My mother has one from 2019 that just has N. I got her an AX200 and a second antenna since her laptop just had one. On my laptop I just ran it to an unused part of the case and taped the excess cable down once I got it connected. It is nice that I was able to do that because I don't want to mess with the display bezel or anything like that. WiFi upgrades should be easy and not a complicated thing that calls for total disassembly of the computer. I just don't like messing with the display at all because it is very easy to permanently damage something. It can also be easy to forget how to put that mess back together.
Some older laptops may have a larger antenna jack on their WiFi card. If it is a mini PCI express (not to be confused for m.2) it might have a different size connector. It may LOOK similar but the antennas for newer WiFi cards are unlikely to fit them.
they are two different sizes and you can find adapter wires to go back to Mini Pci cards from the new cards. Ipex is the old standard, MHF4 is the smaller newer standard. amazon has adapter cards for older laptops that require this.
You need to review your laptop specs. If it is interchangeable you would use a ax200 chip or similar. An example would be: www.amazon.ca/Intel-AX200NGW-2400Mbps-802-11ax-Bluetooth/dp/B07SL21GLL/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=intel+dual+band+wireless+ax200ngw&qid=1644957443&sr=8-4

From the Intel website "The connector interface of the Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 is PCIe and there is no need for a specific processor for general use. @@syarifairlangga4608 I did realise a boost in speed after changing the cards, I'm getting 68mbps out of my rated 50 mbps speed on 5Ghz band. The speed boost might not be obvious. Moreover, ax200 does not have the driver issue like ac9560 has. The ac9560 I had will fail randomly and it's very frustrating. Great video. On thing, my Mini-PC has black goop (glue?) over the 2 antenna connections, to hold them down I guess. How do I remove it? Does it just melt with a soldering iron? Do I just pull? I have not seen this addressed on any of the Wi-Fi Install videos.
If it's soldered on then you would have to go through the process to remove them and solder them on. You have to b very careful or you can ruin them. I would be inclined to just get a dongle. If it's some form of goup that I have never seen before then it is another question.
How do i update my PC's wifi5 card to 6? it's behind the motherboard I/O shield..
i'm not sure. What model is it?

Looks like a job and a half. The link has someone walking through the process.

you might want to go with an adapter instead. www.amazon.com/Internal-Computer-Networking-Cards/b/ref=dp_bc_aui_C_5?ie=UTF8&node=13983711
@@NikosRentas thank you brother. you're a legend.
lol thanks! working towards it.
Can the ax200 be used to replace ac 9560 on my rog strix g g531?
Yeah it seems you can. I looked it up and found this video: ua-cam.com/video/s3OJHUeosf4/v-deo.html
The description seems to have it listed
@@NikosRentas Ah thank you for searching it up for me. I already took the risk and replaced it with ax200 a week ago. It worked perfectly. Seems like my laptop supports Pcie wifi cards as well, good to know.
That's awesome!
@@raedrusding8359 how is the speed sir?
Is it same with old card?
@@syarifairlangga4608 I did realise a boost in speed after changing the cards, I'm getting 68mbps out of my rated 50 mbps speed on 5Ghz band. The speed boost might not be obvious.
Moreover, ax200 does not have the driver issue like ac9560 has. The ac9560 I had will fail randomly and it's very frustrating.
In short, I only recommend u to switch to ax200 if u have driver issues with the ac9560 or u have a wifi 6 router at home. Otherwise, u don't have to change it since ac9560 is also a powerful card.
Note: Make sure your PC or laptop motherboard is compatible before changing the wifi card.
is the intel ax210 good?
If I was going for a new card and know I will be upgrading my router to the new WIFI6e when they come out over the next year, I would probably go for the WIFI6e. This will be the new standard so it's worth upgrading depending on the price.
I'm just leaving the link here to intel incase someone ever reads this comment. ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/204836/intel-wifi-6e-ax210-gig.html
hi Nikos I am from nepal and my wifi only upto 100 mbps but I upgrade to 250 mbps they said it's not posible to change it's old lap top inspiron 15 3000 dell icore 7 8th gen
Who said it isn't possible? You should check to see the exact specs of the laptop. Check out the exact model number and see what chip is inside currently before making a judgement call. Either way, i am not sure how much of an effect your speed will have with wifi 6 unless you are using it for internal network.
can i upgrade my wifi 4 card to 6?
You should be able to as I have someone who just did it. Depends on the laptop you are using of course. I would look up the specs and double check that you can.
@@NikosRentas Hi, now my b550 with m2 slot is equipped with a wifi 5 chip, can I fit any wifi6 chip? Does the motherboard have to be compatible with WiFi 6 or does it just need to have the m2 chip? Thanks
Will it work with acer nitro gtx 1050
I am not sure what the exact model is but it seems there are videos with these types of laptops and you can upgrade. Google the model and upgrade wifi and you should see videos come up as well as forums. This is an example video showing the inside of that type of laptop where you can see the card and it looks like it is the same type. Some forums confirmed it but you need the exact model. ua-cam.com/video/z2fZbRpFgYg/v-deo.html
Literally biggest help
Compatibility is no so simple take care cnvio protocol only compatible with ax201 and ax211 that are only compatible with>10th gen. Sometime not good with old pc.
So you only need to change the wifi card but you don't need to change the antennas? Interesting
Yeah, your antennas are fine. You are just replacing the chip. I am not sure if the newer laptops have different wire types but the speed is there with the original.
Turns out the clips on my laptop were busted. They were taped to the connectors on the Wi-Fi card that came with my laptop. It’s probably one reason the Wi-Fi on my laptop never really worked well.
Serious eh? So do you have to rewire the antennas or did you manager to clip them on somehow?
@@NikosRentas I actually don’t know if the clips were busted. I’m taking it to my local Best Buy to get it checked out. Anytime I’ve seen the Wi-Fi card when someone opens up a laptop in a video there isn’t any tape. That’s why assume they are busted but I’m not sure. This should be a simple procedure! Thanks for the reply.
I would just solder the clips on. By the time you’re at a point to replace the WiFi card again, I’m sure you’ll have a new laptop by then anyway.
