- Geeked out HARD on this amplifier deck plate. I saw some jeepers online making them out of plastic and wood. I figured I'd give it a try out of metal. It should last a long time and also act as a heatsink. I got it finished just in time to go wheeling last Sunday. Was nice having tunes on the trail. Overall it came out to around 7.5"x 5.5" The amp used was a kenwood kac m3001 and LC-1 sub control knob. Thanks for checking it out.

This is awesome. I got an alpine MRV 500 mono amp with 10 inch sbv wra sub under the passenger, both arriving soon. I hope this amp fits under the column like yours. Really clean and safe, out of site. Great stuff.

Really like this set up I daily drive my jeep and happen to be looking at a good spot to mount a amp that would not be easily found or seen for when I take the doors off

You might want to protect the rca cables over time they will rub through. Very clean install.
They have very little movement. I have them secured pretty good.
I replaced the speakers in my jeep because they were clipping, starting to think it’s an amp problem bc they still clip. Could I just replace the factory amp with one like this? Not sure how that works
Won't work on TJ's (04 at least) they have a large metal strap under the steering wheel that protrudes down so you cant put the amp under it. you might be able to put one left to right (length) if you find a small enough AMP. I just mounted mine behind the Double din Android unit (slim) in the dash. Still a nice clean install.
Can you make a few more of those amp mounts and list them for sale?
Any idea if something similar can be done for a jl?

This is awesome! What thickness aluminum did you use? Do you have any issues with it bouncing or flexing being held at just one end?
Thank you. It’s 16 gauge aluminum and haven’t had any issues but technically I haven’t hit bumps while looking directly at it. If I had to do it again I would have gone thicker just for piece of mind.
What year jeep is this and where did you originally find the location of the factory amp?

Thank you. I used 16 gauge but if I had a real metal brake I’d go a tiny tiny bit thicker.

Do you have an amp powering your other speakers or just the deck power? This amp only for the sub?
Yes the amp from the Kenwood KAC-M1824BT receiver is powering the other speakers. So one amp for the 10” sub and one amp for the deck. Just look up Kenwood KAC-M1824BT and you’ll see what that came with. I built a rack for that amp and mounted it in the dash just behind where the stock headunit once was
