That last bit gave me chills. Can you imagine hearing evidence of God removing himself from you and your people? I would fall on my face weeping. I know they were wicked and corrupt and they along with us all deserve God's wrath but I still tear up hearing about that whole thing
Amen Sproul. There are many fascinating truths to teach from the Bible. Praise The Lord for gifting us with His son, to die for our sins, may we adore Him forevermore. God bless you all.
Thank you Ligonier for sharing RCSproul with us. He presents God's Word in such an understandable way--making it accessible for any listener. It makes me wish I had known this wonderful man of God... we desperately need to make his vision of the Holiness of YHVH our own!
Most people though want it to be for our generation. Jesus said it would be their generation. The great and notable of lord happened then. Jesus died on the cross and took away our sins. Then there was a great earth quake. That was the great and notable of the lord, I believe.
I just found Sproul's eschatology videos, didn't think he taught on that subject. I hope to find all of them. He was the best Bible teacher of this generation by far.
@@MD-cd7em I must have watched ALL of the UA-cam videos featuring Sproul and the ones of the Ligoniers panel Q's & A's. I had never seen Sproul discuss End Times in any until these were recently posted. I am beyond excited and grateful about these.
And the reason we don’t have a biblical account of the destruction of Jerusalem and its temple is because the Bible was written before it’s destruction (pre 70 AD).
@lesliestroud6656 Really? We don't have record of how did Apostle Peter die in the Bible. What's the reason for that? There are many many prophecies that foretold stuff and we can only see the record of their fulfilment in the history. Not in the Bible. Your reasoning is flawed.
@@luboshcamber1992 When Peter reached old age, Jesus said, he would stretch out his hands and be led to where he did not want to go (v. 18). The phrase “stretch out your hands” was a common way of alluding to crucifixion in the ancient world, so we see here a prediction that Peter would eventually be martyred by means of crucifixion. Later tradition holds that Peter was crucified upside down during the reign of Nero sometime in the early to mid-60s AD. And though we don’t have a biblical account of Peter’s death, my point to my previous comment was the dating of the book of Revelation.
Leslie, you are right about the dating of Revelation. See Dr. Chuck Baldwin/Liberty Fellowship for good info on that. Also, you will find that Revelations is the account of Jerusalem's destruction. Scofieldism is of Satan my brother. Blessings
@angloaust1575 that's because Peter would be forceably brought to Rome to be crucified. He wasn't with the assembly of God's people in Rome, so that's why Peter would never be mentioned in the epistle to the Romans. He was never there, of course, to be Pope.
WOW! Thank you for this teaching . Josephus and Tacitus extended and testified the predictions of the Lord Jesus about Jerusalem. I am going to Israel this October and am thrilled to see the city of Jerusalem and its history. Grateful to Mr. Sproul for his ministry and teaching. Have learned so much from him. God bless for the continued ministry.
Jesus is coming. Brothers and sisters now is the time to get right with god. He can never Lie. The promise will be fulfilled. As Jesus said before dying for the sin of the world “ it is finished.” The debt has been paid , but now his plan for you must begin 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Jeremiah 31:31-34 The New Covenant [31] “Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, [32] not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the LORD. [33] For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. [34] And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

What's happening there is vengeance for 70 ad. "Certain" are settling a score, with their neighbors, who in talmudic literature are said they are not human, and bear the country's name, the Roman's gave it. Talk about obvious.
Wrong. Daniel's 70th Week is yet unfulfilled. That 7 years begins with a peace treaty allowing the Jews to rebuild the temple one last time (before the Millennial Kingdom). The events of 70 AD hardly fulfilled the prophecy of Revelation, which was written about 20 years later.
Nope. None of horrific events of Revelation or Daniel's 70th Week have been fulfilled or even close. Israel will draw the entire world to war one last time
We will all stand before the judgement seat of Christ: whether we die tonight, are taken up in the rapture, die during the great tribulation, or receive the wrath of God. Christians should never argue about these things because each of us has an appointment with death - sooner or later.
I would like to add the following from book VI and chapter 5 of the Josephus account which Sproul may have been remiss to omit: "Thus there was a star, resembling a sword, which stood over the city: and a comet, that continued a whole year. (15) Thus also before the Jews rebellion, and before those commotions which preceded the war, when the people were come in great crowds to the feast of unleavened bread, on the eighth day of the month Xanthicus, [Nisan,] (16) and at the ninth hour of the night, so great a light shone round the altar, and the holy house, that it appeared to be bright day time. Which light lasted for half an hour. This light seemed to be a good sign to the unskilful: but was so interpreted by the sacred scribes, as to portend those events that followed immediately upon it." and also this: "But what is still more terrible; there was one Jesus, the son of Ananus, a plebeian, and an husbandman, who, four years before the war began; and at a time when the city was in very great peace and prosperity; came to that feast whereon it is our custom for every one to make tabernacles to God in the temple, (17) began on a sudden to cry aloud, “A voice from the east; a voice from the west; a voice from the four winds; a voice against Jerusalem, and the holy house; a voice against the bridegrooms, and the brides; and a voice against this whole people.” This was his cry, as he went about by day and by night, in all the lanes of the city. However certain of the most eminent among the populace had great indignation at this dire cry of his; and took up the man, and gave him a great number of severe stripes. Yet did not he either say any thing for himself, or any thing peculiar to those that chastised him: but still went on with the same words which he cried before. Hereupon our rulers, supposing, as the case proved to be, that this was a sort of divine fury in the man; brought him to the Roman procurator. Where he was whipped till his bones were laid bare. Yet he did not make any supplication for himself, nor shed any tears: but turning his voice to the most lamentable tone possible, at every stroke of the whip his answer was, “Woe, woe to Jerusalem.”"

Am fascinated by this lecture and would love to have all the series. My question is, has the abomination of desolation spoken by Jesus happened in the siege of Jerusalem AD 70, it's when the anti Christ will demand to be worshiped?
Fascinating. I never knew that Josephus was actually a Jewish general who fought against Rome and later served as a liaison between the Jews and Rome as well being a "Roman historian" after being allowed to live by emperor Vespatian.
Christians shouldn't see non-Christian Jews as sort of allies of Christians. If we want to know what God thinks about non-Christian Judaism, we only have to look at what He did through the Romans in 70 AD. Rejecting Jesus as Messiah is one of the worst sins that a person can commit. We should love all Jews, but we need to understand clearly that non-believing Jews are against Jesus. In Luke 11:23 the Lord says: “Anyone who is not with me is against me, and anyone who does not gather with me scatters.” This includes non-Christian Jews.
One should take care not to take the attitude that today's Jews are due "retribution" for the first century Jews rejection of Christ. Those Jews were dealt with by God Himself. Just a note of caution against unwarranted antisemitism.
@@Toneytc I agree with you that we shouldn't think that Jews today are due punishment for what their ancestors did 2000 years ago. However, we need to understand clearly that according to the Bible one of the worst sins that a person can commit is to reject Jesus. And given that Jesus is first of all the Jewish Messiah and Saviour, and given that a large majority of Jews today reject him, non-Christian Jews today are in grave sin and are enemies of God. We also need to be careful not to confuse criticising Jews for their sins with antisemitism. Antisemitism is an attitude of hatred or condescension towards Jews, which Christians should wholeheartedly reject. But criticising someone with a view to their repentance is an attitude of love.

there IS a biblical account of A.D. 70. Jesus prophesied of it repeatedly, and specifically in parables, and more directly at times. the prophets did also. "these are the days of vengeance that all things that were written may be fulfilled." certainly all the epistles and the book of revelation were written before A.D. 70. "...things which much shortly take place."
So what I am getting for studying the book of revelation is that from a historical standpoint there are many things described in this book, which was not in the Bible at first, had already happened throughout the first century. The events line up with the prophets in the OT. What I also come to understand is the “thousand year reign” is the word thousand can mean an infinite amount of time or a long time. I do not think thousand was literal here I think it might have been mistranslated into a specific measurement of time. Which could be wrong. In my mind I am going to assume the prophesy of revelation is mostly complete and we exist in the “church age” or the “thousand year reign” for long period or era of time. So our prophesy may be revelation 20+.
The Romans not only cut down the forests of olive trees to use for fuel but cut down all the surrounding woods to use for their various siege engines, and for barricades to fence Jerusalem in, and also for the HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of crosses which they nailed the escaping Jews onto until the Romans ran out of trees.

Dr. Chuck Baldwin has a teaching on The Destruction of Jerusalem. I highly recommend you find it here on YT. Yes, he reads the account of Josephus in his teaching. Most excellent.
And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
Josephus Book V, Chapter 6 Those that threw darts, and those that threw stones were more forcible, and larger than the rest; by which they not only repelled the excursions of the Jews, but drove those away that were upon the walls also. *Now the stones (15) that were cast were of the weight of a talent;* and were carried two furlongs, and farther. The blow they gave was no way to be sustained; not only by those that stood first in the way, but by those that were beyond them, for a great space. As for the Jews, they at first watched the coming of the stone: for it was of a white colour; and could therefore not only be perceived by the great noise it made, but could be seen also before it came by its brightness. Accordingly the watchmen that sat upon the towers gave them notice when the engine was let go, and the stone came from it; and cried out aloud, in their own country language, the stone cometh. (16) So those that were in its way stood off, and threw themselves down upon the ground. By which means, and by their thus guarding themselves, the stone fell down, and did them no harm. But the Romans contrived how to prevent that, by blacking the stone: who then could aim at them with success, when the stone was not discerned beforehand, as it had been till then: and so they destroyed many of them at one blow. Yet did not the Jews, under all this distress, permit the Romans to raise their banks in quiet. But they shrewdly and boldly exerted themselves, and repelled them, both by night, and by day.

Yes but this wasn’t it. The fall of Jerusalem was Gods punishment on His people for rejecting their Messiah. Deuteronomy 18: 18I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. 19And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him. Luke 19: 41Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, 42saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. 43For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, 44and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.” Because you did not know the time of your visitation! Why would God punish any other generation than the one guilty of murdering the messiah? Most of Revelation has to be about the fall of Jerusalem because it had no have been written before ad 70 because it’s not mentioned in the Bible. Many do not understand that the last days have come and gone. Scripture (KJV) teaches three timelines: the time past, the last days, and the latter times (end times). On the latter timeline lies a 7-year period called the latter days. Scripture informs us that the latter timeline begins when the church collectively comes to the full (a mindset) to believe another gospel, and deceives many to think they are something they are not, rapture ready. Just to let you know the last days came to an end on Sept. 29, 2008 Elul 29; that at sunset of Elul 29, the latter timeline began (Sept. 30 Tishri 1). Fourteen years from the beginning of the latter timeline, the latter days began at sunset of Sept. 25/26, 2022 Tishri 1 and ends at sunset of Sept. 09, 2029 Elul 29. Rapture comes after the first of two tribulations (tribulation and great tribulation), which comes after the Latter Rain (second outpouring of the Holy Spirit). After the tribulation of those days (both tribulations of the latter days) then comes His wrath, which is reserved for the ungodly and the disobedient children. God is Three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and these Three are one, amen.
Josephus's capture by Rome is an interesting story to begin with. Josephus was a convert to Hebrewism and not a bloodline son of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He tells a very detailed report of what happened during the Jewish Wars and the sacking of Jerusalem. Josephus also informs us about Yeshua; that Yeshua was short, not so handsome and black, totally the opposite of how Rome has depicted Yeshua..
I wonder why he called the land of Israel by the name Palestine when that name only came about after WW2. I got another question: why would he mentioned the cosmic signs and speak of comets that appeared in AD60 and AD66? The ones Jesus spoke of would occur after the abomination and after the tribulation of those days. Jesus said that the time he spoke of would be the worst ever and would never be matched. 1.1 million killed in AD70 was eclipsed by the WW2 holocaust and both events will be eclipsed by what is coming. So far I have watched 4 of his videos. How many will I have to view before he says what he believes?

In earlier times this might have been excused (although biblically questionable) because of its common usage. In light of the current propaganda war against Israel, however, Christians must now re-evaluate the term Palestine and consider whether it is biblically, theologically or prophetically accurate."

@@GreenTaqwa That question is not a hard one to answer, Christians love the land of Israel because God choose that location to be His own land. He put His name in the city of Jerusalem forever. Christians are waiting for the return of Christ. When He comes back, He is coming to Jerusalem and will rule the world from there for 1000 years. Israel has made and is still making some bad choices concerning Father God and His Son Jesus and that is not going to work out too well for them. In the last few years leading up to Jesus' return, 2/3 of them will be killed according to their prophet Zechariah but those that are left will see Jesus standing on the Mount of Olives and the scars in His hands and sides will prove they had been wrong. The New Testament says they will be saved in a day. Those left are called the remnant and will live and worship Christ during Christ's reign over the earth. Daniel describes times of Gentiles in statue of Nebuchadnezzar, it’s not Jerusalem, that rock not hewn by hands of men, that destroys before Kingdom, but the last Gentile empire. So to claim all had been fulfilled in 70 AD, doesn’t make sense. My subjective opinion, this is what happens when you ignore Tanakh and only use New Testament for interpretation. Short summary of several verses, that the Lord uses in the Gospels and ignore volumes of the chapters that the same Jesus spoke through Patriarchs, Moses, Prophets and Psalms on this topic, is more than inadequate. All GOD’s prophets always spoke of near limited fulfillment of certain event, but projecting the prophecy to the greater and distant future fulfillment. This was a way prophets fulfill the Torah requirement, to distinguish between true and false prophets. Thus first century was a lesser fulfillment of the greater future fulfilment of the 70th week of Daniel, to end the times of Gentiles and finish promised redemption of Daniels people, Israel. Church age is not a Gentile age, it’s a mystery age of Jews and Gentiles in a new Body of the Messiah and is no way, shape and form connected to any generation of prophecy, including earthly ministry of the LORD Yeshua the Messiah. There is no church replacing Israel, but some Gentiles are grafted in to the promises made to the fathers. PS. Romans did not invade Palestine, but invaded by then reunited kingdom of Israel, which took place during Assyrian and Babylonian invasions. Palestine did not exist until Romans attached this name out of spite to the land of Israel in 135 AD. It was, is and always be the Land God gave Israel, even when we rebel against Him.
Jesus predicted that the temple would be destroyed - not one stone of it left standing - yet he would rebuild the temple in 3 days. Do I have that right?
The Temple he was talking about was HIM. Not the building. The confusion lies in two different discourses by Jesus. They were stated on two different times, one concerning himself, and one concerning the Temple building.
He did say that the Temple building would be destroyed, with no stone upon another, just to be clear. And that particular prophecy was fulfilled, as well as his prophecy concerning His being raised on the third day.
@@davidgraham2673 True. Therefore, that place that Christians recognize as the wailing wall cannot be part of the Temple's remaining, because not ONE STONE shall be left upon another is the truth.

I agree..we are to receive the truth of prophesied events from a 1st century secular historian? Perhaps secular is debatable but he certainly wasn't a follower of Jesus. This to me is somewhat rediculous. Jesus was prophecying the same as the OT prophets and spoke of short term and long term fulfillments. Did the tribes see him and mourn? Nonsense, if they had, there would be an account besides Josephus.. I would also add that shouldn't we see this account littered throughout the first centuries church writings? Oooh cool thing! Deuteronomy chapter 28 speaks about the cannibalism that mothers will have for their children. (The same way the historian had an account of this.) Very interesting biblical parallel that points to the disobedience of the Israelite nation.
I've been taught that Jesus is fully man and fully God. Well man is stuck in time. God is outside of time. I'm not sure we are capable of understanding the olivet discourse fully because of this. I think it might even be possible that Jesus was talking about the 2nd temple and the 3rd temple at the same time. Just like the old testament prophets talked about the 1st coming and the second coming at the same time.
In AD70 there was no such place called Palestine so Sproul was mistaken on the occasions he talked about Palestine existing at that time. The name Palestine did not exist until AD135 when as an insult to the Jews and as part of punishing them for their rebellion, the Romans named the region after the Jews' traditional enemy the Philistines. Revelation was written in Nero's time. Revelation 17 points that out. There were 5 kings that had fallen: 1. Julius 2. Augustus 3. Tiberius 4. Caligula 5. Claudius There was the current emperor(Nero) and the one to come(Galba) was to stay a shortwhile. He was emperor a few months

In Matthew 24 Christ mixed the future of Jerusalem and the end of the world together - so some of the same events will happen again but there are also distinctions to be made. The events RC. Sproul is referring to did happen with the Lisbon earthquake in 1755 - it was the largest ever recorded ...there was the great eclipse / dark day of may 19 1780 and that night the moon had the appearance of blood -look this up on google...so some things passed in AD 70 but others throughout history
God destroyed Jerusalem in 722 BC and 586 BC, by the Assyrian army and the Babylonian army (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Job, Kings, Chronicles, Psalms); and, he destroyed it again in 70 AD (see: The Gospels), by the Roman legions, led by Titus and Vespasian. I don't recall in the Scriptures where it says God will destroy it again. Of course Rome fell in 410 AD. "Fallen, fallen, is Babylon the Great." And Constantonople fell in 1453.
What's happening there is vengeance for 70 ad. "Certain" are settling a score, with their neighbors, who in their holy literature are said they are not human, and, only bear the country's name, the Roman's gave it. Talk about obvious.

And the reason we don’t have a biblical account of the destruction of Jerusalem and its temple is because the Bible was written before it’s destruction (pre 70 AD).
@lesliestroud6656
Really?
Altho Peter Was never in rome
Paul never mentioned him in
Letter to the romans!

The New Covenant
[31] “Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, [32] not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the LORD.

13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

RC Sproul was a great teacher.
I would like to add the following from book VI and chapter 5 of the Josephus account which Sproul may have been remiss to omit:
"Thus there was a star, resembling a sword, which stood over the city: and a comet, that continued a whole year. This light seemed to be a good sign to the unskilful: but was so interpreted by the sacred scribes, as to portend those events that followed immediately upon it."
and also this:
"But what is still more terrible; there was one Jesus, the son of Ananus, a plebeian, and an husbandman, who, four years before the war began; and at a time when the city was in very great peace and prosperity; came to that feast whereon it is our custom for every one to make tabernacles to God in the temple, (17) began on a sudden to cry aloud, “A voice from the east; a voice from the west; a voice from the four winds; a voice against Jerusalem, and the holy house; a voice against the bridegrooms, and the brides; and a voice against this whole people.” This was his cry, as he went about by day and by night, in all the lanes of the city.

"non-Christian jews"? as opposed to Christian jews? :D
@@cn.st.182 Yes, Jews can be divided into 2 groups: Christian Jews and non-Christian Jews.
@@maxaplin4204 I agree and one thing that ruined evangelicalism for me is the blind support for zionism.

there IS a biblical account of A.D. 70. Jesus prophesied of it repeatedly,
and specifically in parables, and more directly at times. the prophets
did also. "these are the days of vengeance that all things that were written
may be fulfilled." certainly all the epistles and the book of revelation were
written before A.D.
This was bone chilling....

Josephus Book V, Chapter 6
Those that threw darts, and those that threw stones were more forcible, and larger than the rest; by which they not only repelled the excursions of the Jews, but drove those away that were upon the walls also.

But now they are hidden from your eyes. 43For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, 44and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”

Why would God punish any other generation than the one guilty of murdering the messiah?

Lmaoo Palestine has been the name of the holy land way before WW1 and WW2, do some research...
BTW it is Palestine then and now
@@GreenTaqwa @Patrice Chappell
thanks for the suggestion to do some research. I ran across some pretty good info.
www.levitt.com/essays/palestine
"Palestine, therefore, must now be considered a political propaganda term with massive anti-Israel implications. The world press uses the term to question the legitimacy of modern Israel. Christians also have used the term Palestine for centuries in referring to the Holy Land. In earlier times this might have been excused (although biblically questionable) because of its common usage. In light of the current propaganda war against Israel, however, Christians must now re-evaluate the term Palestine and consider whether it is biblically, theologically or prophetically accurate."
Coop's Homestead I don’t understand u Christians u support Israel but the Jews don’t even believe in Jesus matter of fact they tried 2 kill him. Why are u ppl support axis or evil?
I love Israel because Father God loves Israel and in His mercy He is not through with them yet.
Didn't Titus the son of the general who invaded Jerusalem also write about that?
And wasn't it the descendants of Cain who revolutionized weaponry?
I dont think titus left writings
If you’ve ever been to ‘Palestine’? Why would he call Israel by that name?
Sounds like Jesus already came back. What does that mean for us?
He hasn’t. There is no pre tribulation rapture. The fall of Jerusalem was the tribulation Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24. Jesus never taught a pre tribulation rapture. You can thank Tim lahaye for that lie
Do yourself a favor and research the phrase “this generation” in the Bible. There’s no instance in where it’s used where it refers to any generation other than the one He was speaking to at that moment. In other words, “this generation” never refers to a future generation
Read Matthew 24, luke 21, Mark 13. Jesus clearly states He came in the clouds. Josephus wrote the same. Armies and chariots in the sky. 70 ad
Generation back then was 40 years. Giving the time when Jesus told them this and the time of the destruction of Jerusalem.....interesting
It took the Romans three years to build a siege ramp...in that time the Hebrews ran out of food and they ate all the children...fulllfilling Christ's prophecy....he stumbled and fell to his knees...when he carried the cross ...a woman crying for him wiped his face...he told her ...do not cry for me..instead cry for the mothers with milk in their breast..but have no babies....?.....the cannibalism is what he meant...
They eat the born. sick evil. we are saints today . compare. i can see the hem flight plane cash cannibalisim.
Kabbalah is still practiced today and they still eat children
13:00 End times and disagreements on the end of the age verses end of the world. Jewish perspective.
@FURDOG1961, Christ came unto his own, and the knew Him not; they killed the Lord of glory, 1Peter. Remeber at His trial they said, "Let His blood be upon our children's heads."
Luke 19:41-44
@@LDavis-dd7lq , That seems logical. Perhaps the wall is part of the city fortifications. It seems too massive to be part of the Temple complex. Now you've piqued my curiosity.
@@LDavis-dd7lq , From what I can gather, the wailing wall is actually part of the Temple complex, but not part of the Temple itself. Therefore it would not necessarily be included in the prophecy given by Jesus Christ.
Can someone show me any evidence of 1st or 2nd generation Christians giving God glory or praising him for Jesus coming in the clouds as he promised? ?????? Of them saying anything like now that the temple is destroyed we are now in the new age?? or anything that sounds like they believed at all 70 AD fulfilled these scriptures??? Or why Justin martyr and others could be premillennial with no indication of a preterist view??
Josephus seems be like the prophets during the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians
It all ended in AD 70. Jesus and the first century disciples did everything needed to fulfill Yahweh's plan of redemption given exclusively to ancient Israelites cursed with the Old Covenant Law of sin and death. I'm so thankful that I've never been a biblical sinner under the curse of the Old Covenant Law of sin and death, never needing salvation/redemption for sins I've never committed as I've never been an ancient Israelite cursed with the Old Covenant Law.
I would love to see a documentary of the Jews from 70AD up until now. Or is it forever lost to history?😢
Partial Preterists believe that God judged the Jews first. Then he judged the Romans. Now he is judging the whole world.
Did josephus record every eye seeing HIS return? Perhaps the splitting of mt. of olives or the two witnesses? Details....???
No but because of the tense language in the bible we know it happened.

It is funny that no one questions what Josephus says. 😅
Why did they hold to a future coming of Jesus?
No kidding! Josephus wrote that the temple burned down. That's it! I read it myself. How on earth does a temple made of giant stones "burn down"? It's utterly absurd on its face. So why would I believe anything else he says?
@@netsolvea6395 you should read them. The fall of Jerusalem was a proof of Christ's legitimacy.
@@robd7409 go back and read what the Temple was built of. It wasn't just stone.
@@robd7409 the Romans, like those empires preceding them, knew how to burn stone buildings and cities. Jericho is an example. The heat becomes so fierce the stones crack and even melt in some cases.
There are no comets remember we have a solid firmament above us.
There are things in which we call comets that are indeed in the sky. As to what they are, we can only speculate. I remember the Hale Bopp very well and was amazed each day when I saw it. It was certainly there. I do believe in the same thing you are referencing, but you cannot try to exegete a change of history because this "comet" was certainly there. As was Hale Bopp.

Deuteronomy chapter 28 speaks about the cannibalism that mothers will have for their children. (The same way the historian had an account of this.)
Very interesting biblical parallel that points to the disobedience of the Israelite nation.
fulfilled in 2kings 6:29
They are not Holy, and they destroyed themselves..
He spoke of one temple
You recognize the herodian stones on the age all are framed called window stones.
This is a common error and leads to another common error which is the assumption that Palestine was every a country and had subjects called Palestinians - neither assumption is true.

MacArthur has it right (as usual). Daniel's 70th Week is yet unfulfilled. That 7 years begins with a peace treaty allowing the Jews to rebuild the temple one last time (before the Millennial Kingdom). The events of 70 AD hardly fulfilled the prophecy of The Revelation, which was written about 20 years later.
Yes, I find it interesting that RC said at the very beginning of the series that he was not going to go near Daniel's 70 week.
Daniel's 70th Week is key to proper understanding of Revelation. Why does God need to supernaturally convert 144,000 Jewish virgin men if the Church is still here? No one has ever been able to answer that question without insane contortions
Revelation was written in Nero's time. Revelation 17 points that out. There were 5 kings that had fallen:
1. Julius
2. Augustus
3. Tiberius
4. Caligula
5. Claudius
There was the current emperor(Nero) and the one to come(Galba) was to stay a shortwhile. He was emperor a few months
@ben.duffour haha no the 5 that have fallen are the 5 previous empires of the world not local kings (cf Daniel 2) Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, MP, Greece.
@ben.duffour these are WORLD dominating empires, just as anti christ will rule the world for a short time and Christ is the stone in Daniel who crushes them all.

Ah because you are to make disciples and witness to the truth of God.
Being Cesar was dangerous.
Babylon the great is Jerusalem. Full preterists acknowledge that but they say it is referring to 70 AD. I dont think it has happened yet.
What's happening there is vengeance for 70 ad. "Certain" are settling a score, with their neighbors, who in their holy literature are said they are not human, and, only bear the country's name, the Roman's gave it. Talk about obvious.
