The constitution doesn't include a private business doing things. Not that I agree with it, because I am a free speech absolutist. But there is plenty of evidence this happened under the Trump admin as well, because it's NOT ILLEGAL.
You want it to be, then get your reps to codify it. But just know you're on a slippery slope to big government when you start using legislation to tell private businesses how they should conduct themselves.
Biden and his White House have their Own Right to Free Speech as well.

Might be because it's more of a gray area per the first amendment than first described in Hawley's original hypothetical. He implied books being banned, and she agreed. The case itself was over censorship of misinformation and disinformation in social media posts. Still questionable at best, but there are first amendment arguments both ways on the issue. Freedom of speech is not without limits. It has long been held by courts that you CAN be held accountable for specific types of speech, including those that create an imminent danger to others or society as a whole.
Given the amount of false information (on both sides of the covid debate) and the very palpable dangers that the confusion created, this exact case was best left for a Judge to decide.

Can someone take their time to compress some information for me - what is the actual power of the Senate and these hearings? I have followed these videos for a while and it only seems like a really good reality show. It looks like justice prevails, but no actions are ever taken when horrible horrible deeds were done. These interviewees just go back to their jobs making more money and 90% of the US people.

I'll try, i'm no lawyer or expert but i believe Senate or Congress can investigate and subpoena witnesses to hearings but they can only offer up referrals to the justice dept to take action. The hearings are for the public to see what is being investigated, the folks being interviewed by the senate or congress if they commit perjury can be referred to the Justice Dept but congress has no power to arrest anyone.

In a nutshell; the House of Representatives conducts the investigation into the alleged crimes. Think of this phase somewhat like a pre-trial hearing for a defendant in a criminal matter. The House is looking for probable cause that a crime was committed. If the House finds that there is sufficient evidence to support a criminal charge, the charges are then forwarded to the Senate where the trial occurs. If found guilty in the Senate the findings are provided to the justice department for enforcement.

Only thing I wish he would have asked for a follow-up was after talking of the judge's decisions, if that changed her own personal opinion after hearing what he just had said.... Questions have to be framed perfectly so the weasel politicians can't get out of them, and it IS VERY important to get their opinions for the record, so the voters understand their views!
