Tesla Model Y | Planning A Road Trip ? Here Are Some Tips To Maximize Your Charging Time

This is my 2022 Tesla Model Y Long range. I Just completed my first 850 mile road trip in my Model Y. The car did great, it was awesome to have the Long Range battery. In this video I share some insights I learned on this trip to consider when you are planning your road trip in your Tesla.

Well done video with great advice. I just got the Tesla CCS adapter for my Model Y. Setting up Autocharge+ with EVgo was simple and easy. I use the A Better Routeplanner app to select charging stops where I will need bathroom or food breaks, and also use the criteria suggested in this video to select the best chargers for a faster road trip.

250 miles when it's rated for 325 is such a drop...
Yes, I know that EPA estimates are calculated using certain variables. I just wish EVs(specifically Tesla) would atleast get a little closer to the EPA estimates.
280 ot 290 miles would be acceptable.

Myks, at the 8:36 mark in the video the battery range (up top next to the battery symbol), shows a range of 257 miles, but the route planner shows the distance you need to travel is only 223 miles, yet you don't have enough battery to get there according to the trip calculation. Why does the car say you have enough with 257, but the trip planner calculator says you don't? TIA

Well it was cold and the trip planner gives conservative estimates so you're not stranded. From what I seen if you will get to the super charger with less than 10%. It will route you to an earlier supercharger, I chose to ignore the trip planner suggestion to skip over a spot, and it worked out pretty well
