Hello The NEW Reel (Brittany & Chad) ! Nightwish fans here, your musical quest summoned us. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band, performing at Wacken Open Air in 2013, together with Floor Jansen, the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K+ audience. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. As I saw, you enjoyed the powerful performance of the band. Hope you'll continue on this path. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [The 1st Bassist of the band was Sami Vanska, he was with them until 2001. The 2nd one was Marco Hietala, as Bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. Then very recently (May 2021) Jukka Koskinen became the 3nd Bassist of the band, for at least the Human :II: Nature tour] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " Hoping you'll continue this journey with us, I'll drop here a list of songs (with links) with the current lineup of the band you may like (please consider this list of links only as "a tip of the iceberg", an indication that they have a vast and very diverse repertoire, and not as something mandatory): "Storytime" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) ua-cam.com/video/pvkYwOJZONU/v-deo.html "Romanticide" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/zz_7OCCQlXs/v-deo.html "Ever Dream" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) ua-cam.com/video/1Xi4n8dJcF8/v-deo.html "Song Of Myself" live at Wacken 2013 (dark/metal) ua-cam.com/video/lQu5QjidHWg/v-deo.html "Dead Boy's Poem" - live Buenos Aires 2018 (soulful ballad) ua-cam.com/video/S8E3L7ggLMM/v-deo.html "Ghost River" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/05eitd-EA6I/v-deo.html "Dark Chest Of Wonders" live at Wacken 2013 (metal, the greatest show opener ever) ua-cam.com/video/OvOD6xecph4/v-deo.html "My Walden" live at Wembley 2015 (celtic / folk) ua-cam.com/video/knqeI807ZlY/v-deo.html "Sleeping Sun" live at Vizovice Masters of Rock festival 2016 (ballad) ua-cam.com/video/pVPTUEW1PEM/v-deo.html "The Islander" live at Tampere 2015 (Marco in charge..) ua-cam.com/video/Zo8ncK_5kzc/v-deo.html "Stargazer" live at Tampere 2015 (operatic vocals / metal) ua-cam.com/video/NhEuAPYm_Ug/v-deo.html "Alpenglow" live at Wembley 2015 (uplifting / metal) ua-cam.com/video/FrJvKZNEh7g/v-deo.html "Sahara" live at Tampa 2016 (middle eastern vibe) ua-cam.com/video/lTvYfLa4Wlk/v-deo.html "Slaying The Dreamer" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/wA44tjaP5n0/v-deo.html "I Want My Tears Back" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (celtic / folk vibe) ua-cam.com/video/TBOdgxjb0kM/v-deo.html "Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean" live In Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/t26r_vAYQ0Q/v-deo.html "Weak Fantasy" live at Tampere 2015 (dark metal) ua-cam.com/video/AN239Pbqbjo/v-deo.html "7 Days To The Wolves" live at Wembley 2015 (dark metal) ua-cam.com/video/XvsfwAPbWXc/v-deo.html And if you want to hear Floor growling :) then try "Yours Is An Empty Hope" live at Mexico City in 2015 ua-cam.com/video/DuwY1d-KIss/v-deo.html Last but not the least - they just released their 9th studio album on April 10th 2020 named "Human :||: Nature" - just take a peek to their official playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg.html (for example: "Shoemaker", the 3rd track from this album, tells the story of Eugene Shoemaker, one of the founders of planetary science, whose ash was sent on the Moon after his death, as a tribute from the scientific community ..) Gabriel we have already heard so much about you lol We are happy to finally meet you (informally) - we would first like to say thank you for such an awesome welcome, it’s not everyday that you get such an amazing welcome when doing what we do. - a little about us - we pride ourselves on doing “Reactions” different than everyone else on UA-cam, so much as we prefer to be called Commentary more that reaction- we understand that in the YT community reaction is what we are doing and yes we do “react” so we understand but the conversation and community is what drives us after the music itself of course. Britt and I share a love of ALL MUSIC - we do a lot of hip hop on our channel because I actually used to do hip hop music but as you can and will hopefully eventually see we actually LOVE all music and will feature EVERYTHING on our channel with the intent to deep dice into the discussion that music can open up between people. We love the fact that everyone gets their own feels out of a piece of music and like to discover what that is. So a lot of our videos are quite a bit longer than most others and we get a lot of hate for that but we stand firm in what we do and we are here to listen - react and discuss. We try to premiere every video with notice so people can come and join us in discussion alone with the real-time playback of the video in real-time as I do the editing and Brit has made it a point to wait until the premiere to watch the final product with you all. This is what we love about what we do. It gets us hyped all over again just like when we first do the reaction. We are also incorporating live reviews as much as we can depending on what is on the real life agenda so we can once again discuss and connect in real time. To answer you - YES - we definitely like NW enough to keep seeking out what they have to offer. The fact that you and others have described them as having such diversity has really peaked our interest as we love being surprised lol this was exactly that a HUGE surprise! We are going to try to listen to at least 1 NW track a week hopefully more but only time will tell as we do this in our spare time and have two kids a dog and full time jobs. We try to put out videos daily but have been known to go a week without as we will always tend to our real life first but we hope to possibly one day get to do this full time and devote as much time as we do love into what we do. Thanks again for such an amazing welcome and we would like to add what you are doing by continuing this work in memory is such an inspiring and heart warming thing to hear we would like to commend you for that. That already shows us what kind of person you are. And thank you for such a in depth break down of what we can find and we plan on doing just as you have suggested. So thank you again and we hope to see you in either the comments, premieres, or lives and look forward to a connection and great conversation about such an awesome band that we have finally discovered! MUCH LOVE! Chad and Brit
@@TheNEWReel Thank you guys, the Nightwish story goes very deep and to venture into that. You have to pass the gate first and Gabriel Bardac is the gatekeeper who will advise you! I see you've pinned his comment!! Awesome, now sit back and relax and have an awesome Nightwish adventure! Trust me, you are not alone on this adventure!! Subscribed. I wish you well Chad & Brit!! Can't wait to see more. Edit: Welcome to the Nightwish Army! I think you'll have noticed it already, with all the comments lol.
@@TheNEWReel Hello, again :) I woke up this morning with the notification of your reaction, already about 4 hours old (yes, there is a significant difference of 7-10 hours between Romania and the US) so today you two were part of my morning routine :) Thank you for opening up to other genres of music, and I understand you perfectly in this regard, because I'm not a metalhead either. But I was attracted a few years ago by the magnet of intense optimistic energy of the band, unmatched in everything I've heard so far. This moment coincided with a set of dramatic changes in my life, which I struggled to overcome. The energy of Nightwish music proved to be essential in my support in those difficult times. They are "to blame" that I can still enjoy life, that I can still smile. From what I understand in these years, I am not a singular case among fans, many others consider that Nightwish music supported them in difficult moments in life. No one will ask you to assume unrealistic targets, such as "N reactions / week", but to realize that they have created, in 25 years, an ocean of music of astonishing diversity and beauty. I look forward to your next reaction, and I subscribe to that. Greetings from Romania :)
@@gabriel.bardac exactly that. Just like you Im not a metalhead myself. But similar to your situation NW gave me the energy to overcome difficult times. But besides the energy most of their music is positive, full of dimensions, in a way poetic, high quality, the best componist and frontwoman in the world etc etc Its unbelievable that so many of us share the same emotions. In a way we fans gave the same energy to each other. That is one of the reasons i keep on playing their music and keep on reading many reactions. And in real life, my situation is a lot better now. I hope yours too, my friend. All the best from the Netherlands.
"Oh, it's a female". This is The Goddess of Metal, her divine Highness from the Netherlands, Floor Jansen. She is - in my opinion - the best vocalist on the planet. She nails any genre. If you look at the Beste Zangers 2019 show, you will see that.
Best vocalist in the planet is DIMASH, galaxies away from any other. And check Monica Naranjo, songs Europa, and Doble Corazón. She could be easily Nightwish lead singer.
You guys cracked me up…good stuff. A couple of things: not only does Floor sound like this live, but keep in mind this song was #13 of 15, so by the time this song came up in the set she’d already been singing like that for almost 90 minutes. Nightwish is from Finland (but Floor, the singer, is from the Netherlands) and has been around since the mid1990s. They are a very diverse band…not all of their songs sound like this, and every time you react to a song you’ll probably say something about how different it is from the last one. This was recorded at the 2013 Wacken ( pronounced Vahken) Open Air festival in Germany in front of an audience of 82,000 people. The fiery bull head is the symbol of the festival, not the band. Tuomas, the keyboard player, writes the majority of the music snd lyrics. You’ll find that Marko, the bass player, is also a great singer. As beginners, I’d stick with live versions from this show to start with…to get some idea of their different textures, I’d recommend from this Wacken 2013 show: Song of Myself, Storytime, Romanticide, and Everdream. New subscriber in hopes of more Nightwish.
Awesome! Thank you so much for the info! We needed it that’s for sure lol we will definitely look into more of the songs they did at this festival. I can’t imagine the stamina it would take to be able to perform not only of that magnitude but in front of that many people! Smh crazy thanks again for the info and the support it means a lot! Much Love!
@@TheNEWReel Even a correction to Chris if I may. Every Nightwish song is a different adventure to be honest. All what Chris D said is true, want some harder style Nightwish?, either Romanticide or Yours an empty hope (last one has Floor growling in the song) But either way, read the comment from Gabriel Bardac on Nightwish. He has alot of info and links for Nightwish songs if you want to learn more! For Chris D: The new song Shoemaker which is a very tough and complex song, even in the studio they had to do this many times over. Floor did this live on July 28, 2021 only about 2 weeks ago, and ofcourse perfectly! ua-cam.com/video/N5R6q2GsTgA/v-deo.html
@@TheNEWReel Not only stamina. The lyrics (if you enable subtitles) are both creative and don't conform to standard rhyme, they take a lot from all three singers (you only heard one of them) to properly convey the message.
The most rewarding rabbit hole in music. I tell you what, Nightwish are a never-ending source of goosebumps and emotion. Its such a magical experience discovering them :)
This is EXACTLY what we look for on this channel, ESPECIALLY Brit lol she looooves the goosebumps that she gets when finding new music. Thanks for the comment you rock!

As an American, you're not wrong, and it's damn sad too. I've been listening to European metal since the 90's when I spent a summer traveling Europe and was exposed to the metal scene in Germany.
@@gageous8306 I think the cancelling of music on MTV is a big factor. Also american radio due to how the economic constellation the commercial incomes is made. Much Love to you enlightened citizen 💙💛💙
@@D-ragon-S I haven't listened to the radio in years. The way they play it you would think rock died in 2005. It makes me sad. I have discovered some of my favorite bands and songs by just clicking a genre and letting it play. Nightwish, Epica, Luca Turilli... all discovered by that method over the years.
Soooooooo...if you haven't figured out by now, you've been *invaded* by the Nightwish Army! By far the friendliest army you'll ever run into. Gabriel our "herald" and general has been here already. That just leaves me to say "welcome!" and can't wait to see what you think of this journey!
Wacken 2013 starring Nightwish and co-starring the 80,000 is..wow!! The energy this band always creates with their crowd connection is incredible!! Sensory overload….NW style!!
Two more souls swept away by our Valkyrie goddess. Floor Jansen, pronounced Yan-sen, is the best female vocalist today. She can sing any style, any genre, from full opera to death growls. You will be visited by Gabriel Bardac soon. He will give you the history of Nightwish and will recommend several songs to watch. Usually Storytime from the same Wacken show is next. The live shows are always recommended as they are quite spectacular as you have seen. The Nightwish rabbit hole is deep and well worth the dive. Subbed to join you on your Nightwish journey. Enjoy the ride.
we cant wait to meet gabriel! This is going to be one of the best rabbit holes yet we can already tell lol you all show some amazing love for these artist and we absolutely love that!
Nightwish from Finland and Floor Jansen from The Netherlands, a match made in Valhalla, and a gift from Odin to mankind. What more can we mortals wish for?
Just dropped another Nightwish about two hours ago as well. We LOVE all genres of music. We do not discriminate lol thank you for watching and commenting- Much Love

NASA (Nightwish Army Scottish Allegiance) Welcome to the greatest musical journey you will ever experience! the NW Army are on there way enyoy the ride! Greetings from Scotland 🥃👍
Great reaction. Floor Jansen is a vocal athlete with incredible range, versatility, vocal stamina, and stage presence. She is a spinto soprano with a range of almost four octaves (D3-G#5-F6). When listening to her sing, it is apparent that she has spent the better part of her life fine-tuning her instrument with help from several vocal coaches. Floor can sing in multiple languages and genres and is a Master vocal coach. It is incredible how she is able to take any song from any genre and make it her own. This woman is a true gift to her craft and an incredible addition to a band that has always been great until 2013 when they officially hired the undisputed Queen of Metal, Floor Jansen, making Nightwish the greatest band on the planet. Welcome to the Nightwish rabbit hole. Nightwish Army U.S.A. 🇺🇸🤘🏽 ( Urban Operators ) in the house. Make sure you follow Gabriel’s set list.
The festival is the biggest metal festival in the world and takes place in a small German village, called Wacken, with a population of less than 2000 people. Just at this show, there were 87,000 people in the audience. Well, and you have already been filled in about the band by Gabriel :)
_In Loving Memory of Ann Waychoff_ _Mother of the Nightwish Army_ NW Army Member (Floor-ida Chapter) reporting for duty! ☆ _REQUEST_ ☆ Please do "Shudder Before the Beautiful" and "Yours Is An Empty Hope" (If you haven't), both live from Wembley if you haven't already ofcourse. ☆ _NOTE_ ☆ This performance features ex bassist/vocalist Marco Hietala and former drummer Jukka Nevalainen. The following will inform you about the band in general and current members. Enjoy! ☆ ☆ ☆ Nightwish ☆ ☆ ☆ Nightwish is a definitive LIVE band founded in Kitee, Finland in 1996. They're considered symphonic metal but they don't fit into just any one category. They're basically their own genre. They're never better than on stage. So they're BEST shows (to literally pick anything from) are... Wacken 2013 Wembley Buenos Aires Tampere Nightwish was founded in Finland but they're current lineup are all finnish except the current singer, Floor Jansen (Netherlands, but lives in Sweden) and Troy Donockley (Wales). Nightwish is not just a band. They are a JOURNEY. An EXPERIENCE. They are magical. They can melt your face off or make you cry (from sadness or joy). This is a long deep rabbit hole and its pure magic. They have NO bad songs. They are so good, more and more reactors are reacting to whole shows! ☆ _CURRENT MEMBERS (As of 2021)_ ☆ Tuomas Holopainen (Keyboards/Composer) _"The Metal Maestro"_ Floor Jansen (Yansen) (Vocals) _"The Valkyrie Goddess"_ Jukka (Yukka) Koskinen (Bass) New Unofficial Member/Session Player_ Emppu Vuorinen (Guitar) _"The Jokester"_ Troy Donockley (Pipes/Whistles/Vocals) _"Jack of All Trades"_ Kai Haito (Drums) _"Winters Favorite Son"_ ☆ _FORMER MEMBERS_ ☆ Tarja Turunen (1st Vocalist) Annette Olzon (2nd Vocalist) Marco Hietala (Bass/Vocals - SEEN HERE) Jukka Nevalainen (Drums - SEEN HERE) Sammi Vänskä ☆ _STUDIO ALBUM RELEASES_ ☆ Angels Fall First (1997) Oceanborn (1998) Wish Master (2000) Century Child (2002) Once (2004) Dark Passion Play (2007) Imaginaerum (2011) Endless Forms Most Beautiful (2015) Human :||: Nature (2020) ☆ _DVD/LIVE SHOWS_ ☆ From Wishes To Eternity (2001) End of Innocence (2003) End of an Era (2007) Imaginaerum (NW movie) (2012) Showtime, Storytime (Wacken 2013) Vehicle of Spirit (Wembley) (2015) Decades (Buenos Aires) (2018) ☆ _RESEARCH_ ☆ I get the genuine reactions but when it comes to Nightwish, 2 songs absolutely have to be researched and with lyrics in order to understand it or you're completely depriving yourself of the full experience and the feeling of the songs. #1) The Poet & The Pendulum (live at Wembley). It's insanely deep, personal and based on a real situation that happened. Basically the firing of the 1st singer. Its Tuomas lyrical suicide. Just trust me. Lyrics and research. Or the reaction wouldn't be genuine because you wouldn't know the reason or meaning. #2) Master Passion Greed (There is no live version as they will never play it live for personal reasons. Same situation. Aimed at first singer but mainly her husband. Its angry af and their hardest track.) ☆ _Welcome to the beauty, the magic, and the wonder...that is Nightwish_ ☆
Here's your challenge: Find a Nightwish song you won't love. It can't be done. They're truly a one of a kind band that attracts all kinds of music fans. Floor Jansen may legitimately be the best female singer alive right now as well. I suggest you look up some of her solo performances, both on her personal UA-cam and from the show "Beste Zangers". I suggest starting with her cover of "Shallow".
Heh heh anything with Annette I don't love and a lot with Tarja I don't love, From Tarja I like most though. But then again I'm not into metal. Floor rules
Nightwisher from the start here, so I'd have to say I don't love their newest album Human. Give me 10~20 years and it may grow on me. Took me a long time to cope with Annette - now I'm good with a good portion of her stuff. Takes time to change one's ways. ;) Love Floor, but just don't love the newest songs. :( Tarja, Jukka, Marko - miss you all! Would love to see a Nightwish reunion with EVERYone assembled. If anyone could make it work, Tuomas could.
@@michaelm.1947 Love that last thought. Beautiful comment. To give my 2 cents I think Human Nature is a little pretentious. But it has a few nice songs and the last part of Shoemaker. Don't know if I'll change my opinion. Old dogs and such.
Band is from Finland. Wacken is in Germany. Awesome band. This whole show is golden. Floor Jansen is a vocal Olympian! She commands the audience like no other.
Welcome to the adventure that is NIGHTWISH. Every song you listen to will amaze you even more. I see the Army is already here. Maine, USA Division, reporting in. Buckle up!
What a great reaction, guys! 👏👏 Really authentic, that’s what you wanted and you did it. I trust you didn’t know what was on its way and I enjoyed watching you get the whole experience. So, thumbs up for you, I guess there will be a lot of recomendations to Nightwish and other “top-10 songs you have to react to”…..I hope to see your next video, thank’s for doing this, Greetings from Chile 👋😊🙌…..stay safe!
thank you for such an awesome welcome we are actually going to be doing a LIVE REACTION to some NIGHTWISH songs this WEDNESDAY so hope to see you there!!
Nightwish Army, Swiss legion reporting! Welcome to this awesome community of music lovers. We usually joke about being an army, but we're actually more like a family. Some of us have been listening to Nightwish since the early days of "Angels fall first" (1996) and "Oceanborn" but a growing number of fans are discovering them now, thanks to youtube and reactions like yours. We're all here because we remember how each of us was blown away the first time we encountered this music and we love to see other people like us, making this once of a lifetime discovery, that I think will change your perception of metal music and maybe even your life (it surely changed mine). NW music is big, epic and finely crafted: it takes you places and communicate feelings in the way only the best art is capable of doing. So I've no doubts music lovers like you will enjoy this ride. Take your time and save "The Poet and the pendulum" for last (and when you decide to do it PLEASE make some research BEFORE listening to the song. This is a single exception you should do in your rule of "no reasearch before listening"). Can't wait to see your comments and your reactions in your next videos.
I hope you two have been converted into fans by now. Every song nightwish does is amazing. They tour in the US about once every 4 or 5 years. You guys should come out and see them. We get people from all walks of life at their concerts and everyone has a great time!
@JACOB We are FOR SURE fans of NIGHTWISH now lol we actually just did a Livestream featuring our newest reaction of theirs but the live has been taken down due to copyrights so we will be releasing an individual video of it in the near future. If we have the opportunity to go to one of their show I can guarantee you we will lol the next video of their we are going to check out is going to be "the greatest show on earth" We are pumped! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment. Much Love
Two more souls captured by our Valkyrie Goddess Queen of metal. Keep up the Nightwish reactions. It will change your life and appreciation for music. NW Army Virginia reporting 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
They formed as a band in 1996. This singer (Floor Jansen) is the 3rd vocalist for the band. This festival was in Germany. They just came out with a new album.
I actually like the fact that reactions are all different and have their own personality. LOVED your reactions! Take the journey down the Nightwish rabbit hole! You will NOT regret it! Storytime and Romanticide from the same concert should be next on your list!!!
Nightwish army Dutch division - South-West legion reporting for duty. Love to see how this was epic to you. If they only knew that this is just the beginning of the rabbit hole. Believe me or not... it gets better.
Hi Brittany & Chad, Nightwish Army, UK division here. Welcome to the world of Nightwish. I see Gabriel has been in contact already, so you're are in safe hands, he will guide you on your journey. All I can add is to say strap yourselves in and enjoy the journey, which is Nightwish.
NightWish Army, New Zealand Division reporting: Nice reaction to this *epic* song. One of the best rock songs ever, IMHO. Plenty of other great NightWish songs out there too: Poet and the Pendulum, Shoemaker, Gethsemane, Dead Boy's Poem, How's the Heart (acoustic), Sleeping Sun, Phantom of the Opera, Greatest Show on Earth. A variety of styles there, including two vocalists: Floor and Tarja.
Nightwish were the headliners and closed out a multi-day outdoor festival in Germany. 82,000 people stayed to the very end to catch Nightwish's set. Many of them had never even seen Floor perform with the band before.
Man, I discovered Floor with her performance of "The phantom of the Opera", I was blown away, next Nightwish, I was not even into metal at all, Nightwish is now my favorite band, listening to them or Floor, every day.....you will enjoy the ride....
Nightwish Army Kentucky chapter reporting in! You have just met our Metal Goddess Floor Jansen! ❤ The band is from Finland, with the exception of Floor (The Netherlands) and Troy (UK).
Great that you found the best band there is on this globe and Metal Mozart on keys. He has made an album of Disney Scrooge as well. They just are about to release their 10th album and started in 1996. It is a Finnish symphonic metal band and leader of the genre.
Nightwish Shadow Unit from Estonia reporting in ! Valkyrie Goddess spotted ! Gabriel Bardac entered ! Floor her name is derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring, Flora. She has a range beyond belief, she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy (Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than three octaves D3 to F6). Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at "After Forever", she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band "ReVamp", which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020. Take Gabriel's list as a guide to your journey. We are on Standby mode for now .... We hope, that there is more coming. 🤘😎🤘.
Nightwish🔥💥🤘 is my all-time favorite band. Great music, vocally AMAZING and good friends together. Every song is different, with a good story. Love from the Netherlands ❤🤍💙🧡🇳🇱 🙋🏼♀️😘
If it's "epic" that you want, Nightwish - "The Greatest Show On Earth".....live from Tampere, is mind blowing. The lyrics are some of the finest to ever grace a rock song.
Great first reaction to Nightwish! Floor is a classically trained (vocal coach) who fronts Metal bands. Because this is a score, nothing repeats itself, giving you the interlude in the middle. I'm 80 years old and love this band!! How awesome it must be to sing in front of 80,000 people who adore you!
One of new hobbies from 2022 is discovering people experiencing Nightwish for the first time :) I finally saw them live in december of '22, so yeah they're still going! couple of changes with regards to band members, but man they are the f* best live, honestly :D
Nightwish Army Germany reports for Duty: What you should do: Listen to Gabriel. He knows. Dont use shortcuts...stick to the Running order...it will be a treat.... Great Reaction !! I think our Queen captured two new Souls...:-) Continue your Journey - You will like it ! And be sure....this was just the tip of the Iceberg.... Floor Jansen, First of Her Name, Queen of the Valkyries, Lady of Nightwish and Protector of our Metal Realm. Long may she reign. Bow, mortal !
Hey gurl, you’re not wrong mentioning Disney vibes through the song. Tuomas (the Compositor) has got much influence for Disney movies, stories and soundtrack 🙃 Have a great ride guys!
INCOMING!!!! The Nightwish Army approach. Central Florida Brigade here for duty. This is what music is supposed to be. Felt not just heard. Enjoy your journey.
Hello!!! You are one of the few people who, correctly, figured out the "Score" of "Ghost Love Score." That alone deserves a thumbs up! Will be checking your other videos soon! Also, the comment about live performances is also spot on, especially with Floor. Great Review!
I’m addicted to watching these -I hear for the first time-reactions. Usually every time the facial expressions are stunning to look at. So it was now. Thank you @thenewreel for your reaction, which was intense from start to finish🧡. I think you got me a follower of your account and I am especially looking forward to your next NW reaction. Thx for make my day better😍🙏 Nightwish is surprising and never sounds the same. As you mentioned, live are the best, superior. Imo they are the mix of cold and diamond☺.
Nightwish Army from Finland here! Nightwish is a great band, I heard them for the first time when I was 6 y.o. (11 years ago with Tarja still in the band) I just LOVE Floor Jansen! No matter how many times I hear the same song again. Have seen them live two times also. I recommend you to react to nightwish-the greatest show on earth (LIVE AT TAMPERE) and poet and the pendulum (do the back round check)
Nightwish army MN division reporting for duty! So glad you guys found nightwish! This will be a rabbit hole of a lifetime for you! Storytime, shudder before the beautiful, last ride of the day... there's too many to name for you to check out! Rock on! ❤️🤘
Although you say you don't do research on the tracks, I must say The Poet & the Pendulum track by Nightwish is something I'd say will mean so much more knowing the story behind the bands history etc, its crazy crazy powerful. | Much love, peace & respect | God bless & stay safe
Nightwish Army, Texas Regiment checking in ..... In the wee hours of the morning!!! As a hard rock, heavy metal enthusiast from when I was 8 years old back in 1965...I can honestly tell you that Nightwish's music is addicting! I discovered them by accident... as I saw another UA-cam reactor was posting video after video of Nightwish....raving over their music! That was a year and a half ago, and now, well, I listen to their music 90% of the time! I can honestly say that Nightwish is my favorite band !!! I listen to them when I am in my SUV, when I am painting...I am an artist...and I go to sleep listening to them! I can tell you that you will have an amazing journey listening to Nightwish! Follow Gabriel's recommendations.... and you will understand why so many people have fallen in love with Nightwish! You also got a new subscriber!
THIS band is the best band currently still touring (with some stopping due to COVID). This band has NO bad music especially with Floor Jansen (pronounced Yansen) singing (from 2012 to present). That organ thing is a false front for the founder of the band and songwriter so he can keep his bottle of Nightwish wine handy. He plays three synthesizers set up differently. The bull's head fire thingy belongs to the venue (Wacken Open Air). The area is the beef raising area of Germany. BTW, they do have a backing track with music also composed by the keyboard player, Tuomas Halopainen. It's usually played by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir.
Great reaction! 👍🤘 Greetings from the UK! Info dump for you below!😁 Nightwish is a glorious rabbit hole of awesome, with world class song-writing, musicianship and arguably (or unarguably to most who've heard her enough😉) the best female vocalist alive today (maybe ever), the Valkyrie Queen of metal herself Floor Jansen (pronounced Yansen). Floor is a classically trained soprano and has a vocal range of more than 3 octaves (D3 to F6+). Floor is the third female vocalist that Nightwish have had (and my personal favourite), she was only with them on tour for 10 months at this point and officially joined the band in 2013, she is still with them today. The other vocalists are - Tarja Turunen - (1996-2005) - (Finland) - Very operatic focused vocals. Anette Olzon - (2007-2012) - (Sweden) - More pop-centric vocals. Floor Jansen - (2012-Present) - (Netherlands) - Extremely diverse vocals, from deep growls to full on opera. The other band members are/were - Tuomas Holopainen - Song writer/composer and Keyboards. (Finland) Marko Hietala - Bassist and vocals. (Finland) Emppu Vuorinen - Guitarist (Finland) Jukka Nevalainen - Drums (Finland) Retired in 2014 due to health issues Troy Donockley - Multi-instrumentalist and Vocals. (United Kingdom) Kai Hahto - Drums (Finland) - 2014 to Present Floor herself is Dutch and is another glorious goldmine of awesome as she has a lot of non-Nightwish related stuff (including 2 other bands, After Forever & ReVamp) that she has done that is all pretty amazing as well. She is also an absolutely lovely, funny, smart and grounded person (in fact all the band members are exceedingly down to earth individuals). She has her own channel here on UA-cam where she regularly posts covers of songs. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter/composer and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen. The name of the genre they generally belong to is Symphonic Metal but their discography is extremely varied. The "Symphonic" backing tracks of their music is composed in the majority by Tuomas and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. This was the 13th song in this particular set, Floor is belting notes like that the entire set. Nighwish are almost always better experienced with live versions of their songs if at all possible. Most new reactors are better off sticking with the Wacken 2013 set to begin with as it offers a taste of a lot of what Nightwish has to offer, they have multiple concerts though all of which are superb. Some suggestions for more songs for you to continue your journey would be Storytime, Romanticide, Ghost River, I Wish I had an Angel, Song of Myself, Ever Dream, Dark Chest of Wonders, I Want My Tears Back and Amaranth all from Wacken 2013 (pronounced Vacken). Saying that, anything from Wacken 2013 is golden really to start, there's a reason why that set is pretty legendary at this point, 82,000 people were in attendance. Beware of some messed up slowed down versions of the Wacken 2013 songs as they can take the energy right out of the performances, just check the comments on them and I'm sure someone will mention if it's a slowed down version. Your choice obviously but I'd avoid Poet and the Pendulum and The Greatest Show on Earth for now until you are more familiar with the band and it's history, they will make a lot more sense and be more enjoyable for you that way. Prepare for the Nighwish army to arrive and enjoy your Nightwish journey, I know I did!😎🤘
oh my thank you sooooo much for such an awesome and in depth comment! its fans like you that make bands like these so aweosme (well besides their amazing music lol) thank you again for the info. You rock! Much Love!
I’m here to enjoy watching someone discover NightWish and Floor for the first time. This song is just a tiny representation of what NightWish can do. They have many heavier songs, and softer songs as well. Many of their songs are so different from the previous one. They have amazing talent.
Strong nod of approval on your comments on the mighty sticks of Jukka Nevalainen :). Not all can see through being enchanted by our Valkyrie Goddess Floor and note the thundering heart that all the glory rises from, so thumbs up :D. I'm a guitar player, not a drummer, and even I can tell that Jukka has something special - drums are always the rhythm that all depends on in music but with him 'driving' the beat is a physical presence that has a life of its own :bows:. EDIT: Oh and basically this recording of their performance at Wacken is probably the greatest live concert - you can watch the whole thing and not find a dud anywhere. And I say that as an old school Rocker who is used to bands delivering live - Zeppelin, Purple, Sabbath, Rush, Mac, Magnum, Skynyrd, Maiden, Lizzy, UFO, Mountain ... over the decades I've seen the greats lay it down and this gig ... wow.
Hell yeah, Thank you for such an awesome comment. I always say Real recognize Real, There cant be enough said about FLOOR, in the few songs we have got to experience thus far, we have already figured that out lol but we are actual FANS OF MUSIC lol not just the songs but the artistry and passion and everything that is involved in creating such amazing works of art out of actual thin air - I even LOVE the behind the scenes aspect of music, I put out 3 EPs, and 1Lp and loads of singles (Hip Hop) back in my hay day, Always wanted to do Rock Music or a mixture of some sorts but the struggles of 1 finding actual devoted talent where I grew up we next to impossible and 2 if you were able to get a group of musicians together to have a band it was even more impossible (if thats even possible lol) to keep them together during the grind. I started trying to learn the guitar, as my real dad who i didn't know played, and my older brother does as well and is an actual genius on the dam thing in my eyes but I got as far as being able to play a few of my fav songs (sorta) and that is about it...Still need a tuner to even tune one, lol so i switched to drums as that was my true love all along and although I was able to learn and can play somewhat When I was playing I lived in town and our neighbors hated me so I ended up having to sell them and never bought another set (although I plan to soon now that we own our own house lol) and after that I got into producing hip hop and have always been involved with music in some way my whole life. So its nice to see comments like this. We understand that EVERYONE on that stage is really doing some amazing stuff lol not just the front man/woman - I am sad to hear that Jukka has left the band as well as Marko as those two were rapidly becoming my FAVs for sure lol but I think this music is bigger than just one or two people OBVIOUSLY or they wouldn't still be as amazing as what everyone says after sifting through members. I have seen my fair share of bad ass shows, like the Black tour by Metallica, Rage against the Machine before Zack left, White zombie - Dragula era, the chilli peppers twice, sabbath 3 times, slayer, social distortion, fear factory, I could go on and on and yes some of those were friggin amazing but the energy i can actually FEEL just watching this show makes me dam near weep knowing i didn't get to experience it in person lol - anyway thanks so much for an awesome comment, meeting people and hearing stuff like this makes doing this channel worth it. - Much Love!
The drummer Jukka was playing to a backing track the entire song....which makes his playing in this song even more impressive because as you well know if he has so much as one slip the entire song is thrown out of time
Hello, welcome to Nightwish Army, you opened the door, and here we come. Waken pronounced Vaken is in Germany. Floor Jansen, pronounced Yansen is our Valkery goddess. Those goose bumps are Floorgasems.
Hi Brittany, hi Chad, welcome to Nightwish and symphonic metal. The band is from Finland founded in 1996 by keyboard player Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emmpu Viorinen, and original singer, Tarja Turunen (fired in 2005). This performance in 2013 also features drummer Jukka Nevalainen, and bassist/vocalist Marko Hietala who are also no longer with the band. The drummer had health problems tied to insomnia in 2014 and had his good friend Kai Hahto record the drum tracks for the album "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" which was released in 2015 at which time he announced he would no longer be the drummer for Nightwish, but would continue to work with them behind the scenes. Marko left the band in January this year because of some displeasure with the record industry. He also admitted to being a chronic depressant and felt it would be better for everyone if he just stepped aside. Jukka Koskinen is currently the fill-in bass player for the band for the Human :II: Nature Tour that started in late May. Troy Donockley is a British multi Instrumentalist that had been playing as a guest musician on tour with the band and has been featured in some of their studio albums since 2009. He, along with singer Floor Jansen (Netherlands) became permanent members in June 2013. Floor replaced singer Anette Olzon in 2012 after Anette was fired on September 29th. Floor was recovering from burnout at the time but agreed to help fill in on vocals with only 48 hours to learn the set list for her debut on October 1st in Seattle, Washington. You are going to love your journey. The rabbit hole goes deep, so buckle up and enjoy the ride. I think it's time for a little story..... It's definitely "Storytime" ua-cam.com/video/pvkYwOJZONU/v-deo.html Thank you so much for the video, reaction and comments. Stay safe and stay blessed. 😊♥️🤘🤘
Nightwish army UK (Grey Rangers) division here, lol. I'm a 60 year old bloke from middle England 🏴, Nightwish was a covid find for me, and I'm well and truly a solid fan... Love their old stuff, their new stuff and the Dutch siren Floor Jansen's solo stuff and her music on "Beste Zangers" show... (phantom of the opera) for definite.... Welcome to the army guys, we're a terrible fighting force, but damn.... We're friendly. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
82k people can't be wrong 😂. Welcome to Nightwish and the goddess of Metal Music Floor Jansen. The deepest rabbit hole you can imagine. You have never heard of them because the US music industry doesn't support bands if they are not from the US or UK. So NW is from Finland. 😂 The genre is Symphonic Metal and NW is the most successful and famous band of it. If you want to get an idea of this Magic World please react to EPICA, the 2nd unbelievable Symphonic Metal Band next to Nightwish. Check out "Unleashed" official live. And another journey is going to begin.
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer.
So be prepared. lol "
Hoping you'll continue this journey with us, I'll drop here a list of songs (with links) with the current lineup of the band you may like (please consider this list of links only as "a tip of the iceberg", an indication that they have a vast and very diverse repertoire, and not as something mandatory):

The links presented above are with the current singer of the band, Floor Jansen, since I'm a fan of the recent era of the band, with Floor as the singer.
That being said, I will add here the message left the other days by some old fans of the band,
@Fabrizio Gorla: " To be fair to the old fanbase, you may want to include also some of these songs.

Gabriel we have already heard so much about you lol We are happy to finally meet you (informally) - we would first like to say thank you for such an awesome welcome, it’s not everyday that you get such an amazing welcome when doing what we do.
@@TheNEWReel Hello, again :) I woke up this morning with the notification of your reaction, already about 4 hours old (yes, there is a significant difference of 7-10 hours between Romania and the US) so today you two were part of my morning routine :)
Thank you for opening up to other genres of music, and I understand you perfectly in this regard, because I'm not a metalhead either.
"Female" is certainly something you can accuse her of being.
Best vocalist in the planet is DIMASH, galaxies away from any other. And check Monica Naranjo, songs Europa, and Doble Corazón. She could be easily Nightwish lead singer.
Most bands have a songwriter, but Nightwish has a COMPOSER. Plus they have the BEST female singer ever, FLOOR JANSEN.
🤘i concur💯
All what Chris D said is true, want some harder style Nightwish?, either Romanticide or Yours an empty hope (last one has Floor growling in the song)
But either way, read the comment from Gabriel Bardac on Nightwish.
@@TheNEWReel floor is not human
The most rewarding rabbit hole in music. I tell you what, Nightwish are a never-ending source of goosebumps and emotion. Its such a magical experience discovering them :)

80,000 people went home very happy after seeing the iconic Nightwish show at Wacken 2013!!
Don't sweat it Reel couple!
99% of all Americans don't know anything about European music.

Welcome to the Nightwish Army!!! YOU ARE NOT READY FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!
Soooooooo...if you haven't figured out by now, you've been *invaded* by the Nightwish Army! By far the friendliest army you'll ever run into. Gabriel our "herald" and general has been here already. That just leaves me to say "welcome!" and can't wait to see what you think of this journey!
There is Nightwish, then everyone else. There is Floor, then everyone else. Combined, there is nobody else.
how true
Wacken 2013 starring Nightwish and co-starring the 80,000 is..wow!!
The energy this band always creates with their crowd connection is incredible!! Sensory overload….NW style!!
She commands an entire army in the world, ARISE NIGHTWISH ARMY, Great reaction sir mam
The entire band are masters of their art.
Oh nice! I didn't expect you to do Nightwish. This is 100% top tier music for sure.

Nightwish is a definitive LIVE band founded in Kitee, Finland in 1996. They're considered symphonic metal but they don't fit into just any one category. They're basically their own genre. They're never better than on stage. So they're BEST shows (to literally pick anything from) are...
Wacken 2013
Wembley
Buenos Aires
Tampere
Nightwish was founded in Finland but they're current lineup are all finnish except the current singer, Floor Jansen (Netherlands, but lives in Sweden) and Troy Donockley (Wales).

☆ _RESEARCH_ ☆
I get the genuine reactions but when it comes to Nightwish, 2 songs absolutely have to be researched and with lyrics in order to understand it or you're completely depriving yourself of the full experience and the feeling of the songs.
Its angry af and their hardest track.)

NIGHTWISH ARMY IN DA HOUSEEEEEEEEE
Here's your challenge: Find a Nightwish song you won't love. It can't be done. They're truly a one of a kind band that attracts all kinds of music fans.
Floor Jansen may legitimately be the best female singer alive right now as well. I suggest you look up some of her solo performances, both on her personal UA-cam and from the show "Beste Zangers". I suggest starting with her cover of "Shallow".
Heh heh anything with Annette I don't love and a lot with Tarja I don't love, From Tarja I like most though. But then again I'm not into metal. Floor rules
@@Meine.Postma I was a fan of both Tarja and Annette, but I definitely prefer Floor's versions of every one of their songs.
Tarja, Jukka, Marko - miss you all!
Yes, her rendition of "Shallow" was magical and otherworldly!!! I watch it at least once a week, and it never gets old!
Band is from Finland. Wacken is in Germany. Awesome band. This whole show is golden. Floor Jansen is a vocal Olympian! She commands the audience like no other.
You finally discovered Nightwish and Floor…good luck with that😂
welcome to Nightwish, Thanks from Colombia
Welcome to the adventure that is NIGHTWISH. Every song you listen to will amaze you even more. I see the Army is already here. Maine, USA Division, reporting in. Buckle up!

That song was the 13th song of a 15 song set . So the stamina is amazing as is the talent , the drummer fucking amazing energy just WOW
What a great reaction, guys! 👏👏
Really authentic, that’s what you wanted and you did it. I trust you didn’t know what was on its way and I enjoyed watching you get the whole experience. So, thumbs up for you, I guess there will be a lot of recomendations to Nightwish and other “top-10 songs you have to react to”…..I hope to see your next video, thank’s for doing this,
Greetings from Chile 👋😊🙌…..stay safe!
thank you for such an awesome welcome we are actually going to be doing a LIVE REACTION to some NIGHTWISH songs this WEDNESDAY so hope to see you there!!
Much Love

A milestone in the history of music
Great that you found the best band there is on this globe and Metal Mozart on keys. He has made an album of Disney Scrooge as well. They just are about to release their 10th album and started in 1996. It is a Finnish symphonic metal band and leader of the genre.
Laughs, this video really should add a disclaimer that reviewing or reacting to ot will summon the Nightwish Army.

Symphonic Metal. Va-kin. 82,000 people there. Largest metal festival in europe. Band started in 98. Third lead singer. Hope you enjoy your floorgasm.
One of new hobbies from 2022 is discovering people experiencing Nightwish for the first time :) I finally saw them live in december of '22, so yeah they're still going! couple of changes with regards to band members, but man they are the f* best live, honestly :D

Thx for make my day better😍🙏
Nightwish is surprising and never sounds the same. As you mentioned, live are the best, superior. Imo they are the mix of cold and diamond☺.
Welcome to the magical world of Nightwish!

Yes guys , very nice reaction... Nightwish Army come!!! More videos please!! Greettings from México 😎🤘🇲🇽
Although you say you don't do research on the tracks, I must say The Poet & the Pendulum track by Nightwish is something I'd say will mean so much more knowing the story behind the bands history etc, its crazy crazy powerful. | Much love, peace & respect | God bless & stay safe
Ive seen posted about Floor in other reactions, and it is true, Other singers sing what they can, Floor sings what she wants
You are from the land of Pantera
I will never get tired of watching music reactors discovering this band and realizing just how awesome this band is.....
Nightwish is my drug because they have a song for every mood or situation
Greetings from the UK! Info dump for you below!😁
Nightwish is a glorious rabbit hole of awesome, with world class song-writing, musicianship and arguably (or unarguably to most who've heard her enough😉) the best female vocalist alive today (maybe ever), the Valkyrie Queen of metal herself Floor Jansen (pronounced Yansen).
The other vocalists are -
Tarja Turunen - (1996-2005) - (Finland) - Very operatic focused vocals.
Anette Olzon - (2007-2012) - (Sweden) - More pop-centric vocals.
Floor Jansen - (2012-Present) - (Netherlands) - Extremely diverse vocals, from deep growls to full on opera.
The other band members are/were -
Tuomas Holopainen - Song writer/composer and Keyboards. (Finland)
Marko Hietala - Bassist and vocals. (Finland)
Emppu Vuorinen - Guitarist (Finland)
Jukka Nevalainen - Drums (Finland) Retired in 2014 due to health issues
Troy Donockley - Multi-instrumentalist and Vocals. (United Kingdom)
Kai Hahto - Drums (Finland) - 2014 to Present
Floor herself is Dutch and is another glorious goldmine of awesome as she has a lot of non-Nightwish related stuff (including 2 other bands, After Forever & ReVamp) that she has done that is all pretty amazing as well.
You rock! Much Love!
@@TheNEWReel You are very welcome!🤘🙂
@@TheNEWReel Thank you in return for such a great reply! In short, I absolutely agree :).
Great reaction 😃🤘 you have lots of fantastic Nightwish songs ahead.
WE CANT WAIT!
Welcome to the world of Symphonic Metal.. The Nightwish Army is on it's way...
Love your reaction. It came from the heart of people who just love good music, in this case GREAT music.
It's definitely "Storytime"

Nightwish army UK (Grey Rangers) division here, lol.
I'm a 60 year old bloke from middle England 🏴, Nightwish was a covid find for me, and I'm well and truly a solid fan... Love their old stuff, their new stuff and the Dutch siren Floor Jansen's solo stuff and her music on "Beste Zangers" show... (phantom of the opera) for definite.... Welcome to the army guys, we're a terrible fighting force, but damn.... We're friendly. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Subscribed for more Nightwish reactions. You're in for an amazing ride!
People listening to rap music do that cause they dont know better, they simply havent heard good music from talented musicians. 😂
Nightwish Army, Pennsylvania division reporting in!! Subbed!
