I bought the GTS to be able to cycle and run without a heart rate strap, knowing that wrist heart rate is always less accurate because it relies on optical changes in bloodflow in your wrist veins, while a heart rate strap measures electrical pulses (which powers your heart). The problem I find with wrist heart rate is that it doesn't detect quick changes: if I would exit my door and start running immediately, my heart rate would rise from 60 (my resting heart rate is around 55) to 140 in a matter of minutes. This change is to big for the Amazfit, so it shows something like 90-110 (I compared this to my chest heart rate). The way to solve this is to warm up, and then stop for a minute so the watch can track your heart rate again, and after that you can start running and the heart rate is fairly accurate. Only if you're suddenly sprinting (on any device, could also be indoor) your heart rate spikes and again your watch won't catch up. I think this is the case for most wristbands (I used the Mi Band 3 before my GTS), but it might be the watch itself. The biggest downside I found is the GPS tracking. If you're around buildings or want to run in the citycentre, expect nothing. It takes minute to find your location and even if it's located you it's still only tracks within a 10-20 meter radius. This means that when I'm running my pace is all over the place (on my first run I broke the world record 400m on Strava) and pace is really useless. Only in rural areas it is accurate. So if you try to run or bike with it, heart rate is the only measurement that's fairly accurate. I live in Europe, and GPS is better in the US so that might be different, but for this price I would expect a GPS sensor at least as good as the GPS sensor in a phone, or a good accelerometer that is used in the running option. GLONASS is the European version of GPS, and that's coming in the coming year, so hopefully this might change accuracy for Europe. Sleep tracking is very accurate, because your heart rate doesn't vary that much and you lie still in bed (usually). This is definitely a plus for this watch. Overall: don't buy the watch if you want accurate fitness tracking, do buy it if you want a beautiful design, nice screen and good sleep tracking. PS For me fitness tracking was the most important, so I focus on that.

Hi, I'm very surprised. I had a Amazfit GTR previously that I sent back to the seller because of the crappy GPS. I bought then for me a Stratos 3 and and a GTS for my wife. and for both the GPS work very well. What's strange is when I had my GTR is some people were saying that the GPS was not always very accurate but never had fix issue, whereas for me I had both problems : fix issue and reliability problem. My guess is, As the GPS seems to be the same on both watch may be there is a serie of bad GPS unit or a default in some of their assembling chain.
I think I will go buy one tomorrow. Only question I have is can i use my wireless earbuds alongside the watch? Can I connect both devices to my phone at the same time ?
Hi Lim, since you've used it for a month now, can I know how's the vibration strength? I depend a lot on being alerted by the watch via the vibration. Can you safely say that it is noticeable such that you won't miss any pushed notifications? I have the BIP now but must say that at times I miss out feeling on the vibration and that is despite me using the Notify app. Hope u can help so that I can decide on getting the GTS or not.
How is the sleep tracking? is it an improvement over the MI Band 4? Also the ambient display, can you have it off and just use the raise the wrist gesture? Great review by the way. I have the Global version coming in a few weeks.
Hello Sulman! 1. Sleep tracking is not very accurate. Some days I wake up feeling like shit but the watch says I had a great sleep. I suggest you just try and sleep early every night. 2. Yeah you can definitely turn off ambient display and just use the raise-to-wake feature. That increases your battery life significantly. About 10 days more 😉
Can we change straps? I mean can we replace with the straps from the regular watch like Fossils? I am thinking to buy a 1. Is it better than Fitbit versa 2? Lastly how accurate is this in steps counts and other things? Thanks

My GTS is so slow waking up that I am now looking for another watch, I regret buying it. Lifting your wrist to look at the time often fails to wake the screen and you have to press the button. A delay, and the use of two hands just to tell the time is making an old analogue watch look pretty amazing.
The global version was sold in gearbest previously - but they removed it. Alternatively you may purchase in Aliexpress - not too sure if they send it to US though but you can check it out.

Still GPS has issues on GTS watch after the latest updates? I had Amazfit stratos watch earlier, and it took time to sync to GPS. But Amazfit BIP syncs to GPS within 15 seconds.

no I can't because it don't have a speaker or microphone or an app store if you want to listen to music then use your phone, then the watch will show you some music navigation screen for volume control and skip/previous song if you want something that can play Spotify right on the watch then get an Samsung gear 2 or Samsung watch active I think all 3 of them are kind of in the same price range
A nice looking watch but another one I could not own due to the touch feature. These things have a mind of their own when I'm out in the rain or if I am sweating they just start turning on and off and changing modes on their own! Can we get back to physical buttons please?

I love this watch. I ordered a different iwatch-style wristband for it because I really am not a fan of the stock wristband.
Cool. The best thing about these watches is that you can find really awesome 3rd party straps at affordable prices.

Of course you can! It uses a standard 22mm strap so you can swap it for any other alternative you find online.

Both GPS modules are similar. You’ll need to be a bit patience with the GPS as it takes awhile to lock on to your location. Footsteps count is fine :)
