Gonna start off by saying the trader joes soyrizo is the best premade store bought plant based mock-chorizo. I usually make tacos from it, but more often I made a sweet potato/russet potato soyrizo hash 🙏🏼

Caitlin Shoemaker has an awesome recipe for chili on her blog using this exact same soyrizo! I frickin love it because it already has so much flavor in it. I will have to try it in tacos or make a breakfast burrito with it some time

For soy chorizo you can try like scrambled "eggs" with chorizo, that is the way we eat it on Mexico, also with beans or in tacos is delicious, just some ideas :) Have a great day!

Thank you! I had this at a breakfast buffet in 2021 and I fell in love with it. It was sauteed with peppers, onions, & mushrooms. I've been looking for ways to replicate it since.

I blend edamame and make a dip or spread, which is great for wraps or toast.
-Miso can be blended with soaked almonds, then add coconut kefir to make a “cheese”…add white miso, nutritional yeast, garlic lemon and psyllium husk, lemon, salt and refrigerate for an hour. Incredible raw vegan cheese that can be added to wraps, salads etc.
-Avocado blended with cacao and xylitol or stevia to flavor, makes an amazing quick dessert and pudding.
-Two tbs of psyllium husk & baking powder, added to coconut flr, makes a great vegan Naan bread(keto friendly)-Recipe on Headbanger’s kitchen-Vegan keto naan.
-Quinoa is a great source of protein, along with Hemp seeds. I throw this in almost all my salads with my favorite Red Bell Pepper Dressing(Pure Joy Planet recipe)) I promise, you will keep a jar of this in your fridge. So amazing.
    1.5 c red bell pepper
    1/4 c carrot
    1.5 tbs ginger (fresh)
    1 clove garlic
    3 TBS sweetener(agave or stevia)
    1.5 tbs lemon
    2.5 tbs apple cider vinegar
    1.5 tsp sea salt
    1/2 c olive oil
    Blend all ingredients until smooth
-serve over salad with quinoa or over veggie pasta, beans etc. Amazing I promise!:)
-Just Egg scramble with nutritional yeast and sautéed spinach, onions, peppers, diced jalapeños topped with veganaise mixed with siracha or hot sauce, has become a favorite of mine.
-I don’t use any faux meats, though I’ve tried them all.
-walnuts chopped and soaked, add miso, tahini, mexican seasoning cumin to make like meat
-chopped mushrooms or lentils will work too
-celery root is great to use as meat substitute

Super helpful video. Just went out today and purchased some of these items you suggested. I did notice though that the edamame macros you mentioned were incorrect. It’s actually roughly 30 grams of protein per package, not per 1/2 cup. 1/2 cup has 9g of protein.
Really enjoyed this type of content. Would love more videos like this.

    • @TC-cy8xs
      @TC-cy8xs 10 місяців тому +1

The processed soy chorizo isn’t a healthy option either, but I know when ppl are making the transition, it’s an easier process. Agave is low glycemic and vegan. Refined cane sugar uses bone char in the refining process, so it would not be considered vegan. Use unrefined or raw sugar. Diabetics would not be able to use this though so, agave, xylitol, stevia would be low glycemic alternatives to cane sugar, which would be acceptable for diabetics.

Faux meats are not whole food plant based. They are vegan, but are highly processed with most having preservatives as well. Super high sodium.
There are so many truly plant based alternatives that are so much healthier.
    -chopped mushrooms
    -chopped and soaked walnuts
    -Mushrooms and walnuts
    -lentils
    -celery root
add seasoning such as miso, cumin, mexican seasonings etc to give them that meaty flavor.
