    You should be able to go into the menu and change the display setting to show the gas gauge. I have a 2016 Diavel and I have my screen set to show the gas gauge.

      I really wanted a totally blacked out Diavel when I bought it, but…..it really numbs all the great body styling the bike offers. Good call on the iceberg white 👍

    $1100 for tyres, bloody hell. I'm in the UK and we are always ripped of big time and I bought a set of rosso 3s last month for around £500 for my diavel.
    Desmo service here is again around £500-600
    However, great review Thankyou.

      I was going to say the same thing. I changed both my tires on my XDiavel and about £500 ish too and the bloke came to me in his van so I didn't even have to go anywhere to get it done. Haven't had my desmo service yet though.

      In Singapore, it’s much cheaper. $600 plus Singapore dollars for front & back tyres. Unfortunately only Pirelli’s available. I wanted to try the Michelin but were too expensive & most dealers don’t carry them.

    Would you say it's a decent motorcycle for commuting downtown or do you need to get on emptier roads outside the city to really enjoy it?

    • @twowheeledwarrior
      @twowheeledwarrior  2 роки тому +1

      in city riding , I’ve noticed it seems to run hot at lower speeds . Not OVER heating but the fans keep kicking on a lot . And you can definitely feel the heat coming from that motor. As fun as it is to rip from light to light , I’d say more open road .

      @@bonsalpepperful at those temps, I tend to ride very conservative. The tires are incredibly sticky , but …. Feeling how hard this bike pulls on dry pavement, there ain’t no way I’m testing its limits on cool and wet tires . I’ve unfortunately have been caught in cool rainy conditions, put it in Urban mode, and never gave me any indication of a loss of traction . I’m sure it handles far beyond what I’d push it too on cool or wet days . Oh… it seems to run “ smoother “ on warm days too. Sorry for the long response, lol

    • @twowheeledwarrior
      @twowheeledwarrior  2 місяці тому

      In constant stop and go , probably not. Unless you enjoy hammering the throttle from street light to streetlight to get that rush … at lower speeds you’ll get some vibration from the motor, almost like that of a Harley( which it doesn’t at higher speeds)It just doesn’t like anything below 60 km /37 mph I find. Also , when I’ve been stuck in traffic on a hot day, the bike gets HOT ! You’ll hear that fan running non stop. Hope that helps

    • @theblackspotguild
      @theblackspotguild Рік тому

      I was going to ask the same. I had the same generation diavel. Brakes, tires, and oil costs the same as any other bike. $400 for tires, $40 for oil, $60 for brakes.

  • @rufus1346

    I have owned a few different makes of bike and I can tell you my XDiavel is a very expensive bike just to keep running. If money is a factor in your decision making bear in mind Ducati's are like having a girlfriend with very expensive taste. Nothing Ducati do comes cheap. You pay for class but if you can afford it they are so much fun to ride, very much like a classy girlfriend.

      Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Looks are subjective, I love the look of this bike no matter what part of it I'm looking at. I always thought if Batman was off looking at bikes the 1198 Diavel would catch his eye.

      @@rufus1346 this is chinese approach. if is something ugly, i don't want to see it and i will focus to anything else. left sides of many motorcycles are really ugly. ducati, small hd's, honda rebel... if you want or don't, compare it do really good looking motorcycles. indians, big hd's, triumphs, suzuki's bmw's... i am not batman, few years ago diavel catched my eye too. but few months ago i decided for rocket 3. due to comfort and design.

      @@ichbinmartin As I said taste is subjective. You call big HD's and Indians really good looking and I think they are ugly and the rest of your list doesn't make sense, as there are many kinds of triumph, Suzuki's and BMW's. Which models do you find attractive.
      By the way most people I haven talked to about the new Rocket think it was based off of the Diavel. Odd that you think one is ugly and the other is he one you decided to buy.
      I also own two Rockets, an old and new one and an XDiavel. I traded in the Diavel I had when the XDiavel came out, bought that on brand new. When I bought my second hand triple black Rocket a few months ago I kept the old one. I'll never sell my 2004 Rocket. I have customised just about everything on it, I have made it mine.

      I also just got myself the new style Rocket, triple black one, a few months ago. I kept my old 2004 Rocket too, so now I have the set.
      I traded in my old Diavel in for the XDiavel when it came out so I also own a Ducati. I would have kept the old one if I could have afforded it at the time. I still miss it.
