Yes, Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?
There are so many things to love about Dreamcatcher but the fact that they've been around for more than 7 years keeping their core rock sound in all their title tracks (almost 20 if we count their Japanese ones) while still managing to sound fresh and original with every comeback is the most impressive one to me. Kudos to all their producers, but specially to Ollounder and Leez, DC's two main producers for most of their discography, for managing to mix very different types of rock (jrock, western rock, electronic rock, rock ballads, funk rock, prog rock, industrial rock, symphonic rock, nu metal, heavy metal...) with such a wide array of other genres (pop, hip hop, rap, electronic, edm, funk, reggaeton/moombathon, tropical, cyberpunk...) and most of the time make it work in such a seamless way. If you guys want to finish the Dystopia trilogy, 'Odd Eye' should be next. After that I guess you could give 'BEcause' a listen, it's a standalone title track, before diving into another storyline like Nightmare or Apocalypse. Boca is the epitome of Dreamcatcher genre. Fusing rock or metal sounds with any other genre they feel like, moombahton in Boca. BIG tonal shifts in both music and vocals, from soft and ethereal to ferocious animal attack (Dami's words). And, every single time, VOCALS.
Not a musician myself, just a dude who have a lot of listening experience. And yes, from my layman's perspective their music in general is extremely intricate and unique. Often it is subtle and too complex to catch at once, so while professionals such as you do perceive it all instantly of course, casual listeners such as myself might miss some (a lot) of details. Which is why a lot of their songs (b-sides mostly, titles are straightforward bangers anyway) "click" after a few or more than a few playthroughs. But when they click, it is instant 10/10.

It's even more interesting to hear musicians break down each part. "Did you hear this/that?" and then describing exactly what we're hearing and how each individual part relates to one another. Really appreciate your breakdown of the different elements of the song!! Dreamcatcher have such a unique ans recognizable sound and the members' voices are so beautiful it's like the perfect cherry on top. One of those groups that you can listen to without getting tired of their sound.
There are quite the image themes in the Dystopia Trilogy. It follows the Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, See No Evil trope. Scream is in a medieval setting. It deals with the rampant ignoring of bullying both online & in real life. So many people who have the authority to step in & stop it, ignore it & treat the victims as if they deserve it. This is the Hear No Evil section. Scream also paints how people are targeted for bullying as the medieval witch hunts. The members represented the goddesses who protect the Tree of Language. It starts with the members saying they don't want the pain, but ends with them declaring their intent to fight back. Boca is set in the modern times. It deals with online bullying & targeted harassment. The members are now fighting back against the bullies. And they are pointing out that if you don't have anything nice to say, SAY NOTHING. This is the Speak No Evil section. And there is a very poignant scene where Yoohyeon is seen firing a arrow into the air, representing fighting back with the same lvl of hate that is directed at them...But later we see that same arrow hit her while she is resting in their "safe" place. This illustrates that even if you are trying to combat hate, doing so with hate itself will come back & do damage to you. "An eye for an eye turns the whole world blind" is very appropriate here. The next song in the trilogy is Odd Eye. It is the See No Evil section, and it is set in a futuristic setting.
