My favorite song on the album, Child Of Vision. I rediscovered it on a trip with a girlfriend, my son and my dog to Ohiopyle, PA back in 2012...and it was played on WKVE, in its entirety. All 7 minutes and 26 seconds.
The best way to describe Supertramp is this, once you have enjoyed the lyrical and musical masterpiece that they've delivered to you and you are MORE than thoroughly satisfied then they come back at you and say "But wait, there's more".
Supertramp is full of so much talent. A true professional band of the highest order. This album was huge and so SOLID and some great stuff before and after as well. Rodger Hodgson's solo "had a dream" is a winner as well.
I was obsessed with this song as a kid, brings back the days of having to wait to hear your favorites come on the radio. Supertramp was such a great band, way ahead of their time.
My very favorite song by Supertramp! Love the line, "Some they do and some they don't, and some you just can't tell, and some they will and some they won't, and some it's just as well." Hilarious words by a player!
I love these 2 verses - You can laugh at my behaviour And that'll never bother me Say the devil is my saviour But I don't pay no heed And I will go on shining Shining like brand new I'll never look behind me My troubles will be few
❤Supertramp❤ They will blow you away......like nothing you have heard yet. Superb musicians. The entire Breakfast In America album is perfection. Take The Long Way Home and The Logical Song are epic.
Finally listened to the lyrics. Now that I am older. This guy is a hit 'em and quit 'em. Fell no sorrow, feel no pain, feel no shame. Goodbye Jane. Some they will, some they don't. He would be locked up in 2024. Great ending.
8:05 Supertramp is happy music. All of their songs are this good or better. "Asylum" and "Rudy" and " Give a Little Bit" are awesome. The entire LP Crime of the Century is so good.
Nor underrated by those who know music of the era. Over the last year or 2 I've been introducing my Grandson to music through my record collection and has begun collecting LPs (yes...vinyls). We bought him a starter stereo and a couple of records for his 18th Birthday. Breakfast In America and Todd Rundgren Something/Anything were those first 2 records. The young man has great taste and is off to a good start
The Breakfast in America album, which this came off, was an absolute monster. Four big singles off it - this, the title track, "The Logical Song", and - IMO the best - "Take the Long Way Home". Brilliant band with several great albums, all full of wonderful songs.
SAME except I was born 67. But yeah musical family got a lot of music from my mom who had millions of albums. But my brother introduced me 70s rock for sure he gave me all the albums. I was a really cool eight year old lol
I was single and in my 20's when this song came out. Used to crank it up on 8-track in my old Chevy pickup. And that guitar solo. Talk about shredding!
Supertramp was the first band I saw live. Amazing performance with their vocals sounding just like the album. That’s the talent “back then”. No voice manipulation to improve their quality. Raw talent. Skill.
This entire album is a classic. GS is a brilliant tune and in the top 10 of all Supertramp songs for good reason. I often wonder what it's like to hear all this amazing music, one day after the other. For many of us, it took many years or multiple decades-as the songs were originally released-to hear all of this classic music. I'm glad I heard a lot of it as it was first released but there is a part of me that envies being able to hear it all in a few years time (or however long it takes for each reaction channel). Just a thought that pops up from time to time.
"Crime of the Century" released five years earlier in 1974 is a MASTERPIECE Album! Listen closely and you can hear how that disc influenced Pink Floyd's "The Wall" in 1979 with its musical and lyrical themes. Happy Discovering Supertramp!
My older brother had this album. I was 10 when it was released and I've always loved it. The entire album is EPIC! The Logical Song has always been my favourite, at first because of the music, later for the lyrics, and now for both those reasons as well as for the irony of having sung "When I was young" at 10 years old! 😄🤣
In my personal all time top 10 songs, can't tell you how many times i listened to side one of this vinyl when it came out. Such a flawless album, please get to each and every track, they all deserve a listen! Great stuff as always, SG!
One of the greatest albums of all time

@@CodeBleu724 It's my favorite ST song. Just so powerful. Rick's piano solo is so melt-into-able.
You have been initiated! Welcome to Supertramp! So excited to see you react to this and to ideally "The Logical Song" and "Long Way Home".
Bloody well right
I think this is his 5th Supertramp song?
@@cmath377 yes!! definitely Bloody well right
"Supertramp" was so underrated. They have so many great songs you have to listen to.
Man this song takes me back to my youth. It was a great time to be alive in the 70s & 80s.
The first show I saw as 12-year-old in 1979 CNE Stadium Toronto, Canada
This entire song is a chef's kiss of musicality.

Every one I knew back in the day became an instant fan with Crime of the Century. :)
A top band who never got the critical acclaim they deserved
They had a lot of success in the UK, probably in Europe too, but not so much in the US
Are you related to Roger?
@@grahamkey8496 Not that I'm aware. I wish

That outtro !!
Fucking glorious..
Such a great album. Flawless, really. I go back to it on the regular.
Whole albums a masterpiece. Nice call man ☘️
Absolutely agree
Same album, do "Child of Vision"... Great album ender.
"Goodbye stranger, it's been nice, hope you find your paradise." I've always loved that line.
I love these 2 verses -

Shining like brand new
I'll never look behind me

One of the best guitar solo's ever.
❤the long way home❤
I spent many hours as a kid looking at album covers like this one
A lot art once they went from LP's to CD's and then to pretty much just streaming.
The best band !
Such a great unapologetic song about the love-'em-and-leave-'em lifestyle of a Rock & Roll star on the road.
Saying goodbye to weed not women, as some people always mistake it for...
@@thrusta100 Ever heard of double meanings? Although I agree with you, it’s clearly both.
Love the bass line on this song.
That lead guitar at the end is one of my all time favourite leads.
Fabulous song .
Supertramp will always be in my Top 5 favorite progressive rock bands of all time., along with Floyd, Rush, Genesis, and Yes.
My top 5 as well!
It is that good!
❤Supertramp❤ They will blow you away......like nothing you have heard yet. Superb musicians. The entire Breakfast In America album is perfection. Take The Long Way Home and The Logical Song are epic.
You said so well, Thx.

was lucky enough to have seen them in a very small venue in DC back in the 70s. they were fantastic.
So fun! Love Supertramp.
A masterpiece from start to finish!
Absolutely awesome tune, band and outro! Check out ”The logical song” 🥰
8:05 Supertramp is happy music. All of their songs are this good or better. "Asylum" and "Rudy" and " Give a Little Bit" are awesome. The entire LP Crime of the Century is so good.
I wouldn't exactly call Rudy and Asylum happy music, even if they do make me happy. Absolutely love Supertramp
@@ericwagner1824 I meant it makes me happy because it's so good. Some are happy lyrically. I don't think a song about being insane is happy.
Absolutely agree
SUPERTRAMP . tudo ai é hino 🎹🎶🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
That outro always sends chills down my spine!
Listened to this album over and over…
Great song and album.Their most popular album by far!
Logical Song is my favorite! 😊 But the whole album is a must have!!
A spectacular band with great musicians and wonderful lyrics!
So.
Good.
So good.
Supertramp is a top five band for me.
Wore that whole album out back in the day.
I think saving that badass guitar solo for the end of the song was the right thing to do.
Great song!!! Great Band!!! One of my all-time favorites!
Amazing music! Keep up the good work, music may save us all
I truly believe people were happier back in the day when good music was plentiful
One of the best songs ever :) loved it since I was a young guy when it was new. The whole album is a masterpiece.
You still need to do Even in the Quietest Moments, even just for yourself and Fool's Overture. Both Awesome
Arguably one of the greatest guitar solos of alltime!
My Gosh it was so beautiful past years ending 70's. One of my fav group!!
SO many good bands you have discovered. Welcome to the top tier!!!!
Classic album from this band. The best of theirs in my opinion.... Reminds me of the Summer of 79...Great memories 😊
Welcome to Supertramp!!!!
One of my favorite bands. Like the best of Steely Dan and Genesis mixed together and something even better comes out. More. Please.
I was 13 when this came out and actually still have the 45 record I bought in 1979
One of the most underrated albums of all time!!

Supertramp is an incredible band, they have so many hits, I've heard almost all of them, it's so wonderful.
Welcome to your new favorite band, enjoy!
YES! I’ve been waiting for this 😂😂😂
I now realize how lucky I was to be born in 1965 and have an older brother who introduced me to all these great bands from the 70's !
SAME except I was born 67. But yeah musical family got a lot of music from my mom who had millions of albums. But my brother introduced me 70s rock for sure he gave me all the albums. I was a really cool eight year old lol
Supertramp is scintillating!!!
Hi Fidelity with volume + any of their catalog = pure exhilaration!!!
Welcome to a giant rabbit hole Salvo😁😁😁😁😁😁
Breakfast in America ❤ was my introduction to Supertramp in 1979 as an 18 year old. Superb, transcendental, epic ❤
Child of vision, album version next please! If you haven't already, of course.
This is always a good listen.
Absolutely MONSTER album!
Such a great album, and 3 Top 40 hits off of it.
I was so excited to see this song come up, it just puts me in a good mood to hear it! 😊
One of my first albums ever I know every word to every song on this album
Recently played the album start to finish on a turntable... SO GOOD!
They have no bad songs!
Please, next time, watch them live. It's an experience! ❤

Pick any Supertramp song and you'll pick a winner, personal favourite "From Now On" haven't seen anyone react to it yet and it's magical
One of my first albums ever

This album is FULL of treasures! Still one of my favourite albums of all time. Love "Take the Long Way Home".
One of the best codas ever. Hodgson is such an underrated electric guitarist
❤ love the album Crime of the century about Supertramp. Great songs .
I usually like harder rock than this, but Supertramp is an awesome band with great music!
This group was insane. And Breakfast in America, one of the best albums ever produced.
Supertramp's music is very distinctive to say the least.
Great song choice.
The outtro is amazing.
"Sweet devotion's not for me, just give me motion, set me free" Great album! You might like "Even In The Quietest Moments"
Such a phenomenal album
Such a great song and album!
This entire album is fantastic...just like Boston's debut, dang near perfect! 😎🤘🔥 ("Lord is it Mine"-my absolute favorite)
Ah. You thought it was done. And then.....that guitar solo!
Huge record
Another great reaction as always. One of the best songs!
