This song is exactly how I feel about you, Miss Bisscute 🌹🌺🌹🌸🌹🌺🌹
I love it when you get so emotional with the videos 😢❤
I'm 47 and the infamous "star in somebody else's sky" line still breaks my heart 30yrs after the song first came out.
Same here ,respect
Same on all counts (okay, I'm 49 but still...)
Exactly the same 47, and brings me to tears every time I hear it. I love these reaction videos.
That like will never not hit different for a lot of us 🥺
...no doubt. ...at 40 myself, ..and I still get torn up by the vulnerability, loss, and pain that those words hold.
The self inflicted torture of listening to this version hundreds and hundreds of times over the last 30+ years is something that I can not, nor do I ever want to, escape from.
"And now my bitter hands cradle broken glass of what was everything..." One of my favorite lyrics ever written.
Honestly, these lyrics are like a gift from the heavens. It truly amazes me how a person can peel back all the layers of their emotions, and then take that and put pen to paper so eloquently. One of the most beautiful songs ever written in my opinion.
Mine, too..😢
"We belong together," was a live ad-lib that Eddie was feeling in the moment. That phrase is not in the studio version. I believe this particular live performance really evokes more emotion than the original, because we can see his facial expressions and the breaking of his voice. It still brings me to tears because I can relate to his pain but could never put it into words so eloquently as he does.
Easily the best live performance of a song ever you can hear the emotion in his voice it’s so authentic so beautiful gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it
I'm not sure if you are aware but after the passing of Chris Cornell, a very close friend of Eddie, he performed Black at the tribute concert for Chris. Eddie ad-libs again at the end and it's the most heart breaking thing I've ever seen on stage. Eddie had all he could do to finish the song with the help of the crowd. If there's anything worse than loosing a girl, it's losing a best friend. A brother. You need to see it to understand his pain and appreciate it. When he cries "come back, come back", I just lose it. Amazing...
ua-cam.com/video/CJZS2mlQX1U/v-deo.html
Sounds creepy like a stalker 😆. We belong together even if you don't realize it.
I've always wondered if him dropping the "I know she gave me all that she wore" line and replacing it with the later line "How quick the sun can drop away" line and repeating it again later in its proper place was a conscious decision or if he just lost his place in the lyrics.
He sang Black in concert shortly after losing Chris Cornell and started crying on stage, it was devastating.
This song just punches into your chest and rips out your heart. It makes you not want to have a heart.
Painfully beautiful.
I was at this concert/recording as a teenager. At the time, we had no idea how important it would end up being! Back then, we were just happy to see Pearl Jam so closely and Intimately, not to be on MTV. I just consider myself very lucky. I still have the ticket framed with all my old stubs from my younger years, but this one is at the top.
That's fucking amazing! I would love to see that ticket stub! How has no one commented on this! You're awesome and I'm jealous haha
That's awesome, man. What a treasure to have.
I hated Pearl Jam when I was a teen to be cool, but now in my 40’s I appreciate the hell out of them.
@@lucasmcdonald0487 ID say I'm more lucky, than anything. I went with my cousin, somehow she got 2 tickets. Obviously, we never knew how iconic this single show would be! I lost that ticket for 20yrs! When we moved, I found an envelope in a box, and it contained ALL the concert stubs from 1990-2001. I have some other very good ones, but this concert still is my "Crown Jewel"!
@@JoyoSnooze I have it framed on my office wall!
60 years old and this song always feels new to me. Wicked incredible and intense
Right? amazing
Im 46, male, i love heavy metal and horror films but this performance fricking brings me to tears everytime.. Brilliant reaction 👍🏻
I'm 41 and I've been watching reactions for 2 hours and crying every time lol
@@alespider9905 heres a hug 🤗
This song is actually really great for young people to listen to and delve into the backstory of as it can be a great life lesson in perspective.
Eddie (Vedder - the singer) and the lady he is singing about actually did get back together and even got married.
But after 6 years they divorced and 10 years later he married his current wife with whom he has 2 kids, a wonderful life he is extremely lucky and self-admittedly overjoyed to have and now when he sings this song live he changes the lyric to “we DIDNT belong together”.
The lesson: don’t let sadness and disappointment convince you that your future is destroyed.
You have no idea what the future holds and what seems like the be all and end all now can easily turn out to be anything but.
You never know when the best is actually ahead of you.
20+ shows in person and easily 100+ bootlegs heard, and I have never heard this lyrical change...
@@weaklid I can’t say that my source is any more reliable than your unsubstantiated claim so I won’t argue it
That is definitely one of the things I love most about youtube reactors. When they hear something for the first time and they absolutely love it... there's this smile that shows up and it appeared on you. Amazing reaction!
It's bittersweet. You get a certain amount of vicarious enjoyment from watching someone experience it for the first time, but it reminds you that you can't go back.
@@saviourself687 absolutely
This is probably the most heart felt break up songs of all time. When Eddie sings it he is so invested in to it. He pours his heart and soul into this performance. One song that almost was never recorded.
Isn’t this one of the most heartbreaking beautiful song ever written? Still get chills like when the day it came out.
Thank you for sharing your time with us. ☮️
You are absolutely right. This the sound of a man wallowing in deep and unrelenting grief of a breakup not of his choosing. Through his voice of anguish you can almost feel his pain. This is songwriting at it’s best. And with Eddie Vetter singing it’s a masterpiece.
When you said "He has all of my attention" I smiled so big. That man had my FULL attention throughout ALL of the 90s.....Eddie Vedder is his name and he is fabulous. Great reaction :)
I mean his looks his voice hahaha its kinda dificult not too
It’s been so long since I heard this song, I forgot how heartbreaking it is. It’s so much fun watching your favorite songs through someone else’s perspective. I would really like to see you react to “Jeremy” by Pearl Jam. Warning…it is a very heavy song.
Jeremy should be the next reaction I agree
The uncut version 😢
m.ua-cam.com/video/TuDagizDeyU/v-deo.html
but the live version
+1
Personally, I think "Crazy Mary"... haven't seen any reactions to that song. Jeremy is way dark.
UNPLUGGED was the best thing to ever come from MTV, back when they actually played music. To truly appreciate a bands talent, you need to hear them 'unplugged'. I highly recommend QUEENSRYCHE's Unplugged session, especially the songs 'Silent Lucidity', 'Anybody Listening', 'Della Brown', 'I Will Remember'. Geoff Tate's voice back then was amazing, and the acoustic guitars will give you chills.
30 years later, it still gives me goosebumps to see someone who comprehends in that moment what he's feeling. Such an amazing song. I remember seeing this for the first time on MTV back in the 90s. Pearl Jam was my favorite. ♥️
Eddy Vedder was instrumental in the Seatttle “Grunge “ music. He didn’t want this song released because it was so personal to him. It took some persuasion to let it be released. Great reaction 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Ed has a one in a bazillion voice that is so strong, yet vulnerable and so very comforting and passionate. This song still gives me goosebumps after 30 years of hearing it.
Pearl Jam is my favourite grunge band, I'm glad that you reacted to their song.
I've never seen a reactor nail this song this well, especially the first time. Awesome job
This song was about his wife and their divorce. He actually teared up after this performance. He wiped his eye with his sleeve and he had to take a few moment to compose himself. You can see it at the very end of this video. It's just as powerful as the performance, itself.
This song gets me every time🥺
That last lyric that starts “I know someday you’ll have a beautiful life…”
For every relationship I ever screwed up by my ignorance or inattention… for every relationship I ruined by paying my previous pain forward…
God, I’m so sorry…😔💔
It’s so nice to see a someone from a younger generation react and enjoy beautiful music from over 30 years ago. Eddies voice is so incredibly unique and I’m glad that you enjoyed it!
Absolutely amazing. His voice channels his angst and pain like not many others can do.
I had my worst sentimental breakup around the time this song was released, more than 30 years ago. To this day it brings tears to my eyes, especially THAT line. Thank you Eddie for putting words to what so many of us have experienced.
It is just... raw . Nothing else needs to be said
This is a top 5 reaction of all time. It was beautiful to watch you connect with this music in the same way so many of us have. Well done!
Thank you so much
One of my favorite live vocals ever
Eddie... still making the ladies swoon a quarter century later... ✌️💙
This song is by far THE SONG you’d put on your playlist if you break up with someone. Another great song you have to listen with this kind of lyrics is “watch over you” by Alterbridge. Myles Kenndy voice is amazing.
Bisscute ❤️ Eddie is my favorite Grunge singer! His voice cuts right into my soul. This performance was 30 years ago! I'd love for you to see Eddie being Eddie though - he's INTENSE yet CARE FREE & WILD on stage. 🥰
"Do I do wrong"? you asked by calling Eddie's voice sexy? No Sister, you are spot on.
I recommend:
🌟 Even Flow
🌟 Alive
🌟 Porch (LIVE at Pink Pop 1992)
🌟 Jeremy (this song is deep & lyrics are important to understand the song. Do the official video but have lyrics pulled up on phone)
🌟 Yellow Ledbetter
🌟 Better Man
🌟 State of Love & Trust
🌟 Oceans
I LOVE YOUR REACTION! YOU ARE ADORABLE & ARTICULATE ❤️ I CAN TELL YOU TRULY FEEL MUSIC! 🎵
Your list of songs is perfect. Yellow Ledbetter is amazing and too often overlooked...
This is a very, very good introduction to Pearl Jam’s music and songs. The studio version is also emotionally powerful, but here he poured it on even thicker. His name is Eddie Vedder, and he helped found Pearl Jam in Seattle, Washington. Eddie’s voice type/vocal range is baritone; Jim Morrison and Elvis Presley are other well-known baritones. Pearl Jam is the only Seattle band that never broke up or lost members due to substance abuse and other personal demons.
I love watching your generation react when you discover old-school Grundge. I was in high school when Seattle dropped that bomb on the world, and now 30 years later it's like sharing another great new album with my friends again.
Pearl Jam is an amazing rabbit hole to fall into. One of the premier Grunge bands of the time out of Seattle, singer Eddie Veddar is the only remaining front men from those popular bands.
This is a very tamed performance because of the Unplugged (acoustics) setting of this MTV show which was also popular in the 90s. Pearl Jam live shows are extremely energetic, entertaining and at times crazy in the fact that Eddie tends to be reckless in his physical stage antics, something you will see in their live videos later.
Love your reaction!
This was My breakup song when my wife left Me in 93. Still brings a tear as she recently passed.
It's good to have the lyrics in front of you at least the first time you listen to this song. One of the most powerfully emotional performances ever...
Pearl Jam is part of a four band nucleus that WAS grunge .....after those four bands the rest was post grunge, it changed rock in the early 90s. Nirvana, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains are the other three. All came out of the Seattle scene.
There were other grunge bands at the time, they just weren’t as big and aren’t as remembered as these 4.
@@UA-camWatcher9000 Ofcourse there was....but they couldnt kick the door open like the 4 did
@@UA-camWatcher9000 There was also thousands of rock, disco and country bands that never quite cut the spot light just the same...but 4 changed music ....only 4 great bands
@@SIXX2772 Screaming Trees were as great as the other 4, but never came out that big.
@@simond1574 Basically what I said lol
I got to meet him in 1994 in Seattle at The Comet Tavern where he got his start. It was the best moments of my life. I was only 14 years old. It was awesome and he was so nice to me. I’ll never forget it. Thanx for the reaction cutie!
I was 17 when this album come out. I’m 47 now. The first time I heard this song tore me to pieces. Imagine being 17. Just breaking up with your gf and hearing this song. It hits ya hard even 30 yrs later
I'm 35 and heard this song from my Mom when I was young and it hurt me even then but when I got older and realized the depth of this song, and going through heartbreak, tremendously still fucks with me listening to it
You + Pearl Jam ( my favorite band) ♥️
Perfection!
Eddie Vedder wrote this song but didnt want to record it and was really resistant to it being a single. The studio pressured him to. It was so personal for him. The high note you hear is the resonator guitar to Eddie's right side. This performance was just over 30 years ago. He still performs solo and usually headlines and hosts a music festival in Dana Point, CA every year.
At one point I almost say he looks at the camera with anger for a split second. Never really put it together but the fact he hated this song being out there for a few reasons then that f you look
Easily my favorite PJ song. It was out during a bad breakup so it's resonated with me since. Live version of this is beyond incredible. Enjoy.
Two words. Better Man.
Hi Bisscute, I can't wait to see your reaction to this song, this song is one of the best songs from Ten's album, there are other good songs like Jeremy, Even flow, etc...
"All the love gone bad, turned my world to black" gets me everytime.
I think "Alive" is a great example of the entire band getting thier fill.
I was 14 when this aired live. And I remember watching it live on MTV This song gives me the chicken skin every time. So much passion. Best band period!
This song makes me cry, every time. 😭
Eddie has such a one of a kind voice. It's awesome. He's a really nice guy too. I lived in Olympia,Washington and he used to hang out there all the time. Just a sweet guy. I also got to see him when I lived on the island of Molokai. He was looking to aquire land there.
This is Eddie Vedder. Welcome to "Grunge".
Eddie is one of a crop of some of the greatest vocalists to come out of Seattle In the 90s and probably some of the greatest vocalists in Rock History. In my humble opinion the top 3 vocalists are Chris Cornell of Soundgarden/Temple of the Dog and Audioslave, Layne Staley of Alice in Chains and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam.
I highly recommend checking out the other two if you haven't already! Mind blowing!
This song has been one of my favourites for a long time, but I've never heard a live version. Holy shit. There's so much feeling in his voice
right ?? its so clear
I was in high school when the grunge era hit the scene in the early 90s. Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots all sang the soundtrack of my angsty teenage years. I turn 46 next week and I still rock these groups and sometimes I tear up because they shaped me into who I am.
We all wanted to comfort Eddie Vedder's broken heart 😊 It's ok Eddie, there there 😁 The lyrics are amazing ❤️
I love Pearl jam, Eddie vedder's voice has so much power, you feel their music more than you hear it
like the way you put that
I 100% agree with you. The songs I cherish most, are emotional songs of many variety. I'm an emotional person, and truly enjoy having that connection with music. One of my very few joys. Love the reaction!
I haven't seen to many people get/ understand this song as intimately as you on your first listen... Bravo.. I'm in tears when he says, "I know someday you'll have a beautiful life you'll be a star in someone else's sky but why?"
that was so heart breaking true true
You have one of the best reactions to this song. You pause at the right places, you spot the right things, you rewind (which I wish a lot of other reaction vids would do!). Liked and subscribed!
Thank you so much
Eddie Vedder, the main singer, is amazing. And I totally agree, his voice gets ALL of our attention! Jeremy, Evenflow, Porch... Release...all good next stops along the journey!
can't wait
I have words from this song tattooed on me my favourite Pearl jam song ever and this performance is the best version of this song the one song that made me fall in love with Pearl jam, Eddie Vedder is by far one of the best rock vocalists ever
Yes! ❤ Favorite Pearl Jam song.
Ive listened to this song since it came out, I watched this MTV Unplugged as it premiered on MTV and to this day, this song melts my heart. You brought tears to my eyes to watch your reaction and how you felt the pain in his voice all these years later. Warms my heart, and thanks for making me cry at work lol...
I am sorrrryyy :(
Ill be 40 next month. I been listening to Pearl Jam since high school. This song still makes me shed a tear thinking back to things lost. Great great reaction. You get it.
I was 16 when this song boom in Indonesia, it's around year 1994/1995 in my country, and yeah..today i am 44 lol, time flies.
'I know someday you'll have a beautiful, I know you'll be the star..... in somebody else's sky but, why, why WHYYYYYY can't it be, why can't it be miiiiiiiIIINE!!'
Most heartbreaking line.
Best concert I've ever been to..Pearl Jam -- BRILLIANT
I remember watching this when it was first released on MTV. I was mesmerized. Pear Jam 4 Life.❤🎶
Loved your reaction. Been to 12 Pearl Jam shows - incredible live band. Eddie Vedder is a legend.
OMG jealousy is ugly but I'm a little ugly cause I want to see them so bad. 12! that's amazing, I'm happy for you to be honest. I'm in Norway and they are playing in Denmark in about a week and every single day I look at plane ticket prices and re-sale concert tickets as well. Trying to decide if it's worth paying about the same amount as one month's rent for a few hours.. I won't have an apartment next month anyway though lol so IDK
AMAZING SONG, ANAZING BAND!!!
Fun fact the We Belong Together at the end was improvised, not in the studio version of the song, he just sang it as he was feeling it
Thanks for the reaction. I have to agree. "He has one of the most beautiful male voices I have ever heard."
Check out Pearl Jam 'Jeremy' the uncensored Video and then do the Unplugged version. So powerful! Peace from New Zealand
Most beautiful song ever. Broke my heart everytime.
This powerful song come out so many feelings and each reaction I see confirms that.
The amazing lirycs evoque all the pain than you can feel and have the courage to tell the person who broke your heart that you wish them the best.
One of the best songs of the 90s for sure... and girl that sound is coming from the first guitar the funny looking one on the far left 👍
Yesssss...Finally PEARL JAM black mtv unplugged....danke Bisscute😘😘😘
GRUNGE BANDS HAD THE BEST UNPLUGGED PERFORMANCES🤟👍
This song breaks my heart everytime! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
I know you'll be a star
In somebody else's sky
Buy why
Why cant be mine
That part breaks my heart everytime 😢
Love this reaction the best for this song and this version . I grew up in the 90s and It's my favorite song of all time. This was recorded on MTV in 92. And the singer is Eddie Vedder. He puts his soul into his songs and you definitely can see it and hear it in his voice. Thank you for this reaction ❤️
One of my favorite songs I have ever listened to. Eddie is just on a different level and how emotional this song is in general just hits the feels all the time!
I love to see young people finally experience Black 🤟🏼
his intensity is heart wrenching..
I have watched this performance hundreds of times and it still hurts me when I watch it.
I can't recommend seeing PJ live enough, if you ever get the opportunity!
Their concerts are a transcendent experience, certainly something you'll never forget.
Much love, from Australia xx
Pearl Jam is the best live! They're also one of the most gracious bands I've come across. I am from Seattle and when I was at the University of Washington in the early 90's I had the opportunity to work security at concerts. Pearl Jam, in smaller venue in Tacoma, was one of these such occurrences. When the concert was "officially over" they went into an unplanned and unknown to the audience concert. They closed the doors to the venue and told security to not allow re-entry. Then they proceeded to do a 3 hour jam session for the remaining audience. They played until about 2 AM and just gave us all the best show of our lives.
I've been listening to this song since it came out. Brings a tear to me eye everytime... maybe it's because I can identify myself with it
Love your reactions, you're so passionate and sharp, but your face expressions are the sweetest thing ❤️
Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell on "Hunger Strike" is two of the best male rock vocalists of all time on one song. ✌❤
I love watching someone feel this song for the first time, knowing a lyric is coming and watching her heart break. I loved her sincere reaction. Great job.
love this reaction, feels more genuine than most ive seen. thank you :)
Wow, thank you❤️
I know someday you’ll have a beautiful life, I know you’ll be a star, in somebody’s else’s sky, but why, why, why can’t it be, can’t it be in mine.
Painful beautiful poetry.
black is one of my favourites because i can relate to it so much . losing ppl sux .
This is SO GOOD!!! I saw them outside, poring rain in Oakland. Every note sounded like the record!!!
Love love love this song 🖤🤘🏻 Beautiful Mtv unplugged
Eddie Vedder is amazing..the band is awesome. I love them..and he is crazy.
The greatest band performance EVER recorded. I watched this live when it was recorded. They shattered rock fans when they hit.
I knew some day you'd be a star in somebody else's sky but why, why can it not be mine. 😭😭😭 Great reaction
Thank you for the reaction. Black has some of my most absolute favourite lyrics ever... And this emotive performance though. For a debut album, "Ten" is simply a masterpiece. Again, thank you for the reaction. 🔥🖤
The studio version of this was on a mixtape my sister made me when I was 10 - the line 'why can't it be..why can't it be mine?' shook me ti my core even then.
This live version somehow tops that.
" I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star, In somebody else's sky, But why, Why, Why can't it be
Why can't it be mine"
“Why can’t it be can’t it be ee ee ee mine, ah high high” gets me every time!! 💔
The Singer, Eddie Vedder, said the song is about First Relationships and how they mostly don't last. It's about letting go and grow.
That "sound" you mention is probably the Resonator Guitar. These guitars have a very distinctive sound.
