I’m in the Uk and watch a lot of these enquiries , your FBI has too much power and is really frightening , it ought to be disbanded, but I don’t see how anyone will do that as it is a political weapon against the people
If a citizen misremembers something when talking to the FBI, this can be used to put that person in prison for decades. If the FBI systematically violates civil liberties through illegal searches, then there is an unspecified disciplinary process which is supposed to make it better. The FBI agents who did this should be imprisoned

They can, but the FBI generally makes sure you tell them why answered the question the way you did and they make you repeat it so it can be stated that you were in no way "tricked" into giving that response. I have to assume it's being done for votes and publicity. Because, if the Republicans were serous, they would just refuse to fund the FBI, or greatly reduce it's funding. That's the only power they have over the FBI, and when they don't use it, you know it was all for show.

In fact Trump has been investigated for tons of crimes and every investigation not only was Trump acquitted, but his accusers ended up facing criminal or civil penalties because they exposed they committed the crime they accused Trump of.
