Hey Guys, Just a quick FYI. So I'm getting asked a lot " why didn't you sort out all the rust on the underside, suspension components, radiator brackets etc etc " well this is only the first stage of restoration , in this episode the car is "restored" to a roadworthy condition so that I can enjoy it guilt free through the spring summer and autumn months but come winter it will be getting "restored" to showroom condition. I hope this answers most of your questions and puts your fears at rest. Oh and as for the barrage of " why did you cover up the fog lights" Its a Subaru rally heritage thing that started with the original Impreza back in 1993 on the world rally stages.
I love your attention to detail and would love to be able to afford to do the same on my forester xt someday. I would love to tear it down and address all of the underneath and powder coat everything. Great work as always.
This is something I wish I had the money for. A garage and a project car to rebuild. The feeling to finally drive the car you worked so hard to restore must be incredible.
I'd say I don't thats all that is needed mate. I think our maestro out there is truly passionate about restoring things to their original or better glory and takes enormous amounts of time to focus on the details. I know for sure, if I had the money and the donor car etc I still wouldn't be able to do the justice we get to see on the RRC channel, skills+passion+desire to do the right thing= RRC....
I restored two cars in a box measuring 5 by 8 meters. including welding and painting. this is an incredible feeling when the car is ready and you drive it for the first time
@Walter Bright in our country war :( because of tis I cannot plan anything. Before war started I was planned to build box and continue repair cars as hobby, but war destroyed all my plans. Hope it not lead to lose anyone and ends ASAP

As a car and restoration enthusiast, last night I found this wonderful work among the videos recommended by UA-cam, which I enjoyed from the first to the last minute. Great channel, I subscribed
@@RRCRestoration Where can I access the cheat-codes for fast forward assembly without cursing and skinned knuckles? I love my 2001 Legacy rolling restoration project, but every-time I get it apart for a simple maintenance task it turns into a week long can of carnivorous worms. Just replacing the handbrake mechanism I ended up buying parts in America and having them delivered to a mate in Texas who then posted them to me - six days rather than six weeks from Japan!! GREAT video, thanks.
LT, same here and I’ve just binge watched both sets of Impreza videos 😂 defo subscribed. Might even see one of these Impreza’s up at Knockhill or on the roads.👌🏻
This may be great video? I just got it in my feed and need to say. It's either a barn find in which we know who owns it and have a contact with them as a means to get legal possession. OR it's abandoned and legal possession is obtained by default through time elapsed with notices to remove or noone has done anything about it being where it was dumped, that an accepted legal process has relinquished their rights to it. . You need to make a distinction so all barn finds don't automatically get lumped into a grey area called abandoned as well?
I used to work as a mechanic for Subaru and I own a 2019 STI. I have always been a die hard fan for the older Subarus though, I have my own plans to build a hawkeye soon myself you just further convinced me to to it! You did a fantastic job restoring this Blob eye WRX. Thank you for saving this Subaru from a fate it didn't deserve... the sad part was it was over something as simple as turbo failure leading to a unnecessary part out. Hope to see the finished product soon great job and thank you for saving another piece of history!
I am so glad you rescued this car. All pre-2008 Subarus need to be treated with love and kindness as they are the last of the good years. I wish I had my 2003 again, it was such a beautiful car to drive.
As someone living in Colorado, USA, I see these all the time, but I forget just how awesome they really are. This video made me fall in love with them all over again.
🔧🚗 Oh, the dream of having a garage and a project car to restore is definitely something many of us can relate to! It's incredible to witness the transformation of an abandoned Subaru WRX into a stunning machine through the restoration process. The dedication, skills, and love poured into these projects are truly inspiring. I can only imagine the sense of accomplishment and joy that comes with finally driving the car you've worked so hard to rebuild. It's a testament to the beauty of automotive craftsmanship and the satisfaction of bringing something back to life. Keep up the amazing work! 💪🔥

Excellent restoration. Your attention to detail is first class, and the video very well made 👍🏻Looks like it was an excellent condition car to start with, can't believe it got broken for spares just because the turbo was shot.

I'm a sucker for anything and everything when it comes to restorations. From cars to watches, I can't get enough. I was recommended this video this morning and decided to click on it to see what it's all about. I have to say, it's *wonderful* to see a full car restoration in one video! Nothing against channels like Goonzquad, but this video has no filler....just wrenching on a car. REALLY good shit man!
Love your content, it’s so satisfying to watch as you meticulously restore things and keep a very organized work space (out slide of my skill set). I love the pace of your videos too, all too often channels similar to yours spend 3/4 of the video saying what they are going to do rather than actually doing it. You say what you’re doing as it’s getting done… very refreshing.

Loved every second of this resto! A WRX saved from the scrapheap, awesome 🤩 Love to have the balls to change my timing belt but 🐓 out every time.!!! Just genius 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
That's a gorgeous car. One of my favorites. Sparkplug story: I used to own a 2003 Ford Escape with a V6 engine in it. The sparkplugs had three on the top side of the engine and three on the bottom side of the engine. The top three were easy to replace. The bottom three were hidden behind the exhaust manifold which required it to be removed to access them. Needless to say, I replaced 3 sparkplugs instead of 1 when I did that job.
everything from camera angles, editing to pace of car upgrade is so perfect! showing the car being built w/o spending too long or not showing enough of it is hard! and you are nailing it! aswell as shooting other videos for more detailed parts of the build, im in love!

2008 Chevy Uplander.. Remove coil packs.. remove engine mount.. strap engine and move it forward as far as it can go.. then there is just barely enough room to reach in and get the three rear plugs on the 3.9l v6 ! Of course if have a lift it's pretty easy to get at them from below apparently.. Cheer's !!
This is fun to watch - more of a reassembly than traditional restoration. It always stuns me how cars in that part of the world rust so quickly. That would be unheard of in my corner of the US, even after 30 or 40 years.
Funny last time I watched one of your videos you restored a white Scooby and now a few years later this one was recommended in my feed, your channel has grown, congratz. You've got a new sub, respect from Edinburgh👍🏾.
Great job on restoring that poor car to its glory. It great to see that you had the drive to fix that car not like the previous owner. I enjoy seeing the car on the road then in a barn or storage.
First time viewer. This was awesome to watch! Restoring as many of the OEM parts as possible is so smart! Guaranteed the fitment to be spot on. I try to do the same thing with as many projects as possible (cars, rebuilding furniture, ect). Great video! Much love from Charlotte, NC!

That’s an incredible amount of work and time you have put into making this restoration, and then there’s the video and editing as well, you really are extremely good doing this and I appreciate every video you make. I’d love to follow in your footsteps but having seen the payments for the Snap on torque wrench, I’ll have to just enjoy your work instead 😁😁.
Thank you so much for that kind comment it really does mean a lot :)
You're a master of your craft. I bet you had a huge feeling of accomplishment on that first drive. Well done, sir!
I hate to be a downer, but you put the steering wheel on the wrong side mate.
Lol
Eine Freude einem Kfz Meister bei der Reparatur zusehen zu können, spitze Instandsetzung.
no excessive commenting no over hyped personality, very nice cozy video to watch.
She looks beautiful! It's always good seeing cars like these getting restored to their former glory and running again, saved from potentially being sent to the scrap heap! Well done, great video, and keep up the awesome work!
Love the video and your editing style. Great work, and great to see a beautiful WRX back on the streets where it belongs. 👍😊
I absolutely love seeing old cars being brought back to life and rescued.
Great video. You didn't show how you fixed the glass. Very impressed how you were lucky to find an interior, with every seat.
You were fortunate.
Thanks for taking us on the ride.
If you're in the UK, I have 1999 celica, and I am happy to give it to you for your channel.
제가 꼭 해보고 싶던 부품이나 업그레이드 셀프로하는 영상 보여 주셔서 감사합니다 대리만족 확실히 했습니다 앞으로도 더 많은 영상 부탁드립니다^^❤
you know much respect i give him i was an apprentice and they never used torque sticks and i was like bruh u guys gonna warp them rotors but i did my job correctly so im happy im proud of this guy has all my respewct
Dam the time frame you create these video over is crazy, when i see the links to parts of the car you restore are over 2 years old I wonder just how much time you put into these. Great work!
Haha. I just love your quirky one liners. Even without the sounds of music, it doesn't make it boring at all watching you restore. 😂
something an old subaru head taught me , spark socket-short ext-uni joint- long extension-ratchet . makes plugs a dream
Thanks, you’re the first channel and possibly the last I have ever donated to, I really appreciate your content thanks again and hope to see a lot more in future. The appreciation is beyond words. You have taught me a ton, cheers😊 wish I could give you more then I have cheers mate
Ben from Australia
Wow Thank you so much for your generosity Ben, It really does mean the world to me and helps keep the restorations coming :)
I really appreciated the My Summer Car reference. I did not see anyone else comment on it and thought that's a shame as it deserves more recognition.
That would be unheard of in my corner of the US, even after 30 or 40 years.
it's because of all the salt we use for our roads duing the wintertimes. All japanese cars rust like hell because of it
Polis car Philippines 🇵🇭 🚨🚨🖲
I was so pleased to see the coilovers go. I've owned one set in my life and regretted every mile of it.
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful rebuild and restoration. So nice. 👍
10/10 would watch again
Nothing more satisfying than seeing the old bits come off and the newly restored bits going back on
Awesome video mate!
Funny last time I watched one of your videos you restored a white Scooby and now a few years later this one was recommended in my feed, your channel has grown, congratz. You've got a new sub, respect from Edinburgh👍🏾.
man your extremely lucky to have one this clean, take care of it, im stuck welding in patches of floorboard
Great job on restoring that poor car to its glory. It great to see that you had the drive to fix that car not like the previous owner. I enjoy seeing the car on the road then in a barn or storage.
I always loved the purring sound of the imprezas exhaust. Good job!
Thank you for not putting music over it, made me able to listen to my own
The way you picked up and threw on that wheel at the beginning of the video. Strong as hell lol.
You saved that car!!! Great work. Textbook perfect at every step.
As someone who hopes to own a Subaru one day this was an awesome video great job restoring such an iconic car keep it up 👍
You know when someone has a passion when they use a torque wrench on the seat mounting bolts
Awesome resto 👍

Saw that censor haha!
Thank you for the vid btw. One of my favorite cars ever. You've done a great service to car-kind. One day these will all be gone but hopefully a few will outlive me.
