Excellent article and I very much appreciate the possible troubleshooting answers, such as a physical network line was the problem on a wireless project. I probably would've pulled my hair out of head in frustration before I figured out that one. Thanks
is any m.2 wifi card compatible with basically all laptops or does it have to do with the connector on the pins there ? my old had 2 split apart on left side and one full on right, but i got one that was full on both sides and it didnt work, but couldve been it was bcs needing driver, but idk if its really compatible or not, or does should it be ?
The one you're watching on this video is the one mostly used currently. However (sorry to use this word) older laptops with NGFF (m.2) have poor compatibility with these newer cards. If the laptop is older (oddly enough) PCIe mini cards work with most of them ( ua-cam.com/video/eaj91tA_w_w/v-deo.html ) Por example some brands like HP with their Pavillion first generations are quite troublesome

We have encountered several incompatibility issues. Not so many but there are. Something like what we are seeing nowadays with WiFi 7 modules in which some BE200 modules work with some laptops and some other identical does not.
Hi,i have a lenovo ideapad s540 AMD ryzen 5. Im wanting to do the wifi 6e upgrade, please can you find me a card that will work with the laptop thankyou :)

Hello, I got a Dell Latitude E5530 and the original Wifi card is an Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 630, Model: 633ANHMW. It looks like a mini PCIe card and has 3 wire connectors on it. The replacement WiFi 6 ones on Amazon show they have 2 wired connections. Does that make a difference? Also my laptop has 1 open PCIe slot with 2 wires available and is not being used. Should I just leave the original card in it and install the new one into the optional slot or should I just remove the old card and install the new one in it's place. Also, what exactly is that 3rd wire for on the original card?
Hello, that is correct and it is a matter of design. Some manufacturers handle more antennas when transmitting with different radios. That model you mentioned featured a 3x3 MIMO which was commmon to have two antennas connected. In our most recent experiences whe have ended up using just one, also known as "main". Disconnected the other one and no changes were experienced in range or speed. That, at least for the two models we tested. the other card which is the one you may need: ua-cam.com/video/eaj91tA_w_w/v-deo.html The PCIe mini card is this one: amzn.to/3hjTq5C As for the secondslot is very probable you can just install it there and have an additional wifi card. There were few models that included that option as they featured WiMAX also. Possibly another reason for the third antenna.
@@TechnologyMoments Ok great, thank you! Good to know there's a good chance I can upgrade my Latitude to WiFi 6 at a reasonable cost. Btw, you do great work on your videos!
I would get a WiFi 6E card (amzn.to/3YhaHk2 ) as it would give you 1.5 Gbps with no problem (keep in mind you have to have a wifi6E AP or Router too, ) as they both feature 6GHz band. I would still not recomment any WiFi 7 card as we ahve only had experience with a Few that have not passed our tests. However if you find a reliable WiFi7 card recommended for your laptop, it would even get you to 2.1 Gbps.
No doubt this will do the job. WiFi 6E Wireless Card Intel AX210 NGW amzn.to/3YhaHk2 , only take into account that the ideal AP to connect to has to also have 6 GHz band active (wifi 6E) to get the most out of your WIFi 6 connection which is about 1 Gbps real life.

Not that I know of, but seeing your MB specs, assuming it is rev 1.0, and as it has an integrated wifi adapter, you actually have two options which are 1. Install a PCIe adapter as this one: amzn.to/3ZBgktU, or 2. Go for an adapter that will let you install any m.2 wifi card such as this one: amzn.to/3w1vqLO
It seems like your computer features a PCIe mini adpater so you'd have to go for the WiFi 6 card in that format ( amzn.to/3WYbAiO ) Good luck with your project.

Could you please indicate a good compatible wireless card (Bluetooth 5.1 and Wifi 6E) that works on my model?
Yes, and it is very probable it is an NGFF card, however you just will spend 15 minutes, taking it apart (usually just the lower cover) and make sure it has an NGFF port connection compatible to the one you order. There are just two options PCIe mini (which for your computer model I don't think it has that one, and explained in our other video) and NGFF such as the one in this video. Very easy to tell apart.
I am pretty sure you can. However make sure you could send back the unit in case your MB is one those very few which has problems with newer cards. The newer version works very well: amzn.to/3YhaHk2
It is most likely it will be compatible with the NGFF AX210 model (amzn.to/49dF8NI ) however I would strongly recommend disassembling your computer before, check and compare with what you're about to get.

Very soon we'll release a video for wifi7 update which poses a bigger challenge for upgrading as usually are E keyed cards. Your msi gf63 is relatively recent, and should accept key A and E cards which means it would support newer cards as the intel chipset BE200 WiFi 7 (amzn.to/3VHzgYs ) which we have tested in even core i3 7th gen laptops. Older laptops may not support it. Of course it depends in the MB and the slot being E keyed. (www.delock.de/infothek/M.2/M.2_e.html ) I would suggest, first take a look at your current WiFi card and if it is E keyed the WiFi7 card will work on it. Good luck with your project.
@@TechnologyMomentsThank you so much for the response and I'm looking forward to the video. My current card is key E CNVio, but not sure if it supports regular pcie (if it's not support pcie I assume I'm stuck with the current card). The seller said BE200 won't work because my 9th gen intel not support CNVio2 (?) Seller doesn't allow return so I'm afraid it will be a waste if it's not working 😄
It most probably will and you'll get overall greater file transfer and browsing performance. Just make sure it is M.2 and not PCIe mini (a bit older but also available). We've used both and both work great. Links to the newest hardware versions are in the description of both videos.
@@TechnologyMoments thanks for the response! I see, wifi card compatibility depends on the motherboard, not on the similarity of the company of my processor and wifi card haha. Thank you so much! Much appreciated!

I have old hp 15da0352tu laptop and i am facing low wifi speed (around 1mbps realtime downloading speed) with wifi 4.2 module while my friends experience 5 mbps on his new laptop with wifi 5 module on same wifi network. Is it due to 4.2 wifi module? Can i upgrade it to wifi6? Can i solve my low wifi speed issue?
Hi Bhanshu, It may range from just power lacking from your current wifi card, or even interference, so I cannot assure you an update is what you need. Would I do it and have my laptop updated to wifi6? Yes. Has my experience been good with this card? Yes. I recommend it and solved many of my specific needs and some other problems related to wifi connectivity. It may not always solve everybody´s
Correct, like I said this EAP610 from tp-Link Omada does not support 6E with the 6GHz band. And eventhough it connects at outstanding speeds in wifi 6 (most of wifi 6 is located a the 5 GHz band) and as you may've been able to watch in our other videos, even at hospots and capive portals results in a very powerfull wifi network.
It is nothing special, always use main connector, you can just press it firmly considering that it is a coaxial connector. Important to apply force in a uniform manner. To disconnect it try to do it with a pair of small pointed pliers or even better using a pair of tweezers if available. Sorry about not helping witht he video.
Hii , i have dell Inspiron 3541 pcie wlan card which was 2.4ghz , i want to upgrade it to 5ghz , will my mother supports the 5ghz pcie card , please reply
Your computer as I can see from its original specs features a PCIe mini card. It might be able to run WiFi 6E with this card (amzn.to/46ZuIk3 ) , however make sure you can return it in case it doesn't. We have done this with similar computers, but there is nothing certain about this proceedure. Good luck with your project.

@@TechnologyMomentsThank you so much for the response and I'm looking forward to the video.
My current card is key E CNVio, but not sure if it supports regular pcie (if it's not support pcie I assume I'm stuck with the current card).
The seller said BE200 won't work because my 9th gen intel not support CNVio2 (?)
Seller doesn't allow return so I'm afraid it will be a waste if it's not working 😄
Thanks for the video, in near time I wanna try AX210 in my old HP Elitedesk 800 g2 tiny (from 2015)
How do you think what chances that it will works?
It most probably will and you'll get overall greater file transfer and browsing performance. Just make sure it is M.2 and not PCIe mini (a bit older but also available). We've used both and both work great. Links to the newest hardware versions are in the description of both videos.
Will intel wifi killer 1675x work on AMD R7 5800H laptop processor? Thanks in advance for the response 🙂
Hi, your processor was launched in 2021... pretty recent, so the motheboard should support these NGFF cards, and of course the 6E model you mention.
@@TechnologyMoments thanks for the response! I see, wifi card compatibility depends on the motherboard, not on the similarity of the company of my processor and wifi card haha.
Thank you so much! Much appreciated!
Hii Sir, Nice video.
You didn't connect to 6E , just 6 @ 5Ghz
Correct, like I said this EAP610 from tp-Link Omada does not support 6E with the 6GHz band. And eventhough it connects at outstanding speeds in wifi 6 (most of wifi 6 is located a the 5 GHz band) and as you may've been able to watch in our other videos, even at hospots and capive portals results in a very powerfull wifi network.
You just have to have a modded bios
Yes. Most laptops will just detect the card without further configuration.
these cards are intel not amd compatible
Correct. Something similar to what's happening with WiFi-7
Nothing explains how to actually connect the wire to the card. Another useless video
It is nothing special, always use main connector, you can just press it firmly considering that it is a coaxial connector. Important to apply force in a uniform manner. To disconnect it try to do it with a pair of small pointed pliers or even better using a pair of tweezers if available. Sorry about not helping witht he video.
Does it increase wifi speed on a old wifi laptop
Sure that is exactly what we were able to prove even with PCIe mini cards in older laptops. The new model has some new betterspecs. (amzn.to/3KO8rf9 )
Hello i got an asus E410MA That has 9461ngw intel wifi card Does an 9560ngw that has 2x2 while my laptop has 1x1 would it work with just 1x2
Yes it will. You'll only not reach higher speeds 2x2 can achieve.
Thank you for answering.
