My intro to Primus, other than South Park and this song, was actually John The Fisherman, which has a more classic structure, but I just LOVE the riffs and the bass play. Nice job 👍
I recently started listening to Primus and they really blew me away, such a MASSIVE sound. I only remember one single from the time of release. You had it right, all three are virtuoso performers in their own right, super talented IMO and definitely pretty weird. Thanks for sharing.

on your comment about south park- primus did the theme song, and Les Claypool was instrumental in the background to getting that show off the ground. and now you know the rest of the story! .
Also, it's a quote from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, spoken by Choptop, Leatherface's brother, a vietnam vet with a plate in his head, who picks his scalp with a heated up coathanger, down to the plate, and eats the pieces he picks off. Bill Mosely played Choptop, and Otis P Driftwood in House of a Thousand Corpses, and the Devil's Rejects, and was the vocalist in Cornbugs, with Buckethead on Guitar, who collabed with primus and Les Claypool.
Great assessment of this band. I concur on all points. I saw them play a long, long time ago and I was very impressed, especially with the bass playing. I left the show wondering WTF was that all about? Decades later I'm still wondering ;-)
Over the Electric Grapevine by Primus has some of the best drumming I've ever heard. I can't help but picture a train chugging along when I listen to it.

HAHA Awesome!
This song was heavily influenced by King Crimson, especially "Elephant Talk"; the bass riff is almost identical
Once I started listening to more Crimson and Stanley Clarke, I could hear the DNA of Les’ bass style.
Absolutely!
