You hardly need another comment telling you to get the line on the reel, so I won’t! But otherwise, well fished! @@SiGmund63 Hi mate, I honestly really appreciate this comment! It’s a relief to know that there’s still positivity online 😁 As you said alot of negative feedback, which I’m still grateful for as I love to hear everyone’s opinion, as it can be very useful for me to improve as a angler! Clearly I’m not an expert nor have I claimed to be, I just enjoy the art of fishing, and trying to be as careful with fish handling as much as I can! Unfortunately as you know, a lot of people will take the negatives rather than giving the positives sometimes, but I suppose some are inclined with this mentality, Sorry for the long paragraph but it’s great to reply to another on the same wave length 🤘🏻🎣
The reason you were struggling to net it was each time you lifted it towards the net you walked forward towards it splashing as you went, thereby spooking the fish. Try standing still, crouch down to reduce your silhouette and slide the fish over a stationary net. Works every time. Also a folding net with a longer handle helps.
Well done, great fish, effort justly rewarded. I smiled seeing your hands shaking holding the line, its those moments that fishing is all about. A story to tell and a memory that will stay with you. Great job.
It was the boy and I that came across you on the beach. Well done (again). Great to see the fight it had put up, they really don't like getting caught. Timed it nicely, the weather became completely unfishable within the hour.

You should go and take a course on hook and release, the trick is to land it as quick as you can and release it. you should keep your line on your reel and let yuour drag do it's job.
Asking for trouble with loops of line floating about..get the line on the reel ..thats what it's there for..could have walked that fish to the shore no problem ...nice fish.
Congratulations on a magnificent fish. I am surprised you don't use a stripping basket of any sort. That would keep your line out of the tide and any chance of getting it caught in the bladderwrack or barnacle covered rocks. All that loose line is a danger for the fish to run into, or get caught in floating weed. A stripping basket made from a potty-training step, or a washing up bowl works perfectly.

@@theanglingfront it would be a PB for me too mate, absolute specimen of a sea trout
LOVE THE VIDEO, TYVM FOR THE 4K QUALITY :)
BIG BEAUTIFUL TROUT, DORSAL FIN LIKE A SMALL SHARK :P
* WHAT BRAND LINE? 4LB LEADER??? JUDGING BY HOW TIGHTLY UR' FINGERS ARE GRIPPING THAT LINE, I'D SAY UR WELL OVER THE RATED 4LB'S, WOULD MAKE A GREAT ADVERT FOR THE MANUFACTURER!
**WOULD YOU DO A GEAR LIST?
BOOTS / WADERS / ROD, REEL & TACKLE..?
Thank you mate, really appreciate that, it was stunning to see the dorsal thin when I first managed to get eyes on it when bringing it in 😁
Brilliant !! well done
Thanks Gordon, really appreciate this 🤘🏻🎣
Great video dude. There are times we would like go go gadget arms huh? Mate we were over from NZ only a week or so! well done!
@@GoffyTv Thanks my guy, really appreciate it, and yeah so true 😀 Have you got any plans to fish while you were over here?
@@theanglingfront oh dude, we are back in NZ now unfortunately. We will be back. I tell ya mate. we come from a beautiful country but scotland is bloody beautiful too. We were so busy looking at castles and other awsome stuff! but having the chance to fish over your way will be on my to do list!
@@GoffyTv That’s awesome, and yeah you definitely need to have a fish over here, even if I don’t catch, the scenery is worth it 😁
Great stuff 👍
Thanks Robert, really appreciate this 🤘🏻🎣
A kelted sea trout recently returned back to the salt… not particularly big but looked like great fun on the fly rod.
Yeah mark, was a great fight, might not be the biggest, but a PB for me on the fly, so was pretty happy 😁
Cracking fish mate 👍
Thank you rob, appreciate that mate
Some fight that mind! Mint 👍
Thank you mate, really appreciate that 🤘🏻🎣
Them Sea Trout don't half hang on 😂
😂 Totally agree Stephen, absolute power houses, 🎣
Beauty mate 👍
Thanks Iain, really appreciate that mate 🤘🏻🎣
You should go and take a course on hook and release, the trick is to land it as quick as you can and release it. you should keep your line on your reel and let yuour drag do it's job.
Asking for trouble with loops of line floating about..get the line on the reel ..thats what it's there for..could have walked that fish to the shore no problem ...nice fish.
Hi Hugh, couldn’t agree anymore, hindsight is a wonderful asset! Definitely a learning curve, thanks for the compliment on the fish and advice 🤘🏻🎣
Thanks Simon really appreciate the comment and advice 🤘🏻🎣
Cant wait!!!
That may be the best fight I have seen and well done absolutely epic man 😅
Where were you at ???
@@xpresscolourart5531 Thank you man, really appreciate this! It was some scrap on the fly rod! Hopefully I can get another one before the end of the season, I am based around the West of Scotland (Helensburgh area) what about yourself?
@@theanglingfront

Some right good salmon been caught over past few months amazing stuff man
I have never fished for sea trout but now i absolutely must 😵💫
I pass Helensburgh area on the bike now n then but as for
The fishing I haven’t a clue where tae start haha
@@xpresscolourart5531 Yeah man, seen some crackers online getting caught, and yeah sea trout are good fun, especially on the fly, as for the area, the whole place fishes really well for them, unfortunately we are nearing the end of the season which is a shame, gonna have to think what to target during the winter now 😂
@@theanglingfront
Tuna 😄
@@xpresscolourart5531 Could be worth a shot with the recent sightings 😂😂💪🏻
Well done . I know that bay well
Thanks mate, appreciate it, just seen the name of your channel, I used to do a lot of metal detecting myself a few years ago, itching to get back into it! Is this a hobby your still currently doing mate?
wow well done mate
Thanks Thomas, really appreciate it 🤘🏻🎣
Good fish. Theres some biggies this year got one yesterday good 4lb
Cheers Scott, appreciate it, and that’s awesome mate, must have gave you a good scrap?
Greetings from Australia - are you fishing the Gare Loch near Roseneath?
Yea, it’s the Gareloch Robert! And are you from here?
@@theanglingfront - born and bred. Approx 40 years ago my parents had a caravan at Roseneath before we migrated to Australia in 1981. I gave me pleasure to think I was looking at the caravan park in the distance as you were playing the sea trout and bringing it to your net
@ That’s awesome Robert! Thanks for sharing that piece of history with me, I really appreciate it
Cracking fish that mate, big shoulders unusual markings , is that a strain of sea trout , they call slob trout they stay really close to the estuary to feed ?
@@JWFitnessHealth Hi James, thanks mate, and yeah your right it’s a slob trout! 🤘🏻
Cracking video, and Troot.👍 Hope you don't mind me saying I've never seen a Sea Troot that colour, any chance it was a Slob Troot? Either way you got the sport out of it, well done.👌
Hi mate, yes it’s a slob trout! It’s not long been in the salt water from the river, I really like the colours on them personally and the fight was tremendous! Thanks for commenting really appreciated 🤘🏻🎣
Nice fish! Where abouts on the Clyde was this? 🎣🎣🎣
Hi Adam, appreciate that man, this is the Gareloch buddy 🤘🏻🎣
@@theanglingfront Got ya! Fished Cardross last night, no joy. Been up to Rhu previously, but only the mackies were biting 🎣
@@adamfergusson1 Yep same here Adam, had a few follow ins but mostly mackerel unfortunately! 🎣
W ell done some battle to get it in, it might have been helpful to fight the fish on the reel.Let it take a few runs to tire itself out
Thanks mate, and I totally agree with you, I have a bad habit of bringing fish in without the reel, thanks for the advice mate 🤘🏻🎣
Guess what the reel is for ?
So!When's your twenty foot landing net handle being delivered?Joking aside wonderful fish well done 👏
😂😂 Thanks Nick really appreciate that, starting to think I should just duct tape a broom handle to it 😂😂
Amazing 🔱 I love Fish-but can't eat them-same as mushrooms 🔱
Bin that silly "squash racket" type landing net & buy a proper one for gawd sake!! You're bound to regret it if you don't 😉 lol (from a 67 year old Welsh sewin angler) 👍🎣
😂😂 Thanks mate appreciate the advice, a longer handle would be absolutely perfect I reckon 🤘🏻🎣
Hi, imagine what a 20 pounder would feel like!
ATB
That would be a shock to me mate 😂 maybe one day I will experience a double figure sea trout, would be absolutely amazing
Looks good. What set up you got 8wt
Hi James, this is a greys lance 7wt
Great😊
Thanks Col, appreciate you
He was driving me crazy with the lack of line control….the fish gods are just waiting to throw a tangle in that line! Let the fish take as much as possible by relaxing your fingers under control or reel in some line while fighting the fish! True … both are risky no doubt but to do nothing isn’t a better choice, imo!
Thanks for the advice mate, thankfully the fish gods were in my favour that day 😁🤘🏻🎣
You should have slowly and calmly walked the fish back to the shore and it would have followed you like a dog in the same way that a salmon does. Anyway congratulations to you on your sea trout catch, well done 😊
@@markkelly4983 Thank you Mark, really appreciate the advice my friend 🤘🏻🎣
Slob trout, sea trout going in and out of the estuary, hence brown as well, do you have that name on them too
Yes mate, we call it slob trout also, love the colours on them,
