Yes. John McArthur at least in his younger days was brain-proud and strident: but I’ve always appreciated RC Sproul far more. I do appreciate MacArthur opening his church during the COVID lockdown tyranny, however, when others cowered.
This may be the only video I've found that presents opposing viewpoints without ridiculing them. I can't stand the way some people look down their nose at people who disagree with them. Thank you!
If you have Amazon prime, the rest of the series is on there. It was very beneficial for me. I'm no longer a pre-millennialist, but I'm now a somewhat questioning post-millennialist.
The Bible has only One Truth and Truth doesn't oppose itself. For instance, you can't teach Evolution and Creation and say both are Truth, only One is the Truth and so you have to expose the other as False. What this Guy is saying is very confusing and himself didn't take a stand on any of them and everything he said non of them is True.
As the wise Brother Paul Washer once said, we will know everything about the second coming of Christ.... At the second coming of Christ. I have thoroughly enjoyed this 12 video series but I see arguments and great points from every POV. Either way, whichever is true, Christ is King. May He bless you all, my brothers and sisters!
It’s true we are bin lied about time we live now (meaning years controllers added 1000 years, they simply changed letter I ( in the year of our Lord to one thousand and added one thousands years) so really we lost counting of our time (Satan)!?
LJ PikeAEP God bless you bro! Yes we will see, and what ever it is it will be the most glorious time, we will see Him face to face! Our Lord and King! Come Lord Jesus come!
What blows my heart and mind is that the doctrine from this video, called dispensationalism, has only been around since 1830. What did the church teach the first 1830 years? It has always baffled me as to how one can honestly teach Revelation as 2020 plus years in the future after reading the first 3 Verses of Revelation. Here are those Verses below: The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place; and He sent and [a]communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John, 2 who testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and [b]heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near. (Revelation 1:1-3) I recently learned that most Bible colleges in the United States won't let you teach at their college if you don't adhere to this new view called dispensationalism. This explains why soooooooooooo many people have fallen for this view.
People used to realize that the Church Age aka Gospel Era aka 1,000 Year Reign aka Millennial Reign of Christ are all the same. The Bible says God owns the cattle on a thousand hills, who owns the rest of the cattle, thousand just means a lot, I have done that a thousand times..... satan is locked up right now and before we heard the Gospel Message we were locked up with him in the chains of sin and death, the Gospel makes us free!!! John 8
We won't know the hour or day, only the Father in heaven, He will come suddenly , when you least expect ... stars fall to earth, sun and moon go dark, the man of sin revealed. Study to show yourself approved
@@gregobern6084 The millennial position has nothing to do with the ''hour or day' because it could occur at any time, i.e. it's about a theological position with regards to the millennial reign of Christ, i.e. not day or hour of His second coming, so how about you study to show _yourself_ approved?
@@gregobern6084 The different positions on the millennial reign of Christ are: Amillenialism, Postmillennialism and Premillennialism, NONE of which have ANYTHING to do with the day or the hour of Christ's return or the revealing of the man of sin.

Listened through this entire series as an partial-preterist Amillenial and still land there. What a helpful series! I love how generous & kind RC is in his presentation and how he doesn’t belittle other views. He was also like this in his baptism debate with MacArthur. I can learn a lot from him. ❤️
Respectfully Sarah, neither Amil or Postmil line up with scripture and reality. How you could believe the world/church is getting better in today’s world is beyond me. We are at the lowest church numbers per capita that this world has seen in 1000 years or more… And if you read any of the descriptions of the millennium in scripture, you’d see that it is impossible for it to have already occurred. I say all of this with love. Listen to expository preachers preach on the millennium and then look at the world today. We’re going downhill FAST. Nothing is getting better. We are moments away from Christ’s return.
@@billhesford6098 the problem with that is that the majority of scholars/teachers/believers since the beginning have been premil. How many people do you think that is that studied scripture as much or more than you and saw premil? Neither amil or postmil line up with Jesus’ description of the time right before his return. It is a contradiction. However, premil beliefs align perfectly not just with Jesus’ words but also with reality. Look at our world compared to 50 years ago.
Amen Sproul. One thing is for sure, Christ is reigning and will reign forevermore. May we praise and glorify His great name forevermore. God bless you all.
Amazing exposition as always by RC Sproul and yes Amillennialism is the most straightforward and logical explanation of eschatology. Dispensational Pre-mil rapture escapism never made sense and needs to be "left behind" before it gives too many people false hope of escaping trials and tribulations. Don't forget we are not of this world and if you truly are Christs, this world will hate you and persecute you. God bless all faithful followers of Jesus Christ and do not fear the tribulation you shall face.
A great lesson by Dr. Sproul. It’s doubtful that we will ever all agree on the Millennium but teaching like this does help us to arrive, more or less, at what seems to us to be closer to the truth.
Love R.C. Sproul. He helped me so much in my Christian formation and learning theology. I'm full Preterist and appreciate parts of the Amill/PostMill positions-- Still working through these things. Nice to hear this again and remember how generous R.C. was and happy he did not here label us preterist heretics, which some do. So, I guess we continue on and live to glorify our risen Saviour and tell of His marvelous grace to all who call upon Him for His righteousness, forgiving us all our sins as we confess and continue to have Him wash our feet and also we look forward to eternal life with Him and the Father and the Spirit and our brothers and sisters - Amen.. Love br. David - Canada.
RC Sproul shaped my faith more than anyone. As a young adult, I listened to cassettes of his messages over many long nights in the mission field with a small library of cassettes the only English word to keep me company. He loved the scriptures so much, it was contagious. He was so confident in God’s good will, it made predestination welcome and of comfort rather than something scary.
I also love listening to RC Sproul teach. I am dispensational and have heard much insulting and false references from all the other positions but not from RC. I am obviously not convinced by the other doctrinal positions but Dr. Sproul was a wonderful and humble teacher. Oh that we all could operate that way.
I have come to the conclusion that I believe all and will prepare for all of these theories.. and Love the fact that so many minds I respect can not figure God out , I would not want it any other way
Thank you for explaining these varied doctrinal systems......they are something to contemplate.....and of course ....still once saved always saved.......R.C. is so clear and so very helpful in all that he spoke about.......I look forward to seeing him.
Thank You for sharing the word of God and teaching me the vital importance and blessing given in doing so; not only for myself, my family striving to protect our precious Salvation, but for all of His children, His flock.

Thank you for this enlightening presentation on the millennial reign of Jesus Christ. I'm a Postmillennialist. Was converted over 10 years ago thru the publications of David Chilton, Gary Demar, Jay E. Adams and Kenneth Gentry
The part I can't seem to grasp is the pre-trib rapture where the restrainer 2Thess 2: 6-8 ( assumably the Holy Spirit) is removed along with the church 1Thess 4: 16, 17. Since the Holy Spirit is responsible for changing hearts to be born again (John 3), in Rev 7: 14 and again in Rev 15: 2 it mentions multitudes ( believers/faithful) coming out of the tribulation victorious over the beast, his number etc..
@@kennnuthatch5724 The verse describes the Restrainer as being "taken out of the way", not removed. The Restrainer will no longer strive with mankind. At this time they will pursue all unrighteousness and ungodliness with no second thought.
RC Sproul is currently reigning with Jesus Christ just as we are spiritually who believes in Jesus Christ as king. For he has made us kings and priest.
I am Amillenial because to me it seems like the best teachings from each. I agree with the Premils that there will be widespread apostasy at the end of the age (pretty obvious these days), but I agree with the Postmils that the Church will positively influence society as it already has in so many ways throughout history.

Take your positions if you will but it’s faith God looks for. Love God and trust in Him though and in Jesus, increasingly empowered by the Holy Spirit.(Sanctification) Obeying His new commandment to “love one another (how) as I have loved you.“
If my understanding of the Millennium assists in Loving God and my neighbor, I tend to continue to meditate on it. If a view creates fear or tries to put chains on me, I tend to not meditate on that.
I'm confident that for 2 decades now, when I discovered years ago, and concur, with the amill conclusion. I don't pretend to have discovered its accuracy by my own doing, but by the given indwelling Holy Spirit who "guides us into all truth," Jn.16:13. 20 years is a long time to test a conclusion from every conceivable point of view hoping to find fault with the conclusion and never finding fault, even one small one. So then, I'm satisfied to know the amill position is indeed fact while all others are false.
1000 is symbolic in my view. 10 is the number of something that’s fully complete, for example: 10 commandments 10x10 (100) sheep 10x10x10 (1000) years, meaning an absolute full, complete period
Excellent and timely explanation of these differing understandings of the complex chapter in Revelation! Well done 👍 Thank you very much! God bless you continually!
I'd be more inclined to thank him (posthumously) if he told us which of the 'differing understandings of the complex chapter in Revelation' was the correct one.
I really enjoyed listening to Mr. Sproule do his best not to offend anyone's beliefs on this subject which in itself is so open to many interpretations. That said, the comments section here is totally polluted by know it all's of every design. It is no wonder the majority of humanity views it all with a cautious eye. I mean listen to yourselves. Talk about self-righteous.
I don't know, but Christ coming to earth, raising the dead, doing miracles, redeeming all the elect. Saying it is finished, and ascending to the Throne of God to reign forever certainly sounds like the Kingdom was at hand...
This series was great, & Dr. Sproul goes out of his way not to be mean to the dispensationalists. One gets the feeling he might even load them into the the short bus for a trip to McDonalds, with a twinkle in his eye. Oh! And he forgot to mention which view is correct (partial preterist amillenialism, of course, but that goes without saying). FREE PALESTINE!
Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, *There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death,* till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. Mark 9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, *That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death,* till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. Luke 9:27 But I tell you of a truth, *there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death,* till they see the kingdom of God.
As Historic Millennialist my position is of the Ante-Nicene Fathers and of the Jewish understanding of Scripture, the millennium is rooted in two calendar systems that is God inspired in multiple levels within the Jewish language. The Sabbatical and Jubilee calendars has ingrained the millennium week throughout the Scriptures, and unless you are reading Scripture with the Jewish frame of thinking a Gentile is not likely to understand its divine forecasting of the Messiah’s millennium reign as foretold In Zachariah 14 and many other prophetic texts within the Scriptures. The mirror to Revelation 19 and 20 is found in Daniel 7 and verses 11-13 and 27 destroys the Amill argument, for the season and time is revealed in Revelation 20 as being a thousand years.
So U say 70th weeks Daniel fulfilled by Messiah first coming 6years~ 3 and 1/2 Christ ministry and 3 and 1/2 apostles that's the week fulfilled . I can't see how week 70 is future I need help on this
@ read the Ante-Nicene Fathers for they hold the original understanding of interpretation of Scripture. After sixty-two weeks, the times will be fulfilled, and for one week he will make a covenant with many. And in the midst of the week, sacrifice and oblation will be removed.” . . . For when the sixty-two weeks are fulfilled, and Christ has come, and the Gospel has been preached in every place, the times will then be accomplished. Then, there will remain only one week-the last-in which Elijah and Enoch will appear. And in the middle of it, the abomination of desolation will be manifested. This is the Antichrist, announcing desolation to the world. And when he comes, the sacrifice and oblation will be removed, which now are offered to God in every place by the nations. Hippolytus (c. 205, W), 5.182. The prophet sets forth these things concerning the Antichrist, who will be shameless, a war-monger, and a despot. Exalting himself above all kings and above every god, he will build the city of Jerusalem and restore the sanctuary. Hippolytus (c. 205, W), 5.184.
One thing is clear from these great lectures on eschatology of Dr. Sproul: Eschatology is the study of end times - theories and perspectives. WE DON'T KNOW, only God knows.
Only Lord Jesus Christ is Mesiah. Matthew 24:29-30 states that Lord Jesus Christ comes back from Heaven when sun will be darkened - literally, moon won't give it's light - literally, stars will fall down from the sky - literally.
This was great. Thank you for posting. Ligonier Ministries, I am wondering about the temple described in Ezekiel. Was it ever built? I am also wondering about the 70th week in Daniel. The first 69 weeks were fulfilled in incredible detail. Has that last 70th week of seven years been fulfilled? Does Ligonier have any videos posted that address these questions? I would like to understand this more. Thank you.
We know what's going to happen but we don't know when! The teaching in scripture is so subtle that it is very easy to miss important clues. But we do know this, the body of Christ is the elect containing both Jew and Gentile. So there is no division regarding the body. If that is true, then the resurrection must include all those elected that God has chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world who must then bear Christ likeness from the moment of transition and transformation at the last trumpet!
Are you comfortable with the paradox of faith? We are saved, yet being saved. We are justified and being justified. We are saints...and sinners. The Kingdom of God and Christ is here...and will be fully realized in the future.
Who taught you that. You’re saying this purely from what you’ve been taught. All I’ll say with a sincere heart.. is, ask God to regardless of what you think.. that you want the truth.. not that he would prove you right.. but that he would show you the truth. If you pray this with honesty. Perhaps you might see something different. But this requires sincerity of the heart..
In the NT, there are over 100 time references of immenince of "all the things written in the Law and the Prophets"... I don't know about the rest of you, but for me, when God says something over 100 times, I don't think there's any reason whatsoever to question if He really means it!😶

22:42 "Now, the reason why there are these competing positions of amill, postmill, Dispensationalism, historic premill, preterist, and all the rest, is because it is so difficult to know with precision and with certainty the exact references of future prophecies. From my experience I find that most Christians I encounter are historic pre-millennial but still believe they will be raptured before the tribulation. They cling to the thought of “in the twinkling of an eye” and say Oh we won’t be here for that when you speak of the tribulation. And most post-millennials that I have met are saying that either the millennium has past (hence the phrase Post) or that we are currently in the millennium and that the Kingdom is advancing. I’ve never heard someone suggest that the post millennium view is that the millennium is yet to occur. So from what I understand Post millennium refers to a period of time before Christ return- (Christ will return post millennium) and pre millennium refers to a period of time after Christ return- (Christ will return pre millennium). Any thoughts?
As a postmillenialist, I think I can assure you that very few other postmils hold that the millennium has passed. Many of the Puritans, however, especially Jonathan Edwards, held that the millennium was a literal 1000 years that has yet to actually come. That view is generally regarded as somewhat antiquated though, and your average modern partial-preterist postmillenialist will hold that we are presently in the millennium in which the Kingdom is advancing, and that Christ will return at the end of the millennium, however long that may be.
Great job by RC Sproul explaining the differences. My only problem with amillennialism view is "Satan bound for a 1000 years." We know he wasn't bound after Christ's resurrection based upon NT letters. The "traditional" Premillennial view I think is the most accurate, but my personal preference would be the Dispensational Premillennial view- where the believers are raptured before the Tribulation! Regardless, the LORD is sovereign and His plan is the best!
The binding of Satan, according to amillennialism, specifically says he is bound so he will "no longer deceive the nations." It does not mean all evil is gone which seems to be assumed by the idea that Satan is bound. In the Old Testament, "nations" refers to Gentile nations as compared to Israel. The nations were all deceived into paganism with only Israel worshipping the true God. This deception is "bound" and the gospel is spreading to the nations throughout the world, overcoming this deception resulting in many coming to faith in Christ and the true God. I hope this is addresses your problem you referred to.
Mike: You are over thinking it. Probably because you are basing your thinking upon things you have heard rather than what you might have gleaned from careful study under the anointing of the Holy Ghost. 1) You are correct that Satan was NOT bound after the cross. We can know this because in the book of Revelation it tells us that fallen Lucifer has been accusing the brethren before the throne day and night, which is in heaven. Rev. 12:10. In fact, he has been accusing the brethren since he fell. 2) When the rapture takes place, the Great Tribulation begins. The man of sin/Son of Perdition/antichrist is revealed to the world of all those left behind. They will not know what he is. It is the Rapture that allows the Tribulation to start. 3) ONLY the overcomers are caught up in the rapture. Not all believers are overcomers. 4) The purpose of the rapture is to bring the overcomes to the wedding supper of the lamb. Some as guests, some as friends and some as the bride. 5) The entire tribulation, start to finish is 3.5 years long. The reason we can know this is due to Daniel 9:27. That person in Daniel 9:27 is none other than Jesus The Living Christ. 6) When Jesus comes back to earth for the second coming (42 months after the rapture, with His bride) the battle of armageddon takes place. At the end of that battle Fallen Lucifer, aka devil/satan/serpent/dragon gets put in the pit for the 1,000 year reign of Jesus over the New Earth while Jesus trains His replacement. Have a nice day.
Ted Price why does anyone listen to Christ in the first place ? It’s the Spirit that gives the grace of regeneration and new life to accept the message of Christ.
Jacob Podolsky But the bible says that belief precedes regeneration.... John 20: 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
Evan U “And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.” 2 Timothy 2:24-26 ESV True belief always produces true repentance. God gives those gifts not man.
Jacob Podolsky I’ll address your passage and in return I hope you address the one I cited. Paul is speaking of people who have cast off their faith in 2Tim 2...... 2Tim 2: 11 ¶ It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us 16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. 25 In meekness instructing👉🏻 those that oppose themselves; 👈🏻if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may 👉🏻👉🏻recover themselves👈🏻👈🏻 out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. These fell into the trap of the devil. They opposed themselves. Here’s another passage that I see as a parallel..... Heb 6: 1 ¶ Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And 👉🏻this will we do, if God permit👈🏻. 4 ¶ For👉🏻 it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; 👈🏻seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. So God must grant repentance to those who fall away. Also, “grant” means “allow”, which is not the same as “cause”. God bless.
I think I might be an a-mill. Why would anyone go with Satan after living for 1000 years with Christ as King Of the world? Plus the Bible says that to God a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day - because He exists outside of Time. He is eternal. God created the timeline for angels and humanity. He stepped into the timeline briefly asJesus but He has never been bound by it. Jesus does not reign for only 1000 years. He has reigned from the beginning and there is no end. So the 1000 years seems symbolic language to me. That Satan is bound in chains for ‘a thousand years’ - but then is released for a short time to unleash hell. Does that mean Satan is not in this world at all for a time? That only human evil remains for a time? Or does it mean he is still in the world but chained - so limited in his powers? It all makes my head hurt.
The Otherme -Just to answer your first question. Men choose Satan due to their sin nature. Have you never known a person who due to some desire clearly did something completely irrational and self-destructive? As a psychologist have have treated many such people. Al Kirkendall
There is so much scripture, from the Gospels to Revelation, and references back into Old Treatment prophecy - that we would be all night answering your question. Without actual book, chapter, and verse; I'll try to give you an overview. Jesus taught of a resurrection and gathering of the believers over and over, staying He would come as a their in the night, in the twinkling of an eye, etc. As mention here, Paul wrote of this in Thessalonians. What wasn't covered here for pre-trib dispensationalism is what he wrote in the next book. Only he who now let's, will, until he is taken away, then shall the wicked one be revealed. The he is the Holy Spirit that convicts hearts to believe in Jesus. At the rapture, when salvation through grace is ended, the anti-Christ and the beast, and the false prophet will rule and deceive and set themselves up to be God in the temple. And when those pretending to be God move to destroy the Jewish people one and for all, Christ will return as the Messiah they have always been looking for. One to battle their enemy as a warrior King. And He will return with ten thousand thousands of His saints. If He had not returned really to resurrect and gather those that were alive and remained, how could we come back with Him? And where did He take use? To heaven for the judgement seat of Christ. Where our deeds will be judged, 1 Corinthians 3 near the end of the chapter. For the marriage super, as the church is the bride of Christ. And to keep the church from going through the great tribulation, as we are not appointed unto wrath. This starts the rule of Christ in Earth for the thousand years, and the period that satan is bound that he should deceive no more until that time is finished. But during the thousand years, people will have to follow Christ rule whether they want to or not. Sin is not wiped out, and as before the flood, men's hearts are continually evil. So, when the thousand year reign is through, and satan is released, he will tempt me just as he did Jesus in Matthew 4. And after years of towing the line so to speak, many will be tied of Jesus and His rules, and will flock to the alternative in rebellion. Think of how people hate Trump. It doesn't matter that the stock market is at a all time high, or that he is forcing other countries to the negotiating table in benefit of the U.S., or unemployment is at the lowest numbers it has been in decades. People cannot wait until 2020 to go with anyone that is not Trump. It won't matter that Jesus will enforce peace, or that He will take care of everyone. But because He will rule with a rod of iron, people will be looking for anything to get out from under His dominion. As I stated at the beginning, you quite literally have to take so much scripture and piece it all together, that it is nigh impossible to type out a summary without being confusing or leaving too much out. Yet, I hope this helps, and prompts you to read for yourself. Don't take RC Scroll's word, or mine, or any other reply... Go get God's Word on it after paying that He will guide and expound to you what you're seeking, wisdom. And in James, if any lack wisdom, let them ask of God.
If you are amil based on the definition given in this video, you may very well be postmil. As much as I love the late great RC Sproul and much appreciate the work put into this series and book, he got the postmil position wrong in this presentation. Historic Premil The return of Christ is just before the millennium and just after a time of great apostasy and tribulation. After the millennium, Satan will be loosed and Gog and Magog will rise against the kingdom of God; this will be immediately followed by the final judgment. Amil The Kingdom of God was inaugurated at Christ's resurrection at which point he gained victory over both Satan and the Curse. Christ is now reigning at the right hand of the Father over His church. After this present age has ended, Christ will return and immediately usher the church into their eternal state after judging the wicked. Postmil Christ brought the Kingdom. The millennium is the era during which Christ is now reigning over the earth, not from an literal and earthly throne, but through the gradual increase of the Gospel and its power to change lives. After this gradual Christianization of the world, Christ will return and immediately usher the church into their eternal state after judging the wicked. Now obviously these can alter slightly depending on whether you are a preterist, historicist, idealist or futurist. But you'd be hard pressed to find a postmil who would describe his position in the fashion that it's articulated in this video presentation.
2 Thessalonians 2; Man of Lawlessness 2 Now in regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our [a]gathering together to meet Him, we ask you, [b]brothers and sisters, 2 not to be quickly unsettled or alarmed either by a [so-called prophetic revelation of a] spirit or a message or a letter [alleged to be] from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has [already] come. 3 Let no one in any way deceive or entrap you, for that day will not come unless the [c]apostasy comes first [that is, the great rebellion, the abandonment of the faith by professed Christians], and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction [the Antichrist, the one who is destined to be destroyed],4 who opposes and exalts himself [so proudly and so insolently] above [d]every so-called god or object of worship, so that he [actually enters and] takes his seat in the temple of God, publicly proclaiming that he himself is God. 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I was telling you these things? 6 And you know what restrains him now [from being revealed]; it is so that he will be revealed at his own [appointed] time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness [rebellion against divine authority and the coming reign of lawlessness] is already at work; [but it is restrained] only until he who now restrains it is taken out of the way. 8 Then the lawless one [the Antichrist] will be revealed and the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of His mouth and bring him to an end by the appearance of His coming. 9 The coming of the [Antichrist, the lawless] one is through the activity of Satan, [attended] with great power [all kinds of counterfeit miracles] and [deceptive] signs and false wonders [all of them lies], 10 and by unlimited seduction to evil and with all the deception of wickedness for those who are perishing, because they did not welcome the love of the truth [of the gospel] so as to be saved [they were spiritually blind, and rejected the truth that would have saved them]. 11 Because of this God will send upon them a misleading influence, [an activity of error and deception] so they will believe the lie, 12 in order that all may be judged and condemned who did not believe the truth [about their sin, and the need for salvation through Christ], but instead took pleasure in unrighteousness. 13 But we should and are [morally] obligated [as debtors] always to give thanks to God for you, believers beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through the [e]sanctifying work of the Spirit [that sets you apart for God’s purpose] and by your faith in the truth [of God’s word that leads you to spiritual maturity]. 14 It was to this end that He called you through our gospel [the good news of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection], so that you may obtain and share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, [f]brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold [tightly] to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouthor by letter from us. 16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting comfort and encouragement and the good [well-founded] hope [of salvation] by His grace, 17 comfort and encourage and strengthen your hearts [keeping them steadfast and on course] in every good work and word
I see all the Mega churches that bring in thousands upon thousands of people for an emotional pep rally and then take as much money from those people as possible for themselves. Also the different denominations who preach a different Jesus ( ie. Jesus and Satan are brothers, Jesus is not God, there is no trinity of God Jesus and the Holy Ghost, that we can become a god just like our Father God . . . ) I hope all of these are clear. If not check out Cultish, which is a ministry of Apologia Studios and Apologia Church. Christians around the world are being persecuted. Our own US government is so evil and Godless. We Christians better get going with sharing the Gospel. The world is literally dying for it. Thank you for reading this.
Good overview. Going into all the related scriptures used to support each view takes many, many, hours. It's when you get into the specifics that it becomes harder to be so mild toward some of the positions. Scripture just doesn't support some of them at all and it's hard to be kind when you see ridiculous interpretations of passages that obviously do not say what some people claim they say.
If there is one God and one Holy Spirit where does all the confusion come from? Satan is the author of confusion. These different views serve no purpose other than to show the world that believing in Jesus is just that a belief. They don't see a difference between the two because we cannot agree amongst ourselves. What I see is that the Holy Spirit reveals the truth. Not all believers are actually listening to the Spirit in prayer rather leaning on their own understandings. These Doctrinal degreed men and women of God have educated themselves to where they are not listening. Jesus said He spoke in parables to the people because they didn't have ears to hear and eyes to see. He then told the disciples that they do and that is why they understand when Jesus speaks. What is this ears and eyes? It's God in them through the Holy Spirit. It's not just a decision to have left everything behind and follow Jesus. There is one truth and if you read the scriptures for yourself through the Spirit of the living God you will understand because you too will have ears to hear and eyes to see. You don't have to have a college degree of any kind.
All man-made systems of Bible interpretation are revealed not by the scripture quoted by its proponents, but rather by the scripture they must ignore to make it work. Because the time of the judgment of the dead, with reward for some and destruction for others is found in Revelation 11:15-18, we know the Book of Revelation cannot be in chronological order. In 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10 Paul said Christ returns "in flaming fire" taking vengeance on those who do not know God. The fire comes at the end of Revelation 20. In 2 Timothy 4:1 Paul said both the living and the dead are judged at Christ's appearing. The judgment is at the end of Revelation 20. Why does an angel come down from heaven with a key to unlock the pit in Revelation 9:1-2, if the pit was not locked before that time? Why does the beast ascend out of the pit in Revelation 11:7? Why are there no mortals left alive on the planet at the end of Matthew 25:31-46?
Bill Thompson, what you said in a nutshell... John 6:45 It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me. ...but (there's always a but, lol), all the different people with their different interpretations believe that they are taught by God so we're back to square one.... groan. I mean, we have this... John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into *_ALL_* the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and *_HE WILL TELL YOU WHAT IS YET TO COME._* Why doesn't that seem to work out in practice? Why isn't He telling us which millennial to come is correct position, because what we have is a patchwork quilt, a plethora or smorgasbord of options when there can be only ONE true position on the millennium? It's so frustrating, but we still persevere.
Here is something to think about. After Jesus Christ was resurrected, He ascended to heaven to take His place at the right hand side of God. He was glorified at this point, meaning that He received back all His powers that was removed from Him when He came to this earth. Remember, God is a Holy Spirit and when He created Jesus and called Him His Son when He was baptized on this earth. Jesus was also a Holy Spirit, also a co-God, who created everything. Jesus received back His Omnipotence which means that whilst He is in heaven, He is also on this earth as the Spirit of Truth, being the Comforter and also be those who gather in His Name. Jesus also said to His disciples that they knew the Holy Spirit. He was the only One that they knew collectively at that time. Paul also said that Jesus will be with us until the end of the world, obviously in Spirit form. The Holy Spirit on this earth did not exist until Jesus was glorified. This all boils down to one thing namely, Jesus is the Holy Spirit on this earth as He gets everything from His Father, also a Holy Spirit, which all gels with the Bible. There is also two thrones in heaven, one for Jesus and one for God the Father. They are two separate entities. They are also the counsel between them both. All the facts above are from the Bible. I personally do not agree with the Trinity teaching as that makes no sense at all. The Bible, or Word of God has been given to man to learn from it and not to speculate. Comments will be appreciated.
It appears, if the comment section is anything to go by; either our dear brother is a poor teacher, or many weren’t paying attention to the rest of the series. Oh!!! And if you came to this with an already made up mind, why are you here.
Here in Feb. 2024, we are still living in the previously hidden (mystery) dispensation of grace aka the Church Age! (See Ephesians 3:1 - 9) Members of the Body of Christ have ALWAYS been persecuted by unbelievers since its inception on the Feast Day of Pentecost! Many who now are calling themselves saints are false, and THEY will fall away!
As I listen to many well educated Christians as R.C Sproul and many others an their different views youtube is full of them and books to back up their theories and interpretations of scripture, It can be complicated with all these views and they all could be wrong with the final outcome. I have God's word and with my continuing to read the Bible and have the Holy Spirit comfort me even when I don't fully understand, but I'm always reminded of scripture of when Jesus said you need to be like a child to enter the kingdom of God and the thief on the cross....you will be with me in paradise, both very simple in their message of salvation off faith of a child and trust as a forgiven sinner in Jesus, God has it all under control not us and it will be revealed when it happens is that too simple...maybe.
Ted Price A king has a kingdom in which He rules over. Christ is the king seated on the throne of David and rules His kingdom. The kingdom is the Church which belongs to Jesus.
Ted, that's right. The Church has been given up to satan. They are in fact the desolation of abomination. There are many verses in scripture that show this. The church age is now over. He does His harvesting of souls now on a one on one basis. This generation is the remnant. The churches are teaching a false gospel. An all-inclusive message to attract the lukewarm. And it's gonna lead them straight to hell. Jesus Christ is the New Covenant.
@David Moshe regarding your previous comment, what Kingdom? Are you talking about the Millennial Reign? Or the Kingdom on Heaven? Just genuinely curious about your views. Thanks David. God bless you and yours. And right on, the Church Age is over. I believe it ended around 2011. I have this on the timeline laid out in the Bible. The pre-flood genealogy is an important calendar. Regardless of when it ended, which doesn't matter, it most certainly has ended. I'm amazed and astounded our Father allowed such evil for so long. The churches are completely corrupt and spew a false gospel of works and prosperity. Jesus Christ is not a religion. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life! And He alone is the only Path.
Why can’t anyone get their Postmil definition right? Even the great RC. From my research online what I’ve learned is that a lot of Amils are Postmils and don’t know it.
@Matt Manucci In the crapshow that has been the 21st century, I don't see how the church is making things better anymore or gaining in influence, which postmillennial adherents believe (is that not so?). Postmillennial belief seems to contradicts Paul's warning about the last days in 2 Timothy chapter 2, which we clearly seem to be in. But I also have issues with the apparent multiple returns of Christ in the premillennial theories. And I don't see the point of Christ literally reigning for a thousand years, just to let Satan out again, mess everything up, and then have a final destruction. IDK, there are strengths to both sides as well.
Answer this... if Satan’s little season occurs immediately after the thousand years reign where the saints are in their glorified bodies, how is it that the armies of Satan are as the sands in number?
When Christ ascended He is seated on the Throne in Heaven reigning now. Those Christ saves are reigning now. Those saved are given The Holy Spirit to bear witness to the truth who is Christ Jesus. We are waiting the second coming. Jesus tells us that many will come in His name that are false a counterfeit Christ. The mercy seat is open and Christ is saving all those The Father has given Him and none will be lost. The Catholic Church is the false Church out of Rome. There is no rapture and no restoration of the Jewish Temple. Israel is symbolic. Jesus said it is finished. Jesus is saving His sheep and none will be lost.
Some great POVs from many great biblical teachers. Im not that keen on N T Wright who doesn’t always have a convincing arguement just a lot mockery of other bible teachers views that oppose his views.
If the text of the bible is easy and clear to understand I dont believe we have license to distort it by saying it's a type or analogy. I understand horses colors and interpretation because it cant be literal horses. 1000 years with christ ruling as priests and kings is complete and no need to convert or interpret.
@@abraao2213 The bible isnt a book just metaphors. The bible has literal and metaphorical writing and the millennium is clearly literal so no need for special interpretation just read the bible as is
@@christiansoldier77 the millennium is not even written like that in the Bible, but is just an inference from the expression of thousand of years, it demands interpretation from a highly symbolic book that is revelation. But the case for the thousands years be just a symbol of a great amount of time of the Church reigning together with Christ on Earth is not only derived from this expression in revelation but it is clearly seem throughout the new testament and the old testament that forms a clear and straightforward message, the postmillennial view is the most coherent with the message of the gospel. The church will not fail in its mission we will and we are conquering the world for Christ, the King of the world.
@@christiansoldier77 yes the Bible has many types of writing styles, I never said something different from that. If you are looking for something most literal than dispensationalism then you should have a look on postmilenialism. Dispensationalism is the new kids in the block, is very incoherent, goes against the central message of the gospel, and it is clearly wrong.
@@christiansoldier77 even the assumption that one thousands of years is literall demands interpretation. It is a inference based on previous presupositional commitments.
Matt 16:28 And I tell you the truth, some standing here right now will not die before they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom. What do you make of that?..
Just a quick comment on the amillennial position. Let us grant for the moment that the millennium equals the age of the church and that we need not be picky about the math. Fine. One problem that I see though is this: If the amillennial position gives credence to a millennium by designating it the church age, it must also do something with the other part of the prophecy, namely, that Satan will be bound during that period. That means that Satan has not been, and is not now, a factor in the problems, crises, and tragedies the world and the church has experienced since the advent of the kingdom/millennium upon Jesus' advent. How you gonna square that circle? Looks like they're gonna have to do away with Satan during the church age. All the martyrdom in the Roman Colliseum will have to be attributed to ornery Ceasars having a bad day. And what to make of Paul's blaming Satan for preventing him from entering, I think it was Macedonia?
That's a good point. Also, that would mean Rev. 19:19-20 occurred *ALREADY,* as the beast and false prophet were taken and cast alive into the lake of fire *BEFORE* Satan was bound. People are being deceived. YAH help your people.
As Young Jedi states here, check out Voddie Baucham’s series on The Revelation. The last video on chapter 20 explains this point on Satan being bound for this time frame. He is basically bound from “deceiving the nations”. That doesn’t mean he still isn’t free to do his other evil works as well as his fallen angels. They are not bound at all. Also, we are still battling the world and our own flesh. He explains this much better than I have here.

Here are those Verses below:
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place; and He sent and [a]communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John, 2 who testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and [b]heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near. (Revelation 1:1-3)
I recently learned that most Bible colleges in the United States won't let you teach at their college if you don't adhere to this new view called dispensationalism.
John 8

But he didn't teach which of the various millennial positions was correct, so how is that teaching anything?

Sarah D, you changed your view from amil ot postmil? May I ask why? Was it because of this video?
Respectfully Sarah, neither Amil or Postmil line up with scripture and reality.
How you could believe the world/church is getting better in today’s world is beyond me.
We are at the lowest church numbers per capita that this world has seen in 1000 years or more…
And if you read any of the descriptions of the millennium in scripture, you’d see that it is impossible for it to have already occurred.
I say all of this with love. Listen to expository preachers preach on the millennium and then look at the world today. We’re going downhill FAST. Nothing is getting better. We are moments away from Christ’s return.

I've never known where I stood in concerns to my belief on this. I am starting to think I lean towards amil.

The Church is not the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is the reign and rule of God over all situations.
Are you comfortable with the paradox of faith? We are saved, yet being saved. We are justified and being justified. We are saints...and sinners. The Kingdom of God and Christ is here...and will be fully realized in the future.

Dispensational premillennialism is the most outrageous lie and hoax. Daniel 9 is fulfilled by Jesus Christ, not an antichrist.
I am not sure if what Dr. Sproul said is correct, "Then God will intervene in fiery judgment to rescue Christ and the saints" 20:44

True belief always produces true repentance. God gives those gifts not man.

I’ll address your passage and in return I hope you address the one I cited.
Paul is speaking of people who have cast off their faith in 2Tim 2......
2Tim 2: 11 ¶ It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us
16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
25 In meekness instructing👉🏻 those that oppose themselves; 👈🏻if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
26 And that they may 👉🏻👉🏻recover themselves👈🏻👈🏻 out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
These fell into the trap of the devil. They opposed themselves. Here’s another passage that I see as a parallel.....
Heb 6: 1 ¶ Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And 👉🏻this will we do, if God permit👈🏻.
4 ¶ For👉🏻 it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; 👈🏻seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
So God must grant repentance to those who fall away. Also, “grant” means “allow”, which is not the same as “cause”.
God bless.
Thank you 🙏💪👊
I really appreciated these explanations.
Thank you. I have watched the whore series. It is a blessing hearing all of them. May God bless your ministries
Historic Premil
The return of Christ is just before the millennium and just after a time of great apostasy and tribulation. After the millennium, Satan will be loosed and Gog and Magog will rise against the kingdom of God; this will be immediately followed by the final judgment.
Amil
The Kingdom of God was inaugurated at Christ's resurrection at which point he gained victory over both Satan and the Curse. Christ is now reigning at the right hand of the Father over His church. After this present age has ended, Christ will return and immediately usher the church into their eternal state after judging the wicked.
Postmil
Christ brought the Kingdom.

Man of Lawlessness
2 Now in regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our [a]gathering together to meet Him, we ask you, [b]brothers and sisters, 2 not to be quickly unsettled or alarmed either by a [so-called prophetic revelation of a] spirit or a message or a letter [alleged to be] from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has [already] come.

And 1 Bible and 1 baptism

Bill Thompson, what you said in a nutshell...
John 6:45 It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me.
...but (there's always a but, lol), all the different people with their different interpretations believe that they are taught by God so we're back to square one.... groan.
I mean, we have this...
John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into *_ALL_* the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and *_HE WILL TELL YOU WHAT IS YET TO COME._*
Why doesn't that seem to work out in practice? Why isn't He telling us which millennial to come is correct position, because what we have is a patchwork quilt, a plethora or smorgasbord of options when there can be only ONE true position on the millennium?
It's so frustrating, but we still persevere.
@@SpotterVideo I share your frustration brother. See my other post on this thread.
His definition of PostMill is not what we PostMill people believe. We believe we are in the "millennium" and it started with Christ's ascension.
It appears, if the comment section is anything to go by; either our dear brother is a poor teacher, or many weren’t paying attention to the rest of the series. Oh!!! And if you came to this with an already made up mind, why are you here.
The comment section on youtube IS the apocalypse! 🔥💥⚡️👹👺👿💩🔥💥⚡️
Very good
As I listen to many well educated Christians as R.C Sproul and many others an their different views youtube is full of them and books to back up their theories and interpretations of scripture, It can be complicated with all these views and they all could be wrong with the final outcome.
RC had the best hair of any theologian ever. He was off on his eschatology.
Time stamp 23:20: we don't have the benefit of hindsight, which is 20:20....(2020... WE DO. It's 2021 now...)
Except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he can not enter into the kingdom of God.
Nice but baptism doesn’t save
That was super prophetic
The church is not the Kingdom The Kingdom is the reign and rule of God
Ted Price
A king has a kingdom in which He rules over.
@David Moshe maybe so. All I know is the churches all bowed down and followed orders. It made me sick. Lukewarm chumps pretending to be Christians.
@David Moshe you're making a lot of sense.
There it is.
Why can’t anyone get their Postmil definition right? Even the great RC.
From my research online what I’ve learned is that a lot of Amils are Postmils and don’t know it.
What ??
Everthing needs to be interpreted, there is no such thing of reading a text without interpretation.
Matt 16:28
And I tell you the truth, some standing here right now will not die before they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom.
Hey, check out Voddie Bauchaum “When is the millennium” it will bless you tremendously. 🙏🏾
