I was at that show. Overall, Alissa and Elize did an amazing job. The Ogden Theatre in Denver, Colorado was certainly blessed that night with an amazing show, and a crows who, for the most part, knew it's Nightwish lyrics.
You were damn lucky to be at that show man, I would love to have been there as an Elize and Nightwish fan. Ive seen every aspect of that show that I can find online and that's the best I can do, But being there must have been brilliant, so far as it goes.
Floor learned 15 songs - some of them very lengthy and complex - in two days. Bear in mind, she'd emerged from a serious case of burnout. Jukka was dealing with severe insomnia at the time. The entire band had never played together until then. And yet, Nightwish pulled off an amazing coup. Floor is a consummate professional and Nightwish is fortunate to finally have a singer who's versatile and owns every stage she's on.
FYI at her first shows (I was at her third) she actually had a full set of lyrics on stage, not just the setlist. It was funny watching them tape down this big 4 x 3 page sheet at her monitor. Needless to say they didn't toss that one out to the audience after the show, but very carefully removed it and took it away!
To be fair: she knew that she was the favorite for replacing Anette during a later part of the tour because Anette was pregnant. So she most likely was preparing for that. But yes, she surely did not know all the lyrics by heart at that point since it hadn't been long since Anette announced her pregnancy! Great job Floor! And I love her singing!
"burnout" is often and also here a euphemism ... if someone does not make it out of the bed, he is clinically depressed - or she .... it was a risky operation for Nightwish and Floor
I agree, eventhough their new drummer is good too I still miss Jukka! He was one of my favorite members(Eventhough I love all of them), I always loved watching him play. His style and energy is just awesome! Hope he gets well soon
Jukka has a heavier style of playing than Kai which, I think suits the band better. On the other hand, Kai is one of the best metal and jazz drummers around.
Awesome work from both indeed! And even though both are really skilled singers, they are not obviously match for Floor without any training sessions. For example, to get some idea what Alissa can do, see this: ua-cam.com/video/0kJdWJXxF3Y/v-deo.html
that's how I felt I actually felt bad for Anette, Although that being said it proved that all 3 vocalists have brought something unique to the band and that's something we can take from it.
I didn’t think I was the only one who noticed how drastically the vibe changed from “tense, but our fans are counting on us so we’re gonna grit our teeth, put on a happy face, and grind it out” to “we’re having a BLAST and we’re so excited that our fans are sharing it with us”. Even in the “Poet and the Pendulum” performance at Wembley...you can tell that the whole band is more relaxed and enjoying themselves.
@III : They? Sure, there must have been some fans of Floor's earlier bands as well, but none of those were as popular and widely known as Nightwish. Let's say 10% in that audience knew who she was. I admit this is nothing more than a wild guess, but I highly doubt that Floor was that well known, or even popular for what she did previous to Nightwish. Besides, unless things are widely different in Argentina (I've never been there), I'd think that 99% of the attendees already bought their tickets thinking they'd be listening to Anette singing 'her songs' for them. So even if they knew Floor, that would still be a disappointment. I imagine it would be like going to a Led Zeppelin concert (yes, I'm that old), just to find out that Steven Tyler is the new singer. I loooove Steven Tyler and he was/is arguably the better singer, but I'd still be pissed not to see Robert Plant. All I'm saying is it takes a lot more than fame and quality to win over a crowd that's expecting someone else.
@@mariodriessen9740 Well, you thought wrong. I'm not only from Argentina, but I attended that show, and we already knew Anette wasn't gonna be there but Floor. Actually, my brother, for instance, didn't go bc he liked Anette a lot and, yes, didn't knew Floor, like me, like many other people, like you claim. But yeah, I was only referring to those chanting their name, which wasn't all the crowd for sure.
@@147pablox : really? That’s great! I never would have guessed that. You Argentines seem to have a good taste in music AND you’re the best audience for any rock band. How I wish I was there! Your enthusiasm always cheers me up. And sometimes I just start to cry, only because you’re so into it. When I look at that concert you attended, but also the AC/DC show and other bands as well..., that must be a dream come true for every musician. 😃 I’m Dutch. Performing in the Netherlands is a whole different story. When people wiggle their toes, that’s when you know they’re really digging it. And if you’re extremely good and the crowd is actually completely going crazy, you’ll be rewarded with a beer shower. Not every artist can appreciate that. Crazy idea for me ‘talking’ to a ‘random’ guy on the web, in the middle of the night, who’s been at a memorable concert that we can all watch on UA-cam. Glad you could give me some background information, because I hate to be that wise guy who claims things that aren’t true, 😬👍
@@mariodriessen9740 Thanks for saying that! Seeing the artists' faces and their smiles while seeing us do our thing, is totally priceless! Actually, not to make a propaganda of my channel, but I have a few videos showing that. One of Dream Theater, that it's like an unofficial trailer for a bluray they filmed here, and where actually one of the main complaings was that the audience was not hearable, so I honored us. The other is from a Haken show, a prog band too, and an English one, but that didn't stop us from doing what we always do! And no, you didn't seem to be that guy, hahaa, since you specified you weren't from here and that it was only a guess ;)
What Alissa, Elize and Floor did is truly incredible. It takes ton of work and experience to be able to do that, but also a lot of courage. Also a huge "thank you" to the band, who didn't give up, pulled everything together in a very stressful situation, and made an awesome gift to their fans. The professionalism of all of them is second to none. Respect to the band, and long life to Nightwish.
Alissa was actually in the Agonist and Elize was in Amaranthe. They were both touring with their respective bands as well as performing with Kamelot as a side project.
Elize actually auditioned back in the day after Tarja departed and they were looking for new singer. I believe it was decided she was a bit too young and inexperienced (or just too young, don't remember exactly lol) and Olzon won.
Oh damn, 9 minutes in and I'm already in tears. What they did in Denver was so brave. They were all doing their part to make the best of a terrible situation. Nothing but the utmost respect for every single one of them, not in the least the two guest vocalists who had less than an hour to rehearse? Amazing! What a band.
When I first heard Floor's voice she was a frontwoman for After Forever, and I remember buying a cd single when I was 15 with the song 'Who I am' in it and I played it on repeat because I COULDN'T BELIEVE how powerful her voice was. Not long after, Tarja's departure from Nightwish was announced and I was devastated but I remember thinking how great of a fit Floor would be for the band. Annette came along, and after getting 'dark passion play' and going to one of their concerts with Anette, there was something really off with the vibe I got from their chemistry. I think they got scared of getting a female classical soprano because they didn't want ppl to compare the new singer to Tarja and they went the exact opposite way with Anette, something that clearly didn't work because a. ppl would compare the new frontwoman to the old one REGARDLESS b. Annette never really fit Nightwish imo. So I stopped following them for some years. And then, in 2013 (I think), Floor's Ghost Love Score performance went viral and I stumbled upon it and I screamed 'I KNEW IT' to my then bf, who was admittedly confused but happy for me xD. She was always the one
your story sound like mine exept, i did not know about Floor, when Tarja left i and Annette joined i lost interest becous the pop sound did not fit well with me, even Tarja i could only listen so mutch to befor getting tired of it, but now with Floor im not getting tired, she has a bit of everything in her singing that keeps me interested.
I’m new to the Nightwish train, and I now understand why Floor blends so well with the rest of the band. Her character, charisma, stage presence and humbleness made her the missing piece to their puzzle. I’ve fallen hard for this amazing group, and I’m excited to learn more of their history, and to hopefully see them one day perform!
I felt like they were testing her about how she would take the joke. When she immidiately started laughing it looks like Marco thinks she's alright. We can have alot of fun with her.
Ignorant of what was going on behind the scenes at the time, I was kinda living on the fringe of it. At the time of the Salt Lake City show, I was unaware of what took place in Denver two days before. I road tripped to SLC (from where I was stationed in the Puget Sound area of Washington) primarily to see Kamelot, though I was looking forward to seeing Nightwish as I had recently discovered them. After traveling back to Washington I settled back in at home and went to go see the same show two days later in Seattle, unaware of what was taking place within Nightiwish. When they came onstage I had to do a double take as I was thinking "I don't believe that's the same singer." I quickly realized that it wasn't.... Since then I have turned into a big Nightwish fan and am much more familiar with their catalogue and background. Floor has done a magnificent job since her arrival, and I truly respect Annette's contributions, especially on her two albums. I'll always be proud to say that I am one of a VERY few number of people, if not the only one (not including tour personnel), to have seen Annette's last show with Nightwish and Floor's first show with the band two days later and hundreds of miles away. I wonder if anyone else fits in that category....
There's a separate documentation of what they've called the "Denver Debacle". Not a real Debacle at all, instead with plenty of good vibes from the crowd as the two Kamelot ladies with sheets of printed lyrics on stage were singing most of Anette's part. The fans loved them nonetheless: ua-cam.com/video/zH33rNy33iU/v-deo.html
I remember i once wasted a couple of days just to learn the lyrics of Behemoth's "Decade of Therion". Floor learned 15 songs in 2 days. Her memory block is trained well.
Floor took a ridiculously great band to the highest level by completing the puzzle ... she was the missing piece. Only their creativity can take them higher now, and they have plenty of that. The musicianship is as good as it gets. Marco's departure leaves a massive hole, but I keep hoping he returns, because now they're a family and no one is left behind.
@@jovetj By his choice, and by his statement, a necessity. I've heard rumors that he is contemplating a return. I hope so, but I truly want what is best for him. He is such a good person.
Marko was an ass that got Tarja fired because he was always in her shadow. I think he quit because he realized he wouldn't be able to fire Floor. Marko is a loser and back stabber.
Floor is nothing less than a Viking goddess ! Striking beauty, three octave plus angelic voice, but yet so humble. She is just the best ! She has found her home in NW.
One could tell, by the way she took that deeeeeep breath, she was almost spitting her heart out. Who could blame her, anyone else in her place would be shitting their pants. But it was Floor. She was made for this!
LOL. I just watched this and yur right. Like 70% of this video is hearing jus Marco. I started wondering if they toured at some point with out Floor. Its jus the way they produced this. Very guid documentary. I didn't mind reading the subs either. Great band.
To be able to pull off a documentary when the lead singer is fired and the refuses to allow her voice or image (see first couple of seconds of the doc) to be used shows the incredible editing, and underlines just how tightly knit a group Floor walked into. Marco is brilliant and he and Floor balance really well.
Still one of my favourite bands, musically great and always a great show. I remember Floor from her great performances in After Forever. A very versatile and well rounded singer and friendly too. I do however find Marco 'up himself' a bit and rather uncaring about others unless it happens to him. The fact they just blanked Anette from everything is as nasty as their attitude in the end to Tarja. But that is the fickle entertainment business for you.
Floor is the best thing that has happened to Nightwish. Now they are complete. I hope Jukka recovers from insomnia cause he belongs behind those drums.
Insomnia is usually not something one recovers from. It can go away, but will often come back in periods of stress. So unfortunately, I doubt he will be playing again, except for the occasional guest performance...
@@legacymaiden4209 There are a lot of singers like Tarja. Nightwish put HER on the map. She was just lucky to know the founder/composer. There is a reason why she had to sing Nightwish songs for many years after leaving Nightwish. She is insignificant on her own. She is a very competent vocalist, don't get me wrong.
I believe I read very recently that Jukka has been permanently replaced on the drums, but he still works behind the scenes for Nightwish. He said that he is happy in this role.
Being a musician myself, having to deal with such things within a fully set ensemble of other musuicians is the worst of anything which could happen to you when a performance is on demand. To get an instant replacement is the luckiest of incidents. respect for the loyal fans and respect for Nightwish to pull it off even with expected incosistencies within the performances. These kind of connections are which build musical communities, from fans to musicians, who know each other, respect each other and literally can play in any genre. Pure passion and committment. Loving it.

Under normal circumstances most people would’ve called that Denver show a disaster but considering those two women learned the songs they sang in less than an hour, that is extremely impressive. Highest respect to them.
1:36:54 is when you realize that Floor was fully accepted and a member of the band, not just a tour finishing singer. The band had stated over and over and over that Wishmaster would never be sung again in live concert. And then, they found a vocalist that meshed so perfectly that they decided to bring it out of retirement. THAT is a statement if anything. :P
You can tell the audience wasn't really feeling it either lol. Probably why that seems to be the one and only time they've brought it back in a live performance.
I can't remember them saying they'd never play wishmaster again especially after how many times they played it with Anette in the DPP tour, I'm pretty sure it was Stargazers and Passion of the Opera they said they'd never play again when they had anette and they DID bring back stargazers with floor but not Passion of the Opera (yet I love that song hopefully they do)
I loved it but I wanted them to show them asking her to stay in the band and how she reacted. I know she did but am I the only one waiting for that at the end?
It was done in private, Floor said that both her and Troy were asked to be part of the band at the same time. She said they cried: ua-cam.com/video/fqXt2-Cm1QM/v-deo.html

Fantastic documentary, made me cry more than once. :D Nightwish have worked hard and they really deserve this. The fans acceptance of Floor hit me straight in the heart. She is hands down the best female vocalist in metal. Good luck NW, can't wait to see your plans for 2019!
A touching and considerate gesture 1:45:29 from Tuomas as he gives a hardcore fan who's in a wheelchair a setlist. I'm sure that guy always remember that moment.👍👍👍👍
I just realized something: Not only did Elize and Alyssa sing for NW in Denver, but they even came out during the final song (which concert, not sure) but they ALL sang "Last Ride of the Day". You basically see Floor surprised, laughing, and then going on, knowing Kamelot was also there to support her. But I'll say this: That concert must have been a true trifecta of sexy hot goddesses of metal -- it's a miracle the stage didn't melt out from underneath them!
Holy crap, i'm 50 minutes into the video and kept on asking myself why there aren't any scenes with anette. Then i realized that the former singer who didnt want to be in the video was anette and not tarja..
I don't think Tarja would have totally declined not being shown, just to have nothing with the drama about the departure. Still pretty weak and sad thing from Anette to not allow her to be shown at any point :(
See the breakup had made everyone very sour, I actually know the band and Annette leaving is what saves the band and sparked a resurgence within them. Juke I'm not sure why but, you know..lol
Floor, I Just want to wish you and the rest of Nightwish, Happy Anniversary. Tonight it will be seven years since your first performance as Nightwish's lead female singer. I remember it very clearly, as I was there in Seattle on 01 Oct. 2012. At The Showbox Sodo, 3/4 way back! Wishing you many more years of making and performing great music with your Nightwish Brothers!!!
Floor is a very good choice for the band. I like ALL 3 of them, to be honest. Tarja´s voice fits perfectly for the opera-like songs, Anette had some kind of modern pop-like voice (that´s why I only like her singing on an album), Floor has both of them. So there are 3 eras for the band and each one of them had its own highlights and styles.
The real message of this film is that Nightwish rose from the ashes because they found a singer from Holland who has Finnish sisu to match her amazing voice
Sadly, I must admit I was living under a rock the past several years because I had no idea Annette had been replaced by Floor. 🤣🤦♀️ Love Floor though. It made me so happy to see the band come alive again. I've been listening to them since 2005 an damn I love them even more now.
What a perfect band and a perfect decision to add Floor. I love this band and I wish i had known about them in the past but just discovered them last year. Its been a wonderful journey learning all about Nightwish and i feel so much closer to them after watching this. I will always remember the times i listened to nightwish as some of the best moments of my life!!🙌🏼🙌🏼💙
Got chills when they started talking about the "secret show" as Rubber Bank of Wolves. Was lucky enough to be there in Hollywood that night...even caught a glimpse of myself in the audience! it was a magical night.
I have to say too... it's been clear since Tarja that Toumas has a huge heart and passion for people, not just Nightwish. On one side I empathize with his emotional state.. we've probably all been there for one reason or another. But damn is he amazing at pouring out his emotions through poems played against metal. I hope he lives longer than me so I never know a world without his spirit.
That is an amazing demonstration of dedication to your fans. I loved Nightwish until I saw this but now they have gone up even more so in my estimation. Much love to you guys...you are incredible human beings!
And thanks for putting this together. Such history here... pains from Tarja, challenges with Annette, and out of the ashes rise the Phoenix known around the world as 'Floor Jansen' who brought it all together and healed not only Nightwish but us fans conflicted with our pains of watching Nightwish emotionally struggle. Thanks to Tarja, Annette, Nightwish and Floor. Thanks for seeing it through all the obstacles. \m/ salutes you all!
Floor is the most amazing vocalist I have heard in many, many years... She is legitimately a Goddess, her vocals actually give me goosebumps at certain moments, sincerely! I know that I am a bit biased on this subject with the fondness I admittedly have for her vocals, & yet I would still earnestly maintain that this, this right here... THIS incarnation of Nightwish, with Floor as their lead vocalist; Well hell, it is simply by far the best that they have ever been. It is quite clear that they were extremely fortunate to have found her and then to have chosen to completely incorporate her style into their performances... For there was undoubtedly no one better out there to become the new voice of Nightwish, and their rocketing popularity owes so damn much to Floor's uniquely special vocal abilities; for with her having the vocal ability of an actual diety, combined with the entire band's undeniable passion and obvious talent... Well, it has become pretty clear that they are now a group that has unquestionably become fully capable of putting on a performance that is, at the very least, on par with anything a Metallica, a Black Sabbath, or an Iron Maiden had ever put on... Quite simply, it's just an undeniable fact that they have truly elevated their entire game, and in doing so have risen to crazily impressive new heights. It is fully apparent that these guys are just legitimately that damned awesome now!
Its a long term strategy. And nothing is by accident. You probably know or you been aware of fact that they are friends from 2002 and she was their first pick always. But simple timing was bad in 2005, since she was in AF. Next dont forget huge influence of Nuclear blast records, and their influence on band management. It was them that they pushed NW filming Wacken. But all other things you said is utterly true. She pushed them skyrocketing. Thats a fact.
Wow. I just came to know about this. And now I have a whole new level of respect and admiration for the Nightwish members at that time of crisis, the fans who were so mature and supportive, and for the members of Kamelot who helped without any conditions!
As has been said: The harder the fight, the sweeter the victory. And no prize greater, no victory sweeter, than gaining Floor Jansen as the vocalist, when she came on board like a true Valkyrie and gave the band the strength to make it. No greater respect can be given.
@@TremereTT Its just a joke (a newspaper or magazine caricature). The picture showed a "storage area" where they carted women into (the "former Nightwish vocalists") :)

+luis angel trives rapado You are right! I would like very much to see that show entirely, even if it is not HD. I would buy it , if it would be from the first second to the last second.
A full video of behind the scenes that night and a majority of the concert and after is here on UA-cam, It isn't HD as the whole thing including behind the scenes before and after is put together from multiple recordings but it is great to see as best you can.
@@IzayoiMeiHigu They were touring members at the time and were featured in a few studio recordings. But you are right, they were not full members of Kamelot. Elize is in Amaranthe and Alissa is in Arch Enemy (though she wasnt at the time).
Regarding the start, when Anette could not perform and they had to resort to other solutions to pull off this tour I have to say this: for me it would be a privilage to be in one of those shows and support the guys when they needed it the most. It would make me happier than any other concert with a lead singer present, to show them support at a difficult hour.
For all you Finnish & English Fans of NightWish, *the Dutch Christian name "Floor" means:* The name is short for 'Florentinus' / 'Florentina', 'Flora'. 'Florentius' comes from the Latin 'Florens' or 'Florere' which means "blooming, charming, distinguished". Variants of the name for girls include: "Floortje" (meaning in Dutch: 'small Flower'), Fleur (meaning in Dutch: Flower that blossoms), and also: Florina, Florence, Florentine, Florianne. So, you can say in a way: *"Floor" is another word for: "Flower"* Source, in Dutch, so I translated it for you: nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floor_(voornaam)

@@TerranigmaQuintet I wouldn't say it was outside factors. From what I've been able to gather, it's simply that Jukka knows himself (as we all do) better than anyone, and rather than risk permanent damage to his health, he chose to get well. Honestly, I compare it to a race car driver who has a bad wreck, and they realize that their body can't handle the physical stress any longer. So to do the right thing, they find their own replacement. What Jukka did for Nightwish was both responsible, and noble -- because he didn't leave them hanging. Personally, I'm saddened, because I miss his timing and sound. While Kai is very good, technically, there are things that Kai doesn't do that Jukka did -- nice musical flourishes that aren't in the music, such as the tapping of cymbals or the hi-hat to denote tempo. Jukka also never went ham on the drums because he could -- he had enough sense to know what was appropriate. Watch Ghost Love Score from Wacken 2013 (Jukka), then GLS from Bloodstock 2018 (Kai). It might be just me, but the quality of the sound is not the same, from a percussive perspective.
And then you come across a video of Tarja and Floor together on stage (lots of fake ones out there, but one is real - faking them hugging is hard. ;-))

Imagine having the talent to do a show being told 1 hour before the start and saying 'Erm, I know one or two songs by heart, the others I'd need the lyrics to read while singing, but yeah I can do it' and then do it and the crowd going crazy loving it. Imagine that.
I'm so happy with how it turned out (Floor joining the band), but this is the second time I'm watching this, and I still can't do it without tears. Toumas' is clearly a very emotional person, and his expression makes my heart ache for him. I'm sure the others felt the same way, but he's incapable of hiding it. He also looks miserable in old interviews, with smiles being rare and fleeting. Newer interviews has him smiling a lot, and it's so nice to see.

Much professional respect to Alissa and Elize for what they did that day
Yeah
They were just amazing. They saved the show.
Yeah, and I am not a fan of Elize to be honest.
Awesome work from both indeed! And even though both are really skilled singers, they are not obviously match for Floor without any training sessions. For example, to get some idea what Alissa can do, see this: ua-cam.com/video/0kJdWJXxF3Y/v-deo.html
I really liked Anette, but Floor seemed to heal a wound in NW that Anette couldn't heal after Tarja left. Floor is a true Vakyrie.
I wish i could love this comment!!
You summed it up so nicely.
that's how I felt I actually felt bad for Anette, Although that being said it proved that all 3 vocalists have brought something unique to the band and that's something we can take from it.
Only a Valkyrie can does the job of a Wich
I didn’t think I was the only one who noticed how drastically the vibe changed from “tense, but our fans are counting on us so we’re gonna grit our teeth, put on a happy face, and grind it out” to “we’re having a BLAST and we’re so excited that our fans are sharing it with us”. Even in the “Poet and the Pendulum” performance at Wembley...you can tell that the whole band is more relaxed and enjoying themselves.
She’s been with the band for 2 months and the crowd is chanting her name. Enough said.
To be fair, that's because they already knew her from her previous bands. But yeah, she owned every show right from the start.
I’m Dutch.
OMG. Elize and Alissa did such a good job. And the audience was so kind and full of energy ! Nightwish lives in our hearts. ♥
Legend has it that if you die at a metal show, Floor Jansen shows up to guide you into the afterlife.
shevanel92 I hope I will die in a Nightwish show 😜
If she does not personally take me to the afterlife, I am gonna be so pissed when I arrive at Valhalla. :D
this is the best thing ever aaahahahhaahahahaa
Please let that be true. It better be her or Sharon.
Best comment EVER!!!!
Respect also for those Kamelot girls..
They didnt even know the lyrics😱 they did well
Funny thing is, Elize is now in Amaranthe and Alissa is in Arch Enemy.
I think they got scared of getting a female classical soprano because they didn't want ppl to compare the new singer to Tarja and they went the exact opposite way with Anette, something that clearly didn't work because
a. ppl would compare the new frontwoman to the old one REGARDLESS
Such a nice story!
Any predictions on Jukka returning? Ε Νικη?
your story sound like mine exept, i did not know about Floor, when Tarja left i and Annette joined i lost interest becous the pop sound did not fit well with me, even Tarja i could only listen so mutch to befor getting tired of it, but now with Floor im not getting tired, she has a bit of everything in her singing that keeps me interested.
Yes. Floor was what they needed.
And i thought i was alone!I Stopped after wishmaster but i enjoy a lot Floor's voice, discovered some days ago.
Welcome to the Nightwish Army! Enjoy your journey 😊
Welcome!
You and me both.
1:19:40 "Caution. Wet Floor." *Slaps knee* I love how she goes along with it too
I felt like they were testing her about how she would take the joke. When she immidiately started laughing it looks like Marco thinks she's alright. We can have alot of fun with her.

@@ronaldboers8061 I think that's their manager (Ewo Pohjola), not Marco. Very funny moment!
Cool 👍 not many can say the same thing.

As soon as Floor sang the opening lyrics you knew she was made for Nightwish. What a top band, what a vocalist.Thankyou Nightwish.
She feels like home in Nightwish. Best thing in music world
I was there at that Denver show ... Something to remember for sure! The energy at these shows is always unbelievable, but that was something special.
THE BEST PART WAS AT THE END THE CROWD STARTED WITH " FLOOR , FLOOR,FLOOR.FLOOR.FLOOR" THE GREATEST SINGER OF ALL TIME
i had adoration for Floor before but learning 15 songs in two days? utter respect .
It's impressive indeed! (Noting that she probable knew most of them already, she didn't come from nowhere)
She’s a real classical trained singer, that helps
The definition of professional.
I remember i once wasted a couple of days just to learn the lyrics of Behemoth's "Decade of Therion". Floor learned 15 songs in 2 days. Her memory block is trained well.
@@aleksanterikaansalo 10 months of muscle memory created the most memorable LIVE concert video I have ever seen/heard. Perfection.
Marko is left behind. :( Miss him too. I hope the best for him.
@@jovetj By his choice, and by his statement, a necessity. I've heard rumors that he is contemplating a return. I hope so, but I truly want what is best for him. He is such a good person.
@@chadbennett7873 Yeah, I know. Still miss him, though. He's a hell of a performer, and just the right amount of "crazy" and "real."
Marko was an ass that got Tarja fired because he was always in her shadow. I think he quit because he realized he wouldn't be able to fire Floor. Marko is a loser and back stabber.
Floor's very first performance with Nightwish, after having learned 15 songs in 48 hours. Nothing short of stupendous. How can anyone not be in awe.
It’s interesting this, because for most of the doco it’s like an alternate universe where Marco is the only singer in the band haha
Adam H dude I was almost convinced that was so lol
@@briancobbold5021 Anette told them she didn't want to be in the documentary at all, no image and no voice
Floor is the best thing that has happened to Nightwish. Now they are complete. I hope Jukka recovers from insomnia cause he belongs behind those drums.
Yes, so that Kai can return to Wintersun.
Insomnia is usually not something one recovers from. It can go away, but will often come back in periods of stress.
So unfortunately, I doubt he will be playing again, except for the occasional guest performance...
Tarja Turunen is what put them on the map!

I actually envy all those who were there to witness that show. Like Alissa said: that was something that will never ever happen again.
I'd say the concerns were warranted, she didn't do right by that song.
You can tell the audience wasn't really feeling it either lol. Probably why that seems to be the one and only time they've brought it back in a live performance.
I really got to admit, Wishmaster didnt sound that great. but it was a nice try.
amazed by these comments under yours.. I thought Wishmaster sounded amazing with Floor.

First time I saw this documentary just now..., and I got choked up there. Very sweet of him.
That was on the last show of the US tour.
Kamelot was the support act
Holy crap, i'm 50 minutes into the video and kept on asking myself why there aren't any scenes with anette. Then i realized that the former singer who didnt want to be in the video was anette and not tarja..
I don't think Tarja would have totally declined not being shown, just to have nothing with the drama about the departure. Still pretty weak and sad thing from Anette to not allow her to be shown at any point :(

If I ever doubted that the Nightwish fans love Floor - here is PROOF! 😍
She basically fixed the band!
I maybe incorrect, but my belief is that Floor was the missing cog in the Nightwish machine.
...and Nightwish was exactly what Floor needed to lift her from the darkness and into the starlight that she deserved.
Exatly right! They work together like it should. Best decision ever made.
Except for the nine years that Tarja took them from obscurity to the top.
Sometimes things just go right way. Call it destiny or fate. Floor is the best vocalist they could ever find.
You are not incorrect. She's perfect for the band.
I was in one of their concerts two weeks ago and Floor nailed it!!! She is an amazing singer =)
I was at that show in Denver. My first concert ever. It was Amazing.
The real message of this film is that Nightwish rose from the ashes because they found a singer from Holland who has Finnish sisu to match her amazing voice
I forgot me pipes o_O. xD i lost it there....bless you Troy :))
Sadly, I must admit I was living under a rock the past several years because I had no idea Annette had been replaced by Floor. 🤣🤦♀️ Love Floor though. It made me so happy to see the band come alive again. I've been listening to them since 2005 an damn I love them even more now.

So you didn't know that the band was actually Nightwish before the show??
Yes - I know it was going to be them under the alias
The live version of Ghost Love Score at Wacken with Floor is a classic. He is an excellent composer.
Absolutely excellent.
Ghost Love Score: Floors has probably made that song hers and also the best ever
Why did it take me so long to discover this band?!?! Might have to travel out of state to witness this glory...
That is an amazing demonstration of dedication to your fans. I loved Nightwish until I saw this but now they have gone up even more so in my estimation. Much love to you guys...you are incredible human beings!
Floor saved the day for this band, as far as I can tell.
Quite straigh hint from Marco to Floor before Last Ride of The Day... "We are talking about last gig, but you might continue from here..."
And I think she totally missed it... :-)
Mr. Tuomas Holopainen is inspiring in every aspect a human being can possibly be. He is my friend, idol and hero!
6:30 You can see how emotional Tuomas is and how much this means to him, god I LOVE this man! I hope I can see them live some day

1:24:10 i hope they gave her free backstage tickets, she deserves it. dedication should be rewarded, and she clearly is dedicated to nightwish :)
With the Ghost Love Score, Floor proved she is the best fit for Nightwish
I was at the Warfield concert and had a blast. Floor was sparking new, but killed it on stage. Above all, the music was sublime.
For all you Finnish & English Fans of NightWish, *the Dutch Christian name "Floor" means:*
The name is short for 'Florentinus' / 'Florentina', 'Flora'.
'Florentius' comes from the Latin 'Florens' or 'Florere' which means "blooming, charming, distinguished".
Variants of the name for girls include:
"Floortje" (meaning in Dutch: 'small Flower'), Fleur (meaning in Dutch: Flower that blossoms),
and also: Florina, Florence, Florentine, Florianne.
So, you can say in a way: *"Floor" is another word for: "Flower"*
Source, in Dutch, so I translated it for you:

I started listening when Tarja was the singer, and she drew me into the band. Annette was passable. But Floor is the epitome of Nightwish IMO
I am so glad to see this video it fills a huge hole that i have been woundering how Floor became Nightwish, she has truly lifted the band from amazing to perfect, i will follow nightwish for a long time now i hope
Discussing change of drummer for Nightwish: *Everyone is respectful and agrees about talent all around*
Discussing change of vocalist for Nightwish: *Various hissing and spitting noises in between screeches of Tarja's and Floor's name*
tbf, the change of drummers was not forced by the band, but due to outside circumstances, and Jukka rbought Kai on himself as replacement.
@@TerranigmaQuintet Exactly, you're right. It's just funny how all the people who insist on comparing the vocalists are so vicious!
@@octo448 Seems there is alot more passion when it come to those yes. ANd in many ways that fanaticism oddly resembles that what see in pop music, where the same behaviour can be spotted lol
And then you come across a video of Tarja and Floor together on stage (lots of fake ones out there, but one is real - faking them hugging is hard. ;-))
I love Esko Valtaoja speaking trough the document! The best star professor and Nightwish together.
When Floor called it a dream come true with no idea she'd be joining the band permanently. ❤❤❤
Any other full grown men come here to weep? Something about this documentary just really hits me there.
Floor did very well so far! Astonishing, charismatic voice and it gets to you easily by her talent.
Thank you for uploading this film. It's a great insight into the band.
amazing of of the best bands in the world , amazing talene all in one place
Ghost Love Score: the most reacted song in UA-cam history
Bet those fans that wanted their money back after Floor took over from Anette feel like Jackasses and regret that decision every day
Floor said in a Dutch TV program, that there was only 1 person who demanded his ticket to be returned. So... Not really. ;-)
Awsome! Since Tarja came out the first name I thought was Floor... I always loved her job and I thought her voice would be amazing at Nightwish, and there she is. Happy for that moment, long life to Nightwish! And I'm one of this crazy Brazilian fans in this volcano place hahahaha
*WHOOuH*.. Quite of 'MentalStrain(a sort of..)THING'.. *happen* to TuomasH. *sad* one. (Look for yourself) - 19:42 'one part of Tour *he* ..Looklike *THIS'* and then - 1:56:25 'at the *End* of tour..' - *LIKE..that??!* - AMAZING..'change in TuomasH.' *I* think so. (How about *YOU* then.. - Want to be *Artist* 'anymore'? ) Sure, but.. *I* Doubt *IT.* - ..oukeii.. *SOONMORONÄÄSny..* VIHTAkiittää:))
"I forgot my pipes " after 100 shows you forgot them troy LOL
+Tijl Trienen I love Nightwish, but just cannot get to like that pipe guy.
Personally I think he's funny as hell. 😆
You never forgot your phone or your keys anywhere?
Floor didn't forget hers.
He has such a great personality and he is a great musician. Fits the band perfectly.
1:35:35 that's why I'm proud of my country. Floor (and the guys) deserve this love. I wish I can go to a concert in the future and send this love to all of them 😍
I find it so cool to find an alternative instead of canceling the gig!! Floor Jansen is just unbelivable! She saved this incredible band
The ride of the Valkyries now
"I should remember each day how privileged I am to do this. To remember not to complain about it and be proud about it. This is an amazing adventure."
--Tuomas Holopainen
Gifted with music. Gifted with humility. Much respect, young brother. 🎖🏆❤
Love Nightwish, and seeing this was really interesting. Floor has such a besutiful voice, she's the best bits of Tarja and Annette put together I think. And her wardrobe is amazing too. Nightwih forever!
Epic story! Awesome band!
Imagine having the talent to do a show being told 1 hour before the start and saying 'Erm, I know one or two songs by heart, the others I'd need the lyrics to read while singing, but yeah I can do it' and then do it and the crowd going crazy loving it. Imagine that.
Troy seems like the coolest guy ever. Would definitely be the most fun to hang out with of anyone in the band.
I felt so for Tuomas. You can see on his face that he tries to keep it together.
Newer interviews has him smiling a lot, and it's so nice to see.
...part of that is probably due to Johanna as well, his wife. The man finally found someone for him and he seems happy with them. Also, look up the picture of him out at camp...He's wearing a speedo, beer in one hand, cig in the other, with this manic grin on his face. It's *wonderful.*
@@Ekehart That's not beer. ;-)
8:40 Elize and Alissa did awesome job with 55 minute preparation time. Even the almighty Floor got 48 hours to prepare for her first Nightwish show.
