      So sorry about the long wait 😭 I had filmed an update a few months ago actually but I haven’t gotten around to editing it yet. I will make an effort to get it posted!

    awesome car, love it man! had one for quite a while, super reliable.. can't beat that H6. On the lookout for another one hopefully, they're so damn smooth and sound incredible. looking forward to seeing some videos on this one! PS- press and hold the "audio" button and you'll activate subaru's "SRS Wow" I think it was called- dramatically improves bass and clarity! hidden feature.

      I’ll most likely be doing an update on it in about a week or so to show the progress on fixing it up. Also I just tried that SRS feature and it works! Thanks for the tip 😊

    Awesome! I have a lower mileage 2007 Outback, 2.5 L 5 speed manual. Power and heated cloth seats, great sound system. Ice cold AC and good heater. Heated mirrors and where the wiper blades sit. My first Subaru, love the car so much. Mechanically has had some issues, but it will start up no matter what! I need to get a new steering rack for it, so currently not driving it on the highway because it shakes over 45 mph. I do use it most days to drive on our farm from one side of the property to the other. I put the Falken Wildpeak trail tires on it, and this last winter didn't need to swap the snow tires on. I want to keep it for as long as possible, I think it is a worthy platform to invest into. Love how practical it is. I made reflectix window covers for camping. It is a beast in the snow, the manual makes it fun to drive. We recently got my sister a 2010 outback, tan leather etc that is a great car too. We are looking for one for my dad as he could use a go to work car that gets better gas mileage than his truck.

      They really are great vehicles. Snow driving is definitely one of the strong suits and I’m sure the 5 speed makes it really fun

      It’s already well on its way! I’ll be making another update soon but as of now, the interior is cleaned up and I have new headlights and other miscellaneous maintenance things done, I should also have new control arms arriving tomorrow and new tires later this week 😊

    Im actually looking at buying an 05 vdc with around 240,000 miles in that same color combo! Carfax looks like it has been regularly serviced at the dealer almost all its life, so im hopful about its condition. Excited to see what you do with it. My goal is to do a little lift, all-terrains, and make it a family camping car / light overland setup.

    Yes sir! Welcome to the club! This is definitely my favorite car of yours probably for obvious reasons but I’m so stoked for you and I’m actually so excited to see how you turn this thing around and bring it back to life. You really got one of the best Subarus by far. Definitely very lucky.

    I remember dipping into the Green Bay Subaru dealership to sit in one of these L.L. Bean Six Cylinders. Wow. Same color too! Really interested in the engine work needed.

    1600$ is crazy, man. In Kazakhstan, I bought mine for 10000$ , also 3.0R, but 2006, for European market. And now they cost around 13000 - 15000$

    Nice ! No rust ! I’d like to see the underneath and door bottoms.. I just bought a 05 same colour, just the 2.5I limited with the sunroof. Maybe you can just get a used glass roof as a replacement from a junkyard .. that way you’ll have original glass .

    • @slushboxer
      @slushboxer  10 місяців тому +2

      A few of the suspension components have superficial surface rust, but the body and door bottoms are perfect. It definitely needs a lot of work but at least it isn’t rusty. I’ll have to look into the sunroof glass in the future, maybe I’ll be able to find a good replacement at the junkyard. Thanks for your comment :)

    Great car! I’ve been looking for a good/low mileage’08-‘09 3.0 myself for a while now.. it takes premium gas right?

    • @slushboxer
      @slushboxer  10 місяців тому

      These do take premium gas, but if you really want a 6 cylinder Subaru and that is the dealbreaker, you should consider the next generation up with the 3.6L since those run on 87
