YES!! I think “Something to believe in” is superior to “Every rose has its thorn” too. I always loved Poison and all the ‘80’s hair bands, that was my era too. A couple of my first album buys with my own money from my first job were Ratt and Twisted Sister 😂 Those were a little before Poison and Motley Crew came to be well known, which I’m sure you remember. I rocked spiked leather bracelets as a preteen because of Ratt 😂 I even have pics of me sporting my big hair throughout my teenage years to prove it too 😂🤣😂🤣
@@NativeNYerChicHK I know that Every Rose Has its Thorn was written about Brett's ex, but Something to Believe In has so much more raw emotion in my opinion. I loved Twisted Sister! They gave the P. M. R. C. hell.
Listen to their song "Something to believe in".NOT about sex, drugs or rock and roll. All about serious social issues. And,it's a beautiful song. It's a classic.I highly recommend it,so you can get a better opinion of them than a silly "hair band",singing about nothing but "sex, drugs and rock and roll".I think that stereotype is what brought about "power ballads".These bands wanted to show that, although they are mostly about good times and partying, they are also serious musicians, who can write serious, though provoking songs about serious love and about social issues.
@mark tamayo And,in most cases, the record companies were right. The slow love song/power ballads that were completely opposite of the bands usual style ended up being their biggest hits.
@mark tamayo All I can say is,if these bands hate their biggest hits so much, they can always send the millions that they made from them to me.They seem to have no problem with spending the money that they "lowered" themselves line their pockets with.
Poison is a fun band, they were great live too. Can’t really think of a bad song. Tons of fun songs with this kind of vibe and several excellent ballads as well. Always viewed them as a bit lighter than Motley Crue. MC had a much heavier sound, but they were all singing about the same stuff mostly.
Saw them back in '90 with Warrant then saw them again 20 years later with Ratt. They really did not lose a step and unlike Vince Neil(saw MC with Alice Cooper about 8 years ago), Bret did not lose the ability to keep up with all the lyrics.
What's up with Drive in's??? Ah man am I that old!?! WOW, you missed out on so much! Let's just say that I can't remember most of the movies!! ROCK ON!! Jeff
Back in the day when I was in college (mid to late '90s), there was a jukebox in the student center and it was set to play everything for free. This was one of the records they had in there and It got played multiple times a day LOL. I'm sure people probably got sick of it but I always loved hearing it come on!
My first concert was Dio with Twisted Sister opening. I think it was about 2-3 months after that show that TS started headlining arenas themselves. Good times!
I was obsessed with lead singer Bret Michaels back in the day lol. His posters plastered my bedroom walls lol. And now, today, with Bret getting older and doing more, my mom loves him.. Like she's in love with him lol. Once upon she made fun of me for liking dudes wearing makeup and now she'd probably leave my dad for his sexy butt 😆
I was offered a backstage pass once by CC but I didn't take it I was a Bret girl. And we all know about those passes. They may have been disappointed to learn I was only 16 anyway

The epitome of 80's glam! Love this band. Other songs, Unskinny Bop, Fallen Angel, Nothin But a Good Time, Something to Believe In, Every Rose Has it's Thorn.
They were having the time of their lives. Seeing them in person and watching "CC pick up that guitair and talk to me!" was one of the best moments of my life.
Poison was just as energetic live as they portrayed in the video. Bret Michaels (lead singer) has enough energy and charisma to fuel an entire arena. He was actually one of the very few who didn't go hard into drugs. He has diabetes so he's always been very health conscious. Probably why he ages so well. He didn't kill his body like the rest of us did, lol.
Maybe he didn’t become a drug addict but I heard in a documentary about them that in the prime time of their career, he did drink heavily and did use a lot of drugs.
Brett Michaels, C.C. Deville, Bobby Dall ,and Ricky Rocket. Poison as well as Motley Crue were big in 80's. Sex, Drugs, and Rock n Roll definitely applies to both bands. And they both have a lot of good songs. Poison has a couple power ballads you should check out "Something to Believe in' and 'Every Rose Has It's Thorn'
Your Mama Don't dance, Unskinny Bop, Something to Believe In, and Fallen Angel are some of their more popular songs that I remember from my teenage years.
I’m gonna need y’all to take a deep dive down the Guns N Roses rabbit hole please. Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City and Sweet Child of Mine are reactions we need you to do!
For this band, I suggest "Unskinny Bop" and "Every Rose Has Its Thorn". They have a ton of songs, but those 2 showcase different aspects of their music. Brett Michaels is the leader. Still has those beautiful blue eyes and gorgeous smile. He was diagnosed with type I diabetes back in the sixties, when he was 6 years old and had to learn to manage his disease from the beginning with multiple insulin shots daily. He has done a lot for kids with diabetes and has been an advocate for not letting your disease stop you from reaching your dreams. Aside from that, he has had other health problems over the years, including the discovery or a congenital hole in his heart. Most babies who are born with this condition outgrow it, I guess you could say, because it will eventually close on its own. Some, like Brett's never do and have to be handled later in life. Many other things have happened, but he has managed to survive and thrive.
The guitarist wrote a song (which I saw him perform) called, "I Hate Every Bone In Your Body But Mine." They DO have the quintessential 80s EVERYTHING, for sure. And people can hate it or love it, but back then you had a shitload of bands who more or less wanted to be Kiss, as far as musical style and the "we're just here to have fun" kind of vibe. Poison were arguably the most successful. And if you're looking for escapist rock and roll with a glam metal vibe, you couldn't do much worse. When I see comments below videos from Poison or Bon Jovi or Cinderella (or a scrillion more bands like that), I see a ton of people who talk about how much fun music was in the 80s, and people who weren't around sometimes sound like they were sorry they missed it. And they're absolutely correct -- it *WAS* a more exuberant and carefree era, without a doubt. It's no surprise that so many people who weren't even born until after 1990 discover 80s rock & metal and go, "holy crap! This is so much fun!" And you could make a multi-hour playlist of all of the videos that encapsulated that feeling back then. It was *SO* different. SO different from how it is now.......so much better. :(
Check out "Look what the car dragged in", "You're momma don't dance", and "Fallen Angel". I saw them in concert in Nashville back in 88 and they put on one helluva a show, but my friends they are no Motley Crue :)
this was their first big hit, as soon as it aired on the radio it made them overnight famous, FAMOUS!!! they are such a fun party band. Having grown up in the 80s Poison for my circle of friends was considered a poser band. They played well, they had good but radio friendly songs they were very glammed up But they were not bad boys. The girls love them especially Bret Michaels the singer and they wanted their boyfriends to be like them and all the boys wanted to be either like somebody from motley Crue or someone from Guns N’ Roses or Metallica, a hell of a lot more edgy. Now Brett Michaels is certainly a class act and is still somewhat relevant in music but in no way shape or form can they be compared to motley Crue. The crew will forever be known as the bad boys of rock ‘n’ roll and they earned it. You really need to see the movie The Dirt on Netflix about them
Having been a Metal Head in the 80s I gotta say we saw Poison and Motley Crue as posers ......looking back now as a musician both bands had good music but if Im being honest Mick Mars couldnt hold CCDevilles jockstrap as a guitarist Mick was a solid but average guitarist on his best day ......CC could play! Just my opinion......but opinions are subjective......
Great reaction.....they really were a fun band. Awesome live. 80's hair metal has a special place in my heart. So wonderful to watch a new generation find them
I grew up in the 80s and my elder sister listened to this kind of music for a while. She was always listening to Poison, Motley Crew, Deff Leppard, Europe, White snake, Scorpions, Bon Jovi, Kiss...as well as some Pink Rock like The Clash or Ramones. I only realize now how fortunate I was as a kid and I can't thank enough my big sister for the free education.
Sorry, but Poison can barely carry Motley's jockstraps, much less be better than the Crue. Poison has some great songs, but they are not even close to being in Motley's party hard category.
Motley Crue sux live! Poison was a good band live. They do have good songs but it’s polished for recording not good at all live. Seen them both many times. Motley Crue was harder when they started but the Dr Feelgood album being good is nothing more than a Poison Album.

My very first concert, at 13 years old, was a Poison concert. My Dad took me. The date was February 8, 1989. I still have my ticket.😜 Awesome concert and one of the best times I ever had with my Dad. Poison was an epic band! Check out their song “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”. Also, you guys are pretty damn awesome as well! Much Love!!❤️
One of the best party bands, they could even get the mums and dads dancing!
Yay u reacted 2 my suggestion!!!!💜💜YOU HAVE 2 DO NOTHIN BUT A GOOD TIME it's one of those songs that's timeless. And I feel like that song captures the essence of poison. Luv u guys and your reactions!!!
Went to a Poison concert in the late 80s, and they were awesome! One of the top 'hair bands' of rock!
One of my faves! What a great tune! 😎😎😎😎😎👍👍
More Poison: Their biggest hits: Every Rose Has it's Thorn, Nothing But a Good Time.
Something to Believe In; Every Rose Has its Thorn; Nothin’ But a Good Time; Fallen Angel! Just to name a few!!!!!! LOL. Thanks for this reaction! God Bless!
"Stand" is a must by these guys
Oooh when this song dropped it was that hot sht! Blasting out of every car on the strip! Memories…. ❤️
@@utubnagain Wasn’t it fun? It’s all there was to do! Once we had a car, we worked for gas money. In the Summertime, Friday and Saturday nights were for cruising around looking at Mustangs, Trans-Ams, cute boys and big hair. Good times.
Guys my heart is breaking! 💔
First you’d never heard of the Eagles and that’s so sad! 😢 Now you don’t know about the iconic American drive in? I’m so glad y’all are broadening your horizons! Love y’all.❣️ Something to Believe In ,
Every Rose Has It’s Thorns , Unskinny Bop are some other Poison songs. And you can appreciate Bret Michael’s voice so much more on these. Love his voice! ♥️♥️
They were great in concert.
My favorite 80s hair band, hands down.
Glam Rock and Hair Bands. They pushed lyrics a bit but saw them live...theyre pretty damn good.
Yes, '80's, no cell phones.
I saw them live in the early 90's and they do some crazy stuff on stage. Very entertaining to say the least. Thanks for the reaction!
They still perform live. And are still great
Poison songs you react to include: Nothing but a good time, fallen angel, something to believe in, Every rose has its thorn.
80's hair band and glam rock what could be better.
Nothing but a good time by POISON.
The '80's were a killer time to grow up in music & Poison in NOLA was my 1st concert.
Loved it!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ They have such a varied catalog... it’s pretty amazing!
I was high school class of 1981 so I love the 80s rock and this is fun, a local college radio station even had a show called Torn Denim and played nothing but this kind of music
The 80’s were all about decadence!! I’ve seen both Mötley Crüe and Poison in concert several times. Both are a really great time, but I’d have to give the crown to the Crüe, because they lived that life on AND off the stage.
