- Found the primary jet on the aftermarket 32mm carb, of course it is not a common jet, I do not have a small enough drill so I tapered the end by peening while rolling it. Also drilled out the main jet so it is very close but on the rich side which I rather be. Now I believe my muffler is too small, sounds like a jet engine when I hit ¾ throttle, And I was right, the muffler pipe was too small and restrictive, put the bigger muffler on and it runs mint! did A proper oil change on mini too, Mobile 1 oil filter amzn.to/3CmmnWx
The primary jet on the stock carb is in the same location, just not the same jet

The question you asked is too professional 😂 - translation "I'm sorry we don't have any idea how we made this or what it does"
Yep...hat does it do on the part we copied?
This supercharger series of videos is gonna be popular 👍🏼
It's fun too!
Great series on the boost mods. Can’t wait for the tiny tonka rematch!
Mini can't wait either!
Liked, commented & subscribed! I am looking forward to the race with tiny tonka.
Thank you! I haven't heard from Jeffro.... Yet
I have to say I love the vids you do on modifying Mini. It looks like a Sema show car now compared to what you started with. 😅😅👍
A dirty dirty Sema show car rom the wrong side of the tracks.😂😂😂
😆👍🧀🧀
Except Mini actually runs!
Doing 62 in Mini must be like she's flying.
It is!!!
You know if you expand your mouse catch and release program I believe there may be Federal carbon credits for that. that muffler sounds like my 54 Int.. perfect.. Being Rich you won't burn your valves...
😆😆 carbon credits! It does sound like a tractor 😁
Damn, comment #4...as a (mechanical) explorer, it looks like you're heading into that part of the map that sez..."There be dragons." 🐲
At the very least, nothing went SPROING this episode. 😉👍
This has been my favorite series of videos. Great content!
Love what you are doing with Mini! I am looking at doing a similar supercharger set up on my old Datsun 1200, so this really interesting to me!
The amr500 is good up to 2 l, the amr300 is good up to 1.2 so I'm not sure if you'd want to just go for the 500 if you have a little more room it's a little longer. Thanks!
Meep beep!
Tiny tonka! You better do more than Apollo, because Super-mini has the eye of the tiger, and comin for you brother!
'ill be honest. I was scared poopless when you picked that mouse up. Whew! Hate mice. I'll take snakes anyday!'
For sure
You should put that thing on the dyno
Once I am all done I may do that!
You can always call G&R imports they might be able to help you with the clicking noise or anything else you need.
I think I'm just going to bypass and hook it keyed on power... Has to be idle control of some sort
That rich blip is probably just the transition from idle circuit to main circuit. It might be unavoidable if the carb is running at the edge of its limits to fueling and air ratio.
And it's drawing through a supercharger!
@@MotoCheez Yes ,this could make it worse. If you do not spend much time in tis range soot probably will not be a problem. Maybe someday FI systems like mega squirt will be an option for you. I love carbs but I love tbi and FI. Fun to play with too.
Last time I checked, nothing available from anyone for 3 cylinder. That was the first big upgrade I wanted to do
@@MotoCheez There might be some generic motorcycle units that would fit the bill for flow and HP rating. Ill check.
@@MotoCheez yea it looks like it is not an option. I did not see much. A consistent stoichiometric ratio is worth a little power but probably not worth the cost in this app.
I intend to keep my 5 speed S110P Hijet engine stock, but damn I love these mini truck videos. Thank you for sharing your great mini truck videos. A little boost made Mini more awesomer.
I'm not worthy... You rock!
Hahaha. Wut!
Motocheez, Mouse Chukka.
Hahah 🐭🚮
I think we have to start calling her the mini super truck now.
SuperMini! A few said it 💪🧀
"It's only stupid if it doesn't work." That's the motto I've lived my life by. LOL :)

I like that the "efi" computer is Cheezy with a hammer.
this build keeps getting better and better 👌
Brilliant video
😁😁😁😁👍🧀🧀
Thanks for the Banger! my day is now complete!
Good morning Cheezy!
Good morning! 🌄
I like your effort and patient to set up the supercharger 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Awwww s#!@ you made a clean spot.
Well can't stop now, gotta clean the whole shop.
you may want to add an oil catch can so you dont mess up your supercharger
No blowby at all yet, surprisingly
Opinions may vary but I shoot for an afr of around 10.5 to 11 on a fuel injected, turbocharged and intercooled 4 cylinder under full boost. Of course compressor efficiency and pressure will be different with mini but I sacrifice fuel economy for protection from detonation. Richer would be better without intercooling or water/meth injection to protect from detonation which is what will cause much damage.
Settlin🤣 torch tip cleaner for your jetting cleanup, underdrive the supercharger to stop the belt from slipping and make mini more drivable, bounce sheets are supposed to be good to keep rodents out of your storage, it could be back firing through the EGR, just a thought don't have to do it good video hope you get a lot of views 😁
The money's here eat the dryer sheets, I've tried everything. I never did think about the EGR pushing out but that is a possibility it's not connected but it's still there I should make a block off plate, great suggestion
Woohooo Tiny gonna get left behind! Haha
No doubt
cheesy mornin bud!!
Good morning! 🧀
You sir are a cheezy evil genius! 😈
mini is coming along nicely; tonka's in trouble. :-)
2 stroke subaru carb. you can plumb fuel to the oil injector and use it as a dial-a-jet
Ahh I see
Gonna be sweet when its all dialed in.
Good Cheez. Meep meep.
Meep! 🧀🧀💪
Great content as ever!! .. Assuming you are retired and living the dream?

Awesome series, I always like the mini truck videos. Fyi if your rich in the cold you'll be way richer in the summer. And I'd pop in new plugs boost eats them up about 10 times faster. You might be spot on if there getting weak. Keep up the good work man!
Thanks
Good Morning Cheez!
Good morning 🌄
BTW, you're 1st!
@@MotoCheez Giggity!
Plot twist...the Tiny Tonka is getting a stealth nitrous kit installed.
I wouldn't put it past Jeffro!
👍
Rock out cheesy awesome video.
I did notice in a lot of jetting there is a more restricted area of the jet similar to Venturi in the carburetor.
It's easier seen on bigger Jets they're not usually just a hole.
I like cute little mice
NOT IN THE GARAGE ...
Yeah, no venture holes in this one. I've seen that on motorcycles too. Haha mouse flying
👍👍👍👍👍
🧀🧀🧀🧀
Those afr look great for boost because when you go wot it's going to go leaner
What do you mean?
No fair. I'm only making 5 psi max lol glad to see yours up and going though!! Great job 👍🏻
5psi in what?
@@MotoCheez my blue micro van.
Oh ya!
I see an "add-on" (old school) over-drive unit getting added, to "release the hounds!!" of top end performance. Did you swap out to colder plugs yet? Now, remember, working that brass will harden it and cause it to become brittle. Anneal it to soften it, to avoid the cracking. Mini's definitely gonna be on the hunt for Tiny Tonka (the little cougar).
No room for the overdrive box. Drive shaft is like 8" long 😁. I don't get colder plugs yet. Yeah forgot about the brass hardening!
The Chuck Yeager of MiniTrucks…
Just ordered stuff from your website🙌
What you building?
@@MotoCheez I just got some Merch and a couple stickers for my RC KEI truck
Awesome thanks. 🧀🧀🧀
Those same children cheer for me when I clear off an area.
They're not around too often.
MMm hmm 🔪
Time for some bigger tires!!!
I have the biggest tires I will fit on there!
the carburetor part you were referring to is called a dash pot
Thanks... I remembered finally yesterday 😆
Hey a dirty shop is a well used one. As long as the Misses isn't bitching why cares what other people think? 😅😅
It drives me nuts when it gets so cluttered though, no room to work 😁
@@MotoCheez Oh I get that. I paint figurines and models as a hobby and my work area is a disaster. 😅 Problem is I clean it up and it turns right back into one cause I'd rather be working than cleaning. 😅 I've had to start a mantra of "1 minute now vs 4 hours later" when it comes to cleaning to keep it half way decent lately now that I'm getting back into it again. Its kinda working.😅
found out that a nibbi pe28mm is MUCH LARGER than a pz30mm. gotta pay attention Motomeat headt!!!
heat up the brass to anneal it
probably would make the crack not apear for next time :D
i so want these mini truck
Need a larger emulsion tube jet
👍👊
💪🧀
Back before widebands I tuned using EGT's and there is a very steep hill close by, hit the bottom of the hill at about 20 mph in high gear and creep up on full throttle while watching your exhaust temp, that quickly exposed a bad tune! Chasing the right AFR is just part of using carbs and when it gets warm out you will be doing it again. Be careful Jeff might throw a turbo on Tonka!
I climbed a huge to my long steep Hill today that I could barely get 30 mph and did 45 easily quarter throttle 6 lb of boost, lean into the throttle once just to see and it definitely would climb up near 50. Engine temps stay lower than they did when I used to do it with the stock carb on it
@@MotoCheezRunning cooler for probably two reasons, one you're not having to run it as hard the other is your cooling down the engine more because it's running far more rich than factory.
I assumed same. Did a 2 Mike hill climb and it didn't heat up at all today
Jeffrey gonna ls swap tiny tonka now🚚👍🇺🇲
😆🤣😂. Nah, we will supercharge Tonka too!
Moto and the "mighty mini"kicking trail and taking names.. mini's running great moto... maybe you can put a taller gear for fourth gear... mini needs a thrush muffler.
Thanks, getting parts to add and taller gear for fourth is going to be very difficult oh, I'm okay with the speed it's at I don't really need to be going over 65 mph with this anyway. I put a thrush muffler on a while back it was way too loud I took it off. I still want to be somewhat quiet this Toyota muffler seems to have plenty of flow
@@MotoCheez i agree.. more than 65 is a waste... but mini is doing great.. maybe she will do better when you fix that exhaust leak.
Plus my tires are rated at 50 mph I believe so you don't want to go too much over that for too long anyway
@@MotoCheez very true... they're kinda like those spare tire ratings for most cars these days...
I've been on road a lot, but just for testing really, want for offroad!!!
That toyota filter is far better than that mobile 1. Watch some filter reviews about the toyota filter.
I do remember seeing the Toyota makes an excellent filter compared to others and I forget the brand maybe it was wix, but the mobile one high-end always thought that the highest ratings. I could be wrong
Since you have multiple gauges buy a fuel pressure gauge
Wow...Awesome, that turned out farken great..Think Micky has the bone a Rona....It's tough work being a trophy husband, I'm going to take the e-bike out for a cruise, just upgraded the controller to the BAC 8000 72 volts, does about 60 mph, fun, fun, fun....
I looked into those e-bikes a few times, I do want to dabble in that area
@@MotoCheez You''ll love them..Get a good mountain bike, they make the best e-bikes, full suspension or hard tail off craigslist or similar platform, that's your best bet...Something with hydraulic disc brakes, is best, but not necesary. Order the Bafang 1000 watt BBSHD mid drive motor kit, or CYC equivalent and a battery, and your set..Then you can get into the after market and increase torque and top speed..Out of the box, you get 35mph for road riding, on average, and a fun trail bike...With no gas to buy..I have a solar set up, so it's sun powered...Got a rack on the back and use it for a grocery getter and to run errands, and to just destroy the trails...I wouldn't buy one already built, not worth it..
Definitely going to be doing some more research on it. Thanks for the info
And then build a lithium battery pack for it. That'd make for good content.
WHAT'S UP mini truck??
Whoaa...ohhh
Have you thought of buying a "Jewelers Drill" that is hand operated with bits within the End Cap?
Maybe HFT would have one...
The day I made the video I ordered a set of micro drills with the little hand pin holder, should be here today. I did see harbor freight carry them also
Work hardened the brass maybe?… maybe next jet heat the tip it up and cool down now and and then while hammering? Maybe worth a try?
I ordered the micro drill set so I'll probably solder the end and drill it smaller but from what I could see it's pretty darn close to what it has to be so I'm going to leave it, last two test drives it ran perfect
:-) This one technically could have been THE definitive "THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!" compilation video. All those tapers and hole sizes??!? X-) You could have literally used it every 5 seconds! X-)
I know!!
@@MotoCheez i think I need a "RATED I" t-shirt. lol
😂👍👍🧀🧀
Under full boost in my evo back when I built it mid 11-12 was good afr for full boost, mid 14's was for cruising under no boost or little. Not sure if thats standard or what.
14 is supposed to be no load cruising, I am pretty close I think it's 13.8 average but I'll keep it a little rich and just keep an eye on the plugs. 11 and 12 lb of boost is pretty good
@@MotoCheez oh no it was at 40lbs of boost but under load the air fuel ratio was 11-12. yea a tad rich is a good thing. if its cruising at 13.8 under no load id be totally satisfied.
there are two-stroke engine for older carry models
Yes, I figured it was for those too, but where's the tube for the oil to go in! Has one and it's ventury
Taller tires in the back would change your gear ratio a little now that you have more power baby
4x4 though. Biggest I can fit on there already! 25"
lol dump run?! if those trailer fenders arent rotted out Ill come get them!
You can have them!
First get rid of those radiator hoses they're collapsing and also causing you problems and check your fuel status how much pressure you're getting to the carbs you're probably not getting enough or too much
Have the proper hose and fittings due here in next day or 2, pressure gauge on the list, but float style I'd worry about volume running out. Pressures don't matter as much because float bowl, it's not injected.
@@MotoCheez I was going to say a junk yard with any late 80 - mid 90s turbo eclipse and talon had a rubber hose for the plumbing on there turbo models if there was a yard near you with them. They ran like 10-15psi on there tiny turbos on them. I think they were 2in id or slightly larger and could be cut up as needed.
just curious, Cheez... Did you adjust your plug gap for boost? I've usually had good luck closing plug gap with extra cylinder pressure.
It has weird plugs, I have not closed the gap yet, I
Time to change tire for better grip and avoid noise traction too on speeding away, I guess.
Nah, I want for offroad mostly still
i said that about the belt. and mower blades turn between 2700 and 3200 rpm. reasons unrelated your troubles.
Did you see somewhere it's not for high RPM? I would just like to know for my own information... These belts are rated "heavy duty"Aramid, and have bottom laminate for back side style idlers which I am putting on soon.
my mower has 2x larger drive pulley than I have on mini too
We used them at a factory I worked at on high RPM motors high torque and they worked great..
Either way, the belt is working 19x better than the rubber belts.
@@MotoCheez i'm trying to figure out how to put it in words to not confuse you. OR not make me look like a idiot.. what they mean by heavy duty is they can take getting hit by sticks wire and vines stuff that will tear up a normal belt. i just turned 60 and my first job was at a lawn mower shop . and i did that and helped a friend that had the largest snapper dealer ship in the USA for years. plus most lawn mover belts have a different pitch to the V shape. i'm sure you can google it pretty easy.
AUTO belts are made to be really tight so they dont clip. and a mower belt are not made to run real tight. so if they get caught on something it can slip not to break. if you run into high grass it can kill your engine. or choke it down but if you have a none slip belt it can break the belt no warning or worse break a crank shaft twist a hub shaft.
www.vbelts4less.com/blog-standard-vs-kevlar-v-belts
Aramid is a kevlar belt. I Google all over and it's used for superchargers and back pulley applications which I am and will be doing..
The belt I put on has been working flawlessly and not stretching like the standard rubber cord belt. 3 days and a lot of miles and it's working perfectly.
Exactly what do you think is going to happen because I am using a kevlar belt? Not arguing with you but I've been a maintenance and automotive, motorcycle etc mechanic over 35 years and used them in high torque applications many times.
Let nature take its course hahahahaha. Love it.
The tiny jet is idling jet
Yes
If im not mistaken, subaru sambars have temperature meters in the exhaust? Not sure if I am wrong but wouldnt be that bad to put one on your exhaust system
I have a mechanical one here I can throw in there. The ones I drive didn't but good idea!
And... I did order a dual temp gauge for suction and boost monitoring.
changing the spark plugs help with rich or lean?
It's rich, but have to run cooler plugs in a boosted vehicle
the next time you go to tractor supply get you a gallon bucket of TOMCAT pellets that is the only thing i found that will 100% get rid of them nasty things.
I get the bait blocks. I need to buy more!
@@MotoCheez i tried the bait blocks but the pellets killed more rats. i guess one rat would eat the block alone. i dont know for sure
Good to know. I like the blocks because I chuck them under stuff
Successful boost so far. How has it affected fuel consumption ?
So far it doesn't seem to be bad, maybe a little more useage. Will find out once I'm done horsing around with it
@@MotoCheez Enjoying mini-truck series. Let's see if Tonka gets her clock cleaned, and if she does I wonder will she get boosted?
He wanted to see how mine turned out before he decided to do his, so I believe he probably will end up doing tiny tonka
Hey Mr.Moto I have a dilemma with my brakes on my mini (Mitsubishi minicab '92) the fronts engage and won't look et go....pads & rotors are good and I took the calipers off and apart cleaned and greased the sliders(no rust) then I pressed all the fluid out of each caliper thinking a piece of sediment could be blocking the fluid and that didn't work so I'm stumped.... Any suggestions...?
Both front calipers will not release? I have seen collapsed brake hoses cause that, but normally is one side at a time. And check your adjustment on the brake pedal it could be adjusted too tight and not letting the valve open up to release back into the reservoir
@@MotoCheez time to fire up the Woodstove in the geerage and start swearing, thanks man good luck boosting....! Oh and I put a Polaris sportsman 800 muffler on my mini and the only way you know it's running is because the motor vibrates ! Quiet Quiet
Did you remove piston from the calliper during clean or just depress? Sediment can hide behind pistons that’s not flushed out with a normal bleed.
What speed are your tires rated for?
Dot 50 I believe
might want to look into a honda 90's alu dual row rad.
lol, valvoline vr1 10w40 or rotela t4 5w40 not the biggest fan of a 15w. takes too long to get to the bearings, but im just paranoid.
1 more gear u say?...time to talk to gear venders about a micro overdrive unit 🤣
If I left the truck outside I would definitely worried about the 15 weight oh, if I do have any heating issues I will definitely look into that radiator if it'll fit and there's no room to add on to the end of the tailstock to drive shaft is literally 6 in Long. I did think about that
@@MotoCheez well time to get a new 8.8 ford rear end like hoonigan did 🤣
Haha. No way! I'm good at the power it's at
Hmpf. Seems you are lean between shifts. I guess yeah maybe a butterfly/throttle buffer/shock absorber is a possibility like you were talking about, but I would first go for an adjustment of your idle mix screw first.
Idle is high, going to be lean between shifts unless I can install a dashpot....
I know this is hindsight, but if you used a pipe cutter to cut that primary jet off it would have probably pinched it down smaller when you were cutting it. Do they sell kits for those primary jets? EDIT- Took the part out about microdrills Didn't watch all the way through before posting.
Pipe cutter a great idea! I did order a micro drill kit. I can't find any infor on this carb to get the primary, you saw how they answered.... Lol
is it a 2 stroke carb ?
I think it's a universal carburetor for the 660 Daihatsu engine oh, and they were two strokes a long time ago. But I don't know where the actual injection for the oil would go into this carburetor I don't see any other ports except the one which is Venturi vacuum
Better put a roll cage in that truck.
👍👍
Can you get a bigger pulley?
Yes, but I'm keeping the setup I have for now. Ordered dual temp kit for intake and discharge pipe
Racers run superchargers rich.
5-Speed Swap?
I would love to, but typically to 5-speed does not have the transfer case with high and low. It has a granny gear. But if I can ever find one I would love to
Fuel pump sensor? When it's at it's max?
Not sure if mini has an electric fuel pump.
That's on the list of gauges, matching 2 1/8" boost vacuum gauge coming today, have dual temp discharge pipe gauge coming.. fuel pressure soon! It's a mechanical pump
@@MotoCheez right on. For the clicking under the glove box. Maybe a sensor for fuel or oil. Was just a thought.
It definitely has something to do with that fuel cell annoyed on a carburetor I looked at the box and there's no hoses or anyting going to it's all just the plug with six wires so it must be electronically sensing something for the idle like the RPMs or something oh, I just ran a switched wire to that cell annoyed for now to test it
WUMT
“I don’t know how they boost the shit out of it”……yah guilty! 27.5 PSI and that was very conservative on a motor that cost more than the average daily driver!🤣🙃🤫
Damn! I get nervous up at those boosts.
@@MotoCheez the smiles and thrill erases all that tension 😝
Your going to have to do a cam swap on Mini to get more RPM. What are the tires rated at? Max speed?
The tires are rated 59 or 60 I don't recall, I can rev 6500 but I'd have to do more then a cam swap, I'd have to balance crank etc, not doing all that lol
@@MotoCheez I would bet real money that someone in Japan does a performance head and intake for that engine.
I bet you're right!
A carb is a carb. Buy a cv40 for a Harley sportster 1200 on eBay. I got 2 for a project for 120$..
I almost did the Harley carb, past 2 days it's running so good I don't think I need to for now. But never know 😁
