Thank you sir- I just purchased the Orbit model that you suggested in place of the WaterMaster diaphragm and it works like a charm. Your video saved me much time and money, thank you!

Wow! I have a three-valve manifold system with Watermaster 3/4" valves and I was getting pretty pissed not being able to find anything to match up for a replacement diaphragm. Didn't want to have to replace the entire system just for a stinking diaphragm. You saved me an IMMENSE amount of headache, anger, and misery. Cheers!

Many thanks for sharing!!!!! Was about to call a sprinkler contractor to replace the whole valve. Then I ran across your video. The diaphragm costed about 4 dollars at Lowes. Saved me a bundle 😁

Calvin - thank you so much for the video! It answered a ton of questions for me, I also have the WaterMaster and wasn't sure what to buy. Irrigation guy wanted $125 to do this. He told me the parts were $50. Like Eric below, Home Depot had the part for $4.60. Awesome!

I wanted to say Thank You for posting this video with information. My part was leaking and of course there were no markings on the plastic. Thanks to you I was able to cross reference it and find the 57100 diaphragm at Home Depot. Total task cost me $4.60 and no more leaks!! thank you very much.

I have 2 of the same WaterMaster valves (about 20 years old) that were malfunctioning and replaced the diaphragms and solenoids to eliminate any issues from the valve. The diaphragm was a perfect fit even thought it had an ear on it that the original did not. Works like a champ, thanks for posting, it helped me find the correct part without a great deal of fuss and research. My valves in the front of my property use a different diaphragm (think its Irritrol ). I have replaced those and was surprised when I popped the valve cover and realized that I had installed different valves back there. They look almost identical but a different manufacturer. One tip for those who replace the white diaphragm, it left a lot of residue in the valve body and I had to go in with a tooth brush and dish soap to scrub it clean. I think that the gunk from the deteriorating valves may have been part of my issue.

Thank you for this video! I had a 20yo watermaster valve leak and this fix worked great.

Thanks for the video! Although Watermaster is no more, we can keep the valves working. If you take a diaphragm in for replacement to a sprinkler store without the exact Orbit replacement number, they might sell you something that fits but doesn't work ( I learned this the painful way). Notice in this video how there is a white plastic tab in the diaphragm? This lets the water pass to the top side of the diaphragm. That water is essential to provide the pressure to keep the valve closed. If you try to use a diaphragm with no penetration other than a small hole in the very center of the diaphragm it will not work in these Watermaster valves. The valve will not close.

Thank you very much for your troubleshooting. I have the exact one and was curious if the orbit was a good replacement. Truly outstanding.

This was helpful in that you kept that tiny white tab that goes through the replacement diaphragm in place (9 min mark). I'm not sure what it does since the old diaphragm doesn't have one; but I'm going to leave it alone anyway.

I have the watermaster valve. Still in great condition until the solenoids started to go bad. I can not find a replacement thats works for this particular valve. Im afraid im going to have to replace all my valves. Do you have any suggestions?

What model is this. My control valve is just like this one in video. The manual lever on mine broke. Just want to replace it. Otherwise the valve works well. Any knowledge as to where I can purchase one? This way I don't need to dig up everything then install a whole new valve.

billybob3627 This watermaster valve has no numbers on it, and I don't have a box that one come in. Orbit head with 8 screws has a different diaphragm, and the on/off manual valve is different than the WM. Lowes said they have no available parts for WM. If you do find a number for your valve post it here for others to search for parts.

Very good quality video presentation. My valve are 20 years old as well. You kind of mention designed failure which is a true statement. Design failure is present all the way to aerospace components. Through the process of replacing Solenoid, I am at the Diaphragms and found a suitable substitute for the watermaster as you illustrated. When finishing the R&Replacement and reinstalling the solenoid how much do we tighten it, and do we spin it back from tight so many turns? Thx, Don

Water Master is a Orbit brand name.

When you’re not sure, why the hell are you making a video?
