Who is the Steampunk Lobster King: MUNCHIES Guide to Scotland (Episode 2)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 сер 2014
- Charlet drags her poor, hungover body across the choppy Atlantic seas to the Hebridean Bruichladdich whisky distillery for a few hair-of-the-dog drams. A little tipsy (again) from the tastings, Charlet cuts up the Scottish coastline to hang out with John Lamont, the king of lobsters. Heading back to John’s restaurant to cook her catch, she’s shocked to discover that him and his wife are actually steampunk superfans, replete with top-hats and monocles.

Kendrick Lobstar...... I love this lady so much.
I really love how the lobster fisherman is sort of introduced as this hardened sea dog, but then when you get back to his restaurant his wife is a quirky Canadian and he's pretty quirky himself. Great stuff Vice.
Yeah that was fuckin fantastic. Great job whoever scouted them out!
He was delightful! I'd love to spend six hours on a boat with him, he'd be lovely company.
I loved the guy, and his command of English was even more impressive!
Sandra Fowler spend 6 hours doing what?
Sandra Fowler i doubt he'll last 6 hours though.
I would never have guessed john was a steam punk on tuesdays type of guy
No wonder he doesn't get lonely. He's got a lovely wife to go back to!!
He definitely loves anime
Would much rather hang with the steam punks more my kinda people, than some of the other moody Scots Charlotte encountered.... For the most part seem like cool people though.
@@annother3350 she is FAR from lovely.
@@MrCoors68 She's cooking and beiong a great housewife while her man goes fishing and then once a week they dress up. Seems like a lovely, stable, traditional relationship.
What's your problem, troll?
Charlet is amazing. Like the perfect mix of politeness and grit. Like she's done the entire "class journey", knows how to behave, but doesn't forget her roots. Very impressive person!
She named the lobster Kendrick Lobstar. Fucking ledge.
"What is that?"
"Kendrick's rapping, he's laying down some . . . verses, he's spitting some bars."
I'm falling for this woman.
+Adam Hamill She has a wicked sense of humour does Charlet.
+Adam Hamill That sound actually means that the lobster cant process the air and is actually screaming, losing the air in its body, dying in what we assume is pain :/
+Adam Hamill "I am a lobster, I'm never gonna swim again"
Damstraight68 🤷🏽♂️
I'm cringing. She's so awkward, not very open towards her hosts either.
This is such a "FEEL-GOOD" series of MUNCHIES. For some fucking reason I was smiling the whole time.
Me too laddy this is my home aha
That fisherman scene was incredibly romantic; I love his positivity.
that fisherman is a top lad. I miss scotland
Kendrick Lobstar
-hating humans
im dying
:D
Kendrick lobster
-considering suicide
XD
I absolutely love this woman, she's so funny. I really like the scenery in Scotland, I would love to visit Scotland one day.
Scotland is among the most beautiful places on earth, the food, the companion, Scottish are friendly, good whisky. I love you Scotland... I will be back...
"I've never been anywhere so lifeless" she says, driving a Vauxhall.
shittest joke of the year award
I laughed out loud... thanks
fellow from across the pond...what's the joke?
@@luketanner6373 I was exaggerating a bit Vauxhall made some fine cars. But most were your typical, drab shitboxes.
@@summushieremiasclarkson4700 ayy. Thanks for the context!
I love Charlets adventures because they are humble and educational. One of my favorite travel folks!
this made me fall in love with Scotland a little. Adding Scotland to my bucket list!
We take in one-too-many drams at a whisky distillery. Also, lobster fishing with a die-hard steampunk fan? It's all in ep 2 of MUNCHIES Guide to Scotland.

Great series, I have been to Scotland and it was one of the best trips I've taken in my life. My family is Scottish and we wanted to go there and see our roots. The country is absolutely gorgeous, the people are incredibly nice. Highly recommend it. This makes me want to go back now
muh heritage
Cheers bubbles. hope to see ya there
DjentlemanIndeed lol'd
I think I do love her, she should host more series!
I love the couple. They would make awesome friends, family and neighbors.
This series is awesome, so interesting and a great host ! More please munchies!
This just happen to be one of the good episodes.
Ive enjoyed all of them really
Charlet's cool as fuck. I'd chill w/ her any day of the week
I hated her for a long time, but she grows on me. She seemed posh but is actually just awkward, and she asks questions I wouldn't have thought up and makes connections i didn't see. What more can you ask of a journalist?
Now I look forward to her work.
***** Yeah, her accent is so stereotypically 'posh Londoner' that it's almost impossible not to find her pretentious at first but after watching more of her videos (because I found the subject matter interesting) I see that's not the case at all and she is genuine and open-minded.
charlot we love u :) i Wish u had your own series and do the thing u do. u are breath of fresh air
She's cool as fuck
Nah
6/10
This shit was boring as fuck! Where is Eddie Huang!
Wayne Hedd Your Eddie Huang is dumb as fuck, it's always painful to see him sharing your average pothead views on the world.
Wayne Hedd
Wayne you loser, this is great!
I love that place. Wish I could live there. So beautiful, and the people seemed so welcoming
Good job Munchies, you keep coming with jewel after jewel and man Charlet is gorgeous
Shes got some LOOOOOOOOOOOONG Legs
John Doe Nah they are long as fuck, she is at least 5'10 maybe 5'11 which is tall as hell for a woman.
FroopieLoopies She sure has 11:16
John Doe she's 5"11
FroopieLoopies Posho bird with long stems = A Good Thing in my world !
when some parents want girls they give the boys hormones castrate them and put them in a dress .
That definitely made me want to up, and leave to go live somewhere like that. Here in the states we're intent on turning everything into a parking lot, and are doing a fine job at it. Scotland has been around for so much longer, and still looks pristine.
"He will be dead by now." **Lobster moves in despair**
Just found this channel and I love it, I’m away to binge them all
holy they look amazing. like it right out a movie or book and it ridiculously awesome to see that couple
Im English, i love these videos, Scotland is a wonderful country full of lovely funny people! x
I'm totally and utterly in love/fascinated with Charlet.
Great series, it's something always nice to watch when bored.
Scottish people are seriously the most friendly and happy people I've met so far and this documentary reflects that so well!
I sense Carla the lobster fishermans wife has had a fucked up life. How does an American/Canadian (can't tell which) punk chick end up on the Isle of Mull AKA the middle of fucking nowhere, married to someone twice her age. Don't get me wrong it's cool as fuck, just incredibly weird. They should do a prequel film about how that happened
+Zim Zimma The middle of nowhere to you is the centre of everywhere for someone else. I have a friend who came here from a town by Las Vegas to see family and she moved here a year later and bought a farmhouse. Her reason? She was fed up being sweaty and sticking to furniture and car seats in Nevada.
I picked up and moved from Los Angeles to the middle of nowhere in Thailand, and yes willingly. Some people just get tired of city life or life in their home country. I moved back eventually but I can see why someone would want to move overseas, marry and start life anew
Zim Zimma Thats quite presumptious of you, love is a strange thing... you never know where it will lead yoy
She's Canadian, from Victoria, British Columbia. And she's in her fifties.
She's a good presenter
Brilliant people on this vid. Made me smile from ear to ear.
Fantastic series! I am really enjoying these
i love this episode :D the kitchen staff and the fisherman are so cool and friendly. i love it
This may be the best series that you have. Hooked since minute one.
Thanks for sharing! Radical cool...
I would have to say that aside from the shite weather, the remote parts of Scotland are truly amazing. I love it here so much. 10 minutes from my house and I am in the hills!
Steam Punk Tuesday! All the loves! Chalet, you are amazing, and so adaptable. Love your show! Come to California, I wanna travel and eat with you!
This entire episode was fucking awesome
First time I've seen you outside of the KvS comments.
Thanks for such a great series.
Best tea cake EVER, THANK YOU Scotland. 👍👍❤️🏴
Scotland is such a beautiful country i hope i could there on vacation some day..................
Such a great series. Do a MUNCHIES Guide to San Francisco!
wonderful program, thanks for sharing.
Really enjoying this, love Scotland.
The Whisky girl is a total babe!
True...
Caoimhin O'Duinnin
I thought it was just me and my weird taste in women lol
Stay aff the buckfast
Loving this series.
This was a delightful episode :)
Love this series Vice!
This series is so great
Damnit! I just went to Scotland this last July! Wish I would have seen this series before then.
Kendrick Lobstar is easily the best thing I've seen on munchies
13:03 I giggle a little bit at the job description. RIP Kendrick, you were awesome at hating humans.
gotta be one of the best youtube videos i have seen
I got my hands on the Octomore 8.1. It's unbelievably good. If you can shell for it, do it. All I have to say
LOVED
💯 % 10 out of 10
Beautiful
I think if I ever visited, I would never leave🙌🏼
Interesting and nicely done. A delicious looking recipe, presented well. Drunk boating, three stars.
I've left the Bruichladdich distillery drunk at lunch time too after my trip to Islay. Stocked up on a few bottles then went to Bowmore and did the same.
Loved this one!
love these shows , KEEP ON MUNCHING
This is my new fave show on UA-cam
I love this series
“Kinder like my trousers lately” I thought she was going to totally different direction with that
It was refreshing to watch her not insulting people and their cultures for once. :)
and not being a "hipster" and cussing every 5 seconds.
Well, the Scottish culture is near a dear to her. She'll be back to her insulting ways in no time.
Andy Howard
Well said. What Andy said is way more refreshing than what Tom said. But I agree with Tom too. That FoB guy is even more insulting to foreign cultures.
on which videos (or just tell the name of the country or whatever) did she insult the people there? I'm just curious to know.
zomluck watch the Colombian fashion week documentary, that's a good example. :)
Awesome series.
she is so honest i love it.
"Never trust a skinny chef"
WORDS OF WISDOM!
Such a great series
What a genuine and awesome presenter you have on this show :)
She is Not too bad!
What a lovely bunch of characters.
When she says "we lassie" in a Scottish accent just killed me 😂😂 I absolutely love this beautiful woman!
This series is very nice
What a beautiful country! I will be trying the Octomore soon
I love this girl and her sense of humor
She named the lobster Kendrick hahaha! I was pleasantly surprised by how good this is
Those folks look like so much fun!
I need to visit Scotland asap. Would love to do some fishing over there :)
Overwhelmingly charming. Everything...
get her to do more videos! Charlet's amazing
this episode is actually iconic
Great host! Great episode!
a restaurant serving thai lobster in scotland while the kitchen has a steampunk tuesday defiently not your typical place :P
GodofKings7 and about as Scottish as paella with cous coups sprinkles in a taco sandwich
Dined there with my late father; it was a great meal. Fabulous combinations that never stifled the main flavour. Why must we limit ourselves to a stale concept of what Scottish food should be? Guess where the seafood in a Spanish paella comes from...?
You're a spectacular host! Luv a woman who can drink in the morning! Cheers! 🥳
And that kitchen seems super fun to work in!!!!
Is Charlet gonna do anymore documentarys? She so beautiful and her accent and voice captivates me
2021 and subbed, best wishes. u doing well anyhow
They seem like they have such a happy marriage, I love johns steampunk and kilt attire 👌
This is awesome.
That lady was a amazing chef !
Same here Wave. Charlet is breath taking... Very beautiful!!
I love the pirate ship in the pink punk hair
I love Carla and the folks from the restaurant!
Kendrick is rapping, laying down some bars! 😄
Well that was one of the most surreal experiences of my life
This is so comfy!
Kendrick, steampunk. Not what I remember of my Scottish odesy but so much lovelier & whimsical. Drunk before noon the only way (not so sure about a boat ride afterwards!)
