That guy at the end was the embodiment of mysterious, at first I though "weird" or "strange" but after seeing the way he talked, connected and respected the forest, not to mention his massive effortless genius, had my mouth watering. He was so soothing and relaxing, his work was too beautiful. Like an absolute master at his art, and that's what it was, fuckin' art. I'm glad I came across this.
+Demian Haki I think that just may be what alot of people would be like if they were as in touch with nature and living off the land like he is, maybe that's how we are suppose to be living to truly be in touch with our own existence instead of how fast paced and fake society is at the moment. Love it....
+timbz agreed, I love the host Charlet shes so bubbly and humble, u cant help but to love her personality id watch anything and everything shes in. great job on this shit! love love it!
@@DBSbluedevil you obviously never worked in a kitchen before, sometimes the pressure and stress aren't worth a million a day, he's probably had a mental breakdown and this type of lifestyle is much healthier for his mind

The guy at the end was a true artist. I kinda feel sorry for him. He gives me the impression of someone who's seen too much and want to escape his horror. His food and way of living was really impressive to see. Never seen anything like that!
@Andrew Ongais Just sorry because its being felt like hes an odd man out. He seamed shy at the beginning. Theres this story about a guy in scandiniva who went into the woods at some point & the owner saw that he'd take care of it & let him live there, even got himself a woman to share lateron. I really envy these stories!
Yeah the host did kinda hint at the start that he was at the top at some point so it is easy to imagine him being completely burned out by that intense environment in a Michelin star restaurant and retreating back to basics for peace of mind. Amazing to see a master at work like that though, hope he's doing ok.
yes I agree - he was amazing but it was quite emotional to watch - and this is a ruffty tuffy excon body bnuilder talking who admits it kinda made me tear up
he actually made this whole video for me tbh. its like as his little segment progressed he opened up more and more until he just turned it into something....amazing lol it was really good!!!
There's a goddamn culinary wizard living in the woods of Wales and I'm over her in the US trying to figure out which mustard I like more on my microwaved hotdog.
The very last gentleman, he was so at peace with himself. At first I wondered what was going on, but you could see as the interview went on the guy became more comfortable with the people in the crew so he opened up and spoke with Charlet. His cooking & plating were absolutely amazing, especially in a tent. So wonderful to have seen Matt in this video, Great job Charlet. Thank you for sharing your trip with us.
Initially I thought the "hermit" cook was weird and withdrawn but then I realised, that maybe that's what people are really like when they're entirely at ease and peace with themselves. We live in such a fast-paced world where people are loud and manic, that it never dawned on me that maybe that's what it should be like. What appears weird is actually so right.
+LM1990 I believe this to be true as well. This man has done away with what society told him he needed, and beyond all that he's found a life that truly makes him happy and whole.
But he's either really lonely, or he just likes Charlet (which, I mean, she seems amazing, so it's definitely possible). But when she said she didn't want to leave, and he responded with "Well, you'll just have to come back", it honestly felt like loneliness.
It's foraging, not scavenging. Scavenging entails eating the rotting remains of another animal's kill or left over trash that someone else was done with. Foraging is the practice of harvesting wild plants and herbs to cook with. Huge difference.
+Bryan Liang yes Charlotte is our favorite. She just seems to be herself...straight no chaser. Gotta love a pretty woman who doesn't have to use her sex card to hold your attention.
I've watched MANY MANY munchies videos but nothing comes close to this. Not only is Char amazing, but the guy at the end was absolutely touching ... SO MUCH PASSION, artistic GENIUS and just had such a natural love for what he was doing. The world needs more people like him
I love this series and i love that she's doing it. The gentleman that does the foraging...I could honestly watch an entire channel on him, just to hear him speak and see the beautiful food.
Wales is a tiny, weird and wonderful country with some of the most eccentric and down-to-earth people you'll ever meet. This video encapsulates its oddness. The final section with the forager-chef is priceless. At first you think he might be a bit simple, then you find out that he is actually a mysterious genius who can conjure up culinary magic. What a man!
The last 10 minutes of this video were absolutely beautiful. That's the wonderful thing about humanity. For all our aggregated flaws as a species - self-awareness and individualism that comes from it yields gems like Matt Powell. And they're scattered all over the place, all over the world. Finding them, or encountering them is so special. Thanks to Munchies, the producers, camera team and Charlet for bringing this guy into our lives for 10 minutes. It reminded me that nothing beats quiet but intense passion and focus. Bravo.
Thoroughly enjoying this series. Not only is the subject matter fascinating but Charlet is charming and stunning. I hope this series continues for a while.
I watch this video once every few months especially for the foraging chef to make me realise what being at peace with yourself actually means. He might seem awkward to all of us but he is the true embodiment of an enlightened human.
Wales looks amazing. The people, food, and land really seem... surreal? Like I don't know how to describe how incredible this all looks. And Charlet as a host you are prefect and truly a gentle person. Like this video has made me feel good about life. Well done. Keep being awesome Wales. #WalesforWorldLeaders
I guess Mark had a bit of a moment that made him want to step back from the stress of the restaurant scene and I admire him for the way he's done it. Charlet put across so perfectly the feeling of experiencing something for the first time, with no reference point and preconceptions of what you're about to feel. Another fantastic piece of film making.
Munchies, that was truly epic. I think I never watched such a beautiful and great series before. And Charlet is just the best host ever. Humble, fun and totally normal. I almost teared up at the end of the video because I really felt how much she appreciated the food that was cooked by Matt. Thank you, just thank you for such a nice series, Munchies!
Charlet is great, extremely warm. You know when you see someone doing the job they were made to do - that's what's going on here. She has the warmth of Louis Theroux but the commentary and humour adds a level to the whole thing. Superb.
This is definitely Munchies at its peak. Don't think this channel could ever produce a video better. Host is fun, non-condescending and seems up for anything, and the material is utterly respectful to its subject matter.
Here I am complaining about not wanting to cook a proper breakfast, lunch, and dinner and just eat fast food because it's easy....and this guy Matt is not only foraging his own stuff literally every single day but also cooking amazing looking food with it. In a tent. Without electricity. I really have zero excuses to be this lazy. I get pissed about having to cut up salad junk and would rather grab a pre-made salad bag but Matt has to go out and collect his salad junk AND make sure he isn't grabbing anything poisonous. Yeesh. Puts things into perspective. And as always, Charlet is pretty much the most charming woman I've seen probably EVER. Such a lovely/sweet/gorgeous/friendly/fun person :3 Munchies is the best.

To be honest the 6 course meal, looks like something coming out of a michellin star kitchen, true art.
spectacular...in a tent...Unbelievable someone would give up $200 a plate restaurant for that life. seems to say a lot about life

Yes he is so inspirational!
That's because he IS our superior if the SHTF we'd all be dead and he'd be eating delicious meal
No, I think he just saw some shits a normal person can not take.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to pull that off in any of the forests that exist in ze US

1:52 That was straight up Robin Williams. It's so awesome when you can tell someone is genuinely passionate about something, no matter what it is.
Captain Beenie and Matt Powell are both proof of doing what makes you happy is what you should be living your life for!
