ftw.
Not Eight, it was on Propaganda I think, the one before Eight.
Frankie Hill was the OG of going big!
Was just going to say, Frankie was way ahead of everyone. Also the Gonz was ollieng off everything in the mid 80’s.
Was about to do the same
Laban Pheidas ollied some big dropoffs in the early 90s
Yeah. Somehow this missed Frankie Hill’s ollie, the original world-renowned most massive gap of all time, in the biggest video at the time. Probably “the ollie heard ‘round the world” even more than the un-landed Leap of Faith.
That Jaws block jump on the waterfront is in Louisville, KY at waterfront park. I drive by that spot 4-5 times a week. Went to go look at it a few years ago after seeing the Jaws clip, those block steps are massive. It looks much bigger in person once you see how high up it is.
Zack Gerber also barspinned it on a bike.
The only time I went to louisville where I had the chance to check the spot out myself, i hopped up on the blocks to view from the actual launch point. It was honestly insane.
Mann!!! I'm originally from Lexington!!
Moved to Orlando FL.
On tour with my band!! I actually did a life goal and got ink (a tat) in Louisville (which is ur from KY, you kno its pronounced "Lullvull" not Louis-Ville or LOOSIE-ville LMADO!)
But MANN!!! of I was still touring I'd get the Pirates to take me there in a lil down time!! Before we were LOCK STEP AND GONE off to another state for another show!!
He’s the Goat of hitting big gnarly shit imo
@@xx7secondsxx ayyy, thats sick! What band're you in? i'll give you guys a listen!
Still props to Jamie Thomas. He set the field we have now. An absolute legend that inspired me to do my biggest 13 stair land back when I was 17. 43 now, and I’d rather take bone collagen supplements than do that again 😂 still got that 13 Stair rail K grind landed too 🤙🏻 it’s only because he showed us that going massive was possible back then. Kids be shredding so much more these days, and it’s frocking awesome how the level has been lifted.
Absolutely. Besides the drop stuff, Jamie Thomas and Chad Muska are hugely influential on the particulars of modern street skating. They didn't invent street by any means, but they refined the style to primarily be handrails/hubbas, stairs, and gaps, and variations of grinds and flips on those. As opposed to the more "tech" style that a lot of street skaters did before them on smaller obstacles. Seriously if you watch old 90s skate videos (which I often do) and then watch modern parts from pros like Huston and Chris Joslin, the influence of Thomas and Muska on modern street style is undeniable
How are the bone collagen supplements working for you?
Chad Muska set the field to where it's at today...
I just bought a new board at 43 after 25 year break. Excited and nervous to roll again
I remember seeing Nyjahs first part when he came about, I was just stunned and those dreads went hard! Glad to know he is still setting the bar and winning skate comps!
Jamie Thomas inspired me too pick up a skateboard back in 1994 when I was 14
I skated for 8 years at shopping center car parks, in cities, at skate parks, on the street, and it was a great part of my teenage and early 20s life
Love how they're new ledgends still being made.... like the Miami Leap of Faith! New one to put into the skatespot's list
As an European the measurements in foot leaves me with no idea of how wide these gaps are 😁😂
About 2-3 Big Macs
@@SkateOrDie seems about right
@BeerDrinker_69 dividing and multiplying by 3 is actually how you get yards. Not meters.
Not to say your advice is wrong, it's just amusing how dumb the American measurements really are.
@@THICCTHICCTHICC Meters and Yards are pretty much the same thing, (1 meter is 1.09 yard.) I shoot MOA and MRAD so I'm aware 👍 And I agree on the Standard system but I use mils for shooting and everything I drive is metric lol.
you should try Google, or maybe learning a single conversion factor, or just generally stop being dumb, but we get it Nils, ur European
Great compilation ! Thanks for sharing 🙏🍹
He has returned!
I know right
The blunt to blunt was definitely amazing to see.
I had a Nijah deck. have respect for the shorts alone lol
last night I did a blunt to blunt to blunt to Ben and Jerry's
Great video, needed something like this
Amazingly instructive good job man you really get me in this one ! New sub ! ♡
Great video , really enjoyed it 👍 😀
You know it’s a bad obsession when you have watched every one of his videos
I’m happy you warned not to try these at home because I was already going for it 😮
Like Frank Reynolds says "Go for it go for it"
Nice video dude keep up the great work
I'll never forget when Henry did that kinked rail.
Thanks for covering past and present hoghlights of skaters who have made history. Keep them coming! 🛹👊
Hoghlights lol
Skateboarding ages you a lot!! It’s amazingly brutal!
I would've loved to see some Steve Caballero shots, he was a pioneer in long rails slides and grinds.
the tribal mindset in hating on Nyjah is unreal.
I'm surprised this video has only 918 likes. This was an awesome video. Mixing some history and old school skaters with the new school. Thumbs up 👍
Probably because the guy's a complete poser
Thanks for a video man !
Amazing best of 👍👏
letss gooo another vid from the goat!
8:45 i counted 8 kinks including the one he didnt hit at the very beginning due to having to olly onto it. Man..ive watched the sessions of him trying it and my lord did he get beat up every way possible. It was truly an example of heroic perseverance.
yuppiie another well put together video
great video man
How Nijah's team scouted those rails for his newest vid is the craziest part
Wallenberg is 4.3 ft high and 7.5 ft long? You must not be aware that you said that. Good video. Shows the courage, toughness, and mental strength skaters poses.
For the record, it’s 4.3 feet high by 16.5 feet long (that’s about 1.35 by 5.25 m). Wallenberg is insanely long for it’s height
Man the biggest gap I ever hit was a 10 stair in Norcross, GA when I was a freshman in high school. I can still feel the impact thinking back. I also ollied the 3rd stair of the Atlanta 4, I was too much a puss to do the whole thing 😂 man I miss those days.
I think David Gonzales deserves some honourable mentions when it comes to rails
This is fire 🔥
How the fuck does Frankie Hill get no love. That dude was sending before any of those guys. Godfather!
Let's go love the video it is sick
"need that" nyja got that dooooog in him for that. hes too good
Finally uploads
I like this guy 🪵
Amazing video
Wallenberg is not only 7.5 ft in length lol. It’s 4 feet 4.8 inches in height and a length of 16 feet 6 inches.
I went there in person for the first time yesterday and DAMN does it look MUCH bigger in person 😢 (and yes I tried it and no of course not I didn't land it)
HEY your back after a month missed u
Welcome back!
Awesome vid
NEED THAT is the best video part in Skateboarding history.
yo the 180 no pop grind was so sick
Wow hes back after a month
Crazy moves.
Nyjah really does have some Narley slams.. Oak just goes for it. Let the haters say what they want. He's a Legend of Skating..
How can you Forget Dave Bachinksy Kickfip on El Toro I feel like it doesn't get talked about enough
Right. I still remember seeing that for the first time way back then and couldn't believe it. Growing up El Toro was always like the pinnacle of sets.
oh word, I forgot about that 💯
Still the only flip trick landed down it
@@JayTheHelmetGuy Jaws did a kickflip melon and Joslin pretty much did a 360 flip
Cause he’s from the east coast
Yes my favorite UA-camr posted
The gnarliest thing about big rails is having the ability to bail them relatively safely. People don’t understand how much skill it takes to not die on rails that big if u bail lol
Those highschool stairs jamie thomas jumped are in tony hawks proskater 1 too
Nyjah with that mid-crook 180 swing tho. It's art.
The nyjh crooked 180 is def the sickest shit ever. Except maybe kick flip to backside nose blunt.
Yooo he posted!!
David Gonzalez’ Posessed to Skate part should at least get an honorable mention 😁
Is the high school mentioned in this video the same as the one in Tony Hawk's? Is it look really similar
0:37
Yes please.
That sht is AMAZING
Who is this lmao
Idk who told you that Wallenberg is 7.5 feet long, but that’s completely incorrect. Each step is roughly the length of a person.
The jaws blocks are on the water front in Louisville when I was a kid I seen so many ppl try that 20 stair
0:37 GYATT
dawg i gotta live vicariously through your vids i just broke my ankle skating last night plz be careful people
gl bro, just got done healing my broken ankle
I broke my penis skating; landed on a rail and a loud POP, and now it curves slightly to the right and has a bulge on it. ALso, I had two ankle surgeries as a result of skating; blew my ankle out when I was in high school from a mere 5 stair. I landed so weird, the board and truck landed on my ankle and I landed on the ground, but the board kept going and bent my ankle past its normal range of motion. Had to have a surgery to shave the bone off since the bones of my ankle were rubbing together
It happens. Gotta keep those ankles straight man :)
Also make sure to strenghten them when u've recovered man. Can help a ton
jus split my finger open but skate or die dropped a new vid😎
That first trick holy smokes.
This is the most insane thing I've ever seen 6:20
Fr right???
Nah bro is trippin; responded to himself💀
The Wallenberg stairs were popular in the 90s. Gonz was the first to Ollie them
the closer in the vans Kyle Walker/unchained melody part will be forever burned into my mind.
You missed the huge drop Frankie Hill did at the end of his part in the Powell Peralta film Propaganda. As a skater who loved to Ollie off massive drops this one is the stuff of legend.
Agreeng Completely
My knees hurt watching this
jace skates my local and has always been one of the best skaters ive ever known
Hey big dawg i just started skating after 8 months any tips
Chest up.
Haven’t watched you in so long because I thought that you quit UA-cam but I’m back
love or hate his personality, you cant, with a serious face deny nyjahs skill man. hes so sick.
Dam Orion really be living rent free in other youtubers heads 😂😂
Nyjah pulled a FS Overturn on the Rail in Til Death
"Longer than Nick Cannons list of baby mamas" 🤣🤣🤣
Still props to Jamie Thomas. He set the field we have now. An absolute legend that inspired me to do my biggest 13 stair land back when I was 17. 43 now, and I’d rather take bone collagen supplements than do that again still got that 13 Stair rail K grind landed too it’s only because he showed us that going massive was possible back then. Kids be shredding so much more these days, and it’s frocking awesome how the level has been lifted.
Love the vid but you should post more often
Will be doing so over the next few weeks.
Alright bro
Bro no way he himself replied to MY comment let’s go
That bail @13:00 was wild 😂😂
I never knew anyone skated down THAT set at the Nashville legislative building, I’ve just seen people skate the bank ledge things and the other set then ledges down below the other stairs 😳
You also have to account for run-up and roll-out area area and pavement/concrete quality.
1:16 is that the leap of faith from thps2?
macba 4 block was, now its 3 block ! Gread vid. Tx.
Dope....
🔥🔥🔥
One person that isnt in the video is Danny way, hes one of the goats for real
Thanks
He Bs crooked that rail and the down part brother!
Missed joslins 360 flip over the davis gap and miltons kickflip into the carwash bank. Also ishod bigspin love gap
Average stair step is 7-1/2". I fell off a telephone pole working, thankfully I was a skater for many years and landed on my feet, approx. 25-30', I landed good, but crushed both heals and fractured a vertebra. Anything over 10-15 foot you enter a new lever of risk.
Frankie Hill had some big ones, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen them. 🤔😬
🔥🔥
Everytime I see footage of Jaws my knees start hurting. Dude is going to need some replacements later in life.
Jamie thomas is from my home town of dothan, Alabama. It gives me hope.
What about Frankie Hill!!! He was the original Pioneer. He should've been mentioned.
People really be hating on Nyjah because he’s too good and lands his tricks too clean..🤦🏼♂️ smh
