Here was this lanky 6'9 Russian dude with a 7'4 wingspan, crazy athleticism, amazing defensive abilities, would steal from point guards and block centers, dunk on you, knock down a decently reliable mid range and 3 pointer, fill up the stat sheet, worked hard, and was humble. He was definitely a unique player, and I even got his jersey and modeled my own play style off him. As a result of him being my fav player, I was also a huge Jazz fan. I remember all of these events in this video, the heart breaking moments losing to the Lakers and the Spurs, the bright moments beating the Rockets and the Warriors (same series that Baron Davis dunked on AK, lol- although AK had an insane amount of blocks that series)!. The trades and acquisitions, the rough patches with Coach Sloan, etc. It was definitely a very interesting stretch of years, lots of fun memories and exciting nail biting games. Man I have to give credit to the Jazz for always somehow coming back to become a consistent playoff team. They've had so many eras it's a shame they did not win a ring up to this point, but hey they have a new team to try again.
That team with Raul López sane ( already signed with 2 ACL surgeries )had fought for finals. Very beautiful and promising team. Raul Lopez, Radja Bell, Kirilenko, Okur, Boozer ( Harpring as 6th man and Mo Williams as 2nd PG ) That team was a solid team for a decade and had fought for Finals and some title
man AK47 was one of my favorite players. I miss watching players like him. I also tried drafting him to everyone of my fantasy teams cause that man filled up all stat categories

He started complaining about his contract during a time when he was not only injured, but the Jazz were winning with his backup, Paul Millsap, putting up numbers. That was the 08-09 season, and the team actually faltered after he came back. Boozer ended up choosing to opt into the final year of his contract, and with Millsap already making starter money, along with several other players on large contracts, the team started to feel the crunch. Starter Ronnie Brewer was traded away to save money, which made Williams unhappy. The 2010 offseason saw the real changes - Boozer, Kyle Korver and Wesley Mathews all signed elsewhere, as the team looked to save money, though they did trade for Al Jefferson to help make up for the loss of Boozer and the injured Mehmet Okur. They also added Gordon Hayward in the draft that year, but it would be years before he would become an all-star caliber player. Despite the changes, the team was winning, until at some point a rift developed in the locker room and the team started losing. That precluded Jerry Sloan's retirement, Deron Williams being traded and Andrei Kirilenko leaving to play in Russia.

Nah, he was in tears in front of reporters, whining he wasn't used enough and it was the year before. I think. That hurt him with his teammates and other people in the league. ALSO, that BD poster dunk just evens out the wonderful night he held Carmelo to 4-23 shooting and blocked him like, 6 times. Carmelo almost cried in the 4th quarter of that game, it was great lol.
Besides Boozer and D-Will,they had a great coach in Jerry Sloan,a stretch 5 Mehmet Okur who made an all-star team. Kirilenko was one of a kind type of player and they always had 3-4 solid role players.
I don't think age had anything to do with it. Boozer had multiple good seasons in Chicago after he left Utah. They just couldn't put it all together and let's be honest the Western Conference was really good. SAS, LAL, DAL, HOU, DEN, PHO, etc.
Karl Malone and Stockton had great careers under jerry Sloan.. things were goin good for boozer and Williams as well. They benefited from the plays and system that Sloan, Stockton, and Malone built.. once Williams and Sloan couldn’t get along and Sloan got fired that’s when boozer and Williams decline began. They were never the same after that.
I've been a lifelong Jazz fan. I remember those teams and remember AK-47 being my favorite player as a kid. D-Will and Coach Sloan have since made amends if anyone is interested. But this current Jazz team with Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert is a lot more exciting than those Jazz teams ever were.

I know right. LOW be having the best background music.
It’s call “sandstorm”
What about the Denver Nuggets team with Melo, JR, and Kmart?
Aldridge1.0 coach neva preached defense that’s why
@@jjstyles8245 that was mostly Carmelo's fault for not carin of defense
how you forget nene and billups...smdh..and birdman and kleiza
Yooooo I was the biggest deron Williams fan boy.... LOOOOOL smdh son!!
Jerry Sloan is one of the greatest coaches in the NBA NOT to win a championship. Who are others?
Rick Adelman? Don Nelson? Not sure bout Don if he won 1 though.
George Karl and Larry bird
Cotton Fritzsimmons coached 21 years no NBA championship
AK-47 is actually one of my fav players even if he may have had is dignity stolen by baron davis
that dunk really changed his career..never the same again
Boozer just got old. Deron fell off hard
Cameron Johnson no he got poisoned by the spray on hair 😂
I don't think age had anything to do with it. Boozer had multiple good seasons in Chicago after he left Utah. They just couldn't put it all together and let's be honest the Western Conference was really good. SAS, LAL, DAL, HOU, DEN, PHO, etc.
@@m.A.A.dGanja420 they put it together! Problem with Utah was they didn't have any players to defend the paint
What happened to off-top
Karl Malone and Stockton had great careers under jerry Sloan.. things were goin good for boozer and Williams as well. They benefited from the plays and system that Sloan, Stockton, and Malone built.. once Williams and Sloan couldn’t get along and Sloan got fired that’s when boozer and Williams decline began. They were never the same after that.
That was a great video 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I've been a lifelong Jazz fan. I remember those teams and remember AK-47 being my favorite player as a kid. D-Will and Coach Sloan have since made amends if anyone is interested. But this current Jazz team with Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert is a lot more exciting than those Jazz teams ever were.
This team and the 2010 lakers should be on 2k20 fr tho
