- So I ran a wire direct to the carb solenoid that stays on with the key on and mini ran perfect today! Did a 2 mile hill in 4th geat I could barely do 30mph and made it 45 plus ¼ throttle with power to spare. When I stepped on it to ¾ throttle it climbed even faster!
Boost vacuum gauge installed, dual temp monitor for suction and boost on supercharger on its way too.

Hijet Climber Mini-truck, this one is a 1992, 7th Gen, S83P, 660cc Minitruck. The “climber” means it has rear axle lock.
S83p specs:
660cc 6 valve 3 cyl engine 48-53hp carburated
weight: 1500 lbs (dry)
length 10'8" (128"). width 4'6" (54") w/o mirrors. Height 5'10" (70")

Attagirl Mini !! She's struttin' her stuff now (the little cougar). Those cart recovery gadgets (coin op) are smart. Gets people to bring their carts back, and keeps few more of them where they belong... in the store's lot/property.

So far so good but I'm guessing that you've hit the wall, performance-wise (no sense in provoking Murphy's Law 😉).
Aldi's is a BFD in my area (the older 'tiny' stores are getting phased out for the 'super-aldis') and I try to shop there as often as possible...their German Roast coffee IS da bomb. You did the smart thing by shopping early for Turkey Day (food) ammo. 👍

You worked it out..sounds seems to indicate a great idle. That Aldi has insane low milk prices and somtimes has honey mustard pork rinds, which I haven't found anywhere else. Interesting short cut off 7 by Sunny Valley Preserve.

The keychain logo of my car pops out and can be used as shopping cart "quarter". Forgot it once in a cart, had to go back. Kinda too valuable for the job, but hey, gotta have some risks in life. Oh and next to the shifter there are 5 slots for holding shopping cart "quarters", but better be careful vacuuming the car then. Plenty of plastic keychain quarter-replacements exist, too 😄.

The map software on your smart phone will normally give you aa gps speed. Not perfect, but it would let you recalibrate the speedo. On my Hijet, I just bought a $25 gps speedometer with heads up display. Works really well.
That's what I'm using on my - but it's a little slow updating when you're trying to do speed tests
yup I love that turbo on my van it locks in up hills and makes it do 75 it's all strong and revs to 7 it rips.
We need to look into a better organization/storage place for MINI's Interior!
I have it pretty used up with a little milk crate on floor and army satchel in between seats . But any ideas are welcome. Very small inside

Speed Limiters - its time we had the talk. Your speedo counts pulses of engine revs and vehicle speed. When it decides you have reached the limit 3 things happen. 1, it limits spark by grounding the coil. 2. it turns off the fuel shutdown in the carb. 3. it turns off the fuel pump. Best way to defeat the system is to rip out the timer module and replace it with a standard relay. its usally somewhere near the glovebox in the dash. {just replacing the igniter with an HEI isnt enough to defeat the entire system}
I didn't know they had limiters! I haven't hit it yet, and I don't plan on going much faster. The mechanical fuel pump doesn't have anything to shut off fuel, nor a valve anywhere on the line..
@@MotoCheez again just general to KEI/minis. some have electric fuel pumps some have mechanical. thats why all the carbs tend to have what they call a "slow down valve". the mitsu's kia's and cushmans will flash a yellow light when they are limiting. but those are all lefties not KEI specifically.

Make sure they are rechargeable replacements,that lady that was afraid to turn quicker, I see a lot of that where I live,its like they are afraid they are going to roll over or something.

I prefer "MIGHTY MINI"... sounds a lot better with that exhaust leak fixed... i love the changing of the colors on the trees back in that area too..
I buy all of my groceries at ALDI. They were the only grocery store that didn't deny me service for not wearing a mask during the stupidity pandemic.
We have an Aldi's in our area as well. Ours was remodeled and expanded slightly more about three or four years ago and given the updated "Aldi's Look" with all the nicer full glass door coolers. It's pretty much my mothers only favorite commercial store as far as getting food goes. Their fancier artisan cheeses and German chocolate bars are my favorites. They also have some really nice candles as well that are reasonably priced if you're into pretty smells and have a candle hoarding problem like me. :P

I have watching the full Mini build and finally caught up to the current video. It has really inspired me. I have been looking into getting a Hijet... but DMV says They can be titled in Oregon, but cannot get registration because they were not primarily manufactured for U.S. roads or highways. :( Will need to see how i can register it. I have found i can add it to my Hagerty existing other car policies.
I see that in 1994-1999 with that generation they have a 5 Speed. I think this should be your Mini's next upgrade. I saw on other Kei truck videos there is a place called G & R Imports, LLC 155 Bamboo Lane Jackson, MO 63755. You can get a trans from a donor truck and then be able to keep up with traffic and have a 65 top speed. Gearing is now the limiting factor.

They are considered classic import. Imported 25 years or older rule in most states. Check into that for your state. You can't register a newer minitruck because what they said.

@@MotoCheez I've had the special interest plates on other classic vw and chevy cars. I may have to just call he DMV and talk to someone about having it as a special interest which is for parades, shows and club events which would be fine and i can just drive it.
If you're highway 5 speed good. Hijet only has high low w 4wd. Or 5 speed w 4x4 and no low range.
You can register in WA......your neighbor state. I'm in WA and my 95 HiJet is registered
Mine is 5 speed with HI/Low and a rear locker. With factory tires, the 5 speed does help on the freeway and 60-65 is attainable. With oversize tires affecting the gearing, and their extra weight....5th is all but useless now. It just doesnt have the power. I just use 4th and go 55 max.
me and my mechanic friends were talking you're only going to get a little more power and that's about it because the way the engine built from Factory ....my friend said you're going to blow a head gasket blowing too much air in the combustion chamber you're at risk of blowing a head gasket on blowing up the engine popping sound backfiring A backfire is caused by a combustion or explosion that occurs when unburnt fuel in the exhaust system is ignited, even if there is no flame in the exhaust pipe itself. Sometimes a flame can be seen when a car backfires, but mostly you will only hear a loud popping noise,
Well, I got a lot more power, typically these engines are over built from Japan, they do put superchargers on them factory. Since I changed muffler it's only backfired once.
Head gasket... Possibly.
@@MotoCheez When I do Scrummy I'm going with a "Turbo" head gasket...Diahatsu had some turbo models, might want to look into that if Minis lets go.
I've heard they have a copper gasket, so yeah I probably should order one... If I have one, it won't blow! Hahha timing belt etc too of course

You seem to have it right!!! You have a couple of things you want to button down, but that’s almost personal (to a point). I love seeing this done in a practical way and is a much more practical use vs just for looks (like my 49) and extreme HP gains. You have made that truck very drivable now!

The trucks not too loud at all, sounds like a much larger engine under the box actually,,,,. The hydraulic lift on the box has turned out to be very functional for you to work on the engine and the rest is just,,,, just,,,,, Mini awesomeness!!!

Be careful boosting at low rpms. Your probably fine with only 9psi but I know on bigger blower cars it can do some damage. Usually a bov/diverter valve will help lower rpm boost but I don't think you should add one because you have a draw through and it would mess with your air fuel mixture and when it opened it would spray fuel mist out and that might cause a fire lol

do an EFI swap and you'll gain more power and better fuel mileage. It'll also make supercharging much easier.

It looked like it was tested and had a little oil when I first got it, I'll probably change to be safe though, good idea

Okay i have a good question what size pulley you have on the Supercharger and on the crankshaft? cuz i want to put a amr300 on my Matiz 0.8l 3 cylinder, with max 7 psi, my crankshaft is 11cm btw
