The fact that the instrumentals in their recorded songs are so painfully digital hurts me physically and mentally. They could be so much more alive with real instruments. The songs really feel like one producer threw things together without actually knowing how to play the instruments. The ideas are good and solid, but it lacks flair that an expert in the instrument can provide.
Did she film it before or just do this specific schedule? It's the same outfits they wore on a music show, so isn't possible she could have joined them for this since it's a recording and not a live schedule? It does seem like the health problems might be related to stage anxiety.... she's been in everything that has been filmed in a closed environment. It's the live performances she has been missing from. I hope whatever it is, she can get well soon and be able to join DC on tour this fall. She always seems to have so much fun on stage with the members during tours.

@@killbethya lot of these are prerecorded before hand and take time to be edited. As you know, her hiatus was announced last second, she was apart of everything prior to like a couple days before comeback date implying it was a last second decision.
Give it up for those who had the "fight" lines. Not only do they have to do that in one long note, but they got to do it twice in a row with no breath. (If they are taking a breath, they have next to no room to complete it) Everyone is going to go crazy for Siyeon's power-versions, but for me Yoohyeon and Gahyeon stood out to me because Yoohyeon just makes this looks smooth and easy (and it sooo isn't), while Gahyeon was a big surprised.
They do breathe between the "fights" hahahaha. We learn how to do these things at the very basic level singing classes, instead of using your nose you use your mouth to take a quick breath, however, with a bit of practice what seems like little to no time for ppl without vocal experience feels like and eternity for those with some technique and they're able to just do it normally but really quick. To be fair is all a matter of breath control, something a person start learning at day one and will still practice and build upon throughout their whole career, it doesn't matter how long or short it will be. It's one of the pillars for singers. Even more imporant for singers that are also dancers. That's what separates groups such as Dreamcatcher who'll have concerts with live bands and still sing with their bonkers choreography and NMIXX that'll post videos of them singing while dancing in their studio with no mics and have members go viral because they're singing perfectly while jogging on stage lol... You have groups such as the ones mentioned with artists that actually care for their craft (I'm sure there are others)... And then there's the rest holding on to their AR for dear life.
THE VOCALS ARE INSANE- it's a crime that they don't go viral with every comeback. Esp in this time in kpop where we're seeing the apparent lack of vocal ability or vocal foundation / training that companies have given to their artists. The music might not be everyone's taste but you can't deny talent. Wishing the best for the girls and for Siyeon to take all the time that she needs. Also mad respect to her for filming these couple performances before her break. I'm unsure if other kpop artists who took breaks made sure to do a couple performances before sitting out promotions, but I'd like to think that Siyeon wanted to make sure that everyone was able to see the full completed performance before sitting out of promos. On the subject of Siyeon - things like this are generally filmed significantly before promotions start, and from what we know, the whole situation snuck up on her all at once like, just a day before it was announced. So when this was filmed, probably no one knew she'd be sitting out promotions yet.

IDK I'd say that's not really a 3rd gen thing generally. I think 3rd gen was weaker than 2nd or 4th (tho not 5th 💀) on vocals - because 3rd gen was the hip hop meta! 3rd gen had the strongest rap of any generation, not so much vocals. Dreamcatcher would be considered high level in 4th gen, and is clearly one of the best right now, but they were also clearly one of the best when they debuted.

(youngjae, daehyun), got7 (jinyoung, youngjae, jaebom), day6 and n.flying if you count k-bands... and that's only the most well known 3rd gen boy groups that i can think of off the top of my head (i don't know girl groups as well). There are many, many more nugus from 3rd gen that are talked abut to this day when people discuss strong kpop vocalists. 4th gen has much fewer vocal powerhouses; it's typically only one per group, if even! Edit: adding a.c.e to the list lol! They constantly go viral for their vocals!

You can see from this why Dreamcatcher won Music Bank's Best Performance Musician award for Justice, and Siyeon wasn't even there! This is a new award this year and I almost think it was created for groups like Dreamcatcher, who don't have big enough fandoms to easily win on the music shows, but are just too good to ignore.
I'm in awe on how a group that's more than 7 years old still keeps on outdoing and reinventing themselves but still remaining true to their original concept.
You know what's ironic, every out of tune moment from idols goes so viral stupidly, also every good vocal moment that goes viral from other idols is one time instant in one unique event, then they spend the rest of their promotion with pre record vocals. Here dreamcatcher every comeback they elevate their sound and sing live with real felt emotions, enjoying the moment not just flashing the technical vocal skills. But the public choose to follow mainstream idols even if they hate their vocals, I've yet to understand why they dismiss authentic idols that own their musicality. I love kpop in all its levels and groups, but it hurts seeing dreamcatcher not being talked about by everyone 🥺
it's simply because kpop nowadays is about content only, not music or vocal ability popular boy groups now are prime examples of that: no need to create good songs or train their vocalists when all of them can just be hot on camera and produce tons of 'fun' bonus content, right? 🗿

Dreamcatcher’s music style is not a style that everyone likes. I’m not an Insomnia and I love some songs of them, but not all what they proposes, I know how they talented but sometimes it’s just the song. For exemple I like « justice » but not « OOTD ». Il like « BEcause » but not « Vision ».

최근 KPOP 무대에서 밴드 연주가 심심치 않게 보여지고 동시에 Rock성향이 드리운다는 점에서 드림캐쳐에게는 매우 긍정적인 추세라고 보여진다. 그나저나 요즘 KPOP 가수들의 가창력에 의심을 품는 분위기가 조성됐던 거 같은데, 이걸 드림캐쳐가 보기 좋게 뭉개주는 거 같아 뿌듯하다.
Siyeon always makes singing look so easy, especially the high notes. And Dreamcatcher is really made for live shows. In a very generic kpop scene, they are rare. So rare that people just keep missing out 🫢
Justice is like 99% without Siyeon but 100% with Siyeon. Her vocal is so amazing. Please get better Siyeon so you can join the others in activities again. We love you, fighting!
@@bethjk6914 depends, in terms of versatility and creative use of their voice Sua is better than Yoohyeon, Siyeon can alter her voice for different styles, she can pull a whiney sound for songs that need grit without dealing with vocal fatigue and go for a classical style in more typical pop songs or ballad. Yoohyeon tends to lean entirely classical so is noticeably less versatile (her complaining about fatigue post concert), Even now with rock vocal training to be able to add grit like Siyeon does without hurting herself she tends to lean classical because its hard to unlearn nearly a decade of training. Similarly while Sua was always more versatile she ended up damaging her voice in the past when she did the same vocal effect that Siyeon does with ease. I think dcc are doing a great job by giving the girls rock vocal lessons but I think their strengths lies in different areas and any one voice being absent makes the song feel empty, like how the ot7 songs sound fuller with Handong's deep voice.
Their sub-vocalist can be a main vocalist in another group Their lead vocalist can be the main vocalist for their group Their main vocalist can be a professional vocal trainer for a group What a fucking group
They are so talented, so underrated, and so unique, I'm glad they're still doing their own thing and showing a different face than what everyone else is doing, truly amazing group

I wish I had better words, but I don't. Dreamcatcher's members are more than perfect. The skills they have been honing and improving throughout these years are outstanding. JUSTICE is a ridiculously exhausting song to perform both in the dancing and singing aspect on their own, and the members are pulling off both at the same time. I WANT TO HEAR DREAMCATCHER WITH A LIVE BAND AT LEAST ONCE IN MY LIFE IN A CONCERT. PLEASE! I'm so incredibly proud of all their efforts and achievements, but even more of all the people who this 7 member family consists of. They are each other's love, strength, motivation, motivator, goal, support, fan and so on. Dreamcatcher was, is and always will be 7.
I recently started to check out Dreamcatcher after learning that Rolling Quartz's Yeongeun is a fan of theirs (and RQ did a cover of one of their songs). The vocals for Dreamcatcher are just insanely good! Hard to believe that a 3rd generation group full of all-rounders like this (vocals, visual, dance) isn't more popular. They would be the perfect group for a venue like Coachella or Lollapalooza!

It's Gahyun now. They changed the romanization to match the way her name is actually pronounced.

You know what's ironic, every out of tune moment from idols goes so viral stupidly, also every good vocal moment that goes viral from other idols is one time instant in one unique event, then they spend the rest of their promotion with pre record vocals.
Here dreamcatcher every comeback they elevate their sound and sing live with real felt emotions, enjoying the moment not just flashing the technical vocal skills. But the public choose to follow mainstream idols even if they hate their vocals, I've yet to understand why they dismiss authentic idols that own their musicality.
I love kpop in all its levels and groups, but it hurts seeing dreamcatcher not being talked about by everyone 🥺

popular boy groups now are prime examples of that: no need to create good songs or train their vocalists when all of them can just be hot on camera and produce tons of 'fun' bonus content, right? 🗿

Dreamcatcher’s music style is not a style that everyone likes. I’m not an Insomnia and I love some songs of them, but not all what they proposes, I know how they talented but sometimes it’s just the song. For exemple I like « justice » but not « OOTD ». Il like « BEcause » but not « Vision ».

최근 KPOP 무대에서 밴드 연주가 심심치 않게 보여지고 동시에 Rock성향이 드리운다는 점에서 드림캐쳐에게는 매우 긍정적인 추세라고 보여진다.
그나저나 요즘 KPOP 가수들의 가창력에 의심을 품는 분위기가 조성됐던 거 같은데, 이걸 드림캐쳐가 보기 좋게 뭉개주는 거 같아 뿌듯하다.

Siyeon always makes singing look so easy, especially the high notes. And Dreamcatcher is really made for live shows. In a very generic kpop scene, they are rare. So rare that people just keep missing out 🫢

@@bethjk6914 depends, in terms of versatility and creative use of their voice Sua is better than Yoohyeon, Siyeon can alter her voice for different styles, she can pull a whiney sound for songs that need grit without dealing with vocal fatigue and go for a classical style in more typical pop songs or ballad. Yoohyeon tends to lean entirely classical so is noticeably less versatile (her complaining about fatigue post concert), Even now with rock vocal training to be able to add grit like Siyeon does without hurting herself she tends to lean classical because its hard to unlearn nearly a decade of training. Similarly while Sua was always more versatile she ended up damaging her voice in the past when she did the same vocal effect that Siyeon does with ease. I think dcc are doing a great job by giving the girls rock vocal lessons but I think their strengths lies in different areas and any one voice being absent makes the song feel empty, like how the ot7 songs sound fuller with Handong's deep voice.

I recently started to check out Dreamcatcher after learning that Rolling Quartz's Yeongeun is a fan of theirs (and RQ did a cover of one of their songs). The vocals for Dreamcatcher are just insanely good! Hard to believe that a 3rd generation group full of all-rounders like this (vocals, visual, dance) isn't more popular. They would be the perfect group for a venue like Coachella or Lollapalooza!
They have attended Primavera festival last time and that was a banger but totally agree! They need to be invited to Coachella at least!
