0:18 "by now we know what to expect" 0:54 "this isn't what I expected" 😂 So relatable though. And they'll throw these curveballs quite often. You'll always know it's them, but man, do they continuously change things up. And always manage to make it sound great 😎
if you want a glimpse of what a concert feels like, you could check "the curse of the spider 2024 concert ver." , it's a music video of them performing on stage but with "clean audio", and if you have time you can even check the "non live" version and see the difference in arrangement (from edm-ish to metal)
So happy you enjoyed this masterpiece! There was a key change yes! You would love PIRI, sound wise - you gonna love this one. Red Sun and WInd Blows are so playful soundwise too
omg i'm glad you're reacting to my girls, definetly you guys need to get deep into dreamcatcher's dyscography, they try a lot of diferent genres and actually my favorite songs are mostly bsides ( mayday, whistle, black and white, sahara, and more) . a fun fact is that their producers are leez and ollounder which are the same as ateez so it's not a surprise they have such great b sides.
the story of Dejavu is also being put into the chords, no wonder you got confused there, the note was raised to put the feeling of Deja Vu when they are returned to the original chord
Thank you for reacting to Dreamcatcher. Deja Vu is such an epic song with an enthralling mv to match. They did a japanese song titled Eclipse for the king raid anime series. About the named subtitle I think only deja vu and scream have that. BOCA (the song after scream) era yt prevent third party from uploading the subtitle. BOCA by the way is a moombahton rock title song. The recent justice video at it's live would be a good live song to check out. There's the primavera concert performance to check out how'd they fare in such venue. Looking forward for future Dreamcatcher reacyion from you guys 🤘
Dreamcatcher writers love a big final chorus with extra elements. I notice it in most of their songs, but I think the fandom at large really notices it in some songs more than others. Shatter, A b-side from villains, And Maison, The title track from the first apocalypse album, both had mixed reviews when they first came out because people thought the songs were too flat... except for the final chorus.
Thx for your reaction. Some further details of the M/V just to show how complex their title tracks can be: Deja Vu is a song about love, friendship and most importantly betrayal. It is a standalone title track, not part of a Dreamcatcher story arc, and the song itself is a collaboration with the game KING's RAID by Vespa as you guys have pointed out. The M/V has the two main characters: JiU and Yoohyeon and the same story is told from their different viewpoint where Deja Vu should more interpreted as distortion of perception triggered by a feeling, a past event or dream here. Pretty much how Yoohyeon's mind distorts the past how she has betrayed and killed JiU to get the throne while also got rid all the other members and now sitting on the throne all alone. Similar to Scream, white is innocence / purity while black is for the dark side. And the most important color is blue, that represents (distorted) memory while red is more for the bloody truth. Now for the story in nutshell: First we see Yoohyeon sitting on throne wearing white but the moment she sits on it she get corrupted by the black fog 0:57 (note already the blue filter here). According to her memory JiU was threatening her while she is innocent (1:24) - JiU in Black, Yoohyeon in White. The 7 of them were friends 1:30 , note the red drinks representing the actual past here but distortion kicks in at 1:33 the rewrites the past (flow of time changes). We see at 1:36 that according to the distorted memory they are now in conflict and the others are gone. Please note the blue drinks this time. At 2:33 we see the actual past of JiU wearing white but she forgives Yoohyeon 2:42 she drops the sword, only to get betrayed and stabbed in the back at 3:35. The table scene at 1:30 is representing the last supper to emphasize the betrayal. Anyway Yoohyeon also gets rid of the others, already at the beginning we see Handong imprisoned 1:13, SuA banished 1:18, Siyeon probably dead 3:43 etc. Just to get to the final scene where Yoohyeon is sitting on the throne all alone wearing black. 4:20.
Tbh I feel like Yoohyeon just killed them all. With Siyeon at the end of the song, she does a choreo with Dami holding her arm as she does a movement that looks like she's being stabbed, and the other members do it as well 3:54 which is to show what Yoohyeon did to them (killed them with a sword). The fact that they only dance this at the end of the song is important too, it's the end of all their stories as they were killed by Yoohyeon.
The Sacrifices of MINX , Becomes the Oath of the Eternal Legendary Dreamcatcher , Never To give up on the Dream . the story of the Dreamcatcher. 7 beings were Born into this World, they would find each other through Destiny, and be bonded to each other Through Destiny for All Time. When 5 of them found each other they became Minx (18.09.2014), but Destiny had other plans for them and forces would separate them. But their Bond Through Destiny was so Strong that they would find each other throughout all Time , they Returned and Destiny brought the final 2 beings to the group. They became Guardians of Dreams, They became Dreamcatcher . Gifted , Blessed and Bonded Through Destiny for all Time. To be a Dreamcatcher you have to be chosen by Fate , and Blessed by Destiny with : Magic , Power , Fire and Timeless Beauty . those who Discover Dreamcatcher, Become InSomnia and never Sleep on Dreamcatcher talent.
Fun fact, for the first time im hear this song, my year was dropped suddenly 🥲 The demo song from their producer (leez) is using higher note, you can find it at youtube He upload some demo song for dreamcatcher 😅
Thanks for checking this one out :D "Deja Vu" is one of DC's best, and definitely one of the most beloved by the fandom. And the MV is really pretty, too.
Deja Vu is nothing short of a masterpiece. It is a beautiful, fragile ballad that kicks your teeth down your throat in the chorus. It is extra difficult to sort out, because it tells the story from two perspectives. You know how even evil people think they are the good guys? This is reflected here. One perspective is Yoohyeon's, who gets corrupted right in the beginning. She thinks JiU is bad (does not want to share power) and backstabs her and kills, imprisons or banishes the other members so that she can rule alone. The other perspective is reality, where we can see JiU be kind to Yoohyeon, but she gets killed for it. I believe this is a commentary on the different perspectives people can have about the same event. The lyrics seem to hint at an abusive relationship, where there are usually two perspectives as well, and the abuser finds excuses to justify their actions, while the abused find themselves in an endless Deja Vu.

If you want to experience their rock side, honestly their road of utopia’s trilogy was the most heavy sounding comeback - starting from scream, boca and odd eye. Im not taking into account of their japanese release at this point
You will probably react to their title tracks anyway, so I really want to recommend two of their b-sides: mata hitori ni natta and jazz bar. Not their typical sound but I'm sure you would like it :D
dreamcatcher \:D/ still struggling to compare dreamcatcher to ateez so not sure what those making the comparison are smoking lol. ateez shares some of the producers for dreamcatcher but that's about it. dreamcatcher tried using the ateez producers for a brief period(8 songs preceding the most recent album) and I think the backlash was so great they dumped them because the most recent album doesn't have a single song with those ateez producers credits.
You're entitled to your opinion, but I see you keep posting this, as well as a video on your channel about "ATEEZ producers ruining DC" but you do realize Ollounder and LEEZ were and are heavily involved in ATEEZ, correct? Since LEEZ is gone, referring to Ollounder mostly. It's just more collaborators, but they always have been connected before bringing in the others.. even if the groups are very different sonically. Not sure about any "backlash" either. OOTD was a miss as a title track, I 100% agree, but because it didn't push the boundaries enough. It was too safe in its satire and the song was very formulaic with no big release. It would work for a well known group where people know it's super different enough for it to be a shock factor, but not DC, where a smaller fandom just felt 50/50 on them experimenting on a song that didn't experiment. But I think that's really the only song you can really point at as being a huge departure from their sound in general with those producers. BONVOYAGE is a fan/performance favorite (and my personal favorite comeback in the last 4-5) with a throwback 'Fly High' sort of sound, DEMIAN sounds like nothing in the kpop sphere at all, Propose is dark and gritty and has a DC feel, Rising was probably their hardest + most solid pure rock song in a very long time, Shatter was super fun. All of those are songs under the "pizza producers" that people really vibed with. I don't know. I think you're taking one example of OOTD era and trying to apply it to everything as a "DC's sound is different with them!" and the argument falls flat there. "From us", the album you kept referring to in your video as starting the "trend following" (which, again, none of those songs from BONVOYAGE to DEMIAN to PROPOSE sound like any other groups at all), still feels the most DC to me in the last few releases, in terms of vintage sound but with new twists. It's also rated very highly on rateyourmusic, where people are pretty harsh on reviewing, meaning it scratched the itch of originality + core sound + new, fun sounds too - rated just below Tree of Language. I love JUSTICE... and agree that their vocals and harmonies being used more is great, esp in Fireflies, but JUSTICE has drowned out vocals and effects without the pizza producers too, it's just more of a rock forward song. Anyway, thats a debate prob not for this comment section xD
@@soulthegm I did say ateez shares dc's producers in the original comment. the point of the comment was to question why people compare dc and ateez. I just don't see it. even with the pizza gang on board for those 8 songs, I still can't compare them to any ateez songs. let's face it, most ateez songs are noise music. at least with ollounder on board, there's still some resemblance of composed music with real instrumentation in the songs the pizza folks were involved in. but people will like what they like so I don't judge anyone for that. I know a lot of people do like ootd and that's fine. I just don't think the pizza gang style fits with dc for the main reason they use heavy distortion on their vocals, which is a crime imo. for the entire song, there were distortion and vocal effects on every single second of dc's vocal verses. for me, it's dc's diverse vocals that make the song, not any production behind it.
These girls' vocals are completely out of this world. They are incredible.
Deja Vu will forever be a masterpiece.
NO ONE absolutely is doing it like Dreamcatcher

😂

UUUH THIS ONE IS LEGENDARY! Right? Dreamcatcher is owning their own genre! beautiful sound-composition and also heavy at the same time, love this one!
It's the song that almost give Dreamcatcher their first win in music show...they got their first music show win 3 years later in 2022...
deja vu got robbed so hard
