- I decided to start 2020 off great with some extreme decluttering Marie Kondo style. I learned a lot from this experience using the Konmari method of decluttering and organizing and I am excited to have such an organized and tidy home.

We did the Marie Kondo 2 years ago and this year we did The Minimal Mom decluttering and it took our lifestyle up a whole other level. Our quality of life is SO much better now! Stuff = Stress. Everything you keep, you have to mange and that equals more work for you. Great Video!

This is satisfying to watch. I enjoy watching cleaning/ decluttering videos.
The hardest part for me was clothes when only three items sparked joy and one of them didn't fit (too small) so using that method I'd have ended up with just two items of clothing. Once I was past that the rest was easy. I've kept it up for four years now.
I'm so excited for you Cara! I stumbled on MK a year after I got married, we had combined all of our possessions into one 600 square foot Victorian with no closets and I felt like I was going to lose it every day. Now it's been almost 6 years and with practice we've been able to let go of so much more. I found you guys just over a month ago as my annual S.A.D. here in the PNW, so I love that you are making these videos. Finally after decades of struggling we're going to move to a warmer climate and I am excited and terrified, but mostly excited.
I definitely don’t do the “thank your stuff” part of this but I LOVE the way she folds the pants etc. it mays SO MUCH MORE SENSE to be able to actually see what you have. The other way, things are pancaked on top of each other and you have to dig thru things to even see what you have. I’ll never go back.
Whew. Looked like a lot of work. Great end result! After I organize it makes me think twice about buying more stuff. My husband is all into Marie Kondoing his clothes. He really down sized and organized. But I like folding my clothes retail style.. In flat stacks. My husband packed my suitcase for me on my last disney trip and everything was folded with the kondo fold. 😂 I'm a little superstitious that if I get rid of maternity clothes that's when I'll need them again. Luckily we got rid of a lot of books and blu rays when we had to baby proof everything, but now I feel the need to Marie Kondo the toys every month! It is never ending!
I appreciate when people truly commit to decluttering feather than just getting rid of a couple things.
