Brett Michaels: lead singer C.C. DeVille: lead guitar Bobby Dall: bass guitar Rikki Rocket: drums They are just really great! Nothin’ but a good time, Unskinny Bop, Fallen Angel, Something To Believe In, Cry Tough, Ride the Wind are all great songs to check out!
If you are digging Poison then check out: Look What the Cat Dragged In, Nothing but a Good Time, Fallen Angel, Your Momma Don't Dance, Every Rose Has its Thorn, and Unskinny Bop. Something to Believe in is not bad but they got a lot more serious in that song. Not going to lie though, Open Up and Say Ahhh was a fire album for its time.
They are the EPITOME of "Glam Rock". Definitely a good time band. They have a really good catalog. I wish more Reactors would cover their music, so THANK YOU!
Welcome to one of the Kings of the Hairbands! Poison has been around for awhile...mid-80s thru the 90s is when I remember listening to them. "OMG Look What the Cat Dragged In", "Unskinny Bop" are great choices!
The band started in Pennsylvania band consisted of Bret Micheals, Bobby Dall, Rikki Rockett and original guitarist Matt Smith. Matt left the group and the band moved to California in 1983 and gained guitarist C. C. DeVille.
@@purplebeard1526 I grew up listening to Poison and wanted to know more about the band so I read and article about them in a magazine and I watched a episode of VH1 Behind The Music about them.
@@lacyinmon1004 I didn't pick up on them till Open Up and Say Ahh came out.... I found out later they had an album prior to that one. I heard whatever they had out on MTV for Open Up and Say Ahh's folllow up but IMO, like a few bands from that era, when they hit the early 90s and "changed styles" I had a hard time still being in.
Poison was from PA originally. They moved to LA in the early eighties. They found the guitar player with the white hair (CC Deville) and made a name for themselves in LA. They put out their debut album in 1986(Look What The Cat Dragged In). The video you just watched was the song that gave them their start on MTV. From their, they became one of the biggest bands of the late eighties with two more huge albums.
One of the best "hair bands" to come out of the 80's. There were and still are a lot fun! You got your air guitar going...love it! They were having fun...that was the theme of the 80's and it was great!!!
Singer Bret Michaels a drummer Rikki Rockett and drummer Bobby Dahl are friends from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania who formed the band Paris in 1980. They relocated to try to make it big in LA in 1983., they also changed their name to Poison. They played every club along a Sunset Strip and eventually met guitarist CC DeVille at an audition they held to replace their original guitarist Matt Smith. They got signed by Enigma Records in 1986....and have been the life of the party ever since. :)
+Dean Bros Ok a little bio on Poison LOL. They were originally from Mechanicsburg, PA. They started out with the name Paris. At that time the members were Bret Michaels (lead singer) Rikki Rockett (drums) Bobby Dall (Bass) Matt Smith (guitar) They decided to move to Los Angeles and Matt decided to stay behind. They then held auditions for a guitar player in which it came down to Slash (he became the guitarist for Guns N Roses) and C.C Deville. They picked C.C. and changed the name of the band to Poison. The line up was then... Bret Michaels (lead singer) Rikki Rockett (drums) Bobby Dall (bass) C.C. Deville (guitar) C.C tragically lost his girlfriend at the time (she was shot & killed in a bar fight), got caught up in the rock n roll lifestyle & devloped a drug and alcohol problem eventually leading to a fist fight between him & Bret and him being booted from the band. They then got Ritchie Kotzen as their guitarist, making the line up.. Bret (vocals) Rikki (drums) Bobby (bass) Ritchie (guitar) Ritchie stole their drummer Rikki's girlfriend from him which resulted in him being booted. They split up for awhile then got back together acquiring a new guitarist Blues Saranceno (sp). C.C in the mean time was in rehab and recovering from his drug/alcohol problem. After rehab Bret, Rikki & Bobby asked C.C to come back. C.C told them he would but to wait until he felt strong enough to handle it. The release of the album they did with Blues kept getting pushed back until it was a moot point as C.C had by then returned. They officially got back together in back in 1997 and still are now with the not so original original line up LOL. If you want a butt kicking live band look no further LOL as they are like one of the best if not the best and are one of the few bands that sound live like they do on their videos and cds.
Ricki Rocket on drums...Bobby Dall on bass...C.C.Deville on lead guitar and Bret Michaels lead singer...they started in Los Angeles around 1985 with the glam slam hair band movement of the day..and The song you are listening to Talk Dirty To Me was off their first album Look What The Cat Dragged In...and they are still around today touring with Motley Crue and Def Leppard
Bret Michaels {lead singer}, Rikki Rocket {drummer} n Bobby Dall {bass} are from my backyard...Mechanicsburg n Butler Pa. C.C. DeVille {lead guitar} is from New York. Rock legends in these parts n they do a lot of charity for their hometown...good dudes
Ohh and what do I think of Poison lol, I LOVE them, they're my favorite band. I even have the Poison logo tatooed on my arm LOL. Saw them live 2x in 99, 2x in 2000 and once in 2001. Got go back stage and met Bret, Rikki & C.C. Also got to get on stage with them back in 2001.
L.A seen with motley crue and stryper and warrant and tesla so many others. Bret Michaels lead singer C.C deville lead guitar. Ricky rocket drums Bobby doll bass🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘💥💥
FUN FACT: They had to crop the original album cover down to pass some censorship laws at the time. The original version had the "demon girl's" full face with the toungue out, the more common version though was just her eyes on the cover--well more like a band showing the eyes of the face....
Poison rocks seen them a few times always a great show motely crew helped them get there start saw them a few times as well I was born in 1969 so this was my the music I grew up with no auto tune you had to know how to play CC the guitarist for poison has a degree in music this music was awesome but everyone just overlooks the musianship an focus on the hair small minds miss alot 🤟
Bret, rikki, and Bobby are from Mechanicsburg PA. They had a different guitarist that didn't move with them when they left for LA to try to make it big. Funny thing final choice to replace the original guitarist was almost Slash. Slash didn't want the gig cause style was different. C.c. came in and auditioned and was chosen.
As far as other Poison songs you should also react to: Unskinny Bop Your Mama Don't Dance (And Your Daddy Don't Rock'n'Roll) I Want Action Something To Believe In I Won't Forget You Nothing But A Good Time
Well brudda....welcome to glam metal😁😁 rock n roll tossed in with some pretty dudes. W/O knowing, i saw a poster of them once and told my buddy...." Who's that? Id F everyone of the them" he said...." Bro....THAT'S POISON!"😂😂😂
While Metallica was bigger before Poison was (Garage Days is before Poison's first album) Because of Poison, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Metallica stayed on the Hair Bandwagon until they cut their hair. (At least amongst a female demographic)
Brett Michaels: lead singer
C.C. DeVille: lead guitar
Bobby Dall: bass guitar
Rikki Rocket: drums
They are just really great! Nothin’ but a good time, Unskinny Bop, Fallen Angel, Something To Believe In, Cry Tough, Ride the Wind are all great songs to check out!

CC was a underrated guitarist from that era IMO.
@@purplebeard1526 I agree!! He’s always been one of my favorites!!

I got to agree with you. They are all fire. Here's one I thought of it's called Poor boy blues

Now that you’ve said Saved By The Bell and poison in the same sentence I can’t unhear it
Brings me back to my early childhood in the late 80’s because of my older sister

Hair Band for the 80’s. Lead Singer Brett Michaels is a great singer. They’re not hard rock metal.
That’s because of girl looking like bands like this one that MetallicA was created, because MetallicA is wilder and manlier than hair metal bands!
