The Congress has no executive authority to make arrests or try/sentence people, and the Congress is too divided along party lines to do anything legislatively. They do their research, deliver their reports, collect their insane fees and move on. If anything happens to their recommendations, the blame has always been placed on the company.

Why can't I vote for Hawley to be president? I like what he's doing here. I heard him speak for several minutes without devolving into ridiculous sentence fragments or forgetting where he was. Can I just pencil his name in? I really don't want to pick between Biden or Trump again, and it looks like that is the garbage decision I'll have in front of me again this year.

Most people aren't extremists, and every year the candidates put forward are excluding more and more people. The middle do have different interests but they're not so irrational that they'll stick to red vs blue. Give me 8 years to put this all together, yellow party, president Potato, vice president AI, running on the platform of direct democracy filtered through the representatives and forced by presidential order when faced with blatant official corruption or public mania.
