Dude, his solo in Something To Believe In is one of the GREATEST emotional and deep solos, along with like Purple Rain, Faithfully by Journey, Angel by Aerosmith, so forth, such amazing music back in the time.

I watched him soundcheck when he was doing his solo thing, and he was ripping out a Ratt tune and definitely giving Warren DiMartini a run for his money.
I completely agree! I have been using him as an example for years when people say hair bands are just fluff. Cece is one of my favorite guitarists. Have you ever listened to “poor boy blues” off the flesh and blood album? It a great bluesy but still poison song and cece sounds awesome!
If someone wanted to know what people mean by “glam rock” or “hair bands” a Poison video is the perfect way to show them. 🤘🏻

Downward Is Heavenward it’s the driving bass that gets me every time. It’s just a really fun song. But we are all entitled to our own opinion.
This was 80's metal to a T. Going nuts and having a good time!
In about 1984 Poison was the hardest working band in LA they played almost nightly at a handful of clubs, they were fun to see and they had a huge female following. Was glad to see them finally make it big. Fun times, happy to be alive after those days.

I graduated high school in 88, and everywhere we went that summer, there were 2 songs that were constantly playing. "Nothing but a Good Time" by Poison, and, "Just Like Paradise", by David Lee Roth. Poison was my first favorite band and was introduced to them at 6 y/o back in 1987. Their first 3 albums are the only ones I listen to but man I love them!! Great nostalgia watching this!
When I first heard this song on the radio in 1987, I knew this was THE greatest song I had ever heard. I was 15 years old and I went to the record store to get the album with my mom and dad. I looked under the P section and found an album that had 4 girls on it, but I knew that wasn’t the band. I looked everywhere for it but couldn’t find it. So I asked the guy that worked there if it had come out yet. He said yes it did and proceeded to take me back to where I had been before. He picked up the same album I had earlier and handed it to me. I was like Oh, this is them?????? From then on, I looked for every band with big hair and lots of makeup. And that’s how I got into glam music. If you like this song, I suggest 3 other bands to listen to. Faster Pussycat, Pretty Boy Floyd and the ultimate glam band from the United Kingdom, Tigertailz.

They are from my area, Harrisburg PA, and we all played the circuits out here together , and they finally broke out of the musical black hole that was and still is this area, and made themselves the biggest pop rock band in the world during the later 80s, early 90s. All respect to them. And they pretty much defined the "hair metal' thing. Great reaction bro!
Dude, when I was 18 between my junior and senior year of high school I got to be a stage hand for a poison, skidrow, and vince neil from motley crue. Got to help set everything up, see the concert for free, and when it was over as we were putting all the equipment back in the trailers, cc deville himself was walking around shaking everyone's hand..I got to meet him and shake his hand...it was still till this day one of the most badass days of my life...💪🤜🤛

Poison was one of those bands that were unfairly written off as trash by critics but have managed to keep it going even now. While most of the critics darlings bands are either playing half empty clubs or just don't exist anymore (because the singer died of a heroin overdose or committed suicide), Poison is out there selling out big venues (not at the moment,of course). I've seen them live at least 10 times and they always deliver.I love that people are still discovering them.
Seen poison in concert so many times! It was the eighties way of life! Loved every minute cause they are some of the happiest days of my life🤘Turn it up!!! Oh yeah I had Hair just like them 😂

POISON was a prime example of 80's hair bands. Big hair, loud clothes, tons of make-up & accessories. Yes, they were often times prettier than their groupie-female fans. They started off with the bubble gum pop/hard rock songs that dominated MTV, but their later work tackled more serious subject matters as they became established in the music scene of the time. Please check out "Something to believe in" (profound lyrics) and "Every rose has its thorn" (one of their most successful power love ballads). Other upbeat fun songs to check out would be Nothing but a good time, I want action, Your mama don't dance, & Unskinny Bop.
12/13 yr old me had the biggest crush on Bret (the lead singer). I remember seeing them in Concert when I was 13 and screaming my head off for them. I had posters on the wall and everything! Total middle school memories here!

Poison live is a must see, even now. Other Poison songs to check out should be Nothing But A Good Time, Something To Believe In, and I Want Action. There are plenty of other good songs of theirs, but those for sure have videos.
You should also check out videos from The Cult (Firewoman, Love Removal Machine, Wake Up Time For Freedom), W.A.S.P. (Wild Child, Blind In Texas, I Wanna Be Somebody, Scream Until You Like It), RATT (Round and Round, Wanted Man, You're In Love, Lay It Down, Lack of Communication, Way Cool Jr., I Want A Woman), Warrant (Down Boys, 32 Pennies, Big Talk, Cherry Pie, Uncle Tom's Cabin), and Cinderella (Save Me, Coming Home, Shake Me, The Last Mile, Bad Seamstress Blues/Fallin' Apart At The Seams). Once you get through these, then you'll be prepped for another round of hair band awesomeness. NOTE: The Cult, W.A.S.P., Warrant, Poison, and Cinderella all had HUGE hits with power ballads. I did not include them in my recommendation because either you've probably already heard them OR they "rock" like the others do. That's not to say they aren't good songs.

Good concert. They opened for David Lee Roths skyscraper tour around 88??? I was young idk when for sure, but Posion was just starting out. They played Nothing but a good time a month before it hit the airways. They were so good in concert. Kinda hammy to some, but such a good concert from both bands. Miss the 80s
