Something that you forgot to mention about “Darth Vader,” is that in story mode, the cutscene changes slightly depending on who won. The ultimate outcome is still the same, but as a gremlin that liked evil things because everybody else liked good things, it gave me immense satisfaction to have that cutscene play when I was a kid. Very very good level.
yes, I thought I saw a long version of the cutscene where I thought I saw anakin's lightsaber turn red, and then obi-wan attacks and beats him. But after that, I kept seeing the part where obi-wan attacks and only that, so I thought that longer part was some weird mandela effect shit that I had dreamed up of
Also for this level in one player free play. if you switch your character to a non jedi/sith then switch to the other character, the now non jedi/sith cpu will automatically switch to a jedi/sith character (preventing any cheese)
It's always funny to think about how a surprising amount of people actually experienced Revenge of the Sith in this game _before_ the movie, since the game came out first. That's why there's a level based on a deleted scene, because it wasn't deleted at the time they were making levels. Technically, Revenge of the Sith is just a live action adaptation of Lego Star Wars TCS.
It’s probably the reason none of the clone were given their colours (the gave was based on the shitty animatics where all clones were the same shiny in a T pose)
So far I've literally said out loud to every ranking "I loved that level". Thats just proof that despite some levels being trash, the entire game is a banger.
Mos Eisley was easily my most played level growing up. It was GTA before me and my friend even knew what GTA was. Spending hours driving, shooting stormtroopers, beating up people and jawas, driving to the secret base or the cantina. Half the time we didn’t even finish the level, but it was so much fun.
I just wanna point out the use of hearts in bosses. Because its amazing. Palpatine with two giant rows of hearts, anakin and obi wan duelling with one giant row of hearts... and then there's the imperial spy. Who has 4 hearts, just like any other character in the world, despite being a boss, he only has 4 hearts. Which i find to be kinda brilliant
Ironically enough, Dooku’s boss fight in Skywalker Saga was one of the coolest imo. Wasn’t expecting it to be as fun as it was, with the lights going out.
I'm afraid you forgot to mention the actual best optionally playable character in the game, which is, of course, Bespin Guard. For some reason they just have entirely unique animations for everything they do. Walking, dodging, double jumping, riding vehicles (I think their melee animation is also unique), no matter what, no other character in the game does it like bespin guard! And while there are 384 playable characters in the skywalker saga, they just didn't bring back bespin guard, for no reason....
I was actually kinda dissapointed with the character selection from TSS. There is plenty of great characters, but theres some that absolutely should have been included. I think the most out-there characters were Mama Hutt and Willrow Hood
I can see where you’re coming from, but look on the bright side! (If this is one for you, I dunno.) They brought back Rebel Friend! I thought for sure that they would forget him, but they remembered!
My favorite memory of this game is when we convinced our dad to try it out in Free Play mode. At one point, my older brother (who was playing with my dad) changed into Jar-Jar Binks and my dad was filled with such primordial rage at the sight of him that he instantly tried to kill him.
One detail missed in Darth Vader is that the longer the duel goes on, the ground will slowly break and sink into the lava and I believe eventually you'd have nowhere to stand and just sink as well, prompting a checkpoint reload. Small but fun detail
"Darth Vader" on free play is the level all of us went when we couldn't play coop multiplayer with someone... How kit Fisco fighting Jango fett on leave is Childhood GOLD
I've never been more surprised by anything in my life as much as learning that there are people out there who actually like this level. I seriously don't understand why, it's always been my least favorite in the game, and my brother's
A really fun detail of the rescue princess mission is that if you give both Luke and Han helmets no-one will attack you until you either A: attack someone else or B: build something.
The fact that you can play as Anakin fighting Obi-Wan in the Darth Vader level and the ending cutscene shows anakin slapping him around a little before obi-wan dismembers him is top notch attention to player agency
Battle Over Coruscant is probably the level I played most as a kid, since it's a great stud grinder (if you shoot all the seperatist ships down it gets you a shit ton of studs really fast). So if you want an easier way to afford the Red Bricks stud multipliers then that's the tip I would give.
Getting 100k studs on this level was my greatest discovery. Normally, I didn't like ship levels, but this one felt the best. Also, if you unlock the droid trifighter, it is the most powerful, best sounding, satisfying ship in the entire game. Glad to see someone else found this level as memorable as me.
Another good thing about the second Lego city level is that there is actually a little more than the required amount of studs to pass. I didn’t notice this until very recently.
@@funnyvideoguy3216 yes, roughly 130 more or so from my counting as insurance, the other one tends to be 70-90 short frequently so I wonder if the values between each action is randomized and in the rounding of the math it loses that much in the division - someone would know better than me
24:48 the Battle of Yavin is actually an in-universe epoch introduced by an Ithorian named Gammit Chond quite late into the timeline. There are many others, including the founding of the Empire (19 BBY), the Colonization of Lothal (~3277 BBY), and the Hosnian Reckoning (~7977 BBY). The Standardized dating system was based off of Coruscant’s revolution cycle, and year 0 is said to be the day where the modern Republic was founded, which is sometime around 1000 BBY; everything before that is considered part of the “Old Republic” Era, which has largely been a forgotten dark age.
so why wouldnt they make everything before 0 the old republic, and everything AFTER 0 the current republic? and then after 1,000 the new republic? its like if the calendars we used in the real world decided that instead of the year 2022, it was the year 22 because every thousand years we have a different technological era or whatever. calling the unit "BBY (before battle of yavin" is fully for the audience and really, in universe, doesnt make any logical in-world sense. why dont we just make a new calendar for the real world and the years are called "Before 9/11" and "Post 9/11"
16:08 Lego Star Wars 1 came out before Episode 3 did, so it adapted a ton of cut content, because the devs were basically given a bunch of beta footage. (As stated with the clones in front of the temple) It can be assumed it was planned to be a much large section of the movie.
I’ve never been so happy that someone agreed with me about the complete frustration and pure fury I felt when playing Gunship Calvary. The reviews of those worst five on the list gave me flashbacks to 10-year old memories I’d hoped would stay forgotten.
Gunship cavalry is actually worse with 2 people too, because then you gotta make sure you both go the same speed on the same path, long story short, my mom and I argued a lot over that stage.
31:25 I remember that whenever I played this level with my sister she kept dying on purpose just to laugh at the dying cutscene while I was actually trying to pass the level, heh fun times.
Whoever is running the Lego company really knows what they’re doing. The games and movies are always high quality it’s astounding. It’s one of the few children’s companies that really seem to care about their product
something that wasn't mentioned was that, on Dagobah, you could fly infinitely as Boba Fett in certain parts because you could glitch on top of the ceiling "barrier" and the game would think you were on the ground, therefore never reducing your jetpack fuel
In Legends, IG-88 actually took control of the Death Star during the Endor battle, and after the battle when he assumed the Empire would win, he was going to send out a signal that would make all droids revolt against organics, and then he'd use the Death Star to wipe out all organic life. So, in the Death Star 2 Level, the lightning could actually be IG-88 defending the Death Star if you wanted.
I can't even properly express how happy I am that Mos Eisley Spaceport made it so high on the list. It's honestly the most fun you can have in a level and it epitomizes everything great about this game.
Remember that the first game came out at the same time as Revenge of the Sith and was working off an earlier version of the movie, so Ruin of the Jedi probably made more sense as a level when the scene with the disguised clones wasn't cut. For similar reasons the senate building being playable in arcade mode wouldn't mean the area was available in the original game, as it didn't have an arcade mode and likely didn't have those assets either.
I love how because Mace Windu's bald, his Lego character has that hole on top of his head, on top of which you're supposed to add hair or hats. It's a subtle but hilariously creative joke.
That's actually how bald Lego characters are supposed to look. But there have been some notable exceptions like Alfred Pennyworth (sometimes) and Homer Simpson.
Fun Fact: ‘Ruin of the Jedi’ used a more somber version of Leia’s theme, accompanied with some ambient environmental sounds, in the original Lego Star Wars. This was later changed to something more generic and dungeon like in The Complete Saga. ...You can also play as a mouse droid in the GBA version of Lego Star Wars 2
The track in TCS is from the Revenge Of The Sith soundtrack, which hadn’t been officially released at the time of the first LEGO Star Wars, which is why that game used music from the original trilogy.
While playing the Complete Saga I noticed something. The levels from Lego Star Wars 2 (Episodes 4-6) are for the most part double the length of the levels featured in Lego Star Wars 1 (The prequels). I also never noticed how Levels from Episodes 4-6 only have one type of vehicle gameplay style while Episodes 1-3 had unique gimmicks like the Pod Race and the Autoscroller as the first level of Episode 3.
I was going through Skywalker Saga and found the same thing. The prequels only have 3 normal levels, while also having 5 vehicle levels (including the unique podracing level), and 7 boss levels (including the colosseum, and the levels where you have to do some stuff before the actual fight). Meanwhile, the original trilogy has only 3 bossfight levels (Vader and Palpatine), and then 4 vehicle levels, and 8 normal levels. I mean, i guess it obviously makes sense to have more boss levels in the prequels, because of how many big lightsaber duels there are. but the original couldve at least gotten a lot more vehicle levels.
Schaffrillas' inability to survive the Gunship Calvary level proves that he would be truly overwhelmed with fury in the jetpack TNT section of the Boom Town level in LittleBigPlanet
@@izzik2781 True facts! I'm glad my reference did not fall on deaf ears 😁 But for real tho, I was referencing the bombs and desert climate of the two levels
There’s a trend of vehicle levels being absolute garbage in these games and I completely agree with your early rankings. Little 7 year old me struggled with almost every single one of those 😔
13:20 Fun fact about the naboo level you can get 9/10 minikits because you can jump into the zone where you'd need the small characher to crawl. The only one you need to go back for is the one that needs a blaster.
This was such a fun game from my childhood and I actually went back to replay it for the first time in over a decade very recently. Glad to see such an in-depth video of it!
You can tell that the Grievous in his boss fight was inspired by Genndy Tartakovzky's original 2003 Grievous. (which if you haven't seen, I totally recommend)
One of the funniest things I ever witnessed as a kid was doing Death Star Attack in free play with Tractor Beam activated and getting to the trench run and Vader is just rolling around uselessly behind you 😂
yeah, it's really nice, but my opinion changed slightly after I had to replay it multiple times in a row to complete it, and fail to do so in my new playthrough (I only played one save as a kid, and never got to 100% till teenage years)
What a brilliant list pointing out all the reasons why I loved these games as a kid. Love your content and really hope you cover the levels in the newest game. :)
God i love when Schaff and Patrick talk about Star Wars together, their dynamic is so good it reminded me of when my brother and i played Lego Star Wars on the PS2
I disagree about the Hoth battle, its honestly one of my favorites and it was so fun to speed run. The satisfaction of taking down an AT-AT was immeasurable.
I remember it being rather tedious (I couldn’t even get past the first area for DAYS), but once I figured it out it definitely became one of my favorite vehicle levels.
I completely agree. I found it frustrating the first time or two, but I consistently find it now to be super fun to revisit. The Power Brick is probably my favorite, having to drag that bomb through the cave with all kinds of shit being thrown at you is one of the most memorable moments I can recall.
The stoplight in Bounty Hunter Pursuit is treated like an actual stoplight for the AI. Two ships moving a billboard go by and if you destroy it you get the Minikit
I love how the Skywalker Saga recaptured the magic of the Complete Saga by having the Speeder Bike level still be one of the worst. Also even though the scout troopers turning around in TCS was annoying, at least in that game they actually spawned consistently
I've been having a blast with TCS honestly. Skywalker Saga is definitely more polished and grand, but I think I prefer the relaxed tone of the original. It's a game I play if I just wanna have some simple fun without having to invest a lot of energy
When I was a wee lad I used to play this game with my cousin all the time, we'd play each other's saves and had almost everything unlocked. Only thing stopping us was Hoth Battle. My cousin somehow managed to complete it once and I remember bringing my memory card to his place to try and pass it on mine because this was the only level I couldn't beat and it was blocking me from the rest of the fifth movie. Turns out he did it on his by pure luck and had no idea how to replicate it

I'm sorry that I'm asking this everywhere but I genuinely have no idea what it is and I even tried Shazam...and it didn't work.
R.I.P Patrick. You’ll be missed…
Imagine someone watching his little brother Tim playing some goofy ahh LEGO game only to get Revenge of the Sith spoiled lol
Yeah. There were multiple deleted scenes that made their way into the game.
It’s probably the reason none of the clone were given their colours (the gave was based on the shitty animatics where all clones were the same shiny in a T pose)
So far I've literally said out loud to every ranking "I loved that level". Thats just proof that despite some levels being trash, the entire game is a banger.
Hmm, yes. Despite not having touched this game once, I can't wait to watch a breakdown of every single level! 🤩

It's a lot of fun, especially with a friend or loved one. Definitely worth a playthrough if you like Star Wars

Same here, including the "not always happy childhood" :)
Wasn’t expecting it to be as fun as it was, with the lights going out.

this video is so sad now in hindsight. rest in peace patrick.
They at least appear as npcs in cloud city
@@melissahenderlight2588 Which makes it even worse don't you think? I mean... they're RIGHT THERE! Just let me play them...

One detail missed in Darth Vader is that the longer the duel goes on, the ground will slowly break and sink into the lava and I believe eventually you'd have nowhere to stand and just sink as well, prompting a checkpoint reload. Small but fun detail
Correct, both players just sink into lava and the section restarts regardless of each's health

Day 8 of asking Schaffrillas to talk about Sid the Sloth in Encanto

No matter the difference in quality of the levels, I think we can all agree that this game was a timeless staple of our childhood
Another good thing about the second Lego city level is that there is actually a little more than the required amount of studs to pass. I didn’t notice this until very recently.

Rest in piece Patrick…
And this is why you don't complain about stuff you don't know about in unrelated videos.
ua-cam.com/video/2Lj5w2c1o4o/v-deo.html just watch this video it explains it.

Ayy you're here. One piece bros
Really? I mean I love a lot of the games, but a ton of them are buggy as sin, and Skywalker Saga is the only graphically impressive one.
@@thevioletbee5879 i think Complete Saga is a great looking game,
@@joaonitro5149 I mean I love it to death, but compared to the games of its time, it’s still pretty janky.
something that wasn't mentioned was that, on Dagobah, you could fly infinitely as Boba Fett in certain parts because you could glitch on top of the ceiling "barrier" and the game would think you were on the ground, therefore never reducing your jetpack fuel
Have I ever played this game in my life?
No
But am I going to watch this entire 1 hour 14 minute 25 second video?
Absolutely yes
I can't even properly express how happy I am that Mos Eisley Spaceport made it so high on the list. It's honestly the most fun you can have in a level and it epitomizes everything great about this game.
Agreed Mos Eisley Spaceport is definitely one of the most replayable levels in the game, it's always fun to explore in both Free Play and Story Mode.
Honestly the level length is probably connected with how little time they had on it.
