- Quadrophenia is the sixth album by the English rock band The Who. Released on 19 October 1973, Quadrophenia is a double album, and the group's second rock opera. Its story involves social, musical, and psychological happenings from an English teenage perspective, set in London and Brighton in 1964 and 1965. The name is a variation on the incorrect popular usage of the medical diagnostic term schizophrenia as multiple personality disorder to reflect the four distinct personalities of Jimmy, the opera's protagonist-each said to represent the personality of one member of The Who. The title also referenced the Quadraphonic sound schemes then being introduced.
Songs Included:
09) IS IT IN MY HEAD?
10) I'VE HAD ENOUGH
Enjoy the Quad. series. Feel free to comment and rate, and even feedback about my series. Thanks!
Pete Townshend has said that this album was some of the best music that he ever wrote. I say that it's some of the best music ANYONE ever wrote.
Actually, it's the best music ANYONE EVER WROTE!!!
Amen to that!
I've had psychiatric issues for as long as I can remember. I've been so lonely. When I first listened to this album, it felt so much like my own inner feelings were sung, I cried for a long time.
I feel you
I'm soooo obsessed with this album! I loved it as a kid too, but now I can really appreciate it so much more. It truly is a masterpiece!
what a song writer/composer pete is!
love Moon the way he pounded the drums.
My wife wanted to marry him
I saw 👀 Keith Moon @ the Boston Garden “ great “ drumming
The words are so clear, unlike the junk of today!
That little outro solo starting at 3:03, subtle but beautiful
The line in i've Had enough that kills me is "I've had enough of street fights, I've seen my share of kills!" Jimmy is only 18! It was peacetime! He shouldn't have had to witness any kills! 😢💔 No wonder he drove off beachy head. I'm glad they changed the movie so Jimmy lives.
Loved this album since the first time I heard it. I loved somebody writing, singing, raging about the pain I felt. That was then. Now I'm old enough to be the parents of every teenager and young adult alive. I've been where you are today. Life gets better.
This may sound square, but my best advice? Love the Who. But ALWAYS be true to yourself. Make good friends who will respect you first. Stay far away from drugs, no matter how you think they are. Get educated. Change the world.
2 awesome tracks from a Masterpiece Album. Thanks.
She asked Ringo if he was a MOD or a ROCKER?
He said..."No...I'm a MOCKER"
This is one of the best albums ever made...true story.
I'm also a fourteen year old mod. Nothing has improved my life more. I have goals, an idea, and something in my life to love. It's my way of life. Keep the faith.
moons drumming is rapid fire on this album ,take cover !
Anyone WHO.. has any doubts about the Great Music on this LP.... just these 2 songs as a sample should tell anyone that can hear.... The Music is just just just.... Amazing!

Just the fuckin best !!!
Evokes such strong memories of a 15 year old me as my English teacher gave this to me and I played it all the time -still feel guilty I've not given him it back so if you're out there........ taking my 15 year old daughter to see show in Glasgow will be funny to see how she feels - anybody want to swap seated tickets for dancing ones??
Strange but wonderful quality plays like not a lot else here on YT - so thanks for your upload & for sharing.
I dream of all the calls I miss

@benabz You nailed it. Those verses starting at 2:36 are among the most powerful in any rock album that I am aware of. And what voice but Daltry's could bring it to it's full potential? Gives me chills.
Springsteen worte some pretty powerful phrases in Born To Run. The one in my mind is in the middle of Jungleland.
there are rallys every year in brighton, im 16 and i attend them
I remember being 20 and me and a mate went to a party. He got off with a gir,l i found this Album and got pissed on my own listening to it on headphones. It seemed to fit my low mood.
Holy shit! Thank u man.

I had my share many graves ago. Don't know if I can handle the last one.
The overwhelming amount of ads you are subjected to just to listen through one song is ridiculous.
@JasonBonitati haha mod has gone where it belongs under ground. im happy teens are finding the mod image cuz lets be honest we feel better knowing we're different. in a strange way, a bit like quadrophenia :P
@Mods130
I didn't know Mods still existed lmao. I thought it was just one of those movements that didn't last long, kinda like Disco lmao.

Good pieces... but with some gaps
I walk'n'the people turn & laughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Uh, the ending is what's known as melodramatic. I don't dislike it, but it kinda screams obvious to me.

@JasonBonitati Quite the contrary... They somewhat still exist, but they remain hidden. I'm actually a mod myself. Don't believe me? Try checking out my video on my channel. You'll see the the bike in one of 'em. Well. I'm around my 20's and I still consider myself a mod. It's about being freakin' free mate! :D
