MUNCHIES Guide to Wales: Welshman’s Caviar and Mystical Sea Trout
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 тра 2016
- After drinking with the rugby girls in Cardiff, Charlet heads to Freshwater West beach for a traditional Welsh breakfast (and hangover cure.) Despite its proximity to England, Wales boasts a far more exciting national breakfast of cockles and seaweed, a.k.a. “Welshman’s caviar,” alongside bacon and eggs.
Next, Charlet travels to Carmarthen to meet its famous coracle fishers, a small group of fishermen who go in search of a rare sea trout known as sewin-the “unicorn of Welsh rivers.”

"Like poor man's food, it becomes fashionable"
Truth
lobster.
That old pub woman was brutal.
"Anything you'd like to ask me?"
"No."
+DMN KY NO
+DMN KY lol she gave her last damn many years ago
She doesn't give an ounce of joy more like. You can be happy and not give a damn
I've met her. She has limited English and really only speaks Welsh. When you chat in Welsh to her she comes alive.
Damon Kay I know right? Yiiiikess
Charlet is the best host on all of Vice. Great episode.
I loved the video. But there’s something about Charlet I can’t stand. She’s somehow fake and not as warm hearted as she acts like. She’s a horrible host to the show
Her voice and personality is just so dam cute and adorable I love it
@@CranBerryBaby0 You can either pin point that "something ".. or.. You're projecting
That old lady's pub is like something out of a Wes Anderson movie.
You aint from round here are you 🤣
The beer service and bar woman are definitely Anderson characters
I love this girl
Yeah, she's interesting and quirky but not so quirky that it alienates people. I like her.
yep love her, she's so cool
M S she's so hot

Every time I hear Welsh spoken it feels like I went back in time about 2000 years. Beautiful language, sounds so ancient.
Strange that Welsh has only been about for the past 400 years whilst English has for the past 1600
@@calumcain2355 That’s just completely wrong. Modern day Welsh can be traced back to 550AD and is potentially up to 4000 years old if you classify it’s evolution from Celtic languages, as you have clearly done with English, as modern day English and the English spoken today are not the same at all. Just by saying Welsh is only 400 years old is an insult to the heritage and culture of the country, which has been subjugated to hundreds of years of unwanted occupation by the “English”. Next time research before making totally false assertions.
@@josephnicholson modern day Welsh is very different to proto Welsh it wasn't spoken in Wales for almost a thousand years and English in earliest form even before anglycnn is dated back to the the 6th century bc which is a thousand years older so your talking shite for one stop crying just because English is the more popular language not even your own countrymen can be assed to learn the useless language till an English king Henry the 8th decreed Wales an official subsidiary of England in the late 1500s you weren't even an official country till the late 17th century ahahah
@@calumcain2355 strange that you can just say shit on the internet and sound so confident while being 100% wrong
"In vino veritas" … Charlet is a treasure-even when she is totally wasted, she's bright, sweet, and accepting.
Her voice is as soothing as David Attenborough. Love these little documentaries, the interaction with the locals, the breaking bread and getting drunk with them, is absolutely fantastic, can`t praise it enough!
This series (and the Scotland one) have done such a good job of making me appreciate the diversity and the beauty in our country. Absolutely superb stuff - whoever commisioned this is a genius and Charlet is so good - a real talent.
You’re not including Scotland in the “our country” statement I hope!
@@M00SE414 Well until we vote for independence it is our collective country, not just mine and everyone elses in scotland's.
Yes as a Singaporean honestly i think Scotland is very beautiful.
She's very pleasant. Great host

I love how much they care about the fish and how they don’t feel the need to eradicate the species just to enjoy a meal/pastime

God, she's a great bride! I love this woman.

I only found the Munchies channel last night. I think Charlet is an incredible host. Nice work
That pub was sure creepy.
+amaru250 the door bell part killed me.
As a Welshman no fucking idea why they included it. Maybe because it's fucking old ?. Plenty of great pubs out there with good history, and good beer too. Can't pour a pint of beer using a fucking jug.
cringy as fuck.
reminded me of hostel
I like that you just push a bell, and a mong pops out of a hatch.
When he looked at the camera then sang "Who beat the English?" lmao

”Who beat the english”😂
Yes!!! a Charlet episode!
thats hilarious how you put subtitles on
It is, but it does help a lot for audiences from non-english speaking countries :)
And only for the Welsh guy. Plummy English is understood all round the world apparently...
gosh, i miss Tenby and Ogmore by Sea, and Porthcawl
That seaweed hut is like an Anglo Saxon grub hut
you need to visit the Fiddichside Inn in Morayshire Scotland....Joe Brandy (the owner) is an absolute institution

Holly fuck I'm crying with laughter at that pub, the look on the bar tenders face. lol.
Beautiful Food
'Is there anything you want to ask me?'
'No'
😂
Nice to see a good mini-series of Munchies without all the hipster shite - tattoos, chequered shirts, trucker hats, etc.To be fair Charlet is a hipster, but cool tho.
I think she strikes the right balance of hipster and quirky fun. Eccentric in a charming way. Great host.
Then say it you think she is a 'cool hipster'
Good call.
It's interesting how the "lumberjack hipster" aesthetic looks really dated now, to the 2010s. I feel like it was a desperate attempt to appear masculine in reaction to the metrosexual look of the early 2000s, or just the emo/scene kids of the late '90s-early 2000s now thinking "Oh we've hit 30, need to look tough and older now".
I love Charlet and Wales
Cymru am byth!
When I knew Bessie, I come from Nevern, down the road a bit, she always wanted to know all about you and your family and everybody else that you might have in common, I went to school with her children. Her English is fine, she just does not use it, this is the Gwaun valley after all.
There has been a fire and I heard that there was extensive damage and the old place is closed. Iechyd da Bessie, hwyl i chi gyd!
she's back!
I love my country bloody good wales
Bruuuuuuv, when that bar window opened up at 4:53!! LMFAO
I love this girl I could not stop watching her beautiful
i love you Charlet
I love this girl also
Thanks for giving the guy with a lisp some subtitles
Also, CHARLET is awesome!
