You are the only crochet teacher that I listen to on UA-cam. Believe me, I’ve tried to learn various crochet stitches from other teachers - I must say that you are the BEST! I’ve praised you on my Facebook. You taught me how to crochet every stitch since the Fall of 2018. May I send you some pictures?
I love your tutorials! 😍 You don’t go too quickly and you explain every step so clearly that it is easy, even for beginners. Whenever someone asks me for a good crochet tutorial I refer them to Bella Coco. 🙂❤️
I love all your video tutorials, they're all very clear and and easy to understand. I tried the star stitch watching other videos and they all differ on how the last stitch is worked, I followed your instructions, managed to crochet the star stitch but still having great difficulty with the first and last stitches which has to do with my bad workmanship and not knowing where to place the hook. I shall keep trying...
Hi Sarah, I absolutely love your videos..they are by far the best tutorials on UA-cam & have really helped my crochet obsession! I'm desperate to make a 'Willow square' I think they look so beautiful! I struggle to follow patterns so would love a tutorial for it if possible please! Thank you 😁 x
It's normal for the stitch to be a little bumpy at the sides, but I would double check that you're working the pattern correctly 😊 Once you've finished you can work a simple edging of double crochet stitches (UK term) which will make the whole thing look neater and more even.
Hi, I have tried soooo many different times to learn this stitch. I love your tutorials, u have taught me bunches, but I can NOT seem to get the end stitches correct. Please help. Could u do another video closely concentrating on the ends?? PLEASE :)
This tutorial is perfect! I love this stitch and you're so easy to follow along with. Does this stitch work going round a corner like a border? I'm making a blanket centre outwards and would love to use this but not sure if it would work or not 🤔
Thank you, I'm glad you like it! 😊 If you made a base round of double crochet stitches (UK terms) around your blanket you could certainly have a go at working the star stitch, however I think it may cause the border to bunch up slightly due to the way it's worked. I do have a blog post outlining some of my favourite crochet borders that could give you some inspiration on what stitch to use instead: bellacococrochet.com/my-favourite-crochet-borders/
could you please do some tutorials on baby clothes, maybe a baby cardigan? I find it very difficult to follow written patterns but your videos make everything seem to be so easy! Thanks X
Hi Sarah thanks for your tutorial in fact all of them are great with this star stitch I find as I progress through my rows my square gets skinner I have no idea what is causing this any suggestions? Cheers
Hi Bella, love your tutorials! Especially as a leftie new to crocheting. I'm stuck on exactly where to insert the hook when I turn my work to start row 2. I don't know how to make sure I'm picking up the correct stitch. Do you have any advice on this? Many thanks in advance!
Thank you, I'm glad you like them! 😊 I would recommend using a stitch marker to help you - at the end of row one, as you complete your final stitch, you can pop a stitch marker through the top. Then when you chain one and turn, it should be easy to see where you need to insert your hook.
Hi Sarah-Jayne. Love your videos! I'm struggling with how to attach the stem at the end though :( I've muddled through but very badly! Could you give more detailed instructions as to how to darn/sew onto pieces of work. Thanks :) xx
I don't think star stitch would work on a border due to the way the first star gathers together the chain stitches. I do have a blog post with some other great border ideas here though: bellacococrochet.com/my-favourite-crochet-borders/ 😊
Hi Sarah! Could u please share how to make Rustic Lace Square,,kinda cute, I only find the diagram, hard for me to understand coz I'm beginner,,and ur tutorial easy to follow and clear..and seems like no one make tutorial, but so many people posting their Rustic Lace Square in Instagrams,blogs... Please..make tutorial...thank U,,glad to hear good news from u..
You actually did that half double crochet in a stitch you'd already used. I watched that very closely then rewatched it two more times to make sure I was not mistaken. Was your chain count incorrect?
It's hard to give an exact figure as it will all depend on the yarn and hook you are using as well as your own personal tension. The best way would be to make a small swatch such as a chain of 15, work a few rows and then measure it so you can work out how many to chain for a larger blanket 😊
I have done this stitch very carefully and re-watched your video many times. Is it correct that one edge looks very "full" where the other edge has "holes"in it?
Is there a three stitch star stitch?I have old crochet book and I have to pull thro 3loops. Next row I have to slip stitch and yet it says I have to pull thro 3stitches.Can you help?
Not all crochet stitches work up with perfectly straight edges; you can simply add a round of double crochet stitches (UK terms) once you have finished to help it look nice and neat 😊
Crochet hooks at Micheal's are only like 2 or 3 dollars, and about 6 or 10 dollars for a set of 3.25mm-6mm usually. A Rainbow Loom hook would work but I would move to metal, wood, or plastic crochet hooks. :)

You’re welcome 😊
Love this. I would love to see a tutorial on the basket weave stitch.
I love this look and am using a pretty variegated yarn but one end is definitely going crooked! Looking at the front it’s the left side.

I love this. One question how would you join the ends as if you were going to create a headband xx

This comment was meant to go onto the daisy bookmark video. Sorry!
Can you crochet star stitch around corners (for a square baby blanket)?
I don't think star stitch would work on a border due to the way the first star gathers together the chain stitches. I do have a blog post with some other great border ideas here though: bellacococrochet.com/my-favourite-crochet-borders/ 😊

I wanted to see if you can do a tutorial on the corner to corner afghan and a new blanket.
Amber Diggs I already have a tutorial for the C2C blanket x

I love this color. what's the name of the yarn please??
JeffenyG it's stylecraft special dk in aspen
Karen Maddox thank you so much.
You use dc across the top of the stars but I’ve seen half treble used also.
Is there a right or wrong or just personal preference?
There's no right or wrong way, it's just personal preference. You can try both and see which you prefer 🙂
can u have written instructions in the description or on a website
I’m having a hard time keeping my edges straight when I attempt this stick. Any help would be appreciated.
Not all crochet stitches work up with perfectly straight edges; you can simply add a round of double crochet stitches (UK terms) once you have finished to help it look nice and neat 😊
So sorry but they are not double crochet stitch in every little hole in the 2° row.. Looks like a single crochet every time. i'm I right ? thank you.
dont want to show off but... i'm a begginner and i did it right for the first time ;0 am i a pro now?
How can you work 2 chains below the first chain when you only chained 2? Makes no sense at all.
Sorry, you should be chaining 3 at the beginning of the third row, and working into the second and third 😊
can you use rainbow loom hook
Crochet hooks at Micheal's are only like 2 or 3 dollars, and about 6 or 10 dollars for a set of 3.25mm-6mm usually. A Rainbow Loom hook would work but I would move to metal, wood, or plastic crochet hooks. :)
SORRY I DIDNT GET THAT
Really good but going far too quickly at the end of the first row and beyond. Pity
DO NOT AND I REPEAT DON NOT FOLLOW THIS WOMAN. SHE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TOO STAR STITCH RIGHT.
