You are gasping air in total disbelief, in total amazement, on how good these guys are. They are so uplifting and give you so much energy. World needs more Nightwish.
Exactly, and that's why I can't listen to Nightwish as often as I want and should. Because I mostly listen to music while working, so it disappears in the background. Have you ever tried to listen to them, especially their live performance videos AND concentrate on something else? It doesn't work. They completely suck you in, ears, eyes and mind. Even when I watch their lives (or even reaction) while eating, I often just forget to eat while watching. Yeah, I love them. And I love the scientific route they've taken so openly since that album (folks who are into biology, chemistry and astronomy, no matter if hobby or professional, are crying tears of joy for songs like this).
The album has 2 CD's. One is just the symphonic/classical music, the other is the symphonic metal you are used to. Worth listening to - Tuomas is a composer equal in talent to the masters of old. This song is based on the book The Greatest Show On Earth: The Evidence For Evolution by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins. The spoken word bits are actually Dawkins reading from his own works. The song tells the story of the formation of the Earth and the development and evolution of life, including the rise, and the ultimate decline, of humankind. Both Tuomas and Floor originally aspired to be biologists and both of them, as well as Nightwish, have had species named after them.
But how many people get it on first time watching? I can say I didn´t get it because I listen to music. Now it makes perfectly sense. Like the fireworks in the begining was the big bang and so on.

Floor's younger sister Irene was there too. She has a wonderful voice too and has done a lot of work with the various Aryeon projects with Arjen Lucassen.
Sweetys you NEED to listen to Marcos Cover of High Hopes from Pink Floyd and The Islander from him singing, too! :D He has such an amazing Voice! I´m a fan of Pink Floyd since 20 years and High Hopes is my Fav. song - I´ve never expected a cover that could be near or better than the original but Marco did it! :)
This song is not normal, this is something else! Even masterpiece is word too common to describe it! :) Loved your reaction, one of my favorites to Greatest Show on Earth! Hard to believe there are still people who didn't hear it by now, but in this case it is certainly better late than never :) I'm glad it is getting so much traction recently from reaction UA-camrs, word needs to spread about this incredible song and performance
Marco Hietala can sing too. You can watch him when he sang "KISS WHILE YOUR LIPS ARE STILL RED @WEMBLEY ARENA" "THE ISLANDER at TAMPERE" or when they covered HIGH HOPES by PINK FLOYD and Marco sang it well.
WE WERE HERE! ! ! Excellent reaction guys. The Greatest Show on Earth can only be followed by All the Works of Nature Which Adorn the World. From HUMAN NATURE. Thomas the Mastermind of NIGHTWISH.
Oh my God. She was about to reach a huge floorgasm at 24:12 when he hit the pause. I just love how she looks at him after that. True coitus interruptus. LOL. You guys rock. Thank you. Again.
Marco is brilliant. You should check out his cover of Pink Flloyd "High Hopes". I added to my playlist after the first listen. You all are such talented artists, thank you for taking time to react to other bands. Would be awesome to see them react to yours as well. 🤩

This has to be my favorite song to watch reactions to and you did it so well. I will subscribe and check out more of your content. Greetings from Iceland.
The song "The greatest show on earth" is about life and evolution with uncredible good lyrics. So the three words: we were here, sung at the end, refer to us humans and our life on earth that will end so fast, but: WE WERE HERE!
I see people recommending you Islander and whatnot for more Marco - but I'd suggest going a bit heavier and listening to Wish I had An Angel. It's a song a lot of people forget how much Marco fronts it. Honestly I'd love to see you watch old vs new singer (not for comparing who's better but just to see two environments) so I'd love to see you guys react to Wish I Had An Angel @ Wacken 2013 live and then either the original music video or the live from End of an Era concert where Tarja (first singer) was still with them. It's an interesting song to watch because some emotion is visible among the other band members because it was the last song of the End of an Era concert and right after they handed Tarja the open letter terminating her from the band. I'm not sure how much you guys know about Nightwish but it's significant as Tuomas and Tarja were best friends and there are videos of them as young as 14 together in a musical performance. Still would love to see you react to songs like The Islander, Kiss while your lips are still red, High Hopes, etc but I think Wish I had an angel gets passed up a lot when looking for experiencing Marco's ability.
I loved how much into it you were at one point that the recording of the video and comments went to 2nd place, please do Yours Is An Empty Hope is VERY cool, Nightwish is my favorite band and I really enjoy watching you react to it
This music transcends all the usual things that songs speak about. The best is fan-made video of the song. I recommend everyone to send it and get listen to the story. It's a fan-made video that both in audio and video is PERFECT to go for it with it .
I love this song so much and seeing you two react to it made my day! I always get emotional at the end when Dawkins voice comes in because it's just so true. We are all so lucky to be here.
A little song covering 4.6 billion years of the evolution of the solar system, the Earth, and mankind. Life itself is "The Greatest Show on Earth"! Great reaction both of you! Peace.
Sunday morning, cup of coffee, You Tube, and my favourite new band Wolf Hunterz react to my all time favourite Band. What a way to start my holydays....
Marco was a bit of a legend even before he joined Nightwish way back in the day. His old band, Tarot, are a very respected old name in the Finnish metal scene, even if not internationally well known. He also used to do *tons* of guest appearances and session appearances in various bands. He is a *very* good singer, despite the fact that at one point he had a slightly botched unnecessary throat surgery that damaged his vocal cords. He also released a solo album recently, titled "Pyre of the Black Heart", or "Mustan sydämen rovio" in Finnish; there are versions in both languages available. It's really good.
4.3 billion years in the making. Only Tuomas would try to bring it down to 20 minutes. We are the universe made manifest. Here to understand itself. From the galaxies to the solar systems an all the vastness in between. To the planets and all the creatures on them. Hence from the star's once we came. To the stars we must return. Before the eternal night of us ALL. For no other reason than to say in one voice. !!!!!!WE WERE HERE!!!!!
The song is about nothing less than the beginning of the universe (the fireworks at the beginning symbolising the Big Bang), the forming of the Solar system, the birth of life on Earth, human evolution, and our place in the universe ("We were here"). The lyrics take us through all those stages. The narration at the beginning and end is by British evolutionary biologist (and vocal atheist) Richard Dawkins. I remember reading that Tuomas's idea for the song was that you can experience awe in the natural world, without believing in anything supernatural. Btw, I was at that show, and it was definitely the closest I've ever come to a religious experience.
One new crab species (Tanidromites nightwishorum) was named in honor NW in particular for album “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” and especially this song.
The fireworks are not the big bang, The first part is called Four Point Six as 4,6 billion years ago when Earth formed. Bug Bang was somw where around 13 billion.
@@mantailuaa I always took it as the first instrumental part taking us from the Big Bang to the formation of the Solar system, leading into the first lyrics. But I might be wrong.
only got to see them live once, in 08 or so, for the "Dark Passion Play" Tour in the USA. Only a couple of years after the "End of an Era", when they were supposedly in decline and heading back to the shadows. Now look at them. Probably one of the top 10, if not top 5 Metal bands on the planet, putting on literally, the "Greatest Show on Earth".
Well I guess im a bit biased but i put them at the top of most everything I have heard in the past 20 years and I have been in the army only 2.5 years and i go back a long way late 60s so i have pretty much seen them all. Revived my faith in GREAT MUSIC
@@garywillingham3644 not really bias, music is subjective. But objectively, hard to place them above Iron Maiden or Metallica for sheer impact, sales, reach. That said, 10v years ago it'd be hard to have seen them dusting off and hitting these heights, no offense to Anette. But it took adding Floor for Tuomas to be able to truly unleash the beast, again. Now? I think they'll safely replace Metallica and Maiden as the top dogs worldwide in Metal, as they both taper off from sheer age. Just don't see a single other bands with such universal appeal and talent

I think Floor,s mother and father were at this concert..and Floor,s husband is the drummer for Sabaton. i think thats right.
Yep, she is married to Sabaton's drummer. There were complaints cos Hannes parked his battleship out front & blocked people in.
thats right
@@GaryHolloway-810 Firepower, firefight!
Floor's younger sister Irene was there too. She has a wonderful voice too and has done a lot of work with the various Aryeon projects with Arjen Lucassen.
And Floor was pregnant !
This song is a masterpiece. Love guys! Let's hope COVID doesn't fuck up their live in December in my town cause i already have the tickets.
Decemeber 6 Prague O2 arena 20 000 + ppl hope for the same.
@@vitezslavhron3879 Good luck mate :)
Budapest as well at december. 15.000 lets hope for the best.
December 18th Wembley for me
Same! I have tickets for Wembley!
Everything Nightwish does is EPIC!
This whole band is constructed of a bunch of badasses!!!
Alright guys, next up "The Poet and Pendulum live at Wembley". Bring the whole band to react to it. And please check out the backstory forehand.
Only a suggestion: never stop a Nightwish song at the final line....
Never ever.
Every time I see this, I cry. So great! Loved your reaction to this masterpiece of magnificence!
the odds of you being born, 1 in 400 Trillion. With a T. appreciate your miraculous existence. live your best life. it's the only one you get.
Caveat :...That you know about....or remember...
He is truly the metal mozart of this era!
and greatings to chris from a dutch veteran! if needed i listen!
This song is showing true potential from whole band, for me by far the best song they ever made until now and I'm a fan from first album
WE WERE HERE! ! !
Excellent reaction guys. The Greatest Show on Earth can only be followed by All the Works of Nature Which Adorn the World. From HUMAN NATURE.
Thomas the Mastermind of NIGHTWISH.
Oh my God. She was about to reach a huge floorgasm at 24:12 when he hit the pause. I just love how she looks at him after that. True coitus interruptus. LOL. You guys rock. Thank you. Again.
I was at that show, was visiting family in Imatra (Living in Australia atm.) and yes it was worth it!
You guys gonna enjoy "Yours is an empty hope" by Nightwish
Marco is brilliant. You should check out his cover of Pink Flloyd "High Hopes". I added to my playlist after the first listen. You all are such talented artists, thank you for taking time to react to other bands. Would be awesome to see them react to yours as well. 🤩
Your have a good time, Floor is EPIC Good the band Nigthwisch even, so good. Love you reacion and you comment, thank fore that, bye bye from the Nederlands
Y'all need to react to Nightwish more often!
Floor and Epica - Sancta Terra (live retrospect show)
Wow! Such a beautiful reaction guys! Very pure and authentic...like all your Nightwish reactions. Keep up the good stuff! 👍🏻 greetz from a very proud Dutchman from The Netherlands
It would take a volume to describe the magnitude of this epic performance. I think you facial reactions say it all. Chris thank you for you service
This has to be my favorite song to watch reactions to and you did it so well. I will subscribe and check out more of your content.
Greetings from Iceland.
Chris didn't realise just how difficult it was for him to make that concert...I was hiding in his suitcase.
The song "The greatest show on earth" is about life and evolution with uncredible good lyrics. So the three words: we were here, sung at the end, refer to us humans and our life on earth that will end so fast, but: WE WERE HERE!
Fun fact: it is physically impossible not to sing that part as an audience member.
this is by far, my most favorite song, of any band, i have ever heard in my life. I could listen to it continuously.. Toumas is a Genius.
This song is such a masterpiece of musical talent it's ridiculous!!
I hope someone is there
I love this song so much and seeing you two react to it made my day!
Peace.
It also nods to the history of western popular music, and spans the range of the Nightwish sound.
Absolutely AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is such a great band. Love everything about them.
The Wolf Hunterz!! Love to u from Finland 🤟🤟
I love when Floor Jansen says in Finnish KIITOS thank you in Finnish it just melts my Heart.
Who wrote this quote Damon?
@@minorindiscretion
It's bits an pieces from 4 different sources. Carl Sagen, Zamora, Galileo, Plato.
Damon Bryan oh ok, so nobody important then. Lol.
This is the song I want put in the space capsule for aliens to find and hear.
When Floor starts up her windmill it is IMPOSSIBLE not to headbang, she's so f*ing good at headbanging and especially doing the windmill!
More then 1000 views in 50minutes, you guys are popular!
loved that reaction, felt like i was right there with you...
@@bishopsteiner7134 I understand exacly what you are saying and I agrree Floor brought them from the edge of the abyss and allowed Toumas to write for the band and not the singer Exactly what was needed. Hopefully Great things will continue now and they will conquer the USA When and or if that happens (not so sure it will ) it will be Phenomenal I live in the USA and Im hoping to fly to London to see them at at Wembly in December . Thanks for the Reply I certainly Appreciate it
@@bishopsteiner7134 BTW after i posted to you i was linked to a band called Bridge City Sinners Folk Metal I was like OK im open to most anything HAVE TO ADMIT i WAS IMPRESSED might not be your cup of tea but give it a listen and get back to me Female singer also
Floor's parents were in the crowd, that's one of the reasons she gave us her 1000%
Your hair is just awesome Suzie! Thank you for this video :)
Great review!!! Thanks for reviewing my most favorite song of all time. No... it's much more than a song... it's a symphony - one of the greatest symphonies ever written in the history of the planet.
That was fun watching your reaction. How incredibly awesome this music and video was and is. I've watched it many times and it never gets old I'm glad you enjoyed it as well.
That is Music! The best one. Thanks to yours reactions.
I really love you people reacting, it comes from the heart.
Nightwish is something else. Watching them live is such experience and privilege, everyone should do it once in their lifetime. They are rare.
The greatest show on earth is LIFE and how you live it that is rhe message behind this song, that is atleast how i see it great band great music great lyrics
The song title doesnˋt mean this performance, but life itself
This is Nightwish at their very best. ❤️👍💪
Kick Ass Reaction! Is Without A Doubt The Greatest Show On Earth! Love Wolf Hunterz...Suzi Q, Wish I Was A Younger Man...Then You Would Be The Hunted! Ha! Be Safe! Peace To You All!
Thank you guys, this was amazing! ♥️🤘👍
Another great reaction guys thank you ! 🤘🏻 just wait till Poet & Pendulum. That’s even better 😂🤯
You guys are one of the few who actually watch till the end :)
Great reaction, keep'em coming!
This was their last concert from a world tour. They made sure to be in Finland for Christmas. Love you guys. Thanks.
This was filmed in July of 2015, actually. Big hint is how light the sky is - I'm told this was something close to 10 pm, but remember how far north Finland is. Wembley was the December 2015 show.
Great reaction again, nice to see you both again. Loved it, especially because you haven't listened to this song in advance. If you are going to do any another reaction from Nightwish, (and i am sure you will) please choose "song of myself" or "storytime" both from the wacken 2013 concert.
One of the best reactions to this song I have watched. It’s NOT a movie soundtrack… it’s bigger. It’s a soundtrack to life on the planet, from inception to our eventual demise. WE WERE HERE! Keep enjoying Nightwish!
When Nightwish says it's the greatest show on earth, it is no idle boast.
Thank you folks for your great Nightwish reactions. Please keep them coming.
Nightwish Army, Tucson Chapter
When this cd was released in 2015, Endless Forms Most Beautiful and this song was uploaded on UA-cam and before they had started their tour someone commented on youtube, "this sing is never going to be played live". I just hope that guy has seen this live performance, because it is just out of this world. It was really nice to experience how you enjoyed every minute of this amazing song, you didn't just watch it, you did feel it...and that is Nightwish music. Thank you, check out Dead Boys Poem from Buenos Aires 2018.
Over 20 minutes state of art .....how the world is creating. Listen and learn...
thanks for sticking to the end and not cut it short like many reactors
I took my wife and daughter to see this tour in San Jose California back in 2018.
Probably the best concert that I've ever been to in my 56 years of living.
The last part of music where they thank the crowd is still part of the song. So there be no discussion about Genious Tuomas.
Thanks for letting it play all the way through.
It matters.
I must be very sensitive tonight cause Floor barely starts signing that beautiful aria and I'm already in tears
dont be afraid to cry from time to time...you have a heart
Floor often makes grown men weep
im quite enjoying you enjoy your journey
Amazing ...amazing I love band ....Floor is The queen Nigthwish Army ...Marco beautiful man amazing singer....Tuomas is genius composer Kai the drummer is amazing powerful .....
