- How to replace the Diaphragm in a rain bird sprinkler valve. The diaphragms cost about 10 bucks you can buy the whole valve for 15 so you might want to do that. I never did this before the hardest part was cleaning up the area. Its six screws and just make sure its clear of debris and don't tighten the solenoid to tight use your hand and not a wrench.

Great! And I especially enjoy the profanity. You and I talk in a similar way.
Hey, thanks!
Me too
Great job, finally a real world fix. Thanks for the details. I loved the hearing pleasure in a job well done after 9:40.
Thanks
Hahahaha. Well done. So excited that he was cursing after finishing. Hahahaha
Finally got it done thanks for watching
Tighten the screws in a crisscross / star pattern or you might create a valve body leak.
Excellent advice thanks
Great! I have a leaking valve and I removed it and and checked for debris, cleaned them out and replaced the parts, Now when I turn on the valve there is a noice that the other valve don't have. Any ideas what the issue could be? Thanks.
Thats interesting have to research that one
likely the solenoid
I didn’t close my solenoid all the way and got wet when I turned the main water back on. Lesson learned
Whoops when you’re doing stuff with sprinklers, he usually do get wet. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
Thank God I don’t have to cut pvc pipe in a small box.
Good luck on your repair
question - how would you properly flush a valve in a valve box without filling valve box w water prior to changing the diaphragm - I noticed in your video it is not in a valve box
That is a good question I’ll have to do a little research on that
I replaced a leaking Rainbird diaphragm with a new valve from rainbird and that one leaks as well, my lawn is a swamp on one side of the yard. Any ideas on how to fix a new rainbird sprinkler valve?
Turn everything off and on again water and electric then try should top leaking
try reseating the diagram. Run an "on off" on your solenoid/vavle. Check your solenoid with a 9v battery. It should click if it is working.
sometimes you have to put a little electricity to the solenoid for the plunger to activate and close.
good tip
Maybe that’s what I did wrong
How did you get sand out of the screw holes? That is my problem right now. I really dont want to replace the valve
Could use the shop vac
@@TomLeeman tried that, no luck.
DId he not put the spring back in on the opposite side of where it was? Which way is correct? ;)
Well, I’m gonna have to check that out
What was the model number of the valve you were working on?
Not sure
Help I did all of this after i put it together and my valve has water flowing out.
Sounds like you may have to get a pro to look at it. Good luck thanks for watching.
I have a row of pop ups still watering, I put a new diaphragm and water shoot out where you tighten screws
That happened to me also and I took it off and made sure it was on right and sealed and the leak stopped
Ok thank you tom
I found out some of the rubber was missing so I think they sold me a bad one package was a plastic bag small like a dope bag😡
@@asiasmaster sometimes people sinck a screw through that diaphragm. I like the Rain Bird PEBs better but they're 3 times the cost. Hunter makes a valve and the screws don't go through the diaphragm that is the the equivalent of Rain Bird 100 DVF.
Good
Really? You're going to film 5 minutes removing screws and then 5 minutes tightening them? OK...I'm exaggerating. I do appreciate the tips though. Thanks.
I know right should have sped it up
All you say is “I’ll have to check on that “ sorry but I started reading the responses
I’ll have to check on that I guess thanks for watching
good - but would be much better if you were not cursing
Sorry, thanks for watching
Instruction was good but I'm tired of hearing people use the f-bomb and other other references that seem to be prevalent to fill in sentences. I'm not a prude but it wasn't necessary and other vocabulary could have been used
.
Good luck on your install and fix and thank you for watching
Like the video nice work but the foul Language nope 👎
Dang it
@@TomLeeman ha 😂
