I completed a 36 hours Mt.Kenya challenge with this watch. Charged the watch friday night, continuously used it for around 2 days and still had 10% battery on Monday. When 100% the watch gives 26hours of GPS activity!! Great watch

I Started running in January trying to lose 30lbs. I was holding my phone while I run but that gets old fast. Winning this would be amazing. My son runs cross country and one day it would be nice to be able to keep up with him. Fingers crossed... great video.

This is still good in 2021 for a budget smartwatch! It is on sale now here for 69 euros which is a good deal! i saw some gts 2e review and not much has changed from this gts ergo this is a good steal rather than gts 2e for 99 euros. Thanks again for the review man!

I just started running for fitness last year and had a Amazfit Bip which was fine. I upgraded to this watch this year. I totally concur about the font colors when running! I only run a couple of miles 3-4 times a week. The treadmill is not that accurate but it does seem to learn after a few tries. I did synch mine to Strava and perhaps since your video they have improved it but all my activities including treadmill walks and runs synch. I usually have to charge it once a week(I charge it when it reaches 40% so could go longer). In all a pretty nice watch with the few caveats you've outlined.

The orange font on black is a real bummer. I am debating whether returning it for the Bip S. save 60 dollars. Even if lower resolution the white font on black is more legible. They should have a black on white option.
Yeah really weird. I'm not sure who made that decision haha.
@@ChaseTheSummit i wrote them. That is something that could easily be adjusted. But orange is legible in the green water of the North Atlantic. but illegible when running at night.

I like the battery life! I would give it to my daughter. She’s getting ready to leave for college and has just started to get into running. It would be nice for her to have stats.

I love it and i definitely wouldn't mind having this. I've debated this for a while but the big thing for me is the gps and using it for running. great review as always and keep em coming!
I'm looking for an upgrade to my Amazfitbip. I was looking at the apple line but I just want a watch that will track my steps and get notifications for text messages. I believe this GTS will work for me and my budget.

First off, great in depth review. I subscribed some time ago and have liked a lot of your videos since.
My wife has been on a Garmin Vivofit for the last two years and it just bit the dust. I would be passing this on to her as she would benefit from it. It would be a great upgrade from the old monochrome screen that really just counted steps and did a so-so job tracking her workouts. She would love a color screen.

Great review! I'm thru hiking all 2650 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail this year and I leave in April. I've been looking for a good tracker/ watch to bring along with me. I'd like to keep track of how many footsteps it takes to get from Mexico to Canada. Keep producing the stellar content and thanks for all you do!

Your reviews are hands down some of the best, I'm subscribed and the most athletic thing I do all week is walk to the grocery store, that should tell you something.
Regarding the watch, is there a low-power always-on mode where the screen is active all the time but is dimmed down? Currently using the Amazfit Bip which is almost half the size of the GTS and the battery still lasts for 20+ days, which is insane for a smart-watch that costs less than 80 bucks.
Thanks so much! Yes Amazfit actually did update the watch to include an always on display via Firmware. Unfortunately it really kills the battery life turning 2 weeks into 2-3 days, Also it's kind of weird having a glowing display on your wrist all day long. Hope that helps! Thanks again for watching.

It has a GPS chip internally, no phone needed. You cannot make phone calls or view images on the watches display. It simply alerts of incoming calls or notifications. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

I would use this watch to improve my fitness and also for light smartwatch capabilities since I work in an environment were phones are not used at all times

Same with Fitbit and strava. Only gps activities will sync. Period. If your outdoor run didn’t record a gps track for some reason on a fitbit it wont sync with strava

You can actually sync your runs with strava!

Me and my mom r using miband4, and we are very satisfied with it. But i think it will better for mom to have bigger screen and better design. Only if it is allowed to received it from Korea (Not the North one lol). It was such a great review of GTS!

Would you go into a small bit of detail and tell me how to do the functions for sleep tracking? Also, how do I get to the fitness activity list?
Sleep tracking on the Amazfit GTS is pretty basic. It tracks your sleep and breaks it down into sleep phases in the app like “light sleep, deep sleep, rem sleep”. Hope that helps.

This is the exact same price as the Forerunner 35. What would you prefer just for running? This is for my dad. He needs distance and heart rate. Nothing else.
And can you track separate laps with it to see the lap pace during an interval?
The Forerunner 35 is a better dedicated running watch. The GTS is a better "smart watch" which one is more important to him?

Is it possible to use the GTS without a mobile phone at all? During his runs, he does not carry his phone.

Doesn't measure BP. Screen is 1.4" diagonally
I just purchased this watch (I upgraded from an older version of amazfit) and I love it. The only thing I cannot figure out is how to set it to buzz after every mile. Any idea how to do this?

It can't be an alternative to the apple watch, unless you carry an I-Phone, This works with both system but the I-Watch works only with IOS and the battery last foe 1 to 2 days max.
I'm waiting for the day that Apple allows android users to use their watches. I don't understand why they don't allow it. They'd sell a lot more watches!

So here's a question for you. I am a hard core runner. i run a lot and do a lot of gym. but i am also really looking at this because of the 150$. so at that price, features and accuracy is that watch worthy for a good amount of running and working out?
The sub-200 market is tough. There are sacrifices on almost every option. It will get the job done. But I think the Amazfit Stratos might suit you better for $20 more. It has more running specific features and much better battery life. You can read my review on that here:

Guess what? I didn't click on this video to win this watch and still watched the whole video! LOL :-P I'm just evaluating all the options at all price points and this watch and the newer GTS 2e came across my radar, even in September of 2021. I really have my eye on the Garmin Venu 2, but the original Venu and Galaxy Watch 4 are contenders as well. I'm a health conscious tech guy, that does some walking, hiking, and paved road biking, (nothing too strenuous) so I like the "gadgets" and additional sensors that the GW4 has (keep in mind that I do own a Galaxy S21 Ultra phone, so I would be able to use all of the features), but I like the accuracy that the Garmin devices are known for. I'm just not sure I can justify the price of new Venu 2 over the original Venu, the GW4 (non classic, non LTE, 44mm), or even the Garmin Vivoactive 4.
Thanks for watching! The Amazfit options aren't bad for the money but the accuracy hasn't been amazing in my experience. The Venu 2 is a fantastic device but at $399 its certainly not a small investment. I recently tested the Galaxy Watch 4 and it's great if you have a Samsung phone but again... accuracy not great. tough call!
@@ChaseTheSummit, I really like the improved interface of the Venu 2 also. It's really the perfect device for someone like me, but that price is just a bit high. I've almost convinced myself to just get the original Venu for now since it can be bought for around 250 to 275 USD on Amazon for a refurbished model and I'm not missing much. UGH! Decisions, decisions. 🤷♂️😂
I need to correct myself in my last reply. The original Venu is only $270 USD for a NEW model right now on Amazon and even on the Garmin website. The Vivoactive 4 is even 20 bucks less on both sites. I may just go with the Vivoactive 4 because of the 22mm watchbands. Sounds petty, but that extra 2mm adds a TON of options and I already have a bunch of them laying around. It's pretty much the same watch as the original Venu except for the display. Hopefully the price on the Venu 2 comes down a bit in the future. I'd really like a Fenix 6 Pro, but that's a whole different price barrier. The F5X+ is also a great watch that can be found around $360 to 370 USD for refurbs. Anyway, I've rambled enough. As you can see, I've looked at quite a few watches and the ones mentioned don't even scratch the surface. Different models from Suunto, Coros, Polar, Fitbit, and other Garmin models were all considered also. Your videos have been very helpful in my quest for a new wrist gadget. Thank you for all the time and work that you put into them. I'll be clearing my browser cookies and using one of your affiliate links before making my purchase.
cheap watch with a good screen that goes all the way to the edge. looks good👍 it's more than garmin does. garmin and polar make for small screens and large watches.
There's trade offs. Garmin has larger watches because they're more water resistant and durable. Also, the technology in an OLED display like the Amazfit GTS allow it to be lower profile. Thanks for watching!

I don't believe V02 Max is measured on the GTS. You'd need something like an Amazfit Stratos for that.
Do you need to carry your phone along with you during your runs or can we use it without a phone ?
You can use it without a phone for GPS activities.

Pretty similar watches. The Amazfit has the advantage of having a GPS chip inside so you don't always need your phone on you to record activities. Hope that helps.

You should’t use 2 watches on the same arm at the same time. That is not a fair comparison because in order to measure a perfect pulse it needs to stay exactly above the wrist bone. Good review otherwise!

Can you use this watch for interval training? This utility is usually "inside" the Outdoor Running option...
Unfortunately it doesn't support intervals in the current firmware. There are "goals" for duration, distance, or calories. They could potentially roll this out via a firmware update. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

I don't believe the Amazfit GTS is capable of doing this. You should look at the Amazfit Stratos as more of a "outdoor sportswatch" which has GPX support. Thanks for watching!

my activities on the Amazfit GTS won't upload to Strava. They did before but now they won't annymore, do you have any advice?
I would try breaking the link and re-creating it. Possibly re-install the amazfit app. These things occasionally happen on all strava integrated watches. Hope that helps!

After 9 months, how is it?
I not longer wear it daily but I did for a few weeks. It's a pretty great device in terms of "smartwatch" stuff but I wanted a bit more out of it when it came to fitness modes. Hope that helps!
