I just wanted to thank you for inspiring me to become a maker again. After I saw your sconce video a few years ago it gave me the desire to get back into building. I’m now self employed and doing well. Thanks Zach!
This is so good to hear. UA-cam has been pretty rough for me the past year or so--so much so that I sometimes debate whether or not it's actually worth my investment of time. Hearing stuff like this makes it worth it :)
@@ZHFabrications supposed to use a welder made for it, but you can be dirty. That wire runs $25 a pound though, I used it in my havan kund video to "weld" copper
Great video. Table is a beauty. That bronze detail is super creative. Ashley needs to sneak some new oil back into that old tin. Mahalo for sharing! : )
Great video and great to see you back again. Love your music and great use of the epoxy too! I hope you don’t mind me mentioning that at some points the video was a little shaky but such a good end product
Wow. That’s talent. Something like that is a lot harder to make than you’d think especially forging it and getter the four legs to look the same. Way to go bro. Gotta day you have tons of talent. Thanks for the video. Hope to see more more otter but I understand if your busy. Craftsmen usually are.
Well, it certainly helps if you do all the forging and then take it to the bandsaw to chop everything to the same length. If you'd like to see someone that forges metal TO the right length, check out Mark Aspery.
Having watched this process on IG, I know exactly how much time you spent practicing each of these features to learn how to get them just right. The result is a stunning piece of art. And the epoxy comment cracked me up just as much the second time around. Ashley killed it on the edit! Thanks for sharing!
awesome project! Just a videography tip for Ashely, I would suggest using a tripod for certain shots. Shooting everything handheld without a gimbal creates a lot of micro jitters.
So glad to see new material, Zach! You’re one of the best creators on the UA-cam. On a par with Casey Neistat, if you’re familiar with him. Whole different content, but super creative.
I'm feeling really guilty that the progress has slowed. I've just been so busy sine the move I haven't really had much time for it, and now that I have a bit of time/motivation, it's too cold out to shoot paint :( I'm hoping 2021 is the year!
I feel like I have to say the table is not going to explode and kill your family due to wood movement, it really looks more like the type to lurk around corners and mug strangers... Great job, I love the texture of forged steel
When you're figuring out cutoff lengths, assume that mass is conserved and density is constant. Figure out the volume of the forged part and then cut off that much LxWxH (or just eyeball it... It's a table, not a watch)
For the most part yeah, it's fairly reliable with stuff like this--you do lose some material through scaling etc(which can become significant with damascus). The issue with this sort of forging is efficiency: you can calculate and allocate material, but forging tapers and stuff to exact dimensions is never rarely perfect, so there is always a bit of guessing and a lot of tinkering/tweaking.
Looks great! Nicely done. Even though I really like your music, I had to keep turning the volume up and down during the video. Perhaps equalize the music level with your voice next time?
Wow....for a minute there I thought sure you were going to ruin it with that godforsaken epoxy. Thankfully, you put the epoxy in the proper spot. I hereby proclaim we're going to defund river tables!
"I'm just going to sand this and put some finish on it, because it's wood." LOL! Perfect!
I like Ashley's video style! Also cool table
That boiled linseed oil was such a good oil. Never said a bad thing about any other oils. Will be missed.
Awesome to see a video from you again!
Loved this so much I came back for a second watch since I get to see it in person on Friday night. Loved the new style of video.
Missed your videos sir. Hopefully the algorithm lets this free to the masses!
Thanks!
Yeah, I've been trickling out a few videos, but YT doesn't seem to be notifying my subscribers anymore :(
Looks super rad.... miss seeing ZH uploads!!
I like the new style on the video. Great work
Thank you!

You are the reason UA-cam is worth it. Keep grinding brother! I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for that video!
Quick and dirty cheat is you can put SiBro wire in your mig welder and run it with 100% argon. it's "MIG brazing" and works great
Holy shit. I didn't know that was a thing.

I absolutely love this. The pictures and video don’t do this table justice - it’s even more ridiculous in person! You killed this.
That turned out very unique and beautiful. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend forge on. Keep making.
Will do, Thank you!
I hear you 1001 little projects in the way. I always have enjoyed all your content your Nicholson workbench got me hooked to start with.
The epoxy and wood movement bits had me 😂😂.
Came out great Zach. Keep up the awesome work!

Excellent work and THANK YOU for not opting for the current trend of adding epoxy to your project. I hate the stuff. I wish it would go away.
Love this project! Fantastic work man!
That was a great project! The edit was so fun too.

Ope. You're officially from Ohio now. Beautiful job, that is awesome! So glad you're still putting out videos. I enjoy your work. Keep it up
Yes! Thank you!
@@ZHFabrications do you plan on doing meet ups again once this whole covid mess clears up enough to be social again?
That's a sharp looking table. Great work! I have an ash slab I need to do something with at some point.

Cool idea with the silicon bronze accents. Wonder how it would show up in your touch mark?
The thought crossed my mind, I figured I'd test that and maybe save it for another project :)

Absolutely amazing work mate! Just out of curiosity, do you think ash or oak is better for exploding tabletops? Asking for a friend
Bloodwood is the best :)
@@ZHFabrications Excellent!
We're saving the exploding tables for 2021. I have several ticking time bombs in my house. That table is stunning man.

How is the c10 coming along?
That table is a work of art, except for the shiny screws on the bottom.
Очень круто 😲
