I worked with a lot of Cavan men in England you wouldn't call them handy ,but I must say you the man 👍👍
The cleanest dairyfarmer quad, I have ever seen. Generally I have to wash quad battery tray/holder out. The drain hole would block up then fill up with dirt and rubbish, that lead to corroded battery leads. Great Vid👍
Love your faith, rebuilding the quad before trying it 😂😂😂. Got the right attitude, fix things when they go wrong and don’t let things build up until it’s a major issue that’ll cost a fortune 👍
Oh Adrian! You are so handy!!! Awesome! You have done just an excellent job taking care of that quad. It looks new. And, it purrs when it runs. I was thinking the solenoid when I heard the click, click, click. Good for you being able to buy a used quad with so much life.
Looking at you fixing that makes me think that I could do the same job, but then I wake up! Excellent video, keep up the great work.

I had same trouble with my trx420. Starter not as easy to get at compared to your 500. I had to remove the air box. But I got it done and brought it to Rudden where he told me the starter was fried !! 😳. So they ordered me a new one and had it next day. So great service from Ruddens and the 420 is back on the road or field should I say 😜. Great video 👍
Always something to give bother with kit on the farm. Sounds like Cavan county council is like Louth’s

Thank you for the video. This is very helpful. The new Honda's don't include that pull start anymore. You have to add it. After seeing this video I will be getting one put on the new quad. Thanks for sharing and showing us the troubleshooting and process for working on this quad.

It's your starter same thing happened me. Give your starter a few small taps of the hammer might get you out a spot

Clean battery leads or solinide mine did that battery lead was dirty there a pig to pull some times
Great vid we used to have a Honda 350cc quad and then we changed it to a John Deere gator and it is very safe and road legal
My quad is road legal and safe and its a 250 cc Honda
Ye but we found it is soo much safer because u can coup a quad very easily and it is so much more cumfy with suspension and u can through a bale of hay or straw in the back and u can go out in wet days and not get wet

Same thing happened my Honda 250 when I was carting sheep and I got the hammer gave the starter a tip and flew of again

By any chance did you leave it it gear before you turned it off because we had the same trouble where if you left it in gear then put it in neutral the next day and it wouldn't start because it was stuck in gear and would make the same starter noise as yours
No we often stop it in gear but always put it in neutral. If your quad won’t go into neutral, ours is Eletric shift
Quads are invaluable, best farm tool ever. Have you checked out the harmless farmer,,,, on UA-cam.
Take off the cover over the starter and give it a tip with a hammer 🔨 if in trouble. That’s exactly what happened to my quad. We have exactly the same one they are the handiest machines on the planet
Pull start it that happened out quad it sounds the same it's the starter

Ya don’t really know what to think of them, great cab visibility but don’t like that gap between the bonnet and cab 🤢
I had a couple days of that happened to me foreman 500 but I just wiggled the wires and charged the battery and away it went and never done it again and that’ll be 2 year ago that happened
But there’s always that chance when u really need it, be no harm to clean all the terminals and especially the Earth 👌
IFarm WeFarm we don’t really need to as we hav a spray gel for electric connections that’s stickier than grease which preserves the lead terminals and There’s stainless steel connectors on the ends of the terminal wires which helps a bit

Adrian the best stuff for tracks is the planings when they rip up tarmac to put down new stuff , and it's free as the contractors doing it are happy to get rid , when u put it down it sets hard hard like concrete , keep an eye for any resurfacing work goin on near by 😉

@@IFarmWeFarm I use plastic bread trays out of a local bakery, bungeed down. Free and you can have different trays for different jobs.
