There's a rubber lip that attaches to the cement where your door meets the floor and another 1/2 round rubber that mounts to the bottom of the door - both designed to keep critters and weather out (& fixes the gap.)

It's looking good Adrian, especially with all that shelving. Like the fact that your mother thought she needed to come over to keep the peace, then no doubt told her husband to get over there as well. 🤣😂
From experience your right to level of the base so the door is flush, but I would also fit a rubber seal to the bottom of the roller door, it would definitely stop any water getting in. They are a bit stiff to fit and you can get 3 metre lengths from Amazon. Also if you want to make it even better you can get brush seals for the sides, they will also stop any rattles when wind gets up. 👍

Spotted the boss man inspecting the work, he even had the stick in case he needed to put manners on the “ boys “ , the great thing about working with family is that you can get into a bit of a row and no one cares or gets into a huff, well most of the time anyway, a bit of advice when it comes to putting up lights put up twice what you think you need, there’s nothing as bad as working in a shadow or having to get out the phone to shine a light on something for the sake of an extra light or two and the new led fluorescent type lights are as cheap as chips to run but do get dimmer over time.

There’s a 5 hour difference between New York and Ireland. So most of your day is over while ours is just beginning. When I lived in Alaska it would of been a 9 hour difference. I stay away from the city, although I’ve been to a few places in New York City. It’s just too crowded for me. I’m glad you all had a good time while you were there. What about cutting a track in the floor where the door sits when closed it will allow the door down further on the high side allowing it to close fully on the low side. Saves you concreting to fill the gap and probably more security when the bottom of the door is in the ground.

If you want to get that oil stain out of the concrete, you could pour some methylated spirit on it, then set it alight, that would lift it out enough so that your floor paint will hold.
