Hijet Climber Mini-truck, this one is a 1992, 7th Gen, S83P, 660cc Minitruck. The “climber” means it has rear axle lock.

You sure d have a few toys!!! I’m getting jealous,,,,,. I sold a few more, but it’s not any fun!! My nephew bought the 2019 Raptor. I gave him a load of paraphernalia as well fir a start on his man cave!! Sold the 2012 Raptor to my neighbour. He got a great deal!! Sold the 454 SS for a decent gain, the 240Z and 260 Z were sold prior to selling the mountain place and WOW!! I did great on them!! My rougher projects that are ready for the body shop may be harder wells. They are brand new or better as far as frame/running gear/powertrain go, but people buy what they can “see”,,,, too many tire kickers. I may drop both projects at the local shop I us3 and let him do a simple factory colours paint job on both, maybe add some painted SS stripes on the GMC Sprint (aka El Camino in a Chevy). It will take him a few months as he is always backed up. No problem, I bet I get an extra $5K profit, each, after painting them. People are funny,,,,,,,,.

The problem with a turbo and a small displacement motor is they just don't pull down low like a supercharger does. They can't and will never do it. You'll be chaising your tail trying to accomplish this. Can you make the vans motor run better? Absolutely! But it will always be a different type, and higher strung power that mini.
If you want to see how it could run... First get the exhaust sorted. Second, install an air/fuel gauge. Third, run it nearly empty then put 2-4 race gas in it. Fourth, unplug/disconnect the waste gate valve at the waste gate which will allow full boost. Do this on a cool day and see how she feels for a couple of seconds. If the boost is ridiculously high put and homemade inline boost controller on that same waste gate line you took off.
That's what I want! Info to experiment with!
Also, get into the forums on that vehicle where people are and have been doing mods. You should be able to find a lot of good info and some that could save you from some heartache too. If you raise boost any on that motor I would only run 91-93 octane. I'd rather be safe than sorry and never have to deal with a head gasket or worse, leaning out the motor. Like I mentioned, get into the forums and you should be able to find out some pretty cool shit and how toos on your van. Good luck buddy 👍

ok ill change ur mind, more modern turbos spool up quicker and a more efficent than ever. take the gr yaris for example from motive garage. only superchargers have only gotten more compact over time. also being able to tune when boost kicks in and how much with a turn of a dial much eaiser with a turbo.
there, ive said my 2 cents, so lets agree to twin charge it 🤣

Superchargers take hp to spin while turbos don't. The van is also heavier than mini! Like I said before until you open up the exhaust on a turbo engine it's highly restricted from the factory and never will run to it's potential. Go to some drag races and see how many people are running turbos vs superchargers, turbos dominate these days.
Turbos take power too in the form of back pressure. Turbos do dominate mostly on the smaller CC engines because they're much less expensive. But if you look at the rail drag cars I believe they're still supercharged.
This is just my opinion until I can get a little more out of this turbo maybe
@@MotoCheez Top fuel cars still use superchargers for one reason, they are not allowed by the rules of the sanctioning body. Pro Stock only adopted fuel injection 7 years ago! Back pressure is there no matter what unless you're running with no manifolds at all.
It's impossible to make power without using power, turbos use back pressure to create power that is just a fact. Many cars like the Corvette and hellcat challengers still come stock with a supercharger
@@MotoCheez I had a 03 Cobra, took the Eaton off and put on a turbo kit from Hellion and made 103 hp more at the wheels with only 2 psi more boost and the egt temps were lower. You should watch Sloppy Mechanics or Richard Holdener to educate yourself better because it sounds like you are using old magazine articles from 30 years ago as a guide. A supercharger and a turbo with the same cfm rating the turbo is always going to make more power! If you ran a hi helix roots vs a T3 turbo the blower is going to win because it flows 500 times the amount of air but takes 150 hp just to spin the rotors! The oem's choose superchargers for packaging concerns and durability issues, Mopar back in the 80's had issues with blown head gaskets, blown turbos and some times turbos falling off the manifolds. The last thing oem's want is warranty claims because someone put a grainger valve on their turbo engine and blew it up or worse yet a recall because people are using garbage oil in their turbo engine and they start blowing up.
I'm comparing apples and apples because they're the same exact engine everything is identical except the van is about 300 pounds heavier. I'm not going to be putting up variable pitch vein turbo on this anytime soon but like I said change my mind, after I do some mods my mind may be changed drastically

H i have bought a DB52T 2000 Suzuki Pickup 4X4 5 speed, common rail fuel injected and aircon its ok, up to now i have fitted a 2" lift 13"wheels 750x13 tyres. had the seats recovered and started to build a front bumper, Have you seen the way they are shipped to the Philippines they cut the cab in half then its welded back together, just so they can get more in the container. Twin charged is best, Turbo and Supercharger setup 🙂 Electronic clutch on the supercharger to disable it when the Turbo is doing it's part.

Your getting the snow we got Friday night,odd,It was in the mid 60s Friday and I moved grass then the night came along with wind and 3 inches of snow came down in middle Tennessee, go figure,intermittent global warming and cooling.

My last results were the same 18 miles per gallon, it's going to be hard to do a real good test unless I do kind of a long drive

inverse apply super charger is better and instant at low rpm while turbo lag behind

for your kind of driving supercharger is the way to go. but hands down no argument possible turbos are in fact better than superchargers for a myriad of reasons. you are also comparing a truck that came with a turbo bs a boosted NA engine which is going to have higher compression and more aggressive timing all which make it produce far more than a stock wore out turbo vehicle.
Boost is boost, if I can get the similar boost out of the turbo say 9 lb then we can do a better comparison, supercharger pulls hard throughout the entire RPM range all the way up to the top, I've been told turbo don't and this doesn't.
@@MotoCheez boost is actually completely irrelevant. psi means jack shit. the only thing that matters is CFM {airflow}. Boost is a side effect of your engines reluctance to that high flow inductance, if you will. This is why 2 turbos of different "trim" {size} can and do yield radically different power levels at comparable boost levels. i.e. a T3 turbo at 9psi can produce about 180hp. a T88 at 9psi can produce about 1000hp. Same pressure level, radically different volume of air. Which affects air temp, which affects air density. Which really is the name of the game. Stuffing as many oxygen molecules as you can into the cylinder before the intake valve closes. In short, the supercharger is bigger than the turbo. Its on a higher compression engine in a vehicle that weighs less. the van has a turbo, because it NEEDS it just to be EQUAL to a NA truck.
@@MotoCheez do some exhaust and intake work on the van. get that turbo breathing. then id look for a bigger bolt on turbo or a billet wheel for what ya got. theres no doubt turbos have WAY more potential than superchargers. abadiatic pressure curve is the reason why if you wanna get all sciencey about it.
Way more potential, I agree. For daily driveability and constant power through rpm, I still say supercharger. Many cars like Vette and hellcat come with stock superchargers
Comparing 2 identical engines, boost is boost. We all know volume is key.
Not all kei vans are turbo, pretty rare in fact, and more rare to have intercooler. They also have supercharger option on trucks and vans
